Nodes in hierarchy

Hi All,
is it possible to create variables so that user can select the individual nodes in a hierarchy.

Fixed hierarchy variable hierarchy node ...
       1.      In the top left of the selection field, choose Single values and the required hierarchy from the top right corner.
       2.      Select the Variables tab page.
       3.      Select the required variable from the list of available variables on the left-hand side. (If not exist create by using Variable wizard http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c1/759b3c4d4d8d15e10000000a114084/frameset.htm)
       4.      Select the required variable and drag it into the Selection box on the right (or use the arrow icon pointing to the right).

How to include the not assigned nodes in Hierarchy structure

Hi Experts,
I am running a report which has got Hierarchy variable type. After execution of the query some of the nodes appear always under "not assigned".
Please let me know is it possible to include these not assigned node under hierarchy structure.If so how to do that?

Hi Subbiah.
You can also supress the "not assigned" nodes in the hierarchy maintanence by choosing: Hierarchy attributes -> Supress unassigned nodes.

Nodes in hierarchy viewer

Hi,
in hierarchy viewer we have option to display no of nodes .
now I want to display those no of nodes on the top of the page .
If I have master-child-sub child in the hierarchy viewer, then I have to display like nodes in child level-- 5(or i have to choose) nodes in sub child level--3(list of values 1,2,3,....)
how can I display like this???
does any one know about this?

Display a particular node of Hierarchy in the Report.

I have an urgent requirement that i have to display only a particular node(5) of Hierarchy in the Bw Report , I have tried different options available in the Hierarchy tab (That is Expand to level 5 , Position of lower node - Above , Value of posted node - Hide ) . But stil it is displaying 5 and then 4 node , but i don't want that 4 node .
Can anybody gine me some useful suggestion .

Hi Akash,
- To show only particular nodes of a hierarchy in the Excel sheet:
Step 1: include the base characteristic
Step 2: select the hierarchy (properties of the characteristic) - (display key only)
Step 3: user restrict (from context menu of the characteristic) on the nodes that you want to display.
Step 4: expand to level: 1 (properites of the characteristics)
This should serve the purpose. I know it is a little late, but it might be helpful in the future

Manually input ( or type ) the value of the node in hierarchy

Dear all,
I have the following requirement :
In the query, I am using a hierarchy node variable. Now, by default, on the selection screen the valued can be passed to this hierarchy node var. by a drill down on the hierarchy on which the variable is created and selecting one of the nodes.
Now, I would like to manually input ( or type ) the value of the node instead of performing the drilldown on the hierarchy and selecting the node..
It is this possible for a hierarchy node variable ?

Hi Carlos,
You create a Variable with following selections
Type of variable : Hierarchy node
processing : Manual Input/Default value
Reference Char : Mention the CHAR that contain this hierarchy
Define it as SIngle value & Mandatory entry.user can see all the nodes in F4 help and selects the node as he wants

Show selected nodes of hierarchy in query

Hey Folks,
I'd like to display a hierarchy in a query. The user has to select the interested nodes and then show them as queryresult. In this context it doesn't matter if there are posted values or not.
I tried a query without any keyfigure. This query is a basic result for something else.
The problem is I use a hierarchy and select a top node and a node one level lower, but it shows me only the top node?
Does anybody has an idea?

Insert Nodes into Hierarchy via ABAP Program

Hello,
I want to create ABAP program to insert nodes into a hierarchy.
I got a class CL_RSSH_HIERMAINTAIN_FRONT with method INSERT_NODES_HIERARCHY .
But the method is private and cannot be used in the ABAP call.
I also don't want a pop up which asks for the action on duplicate nodes.
Can anyone guide me a bit here ?
Any help would be appreciated.

Duplicate nodes in hierarchy

Hi all,
I am currently working on building dynamical (build via FM) hierarchies. My problem is as following:
How can I build a hierarchy that uses masterdata texts for its nodes that can be multiple times in the hierarchy?
See product hierarchy example:
Site A (Nodename=SITEA)
-- Product Group 1 (PRODGR1)
-- -- Product 1
-- -- Product 2
-- Product Group 2 (PRODGR2)
Site B (SITEB)
-- Product Group 1 (PRODGR1)
-- -- Product 3
-- -- Product 4
-- Product Group 2 (PRODGR2)
This hierarchy wouldn't be generated because of the duplicate node names on level 2 (i.e. PRODGR1).
So how can I build up a hierarchy as above when I want to show the product group texts from its masterdata. The only way I see is to make the product group nodes identically (build NODENAME from combination of SITE and PRODGR) and build the description by my own. Does anybody know a nicer solution for this?

have you tried to use/generate the links in your hierarchy.
This is the standart way to have some master data value several times in one hierarchy.

Hi Frank,
Another way would be to restrict the hierarchy in the query definition. Select all nodes, except the root. You can do the same in excel and save the query as a view. Of course, you have to maintain this selection every time the hierarchy gets new nodes.

Not all nodes of hierarchy are visible in BPS

Hi experts!
Problem in SEM-BPS. I have a hierarchy on characteristic 0ORGUNIT.
When I try to expand the hierarchy completely I don't see the lowest
nodes (or leafs).

Hi,
maybe this is a buffering problem (BPS buffers BI hierarchies on the application server). Execute the report UPC_HIEBUFFER_DELETE on all applications servers and check the hierarchy again.

Data for a node in Hierarchy not displayed in BEx report.

I have a time dependent hierarchy on 0ORGUNIT. There is a report which displays employee wise, ORGUNIT wise data. This report is based on a Infocube which also has 0ORGUNIT updated in it as a charecteristic.
When i view the contents of the cube for a particular orgunit (5000397), employee (5980) for a particular time range (01.01.2011 - 16.01.2011), it gives me some data. However when i execute a report in BEx (7.0) with the same restrictions; it shows 'No applicable data found'.
In the query designer I have corectly assigned the hierarchy properties to 0ORGUNIT with the hierarchy name, version and date (last date of the user entered time range). Also the hierarchy has been uploaded with the latest data i.e. for orgunit 50000397 there is an entry for the period: 01.09.2009 - 31.12.9999.
Can you please suggest.

Can you check and make sure..that there are no other Global filters in the Query Design..

Mapping tool: mapping child nodes (level2 hierarchy) to bapi wrapper fields

I'm new to MI7.1. I'll try the demo on help.sap.com. I have following data object EQUIPMENT with node structure in DOE:
ROOTNODE (attr: EQUIPMENT_ID/ SERIAL_NO)
child node level 1 DETAILS (attr: SERIAL_NO/TYPE/BRAND/INSTRUCTIONS)
child node level 2 LOCATION (attr: SERIAL_NO/ADDRESS_LINE1/
ADDRESS_LINE2/ZIP_CODE/...)
In backend my bapi wrapper is build using structures:
TOP: ZSEQUIPMENT (attr: EQUIPMENT_ID/SERIAL_NO)
010: ZSEQUIPMENT_DET(attr: SERIAL_NO/TYPE/BRAND/INSTRUCTIONS)
020: ZSLOCATION(attr: SERIAL_NO/ADDRESS_LINE1/...)
When i want to use mapping tool in middleware for the backend adapter, after mapping the fields, during activation i get the error:
Referential integrity between node DETAILS and it's parent is not complete.
Referential integrity between node LOCATION and it's parent is not complete.
What does that mean? How can I solve this?

How to hide a single value node hierarchy in the query designer

Hi,
I would like to perform a calculation in the infocube. It concern a count "Nb of different customers" with the following hierarchy : Country / region / City.
This KF would be read at the same time by city, region and country, and certain customers exist in 2 different region, and I have to count them only once by country.
To do this, I added a new record (at the country level when loading infocube) to deduct a number of customers in doubloons.
This line added contain only a country code and the number of cutomers in doubloons (- 23 when I have 23 cutomers in doublons) with revrese sign.
Now, I would like to use this value (-23) to have a right Nb of different customers by country, without showing the not assigned line in the report hierarchy.
How can I hide, in the query designer or the WAD, a single value node from hierarchy (NOT assigned) but take in account the value (-23) at the country level ?
Is there another solution (more simple) to perform this in the infocube ?
For information,
1) The infocube is loaded once per month, and the KF (Nb of different customers" is also performed by month.
2) I can't perform this in the report (performance problem with calculated KF).

the short answer is "you can't", the longer is: The ADF Faces tree component is stamped for better performance. This stamping means that nodes are not rendered as JSF objects but copies of an existing component (just with a changed value). For this reason the nodes don't issue their own query for data and thus cannot be refreshed individually

0ORGUNIt time dependent hierarchy not showing all valid nodes in BO , but in BW its correctly shown

Hi All,
We have 0ORGUNIT hierarchy shown in one of the Webi reports. 0ORGUNIT is time dependent hierarchy.
In BW report we can see below nodes for hierarchy
Hierarchy                     Valid From         Valid To
Z05 Root Company        01.07.2013        31.12.9999 - Parent node
    Z05 Branch 2                 01.10.2013        31.12.9999 - Child Node
    Z05 Division                   09.12.2013        31.12.9999 - Child Node
In BO webi we can see only two nodes
Z05 Root Company        01.07.2013        31.12.9999 - Parent node
       Z05 Division                   09.12.2013        31.12.9999 - Child Node
Any idea why in BO webi the other node is not shown ? This is happening only for time dependent hierarchy and only in BO not in BW.

Hi Shraddha ,
Check at webi query panel level any restrictions applied to hierarchy levels.
Check at BEx query level,select 0ORGUNIT ,hierarchy -Expand to level .
Here specify Max level.
lastly, check any filters/restrictions applied on data.If yes,remove restrictions.

Hierarchy Nodes Display problem in the query

Hi
I have an organizational hierarchy upto 6 levels of nodes.
When it is displyed in the query only the first three levels are getting displayed.
When i see in the restricted area ( when restricting values ) i find all the nodes displayed but when query is executed i dont see anything.
Are there setting thats needs to be made in order to see the entire hierarchy.

When you restrict any query you can see all the nodes of hierarchy, but when you run it you can see only those nodes for which value exists in infoprovider.
Corss check if you have any other restrictions also.
