Nokia c5-03 defects

hi all,
I m from india. I bought my nokia c5-03 in april 2011. Initially i started getting error "sd card not detected". I had to reseat the sd card to get it detected. This error went away permanently after i upgrded the available software & reformated my memory card.
Then after few months i started getting error "not enough memory, please close some apps" while surfing interneg through internet explorer. I stopped using ie and switched to opera mini.
At present i having issue where i cannot hear any incoming call, the other person can hear me loud and clear. For this i have to restart my mobile several times to get it fixed. Is there anyone who could hep me on this. Its quite frustrating.
I will suggest do all research before buying this gadget.

As for the Memory problem in Nokia Browser..in the Browser Options-->Privacy..clear the CACHE on regular basis.. Even in Opera, you need to do this once a while...
For the Volume problem, first Back-up your data and Factory reset the phone. Menu-->Settings-->Phone-->Phone Management-->Factory Settings. The default code is 12345 unless changed by you. If this does not solve the issue, try re-installing the Firmware thru' Nokia suite.
If this also fails, visit Nokia Care to get the device checked for any Hardware issues...

  • Nokia E7 Design Defect

    Dear Team,
I have complaint against Nokia. I have purchased a Nokia E7 handset on 04th July 2011 from Mobile Store, Gwalior and it is under warranty.
I believe there is a design defect in the mobile slider mechanism. I found it broken one day. The slider's hinge is broken, which to a customer like me looks like a minor repair / replacement. I requested the executive to replace the mobile or repair the defect. I have been asked that the repair would not be covered and it would be charged at Rs 8890.00. Even after requesting Mr Sunil (Manager at Nokia Care) he said that defect is not covered under warranty. I was surprised.
I requested the executive to give me in writing that this part is not covered under warranty but she refused.
I request Consumer court to look into this mater please. I want a replacement of the phone / slider. I don't understand how these parts are not covered under warranty. How can Nokia care center demand for Rs 8890.00 for small part of a mobile that cost Rs 25,000.00 (Approx.) and is under warranty.

  • Nokia N97 cover defect: Scratched the back camera ...

    Hello everyone,
Last weekend, as I opened the back camera lens cover, I saw one straight line scratch
I was cursing myself, even though I keep my phone in a pouch. But today as I was scrolling through HOFO, I came accross a thread where people we complaining about similiar issues.
I think this is a defective design problem on N97s, if there are some dust particles under the screen then they will scratch the screen when you slide the cover to open or close it.
Will nokia take resposiblility to fix these screens, I am really **bleep** off. I have been a Nokia fan from last 7 years.
This is what we get after spending $650 USD to buy a hyped flagship device.
Could anyone tell me who to complain and how get it fixed.

well aftear reading the hofo i just smacked a screen protector in the lens, i got it from the "home button" of some iphone's screen protectors I had. as soon as I slided the cover close/open the lens (or the screen protector) got scratched so Im 100% sure that the sliding cover will scratch the lens. Not that fast, since the screen protector adds some bulk on the surface. So if you are going to do this make sure that the screen protector doesnt invade the flash zone or you will get some flashes over the picture and also make sure that it doesnt get under the lens frame I think the cover has a slider under the frame.
So finally I feel better, and the picture quality doesnt change anything even when using the flash!

  • Nokia C7 Display Defect

    Hi,
I have a Nokia C7-00 that was purchased SIM free and unbranded in Germany, with which I'm experiencing distinct colour banding / gradient problems. It is also common on Nokia N8 displays. I'll try to describe my problem:
The first tell tale sign of the issue seems to be a common one: A purplish tint on the top half of the screen saver clock (visible when the phone is keylocked and then the menu key is pressed).
As time has passed by since first noticing this problem- I have also noticed that videos and images that are predominantly dark are also having issues being displayed properly. The effect being similar to if the image was being shown on a screen with limited colours, for example, if you set your computer screen to display only 16bit colours.  In areas of images that black is supposed to fade into lighter colours, the image is completely off.
There is an active discussion about this problem on another forum:
    http://www.nokiausers.net/forum/nokia-n8/39462-i-think-nokia-using-two-different-types-screen-n8-may...
I have attached pictures of my screen with the problem.
I have contacted Nokia care and they have no input other than re-installing my firmware (which is impossible to do anyway- as they seem to have provided me with inaccurate instructions- there is no way to re-install my firmware via Ovi Suite or the handset)
    Any help?
I've since moved away from Germany and from what I understand my 2 year warranty is only valid in Europe...
Attachment 1 is supposed to be black to white squares in increasing gradient
Attachment 2 is supposed to be black into white, but on my display somehow a brown/purple tint is in between the black and white
Attachment 3 is the screensaver clock that is supposed to be black, but on my screen the top half is displayed with a purple hue
Here is an image of two Nokia N8's from someone experiencing the same display characteristics as my C7, and one with a good display. The problem can be seen better in these images:

    Nokia N8 Display 2

hi guys my n8 has this issue too
iam not impressed by it and have contacted nokia on facebook , twitter , email and phone yet they dont seem the least bit intrested at the minute
i have even got a nokia tech from a nsc to report it to them via correct channels yet nokia dont seem to care about this
it happends when colours fade into each other or get lighter , main colours are white/grey/black and these turn to a purple/red colour just like in the pictures above
ive also had another n8 and it didnt have this problem , my girlfriend has a n8 too and is on the same product code etc and the screens are so different it is unreal
i thin nokia might be using two screens on the n8 too meet demand as amoled screens are in demand at the minute so maybe they have sourced another froma  differnt amoled maker
i cant see any other reason for the difference in image quality between my girlfriends and my screen , same product code , same firmware , same theme and settings yet the results are so different its worrying
forget using the n8 to watch videos if you have one of these screens with a purple tint as the blacks/whites/greys will look purple and ruin the film etc
my video playing has gone from watching dvd quality to watch a dodgy pirate with pixelation and purple tints and banding
id like to see more users post up here so nokia can see there is a bit of a problem and start looking into it as at the minute they dont seem fussed
perhaps people havent noticed the purple tint but if you have seen one with a proper screen and then one with a puple tint you can easily spot the difference the screen quality is no where near as good as the ones without tints , coliurs are deeper richer and nicer to view on the screen wihout the tint
iam waiting for another n8 to turn up today as a replacement if it has the purple screen too i will be extremley gutted and a unhappy n8 user even though its my dream device itll feel tainted because of the screen

  • Nokia Lumia 930 Defects or Firmware Issues

I recently upgraded to a Nokia Lumia 930, I had a 920 for ages and loved it. However, I had to replace my first 930 within two days as there was a hardware issue with one of the back buttons not working (when the phone heated up the back button would start pressing itself and get stuck sometimes).
I've had the new Lumia 930 (the replaced one) for two months now and the following problems have come to my attention:
Double tap to wake goes through phases where it just does not work. I've tried pressing down on the top right corner to see if it rectifies the problem but it does not (not sure how double tap to wake uses the proximity sensor, is this not dependant on the display). I do however have seen that double tap to wake stops working after charging the phone (I'm able to reproduce the behaviour repeatedly)? It will after a few hours of work just magically return to normal?
Proximity sensor goes through stages where it does not work either. I can't for certain say this happens after every charge but maybe it's just a coincidence that this happened after my last charge.
Some notification sounds do not sound at all, it seems to only happen when the display is turned off (or when the device is in standby?). Notifications including sounds such as locking and unlocking the phone aren't always played.
The screen does not turn on sometimes when and if a notification comes through (they do not always sound as in point 3 above).
Hey Cortana performance is terrible, it just doesn't work if the phone is not unlocked.
Gestures Beta has never worked on my Lumia 930, albeit a beta, I never have had any problems with it on my Lumia 920.
Things I consider to be the culprit:
There are so many issues with my device while it is in standby, that it seems to me that it might be a firmware problem? I can't image how being in low power mode would affect the device sensors (unless there is some kind of voltage drop in standby and the device's sensors are unable to function). Unsure why it seems to be fine when the device is unlocked.
I can't explain what charging does to double tap to wake, but the fact that this happens after every charge leads me to believe there is something here.
    Things I have tried:
Pressing right hand corner of screen for double tap to wake. Did not help (also saw somebody going on about the phone bending in another post, my device is in a hard cover and the 930 has Gorilla glass 3, not sure it will bend at all).
Hard reset and reload firmware. Did not help (Currently running Denim).
Anyone experiencing the same problems and any solutions? I came here after being directed by Microsoft Mobile's facebook page. They don't seems to think posting my problems on facebook is a good idea. Honestly, this is my second Lumia 930 and after reading up on all the issues with the double tap to wake have a came to one conclusion: The build quality of this device is terrible.
    Thank you for your time.
    Jaco

    Here's an update.
In frustration I tried pressing harder in the right hand corner, and if course that solves the issues (Lovely design flaw this). Although only temporarily and I still don't know how the charging is capable of affecting this at all.
My suggestion to Microsoft would be to allow in the next firmware update to allow users to disable this sensor. It seems that this sensor (or the light sensor next to it, who knows) is used to determine if the device is allowed to "Unlock" using double tap to wake. If this is the case, the device will simply ignore it when you tap on the screen (at the cost of somehow waking up in your pocket, a small price to pay)?
    Anyhow, anyone's take on this?

  • Nokia 5230 Firmware 20.x.x.x Issues

I am currently in possession of a Nokia 5230 purchased on Jan 2010 loaded with firmware 11.0.079 . I recently came across a slew of articles regarding the restarting defect caused when ugrading to firmware 20.x.x.x .
    (/t5/Nseries-and-S60-Smartphones/Nokia-5230-RESTARTING-DEFECT/m-p/635260)
As of now I have no problems whatsoever in using my phone (except using the mailbox though) and my phone never restarts. Is it advisable for me to upgrade to the new firmware or abstain away from doing so. And as mentioned by other users Nokia Support dosen't seem to be very helpful in this regard.
If anybody has any idea over this issue please advice.

i m currently using 5230 with v20.x.x, (came with v12.x.x) and i never had the "restart defect" on v20.x.x, actually its a lot better/improved then v12.x.x. in many areas.
from my experience, i would recommend you to update to v20.x.x. but decision is yours.

  • Nokia Complaints-email address needed

Hi, hope you can help, I want to contact nokia to complain about my N80, however their telephone services haven't been much use and I don't want to use one of those 'Ask Nokia' complaint forms, Has anyone got an actual email address I can use?
    thanks

So I will keep posting my updates but during the mean time it would be great if you could collect friends with similar issues so that we can unite and fight to ban such expensive useless and defective handset model like Nokia N8.
    Respected sir,
Subject  Total Dissatisfaction on Purchase of Nokia N8 and the Service carried on it by the Nokia Care Centre that actually killed it each time
    Details regarding the phone
    Brand & Model Nokia N8-00
    Purchase Date: 16-04-2011
Price: Rs 23,824.00(Purchased at Nokia Bangalore)
I purchased this device being a fan of Nokia and love for the specification of the Nokia N8 and had used a lot of Nokia devices in the past and still have the older version of it the Nokia N82 which is still functioning good better than Nokia N8.
This Nokia N8 was a very good device when I got it, looked good and great camera. I loved the device. But then I tried some functions on the phone and came to know that the phone is a complete mess and lots of trouble.
    Problems:
    1. The phone cannot stay connected to the internet via Bluetooth to give internet to my Computer. It connects to the internet for a while say 2 to 5 minutes after which the phone gets hung and restarts or freezes and I had to restart the phone to connect again and again the same issue. Sometimes it doesn’t restart instead it shows it is connected to both PC and Internet and I am not able to go online. So tried switching to 3g services with Airtel still the same issue and tried to change ISP like Docomo and Bsnl as per the troubleshooting provided by Nokia care and Help line.
    2.   Sometimes my phone forgets that it is on a network and tells my friends who try to call me that my phone is either switched off or out of coverage when I am right under the Airtel Tower when I come to know this and look at my phone it shows that it has full coverage and then it doesn’t let me to dial outbound or receive any call but at the same time I can connect to the internet. But to let the phone come back live I must restart it or it will never come back. So in day I have to restart the phone at least once to check if the phone is online or rejecting calls. This is very frustrating  since a phone that costs that much is never supposed to fall under this category. I am sure that a china phone that costs Rs 500 will be able to function better.
    3. When I am watching a movie or going through some songs on the phone restarts by itself and comes right back. This is very irritating when I am composing an email since all that I typed is lost. I sometimes feel like throwing the device but hold my calm thinking that the issue will be fixed by September when the Anna Update will happen.
I noticed all these problems in the month of April itself so walked to the Nokia care Silk Tele services Bangalore Marathahalli and informed them about the issues they asked me to format the phone and the memory and then try since they were sure it was just a software issue. I informed them that I was a software Engineer and had tried all the steps that clicked in my mind regarding the software issues. So they said that they will have to open the device to check for fault. I said that my device is not even a month old and I will not give it to them for opening it since I was sure that once the device is open it will never give me the same performance. So I said that I needed a replacement since the phone had some hardware damage and the phone was not even a month old. So to send me away they told me to wait until the Anna Software Update in the month of September. So since I didn’t get any fix from them I called up the Nokia Care Help line number: 30303838 and told them about the issue they walked me through a hell lot of troubleshooting for 40 minutes and I had to pay for the call and the number said that it was a toll free number but those fix they said erased my data on phone but nothing really helped and called them again and another 30 minutes to tell them what happened on the last call and again into some other troubleshooting that never had an end. I felt pity on the technicians that tried to helped me he was not understanding I am a better troubleshooter than him and I am calling him since I was sure that it was a hardware fault which I cannot fix myself I didn’t want to sue him for the useless troubleshooting that he did so planned to wait till the month of September since speaking to these guys were of no use and waste of time for me and them.
Now During September I got the Anna Update and I formatted the device and including my memory card and built in memory. Started the all new way and was shocked to see that the phone was performing the same manner except that the look of the application and the camera. I did not put any of my data on the phone and walked to the Nokia care Silk Tele services Bangalore Marathahalli and told them that the Anna Update did not fix my issue. So they said that it could be again some software issue and said that they will need to open the handset otherwise. Didn’t know what to tell the customer care lady at desk asked for some manager. So asked me to wait and waited for hours and got a manager  and I told him my complete issue he had also the same thing to say to open my handset. So I told them that I will only give my handset on one condition. And my condition was open the handset only if it is required and I wanted the handset without any scratches on it the same way it was. Since I carried it in a pouch the time since I took it out of the box and had protective cover on display as well worth Rs1000. Instead of me pleading them to not open the handset and to have no scratches on it, they said that they even do it for new handsets that not even a day old to check for hardware damage. So they smiled and said that I can surely get it back the way it is.
But after hours I got the handset back after almost wasting one whole day there. Then I almost cried to see my handset in a very bad condition with lots of visible scratches and the plastic case pulled out and bent and with engravings of the force applied and on top of that they told me that my phone didn’t have any hardware defect. I spoke the manager Kumar about the broken promise and the damage done on my handset he said it was a part of the service and that is not a problem, I told him that this was a very poor service done on the handset and want the body and the display case of my handset back with a new one. He said he can do nothing about it and I informed him that I would complain about the issue and he walked off saying that I can go ahead and complain and he can do nothing about it. I almost cried that day for giving my handset for its destruction and for its slaughter.
As a last resort I called up Nokia Help line on 30303838. Told them about the issue and the present status of the phone and the problem still persists so they asked me to submit the phone to Silk Tele Services to send to Nokia. So I submitted the phone to Silk Tele services again on 7th and since did not hear anything from them after the due date that is 15th called them up and they said it was under quality control check and told me to collect it at Silk Tele services on 17th September 2011.Got the handset and found that the problems that I told still remains and on top of it they presented me with scratches on display and paint on the removed at parts that were very much visible. Showed manager Kumar the condition of the phone now and told that it is getting worse now he looked at it and said that Nokia guys just changed the top plastic cover and the IMEI number that was on the plastic cover was also scratched out. I look now like a handset that is handled very roughly and parts inside it jerking. I thought of walking to Police station for the damage but did not know Telengu to speak to them.
So since I am out of hope and will have to buy a new some other handset anyway not a Nokia Brand any more. Walked into a local place shop to sell away the Nokia N8 for at least Rs15,000 the shopkeeper had a look at the handset and told me that I will not even get Rs5,000 for the device since it is open several times I told him that it is still under warranty till 16-04-2012 and I told him that if he wanted I will even pay Rs 1,412 to increase the warranty of the handset to 16-04-2013. He is still not willing to accept the device even after telling him that I will buy another Samsung Handset from him worth Rs 29,999.He told me son I understand the problem and I cannot take it for that price since nobody will buy a spoilt handset that is in this condition and the one without the IMEI label. Even I felt so and that is the reason why I writing to you. Please help me get justice for this. At least for the tax I pay and the rights of a customer. Question why Nokia is turning out to be selling fake products with no quality at all and poor service centers that spoil the handset and change it from good to worse.
Ban Defective brand like Nokia N8 to Sell in India. Why make a fool of Indians by selling toys to them that is not capable of lasting even the Manufacture period. For people who are reading this please don’t buy expensive Nokia devices as you will have the same end and experience. Nokia was once good but no more. My old Nokia N82 is 100 times better than Nokia N8-00.Felt like having bought an Expensive snake that bites me and kills me. Bye Nokia forever.
Sir Please help me with regards to this at least to get a replacement at least. If you need any finance to fight my case I don’t mind paying since I already had spend almost Rs 25,000 for the phone and its accessories. Please contact me by Email or phone if you can help me. If you can’t help me I will have to go after some other help so please do let me know.
    2.
The Complaint has still not been processed and Nokia had asked me to mail this to [email protected] for fast solution. So i had send the mail as per their request. They called me and again asked me to repeat the complaint and asked me to submit the phone again to Nokia for repair so that they can give it to some useless illiterate fellow who doesn't even know how to hold the tools properly to play with someones money and destroy it more.I still value the device since I paid for it.Seriously the service desk technical fellows are too care less about their work and indirectly they are the one to be held responsible for this.
I disagreed towards the repair again since i don't have any time to waste running back and forth when i know that Nokia can do no fix on my handset and their support representatives are not capable of fixing it.
1.I am not willing for any compromise less than replacement with a complete fresh box piece one that doesn't have any problems that i mentioned.
If it is still going to have the same issue then i don't need it.
2.I would request Nokia for money back since they are not able to keep up their promises as shown on the adds and since they show fraud specification that are never true.If Nokia had been true then they should have mentioned that their Nokia N8 device should at least be restarted 10 times daily for proper functioning along side its specification. If you want to to see some criticism regarding latest Nokia devices please do visit www.gsmarena.com then you will understand that Nokia is still in dark age.Nokia is sleeping when all the other brands are introducing Killer gadgets to the market Nokia is still sitting gaining distrust form its fan like me.Sorry i am no longer a fan.
If Nokia Cant do any of the above mentioned i would demonstrate a video regarding the issue to public and make Nokia N8 users aware of what exactly their device is capable of doing.
I had contacted my advocate uncle at calicut regarding the same. If in case no one is able to help me i shall proceed with a case not only for selling defective devices and also about bad workmanship.
I have all the documents and the complete N8 Kit with me untouched as a proof and Silk Tele Service papers to prove the cheating done by Nokia on the customer.

    Respected sir,
SUB Continuation of the Story.Submitting the N8 to Nokia Care for the 3rd time since they insisted on it
I at last planned to submit the handset to the Nokia Care for the 3rd and the last time since they insisted on submitting the handset to fix it.
So what I did was before I held over the handset to the Nokia Care demonstrated the issues with the handset to the Manager at Nokia Care at Marathahalli, Silk Tele services.
    I had demonstrated:
1.Bluetooth Connectivity issues that disconnects itself after 2 to 3 minutes of its use and the frequant restart of the phone.
2.The damage on the handset when they took it from me for the past two repairs that indirectly spoilt it. Showed him the scratched out IMEI Label on the phone that clearly indicates that a repair was carried on the phone.
3.I was not able to demonstrate the loss of network since it doesnot happen often and if he insisted I will have brought the handset to him some other day when it actually happened.
I want all these issues fixed on the handset only then I will accept the handset since the above mentioned 1st  and 3rd issues was there on the phone from the time since I got the handset and seems to be like a manufacturing defect for the Nokia N8.
But the 2nd was generated by the Nokia Care agent due to their careless handeling of the handset and useless service carried on the handset without trying to identify the fault in the handset or the model.
So I want all these issues with the handset fixed or provide me with some other Model for exchange that doesnot have any manufacturing defect or a new Nokia N8 that doesnot have any defects like these.

I had submitted my handset on 24th september 2011 at Nokia care for the last and final time since they assured me that they would fix the handset or do what ever is required and since I did not hear anything from them till now ie. Today the 27th of September 2011.I shall try calling them to just know if they have started to fix the issue or started to kill it more.Any way I am sure that the Rs 23,824.0 that I paid for that useless device is gone for a toss.Well I don’t plan to leave them alone if they don’t provide me a fix or a solution to the issue. I would sue them and also make my friends and as many people I can to boycot their products due to their poor quality and poor service.NEVER EVER BUY A NOKIA FOR MORE THAN Rs1000. BECAUSE I THINK NOKIA IS NOT CAPABLE OF LAUNCHING A GOOD SMARTPHONE ANY MORE SINCE NOW THEY HAVE ANY GOOD HASSLE FREE HANDSETS COMING UP.ALL THESE MODELS LIKE N9,700,701,N8,X7,C7,E6 ALL SEEMS TO HAVE ONE OR THE OTHER TROUBLE WHICH NOKIA KNOWS ARE DEFECTIVE MODELS BUT STILL AVAILABLE IN THE MARKET.SO FRIENDS BEFORE YOU BUY A NOKIA BE CAREFULL THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO KILL YOUR TIME ON IT AND IT WILL TURN OUT TO BE A NIGHTMARE WHEN YOU WALK INTO THE SERVICE CENTRE WITH THE DEVICE.Be carefull.

I am Hani. The one who had posted this" Defective Nokia N8-00 - Total Dissatisfaction on Purchase of Nokia N8 and the Service carried on it by the Nokia Care Centre that actually killed it each time" regarding my issue.
My issue is still not fixed and i would like to know your status is it fixed or not.
I guess what we will have to do is file a case at consumer court since that is the only way out since Nokia seems to be teasing us and providing defective handsets like Nokia N8.
I had proved and demonstrated to Nokia that even after fixing my handset for the second time it still really didn't fix the handset rather than spoil the handset.
I am just waiting to get my handset back from Nokia so that i can walk into consumer court and have them deal the case on a higher level and take compensation from Nokia for taking the customers to such dissatisfaction by giving them fake promises and non functional handsets.

  • If we have any self respect, we should boycott Nok...

Nokia is dumping defective phones in India (like the Lumia 800) because
    a) India has no laws  b) They view Indians with contempt.
I have had a Lumia 800 for nearly 2 months. It never worked, has been sent for repairs twice, and I have been told 'no refund policy'. I spent Rs 20,000. Currently, it is lying on my bedside table, crashing and re-booting continuously until the battery drains.
    Nokia has no refund policy.
Nokia's policy - SELL JUNK TO STUPID INDIANS.
For god's sake, let's show some self respect. Let's stop buying Nokia in India.
Am filing case. Wish me luck.

A return/refuns policy is usually a regional arrangement set by law and not by any company. It also usually is limited to a period in which it can be reasonably expected you can detect a fatal device flaw causing it to not work.
Also it would seem in your case you are delaing with a Nokia Care Point or retailer who is _NOT_ Nokia. Assuming you have actually taken the phone in for repair twice in less then two months you will have proof of this. You contact Nokia Care by phone, mail or chat. Ask to speak to Nokia Care Management to have this looked into.
Always make sure you save reference numbers or have documentation on this. Also read the terms & conditions or ask Nokia Care to provide you wit the relevant information.
Coming in here, a user to user platform with no direct link to Nokia Care, will not get your issue resolved at all and blindly going about spamming your anger all over the forum does not make you any friends here either.

I understand your frustration, but before saying that Nokia is total $hit, wouldn't be easer to check if your unit is ok or not. I have no issues you described, in fact I'm pretty satisfied with N86 allover performance and build quality. Of course, it's far from perfect, has some annoying bugs and glitches, like every other device.
    Cheers,
    Miki

  • New Nokia Lumia 720 with a defective corning glass

    Hi,
On 20th of May I received two set of lumia720 which I purchased online and one of the set has a defective glass and cover. On the bottom right corner, the glass coating is not covered fully. I can see layers of coating on the glass and its like the coating may peel off after few days of use. Also the sealing of the cover is not proper at that corner.
I've raised a request with the seller for a replacement and meanwhile they asked me to take the phone to nokia care and check if they can fix it.
At nokia care the manager said the cosmetics does not fall under the warranty and its a payable service but in the manufacturer warranty limitation it says...
    "twelve (12) months for the mobile device and accessories (whether included in the mobile device sales package or sold separately) other than the consumable parts and accessories listed in (2) and (3) below;
six (6) months for the following consumable parts and accessories: batteries, chargers, desk stands, headsets, cables and covers; and
ninety (90) days for the media on which any software is provided,e.g. CD-rom, memory card."
There is no mention about the screen specifically. Its not a physical damage and clearly a manufacturing defect, so it should fall under the warranty coverage, right??
    Please help!!
    Thanks,
    Sunil

Thanks for your replies. I'm waiting for a call back from the seller - Indiatimes.com regarding the replacement. One of the box was a gift order so I opened it on May 22nd and the issue was reoported on 23rd when I saw that. I'm afraid if they deny a replacement because I reported the issue late, can I get it repaired by Nokia under the warranty coverage.
As most of us I hold the phone with my left and type with my right, so the left fingers cover the bottom right corner of the phone and because it was a black panel we missed to notice the defect in room light condition. I noticed the defect when I went outside and called the seller immediately and reported the issue and emailed the pics to them.

  • Nokia C3 V08.70 firmware update defective.

I recently updated my c3's firmware to the new V08.70 via Nokia Suite but now i have an extra communities icon and my Opera Mini 6 & several other apps wont run(pre-loaded ones still work) it gives a a ClassNotFound error, i tried re-installing it and uninstalling Nokia Suite, re-installing it but i still have the same problem. I also Reset my factory settings but i still have the same problem.

    hi mate,
ClassNotFound refers to a Java error, so there must be something botched with the installation of the firmware update. as you have already tried re-installing the firmware, unfortunately your only option now is to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect: http://nokia.com/support

  • Nokia 5800 defect?

    Hi,
I just wanted to update my Nokia 5800 Firmware (T-mobile brand) from 2.0 to 2.1
But while it was updating, it suddenly crashed and my phone went out. I turned it on again but it just showing me a white screen and nothing happens. I tried everything to turn it off but it still showing me the whitescreen. So i pulled out de battery and put it back in. Now when I turn the phone on, it keeps vibrating without showing me something. It just vibrate for around a minute and then went out again.
    So what to do now?
    Kudos!

    try the last option
With all these operations I recommend you TAKE OUT MEMORY CARD and DO A BACK UP OF YOUR STUFF!!!
    1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345
    2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)
    3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) For Nokia N97 (unofficial version but works) is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE while holding the power button. Again do not let go until you see the handshake screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

  • Nokia E90 Confirmed Issues/Defects

    Hi everyone,
Nokia have confirmed the following issues that have been discussed/shared in our forum. The first one is regarding the noisy background during phone calls. The other one is the scratches or contact points in the internal LCD screen caused by some keys touching the screen
Please refer to the following for more details - http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2176477,00.asp or http://www.smarthouse.com.au/Accessories/Mobile_Phones/D3B7W7V2?page=1
My question is, will the affected units be replaced by Nokia given that the second issue has already been addressed and what is their time line for the resolution of the first issue.
Just hoping that someone would be able to provide a feedback or response.
Thank you.Message Edited by spectred on 12-Oct-200704:50 AM
