  • New Nokia store client- no update yet!

I have observed the new Nokia store QML client is ready in Nokia beta labs. Is it not yet out of beta testing? Has anybody got the update on their phone? This client is supposed to replace the existing WRT client. When shall we expect the update being rolled out? Or Do we need to download it from beta labs itself? If I download it from beta labs, the current version Cant be uninstalled. It just stays put along with the new version.

  • Updating from Beta issue

    Hi,
Cannot update from Beta version of the maps. Please help
    regards

    @raja_singh1
Have you tried using Nokia Suite as updated N8 Symbian Anna with v3.08 Beta by this method?
In case it makes any difference I had not installed the first (optional) maps update in SW updates which led  to "feature not supported" should this have any bearing upon it.

  • Nokia Store showing older version of apps

Downloaded ngpay & twitpic from Nokia Store. Both these apps are a version behind the available on their site & offer to update. Twitpic refuses to move forward without updating the version. But the problem is that the apps that are being offered on the site are untrusted apps. Why is it so?

  • After a clean install of Yosemite, the App Store is asking me to update to Beta 5.

I was running the public betas, updated all the way to beta 6. When Yosemite was released last week, I backed up my computer with Time Machine, and erased the disk. I installed Yosemite as a new installation. Shortly after, the App Store is telling me I can update to Beta 5, despite having the latest 'full' release.

Yes even if it is installed it will still show in the Purchases section/area so if needed you can download it again.
This was a Problem with Lion. After people bought and installed Lion if they went back to the MAS to say download it again to another Mac they owned, which it totally legal, Lion did not show in the purchases area and in the main MAS area it was displayed with a BUY button. You had to hold down the Option key, I think it was, for the Buy button to turn to a Download, or something, button. It was very confusing. Apple is trying to clear that up by placing Mt Lion in your Purchases area so if you wanted to Re-Download it on your computer or another that you own you can easily.
If you click that Download button in the Purchases area of the MAS it may ask you for your Apple ID and password or just your password but it will not charge you for it again.
    Has that helped?

If you want to clean up your hard drive some, here are some of my tips, also.
Hard drive getting full or near full?
Do a search for and downlaod and install OmniDisk Sweeper and OnyX.
Here are some of my tips for deleting or archiving data off of your internal hard
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive older emails you want to save to disc, Flash drive/s or to ext. hard drive.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, Flash drive or ext. hard drive and/or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Uninstall apps that you no longer use. If the app has a dedicated uninstaller, use it to completely uninstall the app. If the app has no uninstaller, then just drag it to the OS X Trash icon  and empty the Trash.
Also, if you save old downloaded  .dmg application installer  files, you can either archive and delete these or just delete the ones you think you'll never install, again.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its thing initially, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run all of the processes in the tabs. Let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be thinned out, moved, also, to the external hard drive and then either archived to disc, Flash drive or ext. hard drive and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

  • Skype for Symbian / Nokia Store Issue / Update Sky...

Well this is actually utterly and bitterly disapointing from Skype and / or Microsoft and could actually be embarassing... In what world are they living? Greed and more profit making? Excuse me but we did not see any official statement yet concerning the drop / end of Skype support of the Symbian platform.
    1) How come Skype randomly disapears from the Nokia Store without warning or an official statement from Skype and / or Microsoft?
    2) Why would there be discriminating towards Symbian / Nokia users who are forced to use an out of date version of Skype without support for Microsoft account login?
    3) Isn't Skype / Microsoft shooting themselves into their own legs? Own goal? Why would I spend for a new Nokia phone using Windows 8 Mobile OS ( and I have the money to do it ) when I got a fully working Symbian Nokia that does all what I need? Carefull, this strategy might just make people disgusted of Nokia thus indirectly the Windows 8 Mobile OS.... as we all know of the relationship between Nokia and Microsoft nowadays.
    4) The ridiculous statements I see on these forums about the phasing out of Symbian sometimes make me laugh. The developpers are just causing this artificial phase out by just being like rats leaving a sinking ship. Just show with proof that the Symbian needs a phase out... From what I know it is still very popular in Europe and Africa.
I am suprised that I had to have an outburst on these forums... I am a huge fan of Skype and the Microsoft products... Xbox and so on. But well anyway these were my points. I hope that this will be taken into consideration even though I am sure Symbian users would not ask too much, an update to be able to use the Microsoft account login would stop the inegality between the platforms concerning the ability to talk to our Msn / messenger contacts....
    Regards.

Yes your Skype for Symbian FAQ (6/2013) was of great help a few days ago when I was surprised to find that Skype had mysteriously disapeared from the Nokia / OVI Store. I had an issue with the Skype install I had on my Nokia 500 running Symbian Belle, on which I had installed Skype from Nokia / OVI store since last year, so I had to un-install it. So I went for a re-install but nothing... no Skype on Nokia / OVI Store so I tried your FAQ.
There is an issue from this part of the FAQ:

I signed on my Nokia / OVI account because this was the version I needed for Symbian Belle but the file downloaded wasn't of .sis extension but was of .dm extension. So I couldnt install it.
I managed to get an alternate install file of Skype v2.1.0.23 ( latest and maybe last for Symbian Belle ) if this can be of any help to anyone using Symbian Belle:

  • How to update the Nokia Store

how to update my nokia store ovi
Moderator's note: We have amended the title of this post as it was moved from another board.

    Hi samuelbudol,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
What's your phone model? For Symbian devices, you can update your Nokia Store by visiting www.store.nokia.com using the phone browser. It will prompt you if there's an updated version available for download. If your device supports Nokia Suite, you can use this PC application to check and download the latest update for your phone applications including the Nokia Store.
If this does not solve your concern, please let us know.

  • N8 - Nokia Store unusable because update doesn't w...

    Hello
I just "upgraded" my N8 to Belle, and now Nokia Store tells me that I have to update the store.
The update downloads but fails to install, so I can't use the store...
    Can anyone help me?
    Thank You
    Dieter

No need to insult. The phone is the same regardless of SIM, pre-paid, locked or whatever. All phones has SIM cards, except the US CDMA - but if these are produced by Nokia, the Symbian software is the same - only the phone/handset part differs.
Do not update the software, use only what was provided out of the box at start.
When you receive notice of new software, install this only when it fixes a known bug, and after you have consulted this site for warnings.
Always take backup first. A simple tool for this is provided as "Memory" function - take backup of the phone's memory ("C:") to the memory card ("E:" or "F").
I guess you have tried OVI and sync'ed via this and not PC Suite. The code seems to be almost the same, but OVI has more functionality and bugs.
    1. Use a back-up copy on your PC/Mac
2.Reset the phone to remove all contacts and calendar appointments - or reinstall phone software.
    3. Restore everything but the Contact and Calendar from the backup.
    4. "Import" the back up copy of Calendar and then Contacts and sync this against the empty files on the phone - one record at a time.
The time it takes depends on the number of Contacts you had. - 15 min ?.
    Don't change anything that works.

  • How to have a back up of Updated Nokia store ?

how can i have the back up of nokia store's updated version so that i dont have to update it again once i reset the factory settings or run hard reset !
I have another query,Can i have a back up of my nokia X2 including back up of system settings and other apps updated version ?

Yes, you can create backup of them.
You can extract/backup their package file(.apk) using either astro file manager or 1mobile store.
And backup of system settings may be possible only through "create backup" option in the settings.
