No setter method found - custom tag

          Hi Guys
          When I attempt to access a .jsp that is making use of a custom tag library that
          I've written I'm seeing the following message:
          "weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspException: (line 1): Error in using tag library uri='/WEB-INF/LSTreeControl.tld'
          prefix='tree':
          There is no setter method for property 'colIndex', for Tag class 'com.levelseas.core.web.tag.treecontrol.LSSubmitParamTag"
          The method has a signature of:
          "public void setColIndex(String index) throws JspTagException"
          and the Class has a number of sets defined on it and this is the only one that
          is being complained about. If I remove this attribute then no complaint!
          I'm new to bea but have been around jsp for a while so I'm wondering if this is
          a feature of wls 6.1 and would love to know a way around it.
          Any help appreciated
          J

          Hi Guys
          Problem is almost certainly because I've gone and defined the get as returning
          an int, (hence no property!)

  • JAXB is not generating the setter method for my tag

    Hi,
    I am generating java classes form my .xsd file using JAXB.
    The xsd definition has defnes a Form as a sequence of FormElement, where FormElement is a choice of graphical components like text etc. Form can have 0 or unbounded elements of typeFormElement
    Example
    <xs:element ref="sswfm:FormElement" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
    It is creating the getter method for this tag like this-
    java.util.List getFormElement();
    but does not create setter method, namely, setFormElements which I would like to use when marshalling from swing to XML.
    If i remove the maxOccurs="unbounded, it is creating the setter method for this tag.But i want to keep this tag as it it and needs the setter method also.
    What should i do? Has one tried this before. HELP if you can
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi RavindraKshirsagar,
    We have a problem like you faced. Our requirement is that, we need to generate dynamically the PERSON element in our javabean.
    <xs:element name='SERVICE_REQUESTER'>
              <xs:complexType>
                   <xs:sequence>
                        <xs:element ref='ORGANIZATION' />
                        <xs:element ref='PERSON' maxOccurs='unbounded' />
                   </xs:sequence>
              </xs:complexType>
         </xs:element>For this maxOccurs, as JAXB is not generating any Setter Method. As we need to get data dynamically from external application. If you could help us in handling this case dynamically, it will be well and good.
    Please send us the script / code asap.

  • Setting up custom tags using Cfmodule?

    I have just set a site up on Godaddy, on a shared CF server, so I don't have access to the administrator to set up a custom tag
    I believe it's possibly to set up a tag by uploading into my web root and then referring to it using CFMODULE
    Can anybody offer any help on this as I can't get it working.
    the issue is I want to set up DLL custom tags, such as CFX_ZIP (CFX_ZIP), and CFX_GIFSIZE (gifsize.dll)
    Thanks
    Mark

    I guess I could try some createobject code to see if it works on godaddy
    Would you be able to post some example code?
    Sure. Here is a simple test. If by some miracle that actually runs without error, you can find a .NET example in the documentation
    <cfset str = createObject("java", "java.lang.String").init("Test this")>
    <cfoutput>#str#</cfoutput>
    Also, find out what version of CF you are using. If it is CF8+ you are in business.
    <cfoutput>
    version #server.coldFUsion.ProductVersion#
    </cfoutput>

  • Applescript for custom tags

    hi there,
    has anyone had any experience with applescript and custom tags? i've gotten so far as to display the name of custom tags i've added, but i want to find a way to batch erase some i've added on several thousand pictures. any hints?
    j
    here's a snippet of the code i'm trying out. there must be some way to delete the tag, but i'm not fluent in applescript. the logic of the script has been copied off another one i've found somewhere on the net. the author is Steven Banick (http://banick.com)
    repeat with countOfPhotos from 1 to the count of selectedPhotos
    -- Get the photo's properties for the operation
    set currentPhoto to item countOfPhotos of selectedPhotos
    tell currentPhoto
    -- Reset the variables in the loop
    set the photoCustomTags to ""
    -- Retrieve the Photo Metadata
    set the photoCustomTags to the name of custom tags
    -- Scan the individual custom Tags from the assigned Custom tags
    repeat with currentcustomTag from 1 to count of photoCustomTags
    set currentcustomTag to item currentcustomTag of photoCustomTags
    -- ver quais são as custom tags e tentar apagá-las
    if currentcustomTag = CustomTagName1 then
    -- display dialog currentcustomTag
    delete the item currentcustomTag

    I'm not sure if you can delete tags, but you can certainly empty them:
    tell application "Aperture"
    set selectedImages to the selection
    repeat with i from 1 to number of items in selectedImages
    set this_item to item i of selectedImages
    try
    set value of custom tag "Image ID" of this_item to ""
    end try
    end repeat
    end tell
    Just change "Image ID" to the name of your custom tag, and make sure that you only use it on the correct images...

  • Setter method not getitng called in the custom tag

    Hi,
    I have written a custom tag and I have declared an attribute in the tld file and have specified the setter method for the same in the java tag file but that setter method is not getting called...for rest of the attributes, the methods are getting called and not just for one!! any idea what could be the problem....
    Regards
    Deepak Saini

    Do you have a getter method to match that property?
    Post some example code - what does your tld define for this property, and what get/set methods have you defined for it?

  • Why it cannot find the setter method for the attribute in my custom tag?

    Hi, i have a custom tag like this:
    <robin:category tModelKey="#{data.tModelKey}" > </robin:category>And in my tld file:
    <tag>
          <name>category</name>
         <tag-class>category.component.HtmlCategoryTag</tag-class>
         <attribute>
             <name>tModelKey</name>
             <required>false</required>
             <rtexprvalue>false</rtexprvalue>
             <type>java.lang.String</type>
         </attribute>
    </tag>
    ........................................and in my HtmlCategoryTag Class
    public class HtmlCategoryTag extends HtmlPanelGridTag
    private String tModelKey;
    public String getTModelKey()
    return tModelKey;
    public void setTModelKey(String modelKey)
    tModelKey = modelKey;
    So,you see,generally speaking,to use a custom tag,we only to write a tag class,declare it in the tld file,nothing more.
    What fints me is that if i change "tModelKey" to "test" and change the according part in the tag class , tld file and jsp file, the "setter not found" problem no longer exists,everything goes right!!!.
    So why this happens? please help:)
    Best Regards:)
    Robin

    Then you also need to create a UI element that extends HtmlPanelGrid
    that has a tModelKey member and getters/setters. That object will hold
    the information so that you can use it in your bean.Whoops... ignore that! Sorry. Attributes are simply stored in the component map component.getAttributes().
    Add to your Tag class:
    public void setProperties(UIComponent component) {
        super.setProperties(component);
        Tags.setString(component, "tModelKey", tModelKey);
    public void release() {
        // see above
    }Where Tags.java is:public class Tags {
        public static void setString(UIComponent component, String attributeName, String attributeValue) {
            if (attributeValue != null) {
                if (UIComponentTag.isValueReference(attributeValue)) {
                    setValueBinding(component, attributeName, attributeValue);
                } else {
                    component.getAttributes().put(attributeName, attributeValue);
        public static void setValueBinding(UIComponent component, String attributeName, String attributeValue) {
            FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            Application app = context.getApplication();
            ValueBinding vb = app.createValueBinding(attributeValue);
            component.setValueBinding(attributeName, vb);
    }

    The reason is because the custom tag has a setInput() that takes a String parameter while the getInput() returns an InputStream.
    Should both get and set methods have the same type of parameters or is this a due to a bug in the app server ?

    I was only going off info from the original post. The error specifically states "Unable to find setter method for attribute: input" with a lower case i for the input attribute. You also specifcally stated "The reason is because the custom tag has a setInput()" with a capital I for the setInput method. This would most definitely cause the error you were receiving. That is unless you corrected this between your original post and your followup testing.

  • F110 - No valid payment method found for Customer Direct Debits

    Hi All,
    I am running customer Direct debit pre-notifications payment run via F110.
    I am runnnig only for one customer and it appears as an exception with the message 'No valid payment method found
    We have used payment method D lots of times before so it is nothnig to do with the company code or payment method set up.
    It is however the first we've tried to run for this customer.
    I have checked everything I know:
    1) Payment method D selected in the F110 parameters
    2) Payment method D entered in the invoice line item
    3) Payment method D entered in the payment transactions tab on the customer master data
    4) Valid Direct Debit madate exists and check complete
    5) parameters are correct in the F110 selection - company code, payment method, dates, next payment date, invoice is well overdue, it was only entered today but was due back in 2014!, free selection, additional log etc.
    6_ Checked in SPRO in "Payment Method/Country" details and the following are required : Bank details including IBAN required, SWIFT code required, SEPA mandate required. These are all maintained in the customer master data.
    and still the customer invoice I want to pay is show as an exception in the log. In the payment proposal it shows as an exception No valid payment method found. In the log it shows as

    I am at a loss as to where to check next. Please help.
    thanks

    Hi Jenna,
    In the log I can see the message 'SEPA mandate & for bank xxx has been assigned to a contract' FZ788. This means: Mandates with contract cannot be used for the payment of any invoice. The invoice has to be assigned to the mandate or be assigned in the payment run.
    Please check the F1-help of the field 'SEPA Mandate: Contract Type' in the mandate.
    The Note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1874892 describes the various options.

  • Is it possible to set a custom tag attribute from a TagExtraInfo?

  • Custom Tag and Attribute Not Found

    Hi,
    I've been getting an error with the following code in a JSP called cardDeclined.jsp...
    <gwps:log level="ERROR" message="<%= request.getAttribute("errorMessage") %>" />gwps:log is a custom tag and errorMessage is a request attribute set in a servlet that includes my JSP. When I execute the program, I get a message from the servlet container (Tomcat 3.2.3) stating that "attribute 'errorMessage' has no value".
    I wrote some test code that dumps out "errorMessage"; that seemed to work. The JSP request object has a value for "errorMessage." So, I now use the following workaround...
    <% String message = (String)request.getAttribute("errorMessage"); %>
    <gwps:log level="ERROR" message="<%= message %>" />I'm looking for a reference describing how request and session variables can be passed to the custom tag
    Thanks,
    CW

    I think you might be having a problem with the quotes. Try this instead:
    <gwps:log level="ERROR" message='<%= request.getAttribute("errorMessage") %>' />
    Notice the single quotes around the scriptlet.

  • Custom tag cloud webpart based on keywords from a Term Set in the Term Store .

    Hi Guys
    Does anyone have developed a custom Tag Cloud webpart in SharePoint 2010? I'm
    looking for a custom Tag cloud based on keywords from a Term Set in the Term Store.
    Unfortunately
    out of the box Tag Cloud Web Part only reference the Social Tags from the User.
    in my case editors have created pages and tagged a page using terms from the Term store.
    What I would like to see is a web part which could display “Top Keywords”, and the output is something like this:

  • How to call a method repeatedly with JSP custom tag?

    This senerio is very similar to the usage of StringBuffer.
    I have a problem which can be solved easily with scriptlets:
    <% NameValuePair nvp = new NameValuePair(request.getQueryString()); %>
    <a href="foo.html?<%=nvp.add(name1", "value1").add("name2", "value2").toString();%">">Foo</a>
    <a href="bar.html?<%=new NameValuePair(request.getQueryString()).add("x", 1).add("y", 2).toString()%>">Bar</a>
    But I cannot use scriplets because it's turned off. I can only use jsp custom tag / jstl. How would I implement this functionality with a custom tag? How would the JSP code look like? Our container supports JSP 2.0.
    Thanks.</a>

    hi,
    you can do within 2 step-
    1) use <%@page import="your_java_class"%>
    2)use scriptlet code <%...%> and write coding in this tag.
    means create instance of your java class .
    <% your_java_class obj1=new your_java_class();
         obj1.method_of_your_java_class();
    %>or
    3) you can make javabean to use method of java class.[Best option]
    Thanx

    I would like to pass a number of bind variable as an array of strings to a custom tag.
    So far I can pass an array to the tag in the following way:
    <%
    String[] bindv = {"1000","01010","EMP"};
    pageContext.setAttribute("bindv",bindv);
    %>
    <jm:q2b bind="${bindv}"/>Is there a way to do this without using the scriptlet ?

    The parameters are bind variable and usually are set from the http requestThe fact that they're bind variables doesn't make any difference. If they're passed in the request you can access them using jstl. You just need to do requestScope.bindv (replace bindv with the variable(s) name).
    If you're using an array you must know how many variables are passed, so it's easy. If you don't know just put the variables in an array (or something similar) before you put them in the request and use the forEach tag.
