No response from web cache server

Hello,
I have OCS installed on linux box. when i am trying to connect to web conferencing home page through winodws, after connectivity check when i click on login, it is showing me error as "NO response from webcache serve".
For webconferencing on linux i have run following scripts ./dcmctl, ./imtctl and ./webcachectl it is showing me as webcached server is running.
what more i have to do for getting the access to webserver?
can anyone help me please?
Regards,
Sarita

In the OAS Release 2 Web Cache Admin guide, you''ll find that the solution related to that particular error is to increase the network timeout between the web cache and the origin server. Change it in Resource Limits and Timeouts page of the ASControl.
However, with all the internal errors that you are also getting, the problem is likely something else so increasing the timeout value might only mean it'll take longer before it tells you there's an error.

• No response message from web cache

Hi,
We are facing a strange and serious problem with our Oracle infrastructure. We have running a web application that uploads files to the database server. But we have found out that if we try to upload a ZIP file (in the application, uploading a ZIP file means that it uncompresses the ZIP file and copy the zipped files one by one to the database server, therefore this operation can take a while), it comes an error message of the type:
No Response from Application Web Server
We didn't find any especial configuration for a timeout in the application server and http server. We also checked the timeout for the web cache that we also use, and seems to be alright (very much longer that the time to crash). When using the application without going through the Web Cache (calling directly the application server), it works well!!! On the other hand, we thought in a relation between the size of the files and the effort of the application to process them and the "No response", but we have successfully uploaded other documents bigger than the ZIP file. When checking the LOG files of the Web Cache and the Apache and application server, we find the following:

Could it be that the Web Cache sent a request to the application server and because of an unknown reason, it received a response that made it to show the "No response" message. Or could it be that the Web Cache is sending request and not receiving any response from the application server, or that there is some timeout configuration that we didn't find??? Please, help!!!!
Thanks in advance,
Luis

We found the core issues was with the number of database connections that were created during load testing. Refactoring the code to reuse the database connections fixed this issue.

• No response from Web Server

Hello,
I have installed Oracle9i application server Rel 2,9i Infrastructure & oracle 8i DB on Win 2000 server. The installation was successful.
When I access the browser with http://<hostname>:7777 it works fine, it shows HTTP server welcome page.
Now I am trying to access Portal home page using http://<hostname>:7779/pls/portal
It seems, it searches for the Web site for sometime & then gives the error "No response from Web Server"
What is the problem ?? Is there anything with the services ?? I can see two http servers(apps & infrastructure)in the program listing,is it related with these ??
Please help.I will appreciate your support.
Regards
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep.
Try run EM WebSite running in http://<hostname>:1810.
If you are familiarized with this service it should be easy to solve your problem.
Once you access EM WebSite, you'll see two farms(One for iasdb, and one for Portal). That are some symbols that tell you about the status of Portal. If You see an red arrow pointing down, then you need to access Portal farm to put some services "up".
Choose the link for Portal Farm.
This page shows the status of all Portal components.
For you to get response from your portal http server, there a few of these that must be working.
They are (by order):
1. OC4J_Portal;
2. Web Cache;
3. HTTP Server;
For you to start them, you must (for each one) click on it's radio button an choose start.
With this components "up" you should be able to access Portal.
Some of other components cannot be started by us, because it's radio button is disabled, but Single Sign-On:orasso:7777 must be "up", and
Portal:portal:7778 in my case is "down". The rest of OC4J components are needed for other utilities like deploying components.
Hope i helped you.
Pedro.

• No response from web server after a process ran for 1-2 minutes

Hi,
I have a proven pl/sql code, it took about 2+ minutes to complete in sqlplus.
But when I created a button to process the exactly same code in APex application, the process runs about 2 minutes and
applications bombs with this msg "No Response from web server".
Has anyone gotton this msg before?
Thanks,
Julie

Hi Julie,
See this thread - it may had some extra considerations for you: OHS Webserver Timeout for long running requests
Do you know if your error message is returned at a fixed time each time? You could test this by creating a procedure that sleeps for X amount of time and then vary X to see if you can find a cutoff point for losing the connection.
Also - I assume that your process keeps running on the database, despite the webserver connection being lost?
If it's not a limitation in your httpd.conf file (the default is 5 mins as others have pointed out), then perhaps your network colleagues have set something in your network configuration to kill connections longer than a certain period of time? This is what happened in my case.
Hope this helps.

• Issue with receiving response from web application

Hi,
I have configured B2B with business protocol as 'Custom document document over Internet', document exchange protocol as AS2-1.1 and transport protocol HTTPS1.1 to invoke a web application deployed in Oracle Application server. B2B is able to invoke the web application with HTTPS request which contains an xml.
I have set the acknowledgment mode as 'Sync' and 'Is acknowledgement handled by B2B' as true. But while receiving the response from web application which is an xml, B2B is showing the error as

Hi,
Request and Response should be part of same agreement. I hope you are not confused between Acknowledgement and Response. Acknowledgement can be received in the same session (sync mode) but Response will always come in a different session and will be treated as a different document. If, for request, party A is initiator and B is responder then for response party B will be initiator and party A will be responder (as Requset and Response are two docs in case of Custom Document)
For configuring X-Path, please refer section 8.3.11 Configuring the XPath Expression for a Custom XML Document at below link -
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/integrate.1012/b19370/busact_coll.htm#sthref784
Please let us know whether you are trying to receive a response or Ack?

• HT203071 How does the clients (iOS devices) to configure/use the caching server to download apps from local caching server instead of App store?

Hi ... How does the clients (iOS devices) to configure/use the caching server to download apps from local caching server instead of App store?

Hi,
If you want to restore a reomoved app,you need to use
Add-AppxPackage to add a signed app package (.appx) to a user account.
But we cannot extract them from the ISO.
The behavior is by design. And this is a software protection regime.
Thanks for your understanding.

So, I am not able to set "In-Reply-To" header while sending my SendMail command. Which results in no LastVerbExecuted returned from the server (which I suppose is caused by the mentioned issue).
So, my question is, how to make the exchange server return a Message Id field for a new email received by my client?
Something like mentioned here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee220018%28v=EXCHG.80%29.aspx

You are getting customized error as a SOAP Fault from PeopleSoft application.
Regarding 3 responses, your send port might have retry count = 3 set in your send port. Hence you are getting 3 faults on each request you are making.
Now coming to the actual issue, when something goes wrong and you got fault message response, you need to deal with it. Means your orchestration send port will have "Response" and "Fault" response and you will deal with these messages respectively.
You need to assign MessageTypes for Response and Fault accordingly.
If you have done all above and still getting an error, check this
hotfix 978156 which is applicable in case of 2k6R2 and 2009 biztalk versions and happens while dealing with cross object conversion (datetime)

• No response from Sun Application Server PE 8.2

Hi all,
I am using Sun Application Server PE 8.2 on windows XP service pack 2 professional edition, and jdk 1.4.1_01.
The problem I am facing is that the server is not responding, even though it is listening at the respective ports(4848 for admin, 8080 for http..etc) as I can see 'netstat' command.
I have checked the server logs and it shows the following output :-
[#|2006-08-23T13:38:13.890+0530|WARNING|sun-appserver-pe8.2|javax.enterprise.tools.launcher|_ThreadID=10;|LAUNCHER005:Spaces in your PATH have been detected. The PATH must be consistently formated (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin; ) or the Appserver may not be able to start and/or stop. Mixed quoted spaces in your PATH can cause problems, so the launcher will remove all double quotes before invoking the process. The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components. |#]

• ValidateXML and response from Web Services

Hi,
I'd like to be able to validate the reponse from a web service invoked via a partner link. I have validateXML true for the PL but that doesn't appear to validate the response. Should it ? Or would I have to come up with a 'manual' method of validating the returned xml ?
Cheers

I got an exception when I tried to access an expected element in an assign that followed the invoke, but that was all. The response was actuall empty, ie returned
