Hi all!
I bought my (first) Nokia smartphone in January this year: Nokia 5530.
Since then, no updates was released for my device.
Nokia forget 5530 as like 5800. Now only C / E series, N8, N9, and low-price like 52xx.
Recently new update was released for C6, 5230 and 5233 devices with Ovi Maps 3.06, Browser 7.3 Anna-like, Emoticons input, general improves and more.
Now, my Nokia 5530 is very poor and forgeted:
Don't have widgets, don't support IM for Nokia (i tested it and loved), Nokia Browser is terrible, and others resource is very obsolete.
I saw the C6, the images/videos viewer is very much better, you can categorize with folders, favorite photos, and music player now support lyrics.
Days ago I installed a C6 port to 5530 (I transformed my 5530 in C6), and now my device has widgets, IM for Nokia and all i mentioned in here, but in very lag, the "Memory is full, close some apps and try again" message appears all time, much bored. Then I back yesterday to original firmware 32.0.0.7. I also have put in ALL MUSICS (300+) image covers and lyrics to use in cfw, but now in original don't have this, and I much sad.
What I want?
Want that Nokia don't forget users, because my first smartphone made my a Nokia lover, and I liking this. But i don't have money to buy a new smartphone (i want N8) because here in Brazil (where I live) is much expensive price.
Well, please Nokia, release a nice update for us Nokia 5530 users, even if not with widgets support, but with IM for Nokia, new browser/Ovi maps, lyrics support in Music Player, More organized images/videos viewer and more stabilities and improvements in cinetic scroll, etc.
I love Nokia and want to continue loving.

The 5530 is an older device than the C6. The 5800 wasnt exactly forgotten, but its normal for nokia phones to lose updates once the unit is about a year and a half to two years old. The 5530 is almost two years old already (it will turn two this august), so its not unusual that it wont receive updates anymore.
Its not exactly Nokia's fault that you bought an outdated phone.

Nokia 5530 XM Touchscreen (red button) not working...

I bought my nokia 5530 for about 4 months and i had dropped it a couple of times..
But before that it did not experience any serious damage.
It was until recent i accidently dropped it AGAIN and i found out that the red button is not working anymore.
Is there any solution to fixed it??

Nokia 5530 TV-out mode?

Does the Nokia 5530 support TV-out mode, where one can connect the phone to a TV with a compatible cable?

It says Nokia 5530 and anyways they only have put 5330 once-it was probably a mistype.
However they do show the nokia 5330 tv edition while stating its a 5530 so I don't know

Nokia 5530 Receives Pictures That Are Too Small

I have a Nokia 5530 and when I get a picture message it comes out really small. This is really frustrating as I sometimes like to save the pictures on my computer. My previous phone was a Nokia 5300 and the pictures I received on this phone were a lot bigger. Is there anything I can do allow my phone to receive bigger pictures?

I just signed up as I'm having the same problem with my N79.
There very little out there for this problem.
First make sure that in your message options the 'Image Size' is set to 'Large'
I've done that on my N79 but there is another reason that i'm getting such small msg's;
From the research I've done it seems it's down to the mobile operator (In my case o2).
When you recieve a picture message the message centre looks at your handset and looks at the information it has on its database.
As o2 doesn't list my N79 as a supported handset its msgcentre doesn't have information on what the maximum supported resolution is.
As it can't resolve what size msg the phone can receive it sends it on as the smallest possible, good for wide-range handset compatibility but bad for my picture msg size which come down at a weeny 5kb!

NOKIA 5530 Xpress Music, Wont Connect To Home Rout...

I have recently brought a Nokia 5530..
I have a Netgear MIMO WPN824 router with WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] security, with password over 20 char..
I have a laptop, Xbox, Iphone and other items connected to the router without a problem.
When I first got the phone I put in the password and it connected, I browsed a few web pages without a problem for a few mins.. I then tried to download something and the connection went, now cant connect at all??? It just says connecting and does nothing else.
I have deleted and then tried to add the access point back on the phone but this hasn't helped?
I'm pretty computer minded so if its a detailed fix on the phone please let me know and I should be able to attempt it?

Same here, looks like this phone cant handle WPA2 keys larger than 40 chars... I had an 63 chars key and have to low it down till 40 characters to get proper working WiFi in this mobile. Sigh...

Document Viewer for Nokia 5530 XPressMusic

Hi everyone!
I bought myself the nokia 5530 last week, and today I tried to open a pdf file, and the phone couldn't open it. I thought it had a document viewer and I checked it again on the Nokia site for it's specifications. There it was under specs "document viewer". Now my question is: How do I install it. Because I checked everywhere and I can't find that app on my phone. It also is not included on the CD which came with the package.
I bought myself the 5530 because it had a document viewer. I like to have my slides with me of the class I'm attending, I hated to bring my laptop to class everyday for just the slides which is why I bought this phone.

The specifications for 5233 cleaerly state that Documents such as Word, Excel & powerpoint can be viewed. However after purchasing the handset it was not available. On contacting Nokia I was first told to download the same from www.quickoffice.com. When it dd not work, I was told that the model did not support the document viewer, then I was told to update the mobiles softwarre. After all this when it did not work, i was told to go to www.adobe.com.
Later I was told that it was available in a few handsets as a promotional item and now is no longer available. Nokia is out to cheat people by giving wrong information on their website.

I have a Nokia 5530 half-year and the software is my 20th edition and now has 32. But I can not frequently updated phone in any way. I tried from the phone in all ways - there can not bind to the server of Nokia. I downloaded your Ovi - there writes me that there is not a new version for my phone (as long as I can see in the website of Nokia that there is new). Restart the setings to the factory one but again the same.
Today I do not know how it managed to download the new version, but starts to install it, restart the phone and then says that this software is not compatible with this phone.
Do some one know why this phone just don't want to be updated any way?

Updates depend on region / Product Code.. Also.. if your phone is Network Locked then the update is possible only after an approval from the Operator..

NOKIA 5530 need help...

Hello everyone .. I can somehow fix my Nokia 5530 XpressMusic phone? I am installing software suddenly my phone to power down and when I try to turn on the phone menu button lights up and shuts down! and do not go on .. anyone can help me? which program should I install to be able to do something about it?

Anna on 5530? I don't think Nokia has released Anna for the 5530. If you downloaded the update from the internet then you could contact the developer for support.

Nokia 5530 battery stripes problem

I've had some troubles before with my screen going black and then the phone turning off, but now I got a problem with the battery stripes. After I charge my phone it says 7 stripes and when I start using him, it will stay at 7 stripes until I restart him, then some stripes are disappeared and the stripes go away normally again. Yesterday it went from 7>6 stripes and when I restarted him there were only 4 stripes left. I really don't understand what could be wrong, but I can now never know well when my battery should be charged...

I have Nokia 5530 with firmware v11.0.xx and it has Farsi language. I tried to update its firmware to V20.0.xx. After update, my phone does not have Farsi language.

My device product code is 0577686 that indicate "RM-504 CIS WHITE_BLUE" and does not support Farsi language. May be updated illegally before. But is there any legal way to install Farsi language-set on this?

Nokia 5530 - Video Cable (CA-75U)

I'm not sure if the CA-75U video cable supports the Nokia 5530.
According to this topic the Nokia 5800 does.
And the Nokia 5530 and the 5800 are mostly the same.
A page on eBay says it does.
There are forums where they say it doesn't, other sites say it does.
I don't know it anymore.
Is there even any possibility to connect the nokia 5530 to a tv?

No, I don't mean Symbian 3 on 5530 (or another S60 5ED.)
I mean a Software update whit new E-mail, New Gallery APP, and some other stuffs, I just wanna to see a integration of Symbian S60 5ED, for example Nokia C5-4 has tap to unlock, Nokia 5530 dind't, C6 has a better gallery and e-mail app, 5530 has a decent gallery app and **bleep** e-mail app (i don't support HTLM view by default), and why not, I want the widgets on homescreen (present in C6 and N97 series).
And from Symbian 3 I just wanna the menu and virtual keyboard layout (the Keyboard has been ported, but tha should be by default on a new SW update), that's not hardware related thing, that's software.

Nokia 5530 Express Music - Bluetooth connection ck...

I have a new VW Passat with a audiocenter RS 510 and optional carkit by Parrot (CK 300). Almost every Nokia I tried works perfectly, except my 5530. The pairing and connection is no problem, outgoing calls work fine, but incoming calls are impossible :
- the carkit doesn't take over the ringtone selected in the phone (by other Nokia models it dos)
- the carkit only rings once, immediately and automatically it switch back to the phone
- if I succeed to answer, my contacts understand my call perfect, but I can't hear them.
The carkit and audiocenter are already replaced once, the problem is for sure with the phone, and very strange, only with incoming calls.

You have to set up a internet accesspoint under destinations as described on page 100 of the English manual.

I purchased a Nokia 5530 from yourselves on the back of Nokia's Comes With Music promotion. On their website, they state in multiple places that this phone is part of that promotion. They even explicitly state that phones that are compatible with the service and are bought from Carphone Warehouse (http://www.nokiamusic.co.uk/#/faq/) are part if the CWM service. Yet, there was no CWM literature in the phone's box nor was their the PIN number necessary for the service. I contacted the local store and was told, categorically, that Nokia's information was incorrect and that the CWM service is exclusive to Phones4U. This is in direct contravention of the Nokia's own information, the people running the service.
I am not the only one to have this problem. Many dissastisified customers have posted to the Nokia's support forums about this. Some bought phones from you, actually recieved the PIN number that they were promised only to have it rejected by Nokia's Music Store.
What is going on, what is the deal here. Are you operating a regional thing, customers in some areas get the service, other's don't. If you buy from a shop you get an invalid pin, if you buy through the website you get no pin at all?
Let's see how they respond.
