No sound in playback since moving to 10.5

I have tried playing back movies created in iMovie 6 HD under 10.3. They had sound then. I now have no sound when I play the movies. The audio lines are checked. itunes works fine. It seems that I'm missing some minor detail. Thanks Ken

After the upgrade there were 2 identical copies of the shockwave flash plugin in chrome. Disabling both of them and installing the latest version of shockwave flash solved the problem.

No sound on playback since update

I've have updated to the latest Premiere and now have no audio playback.
It's not just my audio monitoring that isn't hearing the audio but even the audio monitors inside Premiere aren't responding to audio playback, even tone created inside Premiere itself.
I'm on a mac running 10.7.5. I've have had to roll back to 8.0 to keep working.
Is anyone else having the same issue or can offer some advice?

I´m having the same issue on my Win 7 workstation.
Peakmeter was showing audio - but no output on none of the available audio devices.
This happened on converted 8.0 projects as well as on a new buit 8.1 project.
Also rolled back to 8.0

And all my of my SMTPs are not working.
I've got a few different SMTPs that I send emails through (we're not talking a lot, 25-50 a day if that).
I run a whole range of websites and have an email address for each.
But since moving to BT, I've not been able to send any emails.
Please help ASAP!

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Apologies for asking some questions below :-
Can you give some indication of the error messages you are receiving ?
It sounds like you have your own domain, using specific email address setup for each website ? Or perhaps different domains ? - would that be perhaps correct ? Do you have your own mail server name for these ?
What mail client are you using ?, and have you altered any of the account settings ?

So FYI, if it's any of your business lizdance40. One thing is, if your not to give me Advise on my problem then why waste my time responding.
So here is the details.
I got an iCloud account a year ago and used all same info on my Apple ID. So my email account got hacked into about 8 months ago and I decided to get a new email on Gmail. Old one was a yahoo email. So as I tried changing everything over like iCloud and Apple ID I got a message on my iPhone to enter my password. We'll I did and it wouldn't work at all. So I tried to have the password email it to my old email account that I canceled. So I got in to it and no email was sent to that account at all. Then I went to change it all in iCloud and it asked me to answer questions to reset my password. The first question was my birthdate. I filled it in and it didn't let me in saying it was invaded date. So I informed the genus bar and they said to cancel that account because it sounds like it has been hacked into. So I have been trying to and add another one to my phone it it will not let me now. So there lizdance40. Now can you help me or tell me how stupid I am only?

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

I have Mackeeper installed and according to the scans I have run, everything is fine. No virus, no junk files . . . no problems at all . . .
Except that for all practical purposes, my computer isn't working.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive may be failing.
If you have more than ten or so files or folders on your Desktop, move them, temporarily at least, somewhere else in your home folder.
If iCloud is enabled, disable it.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable. Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.

Since moving to OS 10.7.3 one of my animations quit working in Safari

Since moving to OS 10.7.3 one of my animations quit working correctly in Safari 5.1.7 (it works correctly in all other browsers on Mac and PC). I restarted the computer to make sure that wasn't a problem. Other animations on the site are working correctly.

It's the "menu item indented on mousover animation." It's not supposed indent only one line of text.
You'll have to view it in another browser to see how it's supposed to work.
Anyone know what could be causing this?

I have created another user and both browsers are perfectly fine and instantly responsive.
My security settings are on WPA/WPA2-Personal(PSK).
Any suggestions what in my main user causes the problem?

ICal issues since moving to iCloud

I have had nothing but problems with my calendar since moving to iCloud. I have 2 desktops, both at Lion; a MBP at Lion; an iPad and an iPhone, both at iOS 5.x. Items added seem to disappear. On the laptop and desktops, even if I unclick the "on my mac" they continue to display, and are clicked automatically. Isn't the idea to get everything up on iCloud, and not on my mac at all?
Part of the frustration may be more associated with iCal itself. The "create quick event" was the worst change to this app that has ever been implemented, and I've been using iCal and a .mac account since they were first offered.
In iCal prefs, I only have 2 accounts- the work Exchange acct and my iCloud acct.and in the iCloud control panel, Calendars are checked. What am I missing?

ITunes wifi sync doesn't work since moving Mac to a new Airport

I recently moved my Mac mini which acts as an iTunes 'server' for all the other devices/computers that I have at home from being Ethernet connected to the airport base station in the middle of my network (the Time Capsule described below) to the Airport Extreme at the end of my network. Since moving this, all my devices continue to show in iTunes but if I try and initiate a wifi sync it spends 10 to 20 seconds trying to find the device and then fails (the device then shows "Sync will restart when mini becomes available" or similar). If I completely reboot all my airport base stations it seems to start working for a while. For info, I have tried disabling the Mac mini firewall but it has no impact. Sync works perfectly with a cable and used to work pretty well (but not 100% of the time) before I moved the Mac mini.
Any help or ideas would be really appreciated, my network layout is described below:
My network cosiest of a Sky TV broadband ADSL model & wifi router which provides internet and DHCP using 802.11b/g.
Connected to that via a long Ethernet cable I have a latest gen. Airport Express in a different part of the house creating a 2.4Ghz 802.11n only network with 'Allow this network to be extended' checked.
I then have a 1st gen. Time Capsule extending that network and an Airport Extreme (not the latest version) which extends the network further. If I look at the iPad Airport Utility app I see this network as a long, straight line where each extends the previous.
I have all the Apple Airport devices in 'Bridge mode' so that the Sky device is providing DHCP for the entire network.
I have an old-ish Mac Mini (Intel single core) running a fully updated version of snow leopard (can't update to Lion on a single core) with the latest version of iTunes. I have several iOS 5 devices (fully updated).

Just noticed a typo: I moved FROM plugged into the middle of the network to the END of the network and then plugged into that base stations ethernet.

Where can I obtain the compatible drivers. It would be nice if HP did not abandon some of their products as they did this one. Don't blame HP....Conexant didn't develop 64 bit drivers for their audio chip.
If you want to run W7 on that model, it will have to be 32 bit. Then you use the Vista 32 bit audio driver--probably have to manually install it too.
After you make the switch, install this card reader driver for the mass storage controller.
It will also work on W7 64 bit but without any audio, I don't see the point.

To anyone who has viewed this post and is having similar difficulties, the answer came on a different forum: I dragged & dropped the files from Mail to iCloud Drive. Opened them on my MB Air, they were saved in Templates and are now accessible across all my devices.

Have you tried adjusting the "Audio Out" and the "Dolby Digital" settings in settings > audio and video? It may be worth trying several combinations of these settings, although typically it is the "Dolby Digital" setting that causes most problems for users.
If you are using a sound system/receiver, make sure that you have correctly mapped the input port on your sound system to the output, if you are unsure about how to do this, refer to the manual that came with your sound system.
Have you tried playing various content sources (i.e. podcasts, music, iTunes Store video, other video etc), do you have the same problem with all types of content? If you use optical you might also check that you can see a red light at the end of your optical audio cable. Is your optical audio cable plugged straight into your sound system, or does it go through a switch or other device?

Since moving to the cloud can't get .mac/.me mail to work in Outlook 2011

Username is the name without the "@mac.com"
Password is my correct password
Incoming server imap.mail.me.com
Using default port (993)
Use SSL to connect (recommended) checked
Always use secure password is unchecked
Outgoing server is smtp.mail.me.com
Override Default port is checked and set to 587
Use SSL to connect is checked
Have tried both Use incoming Server info
and Username and Password (I get the same result with both)
This has been happening for days so it's not the server problems that were causing it.

Icons in MS Word changed since moving to OS 10.5

Does anybody know how to get the MS Word documents to display the icon (blue with a ‘a’ in the middle) in stead of the grey ‘Doc’ icon?
My documents did have the blue icon in 10.4 but now they al have this the grey icon since moving to 10.5.

After posting that last post, I found that the view option did not apply to other windows. I found a tip in another discussion thread: it seems that there's a glitch, so when you're on column view (or if you've just selected the desktop rather than a finde window) and you select view options, the "Use As Defaults" button does not show up. To fix that, open a finder window, select it, select list view instead of column view. The "Use As Defaults" button should appear grayed out at the bottom. Make the choices you want and you should be able to select "Use As Defaults." I just did that and am hoping that it will stick now!
