Nokia 7310 Supernova Search

I noticed that it only searches for match from start and will not show inbetween result.
e.g. if i have an entry 'foo bar' that it will not search for bar?
It's very inconvinient for searching like this way in music and phonebook. Is there any solution for it.
btw i recently updated the firmware from 8.20 to 9.40 but still no fix?

Advice sought on how to overcome lack on connectivity on our new Nokia 7310 supernova phone tried for 2 days now to connect using CA-101 cable to connect to Ovi/then Nokia PC Suite. Both PC's send message the device is not recognised, when in PC system the driver is an old MS driver and clicking the update then directing to driver folder no luck. PC doesn't like the driver or cant locate in the Nokia cable folder.
PC's are both running XP and SP3 .
The Nokia suite works fine on our previous phones N 6230i and 7250i. Tried the remove sw cleaner from Nokia then installed lastest version still no t been able to get the driver recognised below:
Ovi suite v. 2 5 0 164
PC suite v installer 2 2 27
and driver package vesion v 7 1 22 0
Any comments suggestion most welcomed.

You can remove the Ovi Suite completely from Add remove.
- Remove Nokia Connectivity cable driver
- Remove PC Connectivity solution
and then go to My computer-Right Click Manage- Device manager - Ports- Remove all Which shows as nokia there.
- Restart Computer
- install ovi Suite
- Connect and check

Hi all,
I recently purchased a NOkia mobile 7310 model and am facing problems in installing a dictionary application of size around 2 MB. I am getting an error message something like "this application can not be installed because the size is too big". I also tried to install some other application of size more than 1mb but faced same problem. However , I am able to install an application of size less than an mb.I have installed a micro SD memory of size 4GB and most of its space is free.
Any help, suggestions in this regard would be highly appreciated.

It's a limitation of the series 40 operating system that prevents you from using programs that are over 1mb in size.
To use larger programs you need a more advanced phone like a nokia S60 smartphone.

Nokia 7310 factory settings lost all ringtones

Hello,
I bought a Nokia 7310 Supernova, but a few months later got a phone from my work, so sold the 7300 to someone in my family. Before doing that, I reset it all to factory settings.
When I bought the Nokia 7310 in the shop, there were around 20 or so ringtones on it (like is normal, I mean, what phone doesn't have multiple tones on it by default). Now, after resetting it to factory settings, there is only one.
I've never in my life, since the most early GSM's in the nineties, seen a cellular phone that doesn't offer multiple ringtones, so I consider it broken now
How can I get all those other ringtones back?

I have a problem with isync in mac osx and my new nokia 7310. The phone is not supported by isync. In the instruction I read to search the plugin for mac osx for the 7310, but it not exist.
How can I do for this problem???

So after 2 month search i just make the plugin myself...
And it works !
Here are the step to install it:
Summary:
1. Download the script on http://perso.latribu.com/hawkit/Nokia-7310Supernova.phoneplugin.zip
2. Extract archive
3. Right click iSync from the Applications folder in Finder and choose “Show Package Contents”
4. Navigate to: Contents\Plugins\ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice\Contents\Plugins\
5. Copy/past "Nokia-7310Supernova.phoneplugin" in this directory
6. (Re-)Setup your phone with your Mac
So now, hope Google will point this tip's for all people who are looking for a long time

Problem with Nokia 7610 supernova

I bought my Nokia 7610 supernova recently. I am in China. It has the same problem- restoration of original settings- & that too in Chinese. So as per the solution given on one of the forums I downloaded Nokia PC suite & then I tried to update the software. Everything went well till I started the software update. It said fatal error because minimum memory required is 256 MB.And so update cannot take place. I tried to do it again but got the same result. I have at least 350 MB of free space in my phone at the moment. Can u help me with this? I have no idea how to solve this.

Hello!
First of all, i hope you understand, and i ask you my apologize about my english.
I have a nokia 7610 Supernova White, and i've made some downloads of some themes to change.
However, when i change the theme, the stand-by mode, when i want to see the time when the keyboard its locked, i press the red phone and i can see the time. Until here it's ok, but, the theme behind the clock it's always the Orbit theme.
Only when i change to a theme whith copyright of nokia, the theme behind the clock its the same of all screens... Once i've had a black screen, but i dont know what should i change to get it back.....
I hope you can help to change that thing, and of course, i hope you understand my dougbt....

Nokia 7210 Supernova, sms character counting doesn...

So, here's the problem.
At first, when I started typing sms messages, I did see the character counter at the top of the screen. And now, it somehow disappered. I haven't changed any settings or anything...
Can somebody help me?

Play wmv in nokia 7210 supernova

i've recently purchased nokia 7210 supernova mobile. but i'm unable to play any wmv files in my mobile though i'm able to play 3gp files. is there a way to play wmv files in my mobile? i found something like smartmovie but it works only on symbion os, which is not installed in my mobile!

I guess nokia 7210 cant support wmv files, so you could try to convert wmv to mp4/3gp with something called video file converter, it is already optimized for output setting for Nokia phone... easy-to-use.

Issues nokia 7610 supernova sort text messages

Dear All,
I own a Nokia 7610 supernova ( product code # 0564323 ) and I'm experiencing a weird behavior after restoring its content backup.
I did a full phone backup through Nokia PC Suite 7.1.26.0 before installing the latest firmware available for my mobile - Version 05.20 .
After updating my mobile to firmware version 05.20 then I did a full restore through Nokia PC Suite.
It seems that all my text messages are stored on the mobile; however it appears now sorted by sender.
I mean, all the text messages appear on the mobile sorted by sender instead of arrival date/time.
Therefore, before the upgrade and full restore all my text messages was sorted by date.
Please, Is it possible to change the text messaging sorting criteria?How can I sort my text messages by date again?
What can be this problem root cause?

Unfortunately, there is no such option =/
I´ve tried on those menus:
Messaging -> Inbox -> Options (out side In Box folder)
Messaging -> Inbox -> Options (within In Box folder, on the messages list)
Messaging -> Message Settings ->General Settings
Messaging -> Message Settings ->Text Messages
There is nothing related to sort text messages on those menus listed above =(
PS:I've tried to restore the phone´s firmware and recover from full backup file again with no success. All text messages appears sorted by sender on the mobile, although Its delivered date are correct.
Any clues?
