No Video (mimetype error) but audio

I'm trying to post a video. I have it as an mp4, ogv, webm, and flv. And I have the following tags in my page

When I have the videos in this order, Firefox (18.0.2, Mac) will display the following message:
Video format or MIME type is not supported
but it will play the audio.
If I reverse the two video tags Firefox, will play fine. But, then Safari shows no video (but, plays sound). Since I want the mp4 as the primary, what could be causing Firefox NOT to skip the first (mp4) video tag and move on to the ogg one?
I'm confident my MIME types are correct. This is my .htaccess file:

You can place the two files in one video tag and use the source tag to specify the various formats.
If it is encoded as WebM, why don't you give it a .webm file extension or specify the type as video/ogg if you use an ogg container?

Also make sure that the ogv video is encoded with a supported codec, try to open the file directly in a tab to see if that works.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

If you use an HDMI cable, the audiostream will be integrated, so there will be sound when using an HDMI cable!
Not necessarily. That only works as stated if you have one of the most recent MBP's that has a built-in HDMI port.
If the MBP only has a Thunderbolt or miniDisplayPort, you need an appropriate adapter cable and even if you use an HDMI adapter or cable to connect to your HDTV there is no guarantee it will carry audio. You have to determine if your specific MBP model supports audio out through its miniDisplayPort or Thunderbolt output, and whether the adapter does likewise.

Youtube video is blank,but audio played well. other browser such as chrome got no problem with it. FF Developer Edition.

Audio/video chat works but audio only doesn't

Audio-video chats (both 2-way and one-way) work, but audio ONLY chats don't work (connection error). One machine is running 10.4.2 and the other 10.3.9. Doesn't seem like this would be a firewall or bandwidth issue if AV chats are working fine. Why would this happen?

I have the same issue, as well as the other iChat issues on other posts. When our offices (SF area & LA area, CA, US) were on 10.3.9, no problems with audio or video chats (we all have AIM screen names). Then the boss upgraded to 10.4.1. He could a/v chat with anyone inside our network and could video (with sound) with the other office, but not audio only. When he is at home he could a/v with anyone. We upgraded one more computer in our office to 10.4.1 and it was able to audio chat to other Tiger machines outside the office, but not Panther machines (can chat with anyone inside too). Now the boss and I have upgraded these same machines to 10.4.2 and the audio chat doesn't work outside the office anymore and we still can't chat with Panther machines outside the office.
Our office has Netopia Cayman 3546-002 ADSL Broadband Gateway on SBC Yahoo DSL at 4936 kbps down/493 kbps up. I called Netopia and had them help me open up the ports (I had them look at the apple tech document so they could help me get it right). It has NAT enabled and all the computers on this LAN have static addresses. Most of the computers access the LAN through the airport express (which just bounces the signal from the wired side). I think we have port forwarding or mapping set up for our two servers...the router looks at the address from the WAN side and routes it to the address on the LAN side. Firmware is up to date on the router.
I did not originally set up this network and have spent much time reading the user manual for the modem/router (it's a combo device) and trying suggestions here and from Level 2 at Apple. They say it is our network, but I don't know how to fix it.
I don't think this router has any UPnP capability, that I could find in the manual. Also what is SIP? I need a description of it or at least what that acronym stands for. Also, I've seen stuff about using the Terminal to change the telenet port. This routers telenet is set to 23, that should be fine for iChat, right? No conflict?

No video in monitor,but, audio plays when playing timeline CS5.5.1

In one sequence only, no video plays in monitor, but, audio is heard. What have I done ?
The same H.264 mov clips when set in new sequence plays ok ?

I accidentally hit Toggle Track Output "EYE" Key and, disabled the monitor, to the left of the Opacity handle, in 6 years on other Premiere Pro I have never done that , the darkened display did not help, even Automate to Sequence seemed to disappear in CS5.5.1. But, all is now well thanks to you both it gave me the clue.

Export videos to YouTube but audio isn't there after exporting

I exported my video to YouTube via Quicktime but audio isn't there after I go to the YouTube link. I turned up my volume all the way but no sound comes out. I JUST upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6.8 TODAY ON JUNE 23RD! Has anyone else experienced this AFTER upgrading to 10.6.8? With 10.6.7 I could export videos perfectly. AND AFTER upgrading to 10.6.8, it takes FOREVER for the video to export to YouTube. It takes hours!

OK so I tried a few more videos. The first had the problem but the several more I tried a few more and they worked fine. Then I went back to the first and it started working fine again. So the problem seems to have gone away.

MPEG-4 video gives still but audio plays FW 3.1.3

Hi, I have a Iphone 3GS 32 with 3.1.3 installed and discovered that MPEG-4 files don't play video and some H264 video stops after c.a. 40 seconds for c.a. 60 seconds.
I have tried to convert with Itunes, but Itunes gives the message that the fileformat is correct and does not have conversion neceserry.
Withe the MP4 issue the audio sounds good and my screen is displaying a stil with a green bar right below. On 3.1.2 everithing was all right. I have tried to downgrade to 3.1.2 but that is restricted.
I have checked the playing of the same files on my old 3G 16 with 3.1.2 and the files are playing well.
I also discovered with playing H264 files that the stop after ca 40 seconds for 1 minute and then go on. The movie time us running from 0:40 - 1:48 but audio and video stops. After the 1:48 the movie is continuing well????
In the Ipod discussions i saw same issue wit FW 3.1.3, but i have posted it also in the Iphone discussion.
Hopefully Aplle fixes this verry soon!!

I have downloaded the latest Danuisoft DVD ripper and ripped the movies again and they run in 320*240 H264 and MPEG-4 format.
Strange that they run in the 3.1.2 FW and not in the 3.1.3 FW. Maybe someting to dow with the solved MPEG-4 flaw.
So now i have to convert my 30 movies again.

I am concerning also the right choice of the 3GS. It is faster, but i get anoying messages about diverting when i call somebody, i have to convert my movies again. But stil its faster.
On my good old 3G that was jailbroken and i could customize al the anoying messages and now Apple is avoiding all this customizing by FW's that could not be customized. Why not an open system so that i can choose by miself as user of a beautyfull piece of technology that supports me on the road with Phone, Internet, AV, Entertainement and Land/Nautical Navigation aids.
So next sunday it wil be bad wether so that i can take the time to do the converting work.

Premiere cc 14 video is freezing but audio plays? Mac

I am in OS 10.9.3 3.5ghz intel for i7 iMac 32 gb memory, and timeline playback works for a while and then freezes, but audio continues to play. This is really slowing down the edit. Help Please? !

If Safari is the only browser you are having problems with dealing with QT see if the following is of any help:
To fix a QT related problem w/Safari, quit Safari & look in the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder (this is the Library folder at the root level of your HD, not the one inside your Users/user name folder).
Try removing the VLC Plugin.plugin (if you have it) & QT Plugin.plugin files from this folder, & then relaunch Safari. If the problem isn’t fixed, a different plug-in may be to blame. Keep removing files from this folder (start with any third-party plug-ins that are present) until the problem disappears.
Replace the plug-ins that don’t cause any problems.

Flash video goes green, but audio continues with 10.1

Ever since I upgraded to flash 10.1 I can be watching a video from any flash site and it will go all green, The video driver crashes but I continue to hear the sound. If I change resolution, the video comes back temporarily. I am on version 10,1,82,76 and have the latest Nvidia drivers installed. This happens on two 64 bit windows 7 machines. One running a geforce 9600gt and core 2 duo with 4 gig RAM , the other a geforce 8600gts core 2 quad and 4 gig RAM. I am using IE8 but I think I have seen it in firefox too. Anybody know of a fix?

IPod Touch 4gen - connected to car - how to view video on iPod but audio through car?

I'll be taking a roadtrip and have loaded up my iPod with movies/tv shows, etc. When I plug my iPod into either of our two car's USB ports and play a video, the audio comes through the car's speakers perfectly, but my iPod thinks it is connected to a TV and will only display:
(TV Connected - This video is playing on the TV)
I would like to be able to keep the video displaying on the iPod and have the audio coming through the car's speakers. Is this possible?
(No, the driver will not be watching the iPod while driving; also the car we're taking does not have bluetooth or a 3.5mm input.) Thanks!

Audio is not decoding properly on text messages sent from Motorola Android. Video plays fine but audio is unintelligible chirping.

I have iphone4. Some inbound text messsages with imbedded video clips do not play the audio properly. Audio chirps as if bad decode. Is there firmware/software updates or other apps to help with this issue?

Harm, I didn't pay attention to those settings, I should have. I got hung up in the preset names and figured those were my only choices. How green I am, lol. I made a preset with a Target of 4 (max 6) and VBR 1 Pass, and I knocked the audio down to 128K being it's just speech, and it all worked great. The new file plays in both players perfectly and also plays on my iPad with no jitter. Filesize is about 240mb but that's fine, it works. Problem solved and in the books. BTW, I use a GTX570.
Jim, I agree, VLC is super, it was the only player that would play 5D Mark II files right out of camera back in 2008, on my dual core Dell laptop with a cheesy Nvidia 7900 graphics card. Problem is, the majority of people I'm sending these MP4s to are Mums & Dads in our church, etc, and you know quite well that those folks are running some consumer Dell or HP setup they bought at Costco on closeout.
Funny backstory, when the 5D2 came out in Sept 2008, that was what thrust me into video. So I immediately bought the Prod Premium CS4 Suite (already owned Photoshop for a few years being a stills guy) and installed it on that Dell 17" laptop I mentioned above. After getting the 5D2 finally in Jan 2009, I actually had the nerve to take my first attempt at creating a video in Premiere and encoding it on that laptop. I literally had to kill AME partway through because I was seconds away from burning out my processor (I had been using RealTemp because of how hot that thing ran using Word, lol). It was that event that made me convince myself to start researching how to build a real editing PC (using an i7 920 at the time). I probably drove Harm nuts back then with all my questions, lol! But this rig has been my workhorse and has been through countless upgrades, the only thing remaining from the original 2009 build is the case and the power supply.

Xha1 24F footage Video plays fast but Audio is normal. PPro 2.0

Hey Gang, I am having some trouble with my 24f footage from my xha1 into PPro 2.0. I have installed the canon F presets and imported footage using the 24f setting but when I play it back in the timeline my video/audio is out of sync. Even when I export it nothing changes. My video is playing to fast, but my audio is normal. I have played around with unlinking footage and trying to find the correct video speed, with no luck. I have also tried using the footage on 30f timelines with no luck either.
I have looked around for the answer but nothing of this particular issue has come up.
Any thoughts?

Apart from the much better job done by freeware like HDVSplit or shareware like Scenalyzer, than has ever been delivered by Adobe for $$$, it is worth noting that all HDV cameras, like the H1, A1, G1, Z1 and all the other models available, have one thing in common. They all use a tape recording mechanism.
People often forget that this tape mechanism runs at a pre-defined speed, enabling 50Hz (PAL) or 60Hz (NTSC). Nothing else. Even if you set your camera to 24P or 24F or whatever other settings are available in the camera, the tape speed is not changed. The tape runs at the same speed regardless of your camera settings. Keep that in mind when capturing.

Why the video playback stotter but audio is ok and all system resources are ok as well?

I'm using Premiere Elements 12 and prepared a project using m2ts files of my sony camera. When I started the project, everything was find, editing easy. Now, some months later I wanted to finish the project on the same laptop ( Intel Cor i5-4200 2,50GHz, 8GB RAM, 64 bit Windwos 8.1, 1TB Hybrid HDD, dual graphic: Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA GeForce GT740M). The system resources are not completly used during the playback, maybe 10 - 15% usage, RAM is between 20 and 50% usage, harddrive usage is between 10 and 40% usage. Video data are stored local on the harddrive (not on USB or network).
When I open the original files in e.g. VLC or Media Player the playback is perfect, no interupts. The playback of rendered elements in Premiere Elements is without interupts as well. Only "native", untouched HD material stotters after a short time I'm working on the project. It's the same for other videos, when I start a new project. It's anoying me because it was the reason why I decided for the SW.
I deinstalled Premiere Elements completly, used also CCleaner to remove unused registry entries... reinstalled it completly after some restarts... updated to 12.1.0.0 but after an afternoon of installation, the same issue is back.
Who can help me to fix it? Thanks for your feedback.

Player version 7.1.6 is a very old version but it should play H264 / AAC videos without issue.

Videos not displaying but audio is working

I am trying to access videos online. I have done all updates I can think of. I have restarted the machine numerous times. I have exhausted my knowledge of fixes. When accessing videos via youtube, or other media sites, I am unable to view them cleanly. They are very choppy, they skip, and sometimes just dont show at all. However, the audio works perfectly. I have no problem hearing the video, it is just viewing. I have also noticed the advertisements on the edges of most websites seem to do the same thing; they will either flicker or not show up at all. Does anyone know how to repair this problem?
Also, do I update to Mac OS X (10.6.8)?

My guess is that you're trying to watch HD YouTube videos with a less than satisfactory connection speed. When I'm at home, YouTube works perfectly with my overpriced internet connection. If I'm staying at a hotel, with bad speed, I get choppy video.
Also, Flash has terrible memory leaks. If you don't force quit Flash every once in a while it starts to use up so much memory that it might cause an issue. I go into Activity Monitor and kill Flash every time I think there's a problem.
