No provisioning of User Group for authorization field in user master

We are implementing CUP 5.3 workflows. Both in manual proviosing and automated provisioning based on User Defaults the user group gets only provisioned to the Groups tab in SU01. The field User Group for authorization on the Logon data tab remains empty (field CLASS from system table USLOGOND, filling CLASS field in table USR02).
In User defaults both under user default as on the user group tab the user groups have been defined. In manual provisioning the correct list of user groups get displayed for selection.
Under field mapping in the Application field I only find User Group in user master maintenance, but not User group for authorization. However I would assume I do not need to use field mapping, as I want to automate this provisioning based on user defaults.
Am I missing a configuration setting here? If so, where can I set it?
I would assume the provisioning of this field is possible. RAR reports the user group also based on the User group for auhtorization and not from the Groups tab.

S.Pados,
I can assure you that what I said in my last response does provision the User Group For Authorization Check on the Logon Data tab; in fact, I was having the opposite issue where the Group tab was not being provisioned; however, I am ruunning AE 5.2 and you said you are running 5.3; maybe something did change or got lost in the releases; it probably is good to see what SAP has to say about this; I would hate to lose this capapbility when I upgrade to AE 5.3
As far as using the custom field for multiple applications, would that field not be usable for any of the applications you would select in the request form?; if you are using the same table names in the different SAP systems (selectable by the application field on the request) would the drop down selections be whatever the table has defined for that system? I may not be understanding something here so I am just asking;
It would be great to have a Group field automatically filled in by another selection to avoid the user involvement; I agree with you there; because of our concerns on users entering the AE request, our shop has decided to continue with the users submitting the request through normal email and the security administrators perform the AE entering; this way we have a better idea on something like the GROUP field; we have an option to include the original email as an attachment for justification of the request
Sorry I could not be of more help

  • Best practice for "Quantity" field in Asset Master

    Hi
I want to know what is the best practice for "Quantity field" in asset master. It should be made displayed only or required field in Asset Master creation.
Initially I made this field as required entry. So user entered 1 quantity. At the time of posting F-90, he again entered quantity. So my quantity in asset master got increased. Hence i decided to make that field display only in asset master creation.
Now i made that field as display only in asset master creation. At the time of posting F-90, that quantity field is not coming only. I check my field status group for posting key as well as GL account. Its optional field. Inspite of that user is able to make entry in F-90. Now quantity field is '0' only in asset master even though there is some value in asset.
Please help what is the best practice wrt quantity field. Should be open in asset master or it should be display only.

    Hi:
SAP Standard does not recommend you to update quantity field in asset master data.  Just leave the Qty Field Blank , just mention the Unit of Measure as EA. While you post acquisition through F-90 or MIGO this field will get updated in Asset master data automatically. Hope this will help you.

  • Account groups for Partner Roles in Vendor Master

    1. Can we use same account group to create the vendor master for the different partner roles? for the partner roles like goods supplier, invoicing party, order party, etc do all these need to have different account groups , example one account group for goods supplier, one account group for invoicing party, etc , etc.
    2. why we need the configuration for partner role in purchasing documents besides  partner role settings for vendor account group. what is the logic behind to have partner role dependent settings for purchasing documents.
If we do not maintain for partner role settings for purchasing documents  what effects it will cause?

    > 1. We can have 1 account group represent all partner role or separate account group for each role.
1.If we use the same account group, the field selection control for fields will be applicable to partner roles also. If we have made vendor schema as mandatory in vendor master than we have to assign to partner vendor also. Example ordering address will not require company code data only purchase data, it will not require also pricing procedure as mandatory as no price determination will be required for ordering address.
I think we have to use combination of account group -same account group and different account group will defining vendors for partner function.
Do we require to assign vendor schema group to following vendors roles- goods suppliers, invoicing party and payee.
If we do not assign vendor schema group will these partner role determine price from the VN partner role. For example VN (vendor) has vendor schema group assigned, no vendor schema group assigned to invoicing party, then while doing MIRO the invoicing party will be defaulted. Do the price determined for VN role will be populated for invoicing party in MIRO?
    > 2. we need partner role in purchasing doc because we can copy partner role from vendor master to purchasing document
It means we need to assign similar roles in schema for vendor account group and purchasing documents. If you see the schema in config for partner determination in IDES system, different roles exists in vendor schema and purchasing document schema.
This is creating confusion for me to understand.
    Please clarify
    2. we need partner role in purchasing doc because we can copy partner role from vendor master to purchasing document

  • User Group for Authorization Check

I created a user group called SYSTEM and assigned all our companies system accounts to it. Two examples of additional SYSTEM accounts I added to the SYSTEM user group are: DDIC & SAPBATCH. I did not register this group or apply any special conditions. Since doing so, several system accounts constantly become locked.
Is it safe to delete the SYSTEM user group?

  • Identifying Radio Columns in Radio Group for Authorization

    Hi friends,
I have a single radio group page item which has a 3 no.of columns. I have defined a static lov definition for it as it shows three values for the three column in a single radio group page item. These are the values.
    <li> Self
    <li> On behalf of
    <li> New Hire
I need to restrict these three values according to the user roles. For that i can write an authorization and take the users corresponding to their roles.
But how i can refer this authorization according to the values that radio group has. Since that radio button is a single page item.
I need to restrict the three values of the radio button to the three set of users under the specific roles.
I wrote the three sets of authorization which is filtering the three set of role users, accordingly to their login in the application. But how to refer these three authorization rules to a single radio group page item.
If it is a single authorization means, i can refer it to that radio group page item under the security section.
How to refer these three sets of authorization to a single radio group page item.
    Brgds,
    Mini

Write a PL/SQL authorization function that returns a Boolean or a Y/N based on knowing the role and the radio group item. Pass in the Role and the Radio Group select item.
Write an LOV for the Radio Group which is a query that adds the Radio Group item if the authorization passes and does not include it if the authorization fails
    ie.
SELECT 'Self' FROM DUAL WHERE SECURITY_PKG.Role_has_auth(role_name, 'SELF') = 'Y'
    UNION ALL
SELECT 'On Behalf of' FROM DUAL WHERE SECURITY_PKG.Role_has_auth(role_name, 'ON BEHALF OF') = 'Y'
    UNION ALL
SELECT 'New Hire' FROM DUAL WHERE SECURITY_PKG.Role_has_auth(role_name, 'NEW HIRE') = 'Y'

  • Check for Duplicate Fields in Vendor Master

    Hi
    Pls check the path
IMG > Financial Accounting> Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable>Vendor Accounts> Master Data > Preprations for Creating Vendor Master Data > Change message control for Vendor Master Data
Give message numbers 144 and 145
How ever, I suggest that you do not put the message as "E". There could be a scenario, where in, the Business may have certain customers and vendors with the same name and other common fields.

  • Carrier Details on Field status group for vendor master

    Hi,
I have a requirement to make the SCAC and Carrier freight group as required fields on vendor master .
but the standard SAP system requires/ allows three fields : SCAC , carrier freight group and Service agent procedure group as mandatory to be activated under the 'carrier details ' column in the field status group (transaction OB23 and OBD3).
I want to know if there is a way to flag just the SCAC and carrier freight group as required fields for entry in vendor master .
    Thanks
    Naga Yarramsetty

    Hi All,
Thanks for your reply. With user exit and validation, I cannot create mandatory mark in FS00. Actually SAP make this description always mandatory. But there is no mandatory mark in this column. I just want to create mandatory mark in this column. Need you advice.
    Thanks,

  • Customer fields do not display in Define Field Groups for Cust. Fields IMG

I am customizing to display cusotmer fields in cporjects IMG actviity 'Define Field Groups for Customer Fields'.
I am able to see the main tab in object category and multiple sub tabs in it. However customer fields that have been added by Enhance database tables in DPO are not shown or visible in the sub tabs.
Am I missing any config? Please let me know.
    Senthil

    Hi Senthil,
If you can see the tabs and not the fields, pl check if you have covered field control for these newly created custom fields.
To have field control for these fields, you will have to copy the standard SAP provided field control, include the structure that has you custom fields and give it authorizations etc as per your requirement.
Pl read carefully the documentation provided with field control.
Refer note 947963 - Setting up field control

  • Icon for customer field (field group)

    Hello!
We have a need to follow-up one indicator through a customer field thanks to icon (like severities).
Do you know if it's possible to manage that with the field groups for customer field (I couldn't achieve that yet), or if we have to develop a dedicated webdynpro application for that?
    Thanks!
    Matthias

    Hi
You need to use programs provided by SAP  to handle dynamic behaviour.
The idea is to store your BDC data into a file. (If you are already reading
from a file, you still may have to write to a file suitable for the
    program).
The SAP standad program can be called using a SUBMIT.
Here are two programs that you can try :
For creation of Customers : RFBIDE00
For creation of Vendors : RFBIKR00.

  • Table for Screen Field Properties

    Hi Guys,
    I have strange requirement.
Lets say i have designed 5 fields in the Dialog Program. 2 fields belongs to Group1,another 2 fields belongs to Group2 and 3rd field is belongs to group3.
Where can i find those values (I mean which table). I belive it should be Program, screen no and data type.
Note : Groups you can set in Attributes of the field in Dialog Program.
    Thanks
    Poorna

    Setting Screen Field Attributes
Every screen field has attributes that you set in the Screen Painter when you define the
screen. At runtime, you may want to change these attributes, depending on what
functions the user has requested in the previous screen. At runtime, attributes for each
screen field are stored in a memory table called SCREEN. You do not need to declare
this table in your program. The system maintains the table for you internally and updates
    it with every screen change.
The memory table SCREEN contains the following fields:
    Name Length Description
NAME 30 Name of the screen field
GROUP1 3 Field belongs to field group 1
GROUP2 3 Field belongs to field group 2
GROUP3 3 Field belongs to field group 3
GROUP4 3 Field belongs to field group 4
ACTIVE 1 Field is visible and ready for input
REQUIRED 1 Field input is mandatory
INPUT 1 Field is ready for input
OUTPUT 1 Field is for display only
    INTENSIFIED 1 Field is highlighted
    INVISIBLE 1 Field is suppressed
LENGTH 1 Field output length is reduced
DISPLAY_3D 1 Field is displayed with 3D frames
VALUE_HELP 1 Field is displayed with value help
To activate a field attribute, set its value to 1. To deactivate it, set it to 0. When you set
the ACTIVE attribute to 0, the system suppresses the field and turns off the ready for
input attribute. The user can neither see the field nor enter values into it.
    Note
You can define values for each of these attributes in the Attribs. for 1 field section in
the field list of the Screen Painter. If you need more information about attribute
meanings, see BC ABAP/4 Workbench Tools.
    Modifying the Screen SAP AG
    Setting Screen Field Attributes
    32u20134 May 1997
As an example of modifying the screen dynamically, start with transaction tz50
    (development class SDWA).
The transaction consists of two screens. In the first screen the user can enter flight
identifiers and either request flight details (by pressing a Display pushbutton) or press the
Change pushbutton to change the data of screen 200.
The field attributes are now set dynamically, according to whether the Display button or
the Change button was selected. In both cases the same screen is now called, but with
    different field attributes.
If the same attributes need to be changed for several fields at the same time, these fields
can be grouped together. For example, in order to change the fields in screen 200
dynamically, we assign these fields in the Screen Painter to the group MOD. You can
specify up to four modification groups for each field. The contents of the Groups field
are stored in the SCREEN table.
The changes to the attributes of the fields in this group can be implemented in a PBO
    module:
    SAP AG Modifying the Screen
    Setting Screen Field Attributes
    May 1997 32u20135
    MODULE MODIFY_SCREEN OUTPUT.
    CHECK MODE = CON_SHOW.
    L0OP AT SCREEN.
    CHECK SCREEN-GROUP1 = u2019MODu2019.
    SCREEN-INPUT = u20190u2019.
    MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDLOOP.
    ENDMODULE.
The memory table SCREEN contains each field of the current screen together with its
    attributes.
The LOOP AT SCREEN statement puts this information in the header line of this system
    table.
In this example taken from transaction tz50, if the user chooses Display then SCREENINPUT
is set to u20190u2019 and all fields belonging to the MOD group thus become display-only
    fields.
Because attributes have been changed, the MODIFY SCREEN statement is used to write
the header line back to the table.

  • No possible entries exist for this field for Shipping Point

    Hi gurus,
I require the Shipping Point to be automatically determined in the Sales Order. Except this is not happening, I then attempt to manually select a Shipping Point in the line item of the Sales Order and receive the following error (in green)
"No possible entries exist for this field"
The Material Master has the Loading Group assigned.
The Sales Order Type has the Shipping Condition assigned (so does the Customer)
The Plant is assigned to the Customers (no CMIR created)
The combination of the three are entered in the 'Shipping Points Determination" table in SPRO with a Proposed Shipping Point AND a Manual Shipping Point.
Except I can not choose either of them as a Shipping Point in a Sales Order.
Anyone have the knowledge to understand why I can not select a Shipping Point?
    Thanks

    Shipping Point Determination
Shipping points are independent organizational units that are linked to a plant and represent the point of departure or receipt of materials.
Check if shipping point is defined and assigned to plant or not by going to:
    IMG&#61664;Enterprise structure&#61664;Maintain structure&#61664;Assignment&#61664;Logistics execution&#61664;Assign shipping point to plant
    IMG&#61664;SD&#61664;Shipping&#61664;Basic shipping fncs&#61664;Shipping point determination.
The shipping point is determined based on the shipping conditions, which are either entered manually in the sales order or are copied from the customer master record (shipping screen – 01=as soon as possible, 02=standard, 03=collective processing). The shipping point is also determined by the loading group (0001=crane, 0002=forklift, 0003=manual), which is copied from the material master record, and the delivering plant of the line item in the sales order.

  • Item category group for Raw Materials

    Hello Gurus,
    Goodmorning,
    I have a client requirement,
Here my client is selling the  Raw materials , i  have some  confusion in taking the category group  , what is the item category group  we  have to use for determing for  the sales   categories ? I  don't  find any special  item category group for raw material . in material master as  well as  in  item category  determination in  in sales document  types  too .
looking for your inputs  in this regard.
    Thanks &Regards
    Ravi.M

    Hello Ravi,
Sales of Raw material already being discussed some times back.
As I know, as per Central Excise law, you are not suppose to sell the raw material from a manufacturing unit.
Hence, you rename the ROH material code with suffix A.  In tcode OSM2, activate sales view tab.
Apart from this, you need to maintain the renamed code in tcode J1ID with numeric value 1 under the tab Declared.
    But, normal OR-LF-F2 process.
FYI - Choose of Material tyoe will be important than choose of general item category group. As I Cat group, Materials grouping that helps the system to determine item categories during sales document processing. If a group is configured specific to distribution channel, it has priority if the corresponding activity is distribution channel-dependent. In the standard system, there are normal items, items that signify services (and therefore need no delivery processing) and items that signify packing material, for example.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Maximum number of fields in material master

    Hi,
Could you please help to understand how many fields can be added in material master Tab.
Example - If we create new material master tab as additional data and would like to add some fileds in that tab, is there a limit we can't add more than certain number of fields.
Please advise how many cloumns can be added as well in one tab.
    Example
Material master additional data Tab (New)
    feild 1 description field 4 description field 7 ......
    field 2 description field 5 description field 8 ......
    field3 description field6 description field 9 ........
I think the fields should be assigned to feild selection group which is reserved as for Z fields
Please confirm if my understanding correct for Z fileds
    211-240 Reserved for customers
As I think only 20 field can be assigned to field selection group but My question is can we assign more than one filed selection group to one material master tab. I mean to increase the number of field to be added in new additional data tab can we add 111-120 Reserved for customers and 211-240 Reserved for customers to one material master additional data tab.
    Thanks

    Hi,
For add fields to material master, check Note 44410 - Integrating cust.-specific fields in matl master (and related notes).
Other note useful to understand the range of customer names in SAP: SAP Note 16466 - Customer name range for SAP objects.
I hope this helps you. If you need something else, let me know.
