Nokia 6680 updates.

hii, i just updates my phone nokia 6680. before this it is v4.04.07, but after i updates using nokia software updater, now is v4.04.34. the difference is v4.04.34 have a big font and cannot set the display(phone book, msg, etc..) in front the screen.
as i know, now the latest version for nokia 6680 is v5.04.07. how can i get this version using nokia website?
can anyone help me on this?

Is your phone a network-branded one? If that is the case Nokia can only offer software updates for your product code when the operator approves them.

Thank you for your post. To update your Nokia 6680, you need to download Nokia PC Suite on your PC and install it. After the installation, open it and plug in your device to your PC with the USB cable, once it recognises your device it should search automatically for the latest update.

Nokia 6680 firmware update

Has anyone else had trouble updating the nokia 6680 firmware. My current firmware is V3.04.11 and i have read that the new version is V5.04.07 but the updater says there is no updates for my phone.

Or [latest version] for your operator variant... If you have operator spesific phone it's SW releases are approved by operator and Nokia's updater apparently is kind enough to install only latest version of whatever your dear operator has approved for you. My 6680 (generic, non-subsidised version) updated to 5.04.07 just fine with the updater.

Nokia 6680 new firmware?

Did Nokia realese new firmware for Nokia 6680?:

I was just checking for the new firmware for Nokia 6680,
via Nokia Software Updater. And I was surprise to find there are
new updates. Then I upgrade my 6680 from v5.04.07 to v5.04.40.
After upgrade, I notice that there are some difficulties in making & receiving calls, and sending SMS. I'm staying in Malaysia and using Celcom 3G. I refer the provider on this matter, and they said their network is ok.
Could it be the upgrades?
What are the changelog for v5.04.40

Yeah, that's what I thought. An upgrade is suppose to improve the use. Unless, the new firmware has a tiny bug, or it's an unofficial release. I looked up in the Internet, so far, no info about the new firmware.
Can Nokia release an unofficial firmware?

Nokia 6680 Spanish language lost

I own a Nokia 6680 with product code 0521642 brought in Spain. Today I updated it with NSU (never had updated it before) and it has rebooted with english language. It doesn't give me the option to change it, only English, German and Turkish are available as languages. What should I do?

Your 6680 was not a Spanish version originally, the update restored the original languages.
If you take it to a local service centre and explain situation they can advise you further.

Help need : NOKIA 6680

Hi Im using nokia 6680 since last a year...n now i am having problem with my camera......when i press camera option, its not responding..when it responding...camera is not switching on...pls explain me the problem.....n my system some times get restarts automatically..... urgent help needed....

Does it help, if you remove the memory card? If so, something's wrong with the card.

Problem Downloading Nokia Software Updater

Hi. This is my first time using this board so bare with me. Everytime I try and download the program 'Nokia Software Updater' for my N80 I constantly get the error message that I require 256MB free space and then the installation shuts down completely. Currently my system has 51GB free space on the drive and obviously has plenty of room. Anyone else ever suffer the same problem when downloading or know how to solve the problem? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think it is referring to RAM. If you only have 256RAM and you have a graphic card that takes 64 then you don't have enough and need to use a computer with more RAM.

Nokia 6680 can't be added in iSync 3.0 - fresh Leopard install

In Leopard (10.5), the Bluetooth setup assistant only gives me the option to use my Nokia 6680 as a modem. No options to sync it with the address book or the calendar. iSync finds the device, but says 'iSync cannot connect to this device'.
I have been able to sync my address book and calender in Tiger for some time now (I don't remember in which minor version update it was introduced).
The phone is still listed as supported on Apple's web pages. It is also mentioned in /Applications/iSync.app/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/ PlugIns/PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin/Contents/Resources/MetaClasses.plist
However, it does not have its own folder under /Applications/iSync.app/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/ PlugIns like many other phone models.
The Nokia software on my phone is (no vendor lock etc.)

I didn't think of deleting the old iSync agent on the phone - being used to the Mac just working out of the box
Mine also hung on 33 % progress for five minutes, but then it progressed and finished; importing all my contacts and calendars from the phone.
The 33 % for five minutes progress hang happened only on the first sync.

Nokia 6680 V 5.04.07 portuguese language

Hi there!
I have updated to the last firmware version available for Nokia 6680 (5.04.07) and i live in Portugal, but the portuguese language is not available! I have updated second time because i noticed that some users had that issue with another phones but i only have English, French and Dutch as available languages in the new firmware.

Nokia 6680 in US

Anyone in the US with a Nokia 6680 besides me? I've had problems with my phone, bought used and after inquiring with Nokia Malaysia and Nokia Thailand (I think) I was informaed that one of the possible reason why my phone acts up could be because I am using it in the US instead of whenre it was intended.
Anyone else knows if this is correct or not? I mean i thought the phone's capability it can be used world wide. (I could be wrong).
Service is with ATT is that matters. I appreciate any feedback from anyone.

Thanks for your reply. Well, when I decribed my issue on the forum, almost everyone says it sounds like a sofware issue and that I should update the software on my phone. when I attempted to update, it says phone has latest version. so still no solution.
contacted Nokia Malaysia and Thailand both says I have to send the phone in for service and say they say it would not be worth it because it will cost me a lot to fix, plus i'm in the US.

I have Nokia 6680 mobile, as i read it production date is 2005, and nokia corporation stopped production of it....
*Now i have some question about its support, and which thing can i do in many situations to renew it, here is it:
1- can i get updates for software for 6680 by nokia suite or PC suite??
2- if nokia didnt realease updates for it, can i download that old updates and install it by my computer??
3- its memory card is (MMC card), in my country i didnt found this type of memory, is that in all other countrys also??
4- is there any new mobiles use the same type of this card memory type, so i can find it??
5- if i have some problems in my 6680 mobile, can i take it to nokia care point??!! or they will say that there is no support for it now??
6- is there any type of support for it in the nokia sites??

Yes. However, that is not your question: Whether you get the latest version, depends on your Nokia Product Code. Furthermore, the last version was released in 2005.

Cannot comment because I am not aware of any Nokia Store worldwide anymore. Sometimes, genuine Nokia Care Centre do have old accessories. Nevertheless, they come at a price for those who really care. By the way, I recommend the Nokia AD-45 because with that you can attach any earphone you like.

Nokia 6680 dead

Today I used Nokia Software Update to check for new firmware for my 6680.I connected the phone via USB and launched the update procedure which detected a new version for the firmware. After I allowed the update procedure the FW was downloaded from the net and the phone update started. Just a minute after the phone died, the USB connection stopped and now the phone is dead, black screen, off. No way to switch it on. Please give me indication about how to solve the problem.
