  • Nokia Messaging Plan cancelled

    Hi,
    I have set up Nokia messaging with my former E63. Some month ago I got my new E72. When I set up mail it said that I already have an account that I can use. So did I.
    Now I got an automatically generated mail that said my old phone is used by someone else but my mail is secure. The account is cancelled. I can still log in but the original status: "Nokia messaging plan bought with phone" is cancelled.
    So I set up a new account but now the status is: TEST.
    Thats not acceptable.
    How do I get my old account re-activated?

    Same thing happened to me after i changed my phone from E63 to E72, i called their support in my country, gave my master email address (that i used to create the acoount, same one you use to log into the administration page), my new IMEI, and they activated back on. The only this is now on Profile i have "Nokia messaging tiral", but i used to have "Nokia messaging subscription purchased with device". I called back, they said it's ok it's not a trial and it won't close. My account is back on now, i hope it will stay on !

  • Can't send emails through Nokia Messaging

    Hi
    Have been experimenting with Nokia Messaging for a week or so on my 5800XM, and I don't seem to be able to send emails at all.
    I have two email accounts - Hotmail and an ISP account (Eclipse). I can download emails OK from both. But when I try to send:
    1. The Eclipse account keeps asking for username & password - I have tried every combination of these I can think of, and nothing works. The mail I'm trying to send just sits in the Outbox "queuing".
    2. The Hotmail account apparently sends OK - the msg appears in the Sent Items list on the phone, and on my PC when I sync the account. But it never arrives. Have tried several "To" addresses but nothing ever arrives.
    Any ideas please ? An email client that doesn't send isn't a whole lot of use.

    Contacted Nokia Support about this, and their response rather stunned me:
    "In response to your concern, please be advised that Nokia and Orange have agreed on a partnership and  made Nokia Messaging available only to Orange subscribers. All Nokia Messaging users now have 30 days of free trial; however, once the 30 day free trial is over, customers must purchase Nokia Messaging subscription from Orange if they want to continue with the service. If you are under a contract with Orange and have unlimited data plan, we recommend that you contact them to have the Nokia Messaging enabled on your account. "
    When I installed it I did not see anything warning me that I had only a free trial and that it would thereafter be a paid service available only to Orange customers. I am not an Orange customer, so obviously I now have to bin this app and look for some other way to manage emails on my phone. All suggestions gratefully received !

    I am using Nokia X5, and I just subscribed to Nokia Messaging
    The thing is: my credit keep being cut ( I use aprepaid number) though I have paid for the subscription.
    I have asked my operator about this, and they suggest me to check whether my APN is set to correctly.
    Can anyone tell me what and how to set APN on Nokia x5?

    It's fairly easy for my E55. It may have worked for you, too.
    menu, control panel, settings, connection, destinations. There you should see  several groups of access points and the APN's in them.

  • [E71-1] Nokia messaging not sync even after firmwa...

    Hi all,
    For the past 3 months, my Nokia messaging is not SYNC automatically again from my Nokia E71-1.
    Yesterday I tried to firmware upgrade my E71-1 (to latest firmware ver 410.21.010); and install Nokia Messaging from OVI store.
    And then after 1st sync, all my emails coming back up (which is great); but then I have to sync manually to get the latest email.
    Currently I have 5 emails account inside my Nokia messaging account (they are 2xGmail, Yahoo and other 2 from my local ISP).
    Plan: Nokia Messaging - operator subscriber
    Subscription status Active
    My server settings:
    - Server name: netac5.vie.hosting.no... (unable to read the rest text)
    - Send and Receive: Soonest (I've changed to "every 15 minutes"; still the email not sync'ed automatically)
    Is this issue because I have 5 email accounts checked by my Nokia Messaging?

    I found a solution that works for my E71-1 (client 9.7.0.2). It's quite simple: In the Option menu of your Nokai email application - that is where you can see the buttons for all email accounts plus the SYNC button etc. - you should see an 'go online' or 'go offline' command (in German 'online gehen' or 'offline gehe'. After toggling this command from 'go online' to 'go offline' which will turn you on line, you can see the sync icon in the header line to go PERMANENTLY to sync status. It will sync every minute or so depending on your settings.
    I can't believe it, that this is the solution after all the time I spent looking for it.

    "If you have an active Nokia MixRadio unlimited downloads subscription, this error is most likely due to connectivity issues. Please try to exit the app by pressing the Back key until the device Home screen is displayed. Then re-open the application and try again. If the problem persists, try using a faster network connection, e.g. WiFi."
    If above will not help, let us know. You may also contact your local Nokia Support providing the device's IMEI and your Nokia Music username/ID.

  • Nokia Messaging / Gmail / Percent Character (%) in...

    Is there a place to submit bugs for the Nokia Messaging client? I noticed that the S60 version (probably all the others too) will not connect to GMail's web service if there is a percent character in the password. I once submitted a patch for the Google .Net API for the same problem. The developer needs to ensure the character is not escaped during submission.

    Apparently Nokia Messaging requires some sort of subscription (contract) in some countries.
    I'm in Germany with an unlocked E75 and N900, using a prepaid discounter (blau.de) and never had a problem with NM.. in the NM account page it used to say "subscription purchased with device" or something to that effect.. now I doesn't say anything.
    Some people have reported being in some sort of "trial" period, etc. which required involvement of the carrier to make it work again.
    Assuming that you already have an NM account, you can try loggin in here and see what happens:

    Normally you can configure your accounts (add/modify/delete) from there (more convenient than on phone), and the updated settings are "pushed" to your phone (if you have NM already set-up, which I guess you don't have..)
    If you don't already have an NM account and the account set-up fails on your phone, then I suppose you're out of luck..

    I have purchase lumia710 from resale market. I m facing problem in Nokia music subscription. It is showing message 'This phone already registered with unlimited subscription' but I m able to download free music. Also I don't know any details of previous owner. Please suggest me.....

    Please use the search function when you have a question as it will often give you your answer straight away.
    In short, the phone was registered for the service by the previous owner and you need to contact Nokia Care to get this resolved. There is nothing anyone here can do about this.
    Contact Nokia Care through the 'Contact us' section on this page by phone, mail or chat.

  • Nokia messaging servers are very intrusive mailbox...

    Hello.
    I am using IMAP mailbox running on unix server. I acces to that same mailbox by using unix, shell interface, thunderbird and webmail aplications.
    Nokia messaging servers usually initially work fine with the others too. I can access mailbox with other programs too and read the mail and delete etc.
    After a while the nokia mail process starts to keep the mail reading process running all the time. It want's to keep the mailbox locked to itself all the time. If any other mail reading program get's the mailbox lock accroding to IMAP spec, the nokia mail process takes it back instant. Thus I can't mark mails read, delete them or do anything except see them from any other program. I solve this problem by accessing the unix server and killing all nokia mail processes and that way I get some breathing time until problems start again.
    I think there is extremely poor coding at work here. Have anyone else experienced problems like this?

    In order to delete your email account from nokia servers.. you have to cancel your subscription on nokia servers through email.nokia.com.
    Once you cancel it nokia servers stop accessing the account. If you only delete you account from cell phone, you account with nokia email still remains....

  • Nokia Messaging promotional period expires on 31st...

    When I started using Nokia Messaging for my emails I got an email explaining how it was free but I may have to pay data charges to my service provider. That's all fine, but at the bottom of the email this was written:
    "Nokia Messaging promotional period expires on 31st May 2010"
    What happenes then? Do I have to pay?

    How much does Nokia Messaging cost?
    Nokia Messaging is currently provided on a trial basis. In the future, consumers will be able to acquire Nokia Messaging through an operator plan. You may incur charges in connection with the transfer and receipt of data to your mobile phone and may not be included in your flat data rate plan. Please contact your operator to know how much you will be charged.
    I understands the following:
    1- there is no charge in the future for using NOKIA messaging that i need to pay to nokia it self
    2- and any charges will be added will be between me and my operator (service provider)
    3- On this bases, if I'm connected to the internet through WiFi as example at home there will be no charges at all.
    I don't know if what i understand is right or not
    Please if any one know the exact policy of  using NOKIA messaging after the trial period send it to me

  • Nokia Messaging - did something change...?

    Hi there, been using this for ages, roaming and all over - always convincing folk that its a thinking persons BB. But it seemed to have stopped working on thurs 4th for some reason. Have the green circle and all the screen looks good, all other apps work fine FB and Twitter. 
    Called Nokia, who suggested checking with Vodafone...who suggested nothing really? Dont get it - help please!!

    Try smartconnct birdstep plugin then you can make data connection via wlan as if it where gprs. I used it to setup some email accounts to avoid using gprs (since I don't have that subscription). So if it works via birdstep plugin you are almost sure it's your vodafone gprs who is mailfunction.
    Some email setups in the E72 require forced GPRS connectivity unfortunately. Strange that you are not able to decide that yourself. Birdstep enables a way around.
    Before using this I was not able at all to setup nokia messaging at all.

  • How (and where) can I create a new Nokia Messaging...

    I just got a new E7 which I am currently pretty happy with, however when I go to email.nokia.com I only see a log-in form for the existing customers. Where can new users register and how can I do it? I can see that there is a Nokia Mail by Yahoo, but cannot find anything useful about push-mail there.
    (Added later)I have successfully added a Google mail as a push mail to my phone and it IS WORKING,but I would like to add also our mail server but I cannot (I get a message that the password is wrong however it isn't since I can add the mailbox as POP3). After reading a lot of tutorials I SHOULD be able to log in to email.nokia.com with the first push-mail login credentials (in my case of google mail), however I get an error when trying to do so.

    Nokia Messaging account should be automatically created when you add a new mailbox to your email client.  All account management and configuration are handled within the Nokia Messaging clients on the Nokia device. If you want to have Nokia Mail account, please see here. 
    To set up Hotmail or Gmail in Exchange ActiveSync, perform the following steps:
    Go to the Mail application and select New mailbox.
    Preparing for setup is displayed.
    Select Exchange ActiveSync.
    Enter your email address, password, username and domain.
    Connecting server is displayed.
    Enter the server name when requested.
    For Gmail Setup use the following values:
    User Name: full email address (for example [email protected])
    Domain: google
    Mail for Exchange server: m.google.com

  • E72 'Add to my Nokia Messaging account' VS Create ...

    Hi,
    When adding an email account such as GMAIL my Nokia E72 gives me 2 options:
    Add to my Nokia Messaging account
    Create a separate mailbox that uses manual delivery
    Again, this is an UI improvement: There is no contextual help or information regarding both options...
    What are the pros and cons of using either options? Also, Vodafone proposer a similar application to connect to my mail accounts, do you know if it is any better?

    There is no cost for using Nokia Messaging. It does say that it is a trial version but unofficially it appears it will be a never ending trial, and anyway you won't suddenly get charged for using it.
    You can use NM and Exchange and any other email clients at the same time although NM may say you already have software to receive mail but just select yes and it will carry on with the set up. You can set it to autostart or manual. I use 'Email on 3' push software but have identical accounts set up in NM which I can manually start and it will download the same emails - I use it if I need or want to see the email using html which '3' doesn't at the moment.
