No Sound in Windows Apps when Gaming PLEASE H
I can listen to music in winamp or whatever just fine, but when I open up World of Warcraft or something all sounds in Windows MUTES. However, the sound in World of Warcraft works fine! If I let a song continue to play while I'm in WoW, and exit the game, the sound magically comes back. This isn't specific to winamp, it's ALL windows sounds. However, if I try to do Creative diagnostics while WoW is open, I can hear the speaker test, how crazy is that?
What can I do? I have all the latest drivers for all of my hardware, and I have the latest BIOS for my mobo. I've tried the SB in different PCI slots also.

ALSO, If I try to open the Creative EQ while WoW is open it says "No supported device found" or something. But If I quit WoW and try the same thing it works fine.

With Pulseaudio, no sound with other apps when jack is running
I need to be able to run other sound apps with Jack running (and, ideally, be able to route sound from those apps into Ardour via Jack). So I installed PulseAudio, along with pulseaudio-alsa, and blacklisted the snd_pcm_oss module as per the Arch wiki. At that point I logged out and back in and I still had sound in all my apps. I then set up pulseaudio over jack as per the Arch wiki instructions here:

including the scripts for qjackctl. I now have sound only in my apps that use Jack; Ardour, for instance. Can anyone help? I'm using KDE 4.6 with the Phonon-VLC backend for sound.Do some debugging first, please. The wiki instructions are really quite hackish (but there's no real good way to automate this as of now).
Kill pulseaudio, start jack (till here you're working fine I see), restart pulseaudio, try and load the jack modules and check qjackctl or pavucontrol to see if they're connected. If not, find the error logs and google them. Then come back here and ask more. -
How to turn off sound in twitter app when I scroll down?
I know there must be an easy way to do this, but I can't find it. I have twitter notification sounds turned off, which is what I want. Inside the twitter app, though, when I scroll down to see new tweets, I get a sort of suck-then-pop sound. I don't need that sound and would like to turn it off, as it irritates my spouse if she's nearby while I'm checking twitter.
Phone is iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.3Depends if the window has a separate volume control or not. You can have multiple QuickTime movies running with the sound muted in some but not others - just slide the volume all the way down in the ones you don't want to hear.
Other than that, I don't know of a way. -

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to update Pages on my iMac.
I recommend signing out of the App Store and signing back in and then trying the update again:
Sign out
Choose Store > Sign Out.
Sign in using an Apple ID
Choose Store > Sign In, or click Sign In in the Quick Links section. The Quick Links section is located in the right part of the window shown when you click Featured, Top Charts, or Categories in the toolbar.
Enter your Apple ID and password, and then click Sign In.

If you're having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
3 - try again.

Hi - in the app store, I've logged in with no problem, but when I go into my existing purchases and have INSTALL next to everything I've bought, and try to click on them it says;
"There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (100)".
I've tried restarting, clearing all caches, buying and downloading new apps (which works), and also buying and downloading more music from iTunes too (so I update all T&C's etc too, and update all payment info). What is the driver version for your NVIDIA GeForce GT640?
There is a known issue specific to Premiere Elements 10 and NVIDIA GeForce. The Announcement at the top of this forum tells it all - detailed description of problem, references, fixes, and fix details.
The following is a copy paste of that Announcement....
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card
and you are experiencing Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your
first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card driver version instead of assuring that
it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and
unexplained workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer
has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back
the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver
roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10.
Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.

I cannot get any sound on my iPad when using the remote app for home sharing, yet do have sound when I play iTunes that I have loaded on my iPad, please help?
You were on the right track. You got the connect to iTunes screen and you ended to use iTujes to restore your iPad. Try recovery mode again.
Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore iPad. -

Do you have any restrictions for purchasing apps on the phone? Settings > General > Restrictions. If you have a Mac computer or another Apple device can you purchase things in the App Store using the same Apple ID on something else?

I can't open mail on Hotmail from Firefox. I can from Safari.
