Nokia sync

dear all,
i recently got a new macbook running Lion and now facing a problem with suncing my nokia e5 phone with it. in my old laptop, i was able to use isync. but that is not available anymore, could someone please guide me.
cheers,
G

iSync is gone, along with all of the Frameworks, which have been replaced by iCloud.  There probably is no way to do it any more, though I'm sure if you google your situation, there is some work around.  Some have suggested to pull iSync from Snow Leopard, but unfortunately much of the guts of OSX that supported iSync have gone, so it won't work like that.  You could downgrade back to Snow Leopard.

  • Nokia sync problems. E7.

I received the notification concerning the joining of Ovi sync with Nokia mail contacts so I signed up & tried synching my phone contacts with my Nokia email account, the problem is whenever I sync the contacts using the phone they don't update, all that happens is that the contacts are redownloaded on the phone & the original contacts on the phone are deleted (as they end up in the deleted contacts folder online) It seems you cannot change details nor add photos to contacts with the new Nokia sync/Nokia contacts as they are just returned to the original state when synched or, in the case of updated contacts, I get two entries, the original & the updated version or the entry is returned to the original version & isn't updated. I've had to forgo the ovi/nokia sync on the phone & use Nokia suite to backup my contacts. I prefered the old sync which worked fine.
    Solved!

hi, I wanted to know if you have successfully fixed the problem. i think i am getting the same problem. yesterday i got p problem with my E7-00 and had to hard reset if. I lost all my data, i have send my contact from nokia suite to my phone and since it was an old back i had to delete some contacts from it from the phone. However my problem is that every time the "Nokia Sync" in restoring the deleted contacts. is there any way the set the actual phonebook on the phone to the back of the "Nokia Sync"
    thanks
No I still have major problems syncing, the first sync is fine but further syncs just mess everything up; I lose any photo I've assigned to a contact I also find any changes I've made to a contact are not being updated on Nokia sync as I get the original back on the phone which makes it useless. It also doesn't handle symbols like '&' very well & I have to write 'and' instead otherwise anything before the & is missing.
I do have a theory though, as Nokia sync is now connected to Yahoo's address book (as Nokia mail is provided by Yahoo now) I suspect that that platform isn't designed to work the way Ovi sync did but to just be used to download the contact list to the phone & to make changes you have to visit Nokia mail, Yahoo's help refers to this being the case with a different phone manufacturer so I can easily see this being the problem with my E7 & other phones. I've contacted support again to try & get any update on this & even offered to show screenshots of the problem but had no reply. I have heard (I'm sure on this forum) that Nokia have dropped Nokia sync though.

  • Nokia sync .. belle refresh

    Hi Nokia
I have problem with nokia sync in my nokia n8 belle refresh...
it just showing activation failed, try again later..
i installed belle refresh 3 days ago and since this update i got that error
    any solution??
    thx,

Having sold my Lumia I bought 808 PureView, owned previously N8. In my view, Symbian Belle is a great system, much better than Windows Phone and you do not need to sacrifice your privacy as much as with WP. The only one thing I wish Nokia could improve, is the speed of reading emails, web browsing and installation of apps from Ovi Store. I do not know why it still so slow as 808 PureView has double fast processor clock compared to N8?
And unfortunately 808 PureView still has a bug they introduced with Symbian Belle - bluetooth connection with some hands-free car devices do not work correctly, eg. with Bury CC9045 V04. You do not hear the first incoming call, need to drop it and wait for a second call.
Apart from above, it is a great phone!

  • Mac & Nokia Syncing Over-the-Air vs Bluetooth

Over the last 5 years, I've owned a number of high-end Nokia phones and Mac laptops. The principle source of my anguish has been keeping my Nokia's contacts in Full-sync with my Mac's Address Book ;-)
I think I ended up buying 3-4 different iSync Bluetooth plugins for different Nokia phones over the years to accomplish this goal. I've been asking myself can't I use the Internet to sync my Nokia contacts with my Mac's Address Book?
That way I'd possibly have another implicit copy of my vital personal contacts info in a protected Internet server in case I need to restore my contacts?
Am I asking for something that all PC users (not Mac users) get to enjoy? Is there any Mac-based modern server-oriented solution out there that circumvents all the issues that come with Bluetooth pairing and changing iSync plugins??
I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, opinions in this Mac & Nokia area.

A Nokia Ovi Suite for Mac sounds great. I hope, however, it fits in and reuses things that are already in the Mac. For example, I love the currently arrangement of an iSync plugin to sync to the Mac's AddressBook and iCal, and NMT to sync to iPhotos, iTunes, etc. It would be better to sync directly from iTunes like how it works with an iPod Touch or iPhone, but I suppose Apple doesn't want 3rd party hardware to enjoy this level of seamless integration. Perhaps it would be nice to have NMT integrated as a System Preferences pane.
My point is, don't recreate things that already work beautifully on the Mac.
Btw, NMT is broken on Snow Leopard. Any information on when this will be fixed, or if this is being looked at?
If Apple is not going to all Palm to have direct access to the iTunes database, you can be 100% sure that Nokia will not get access. Apple is protecting their territory I guess. There is nothing wrong with the way NMT works except that it does not work well. In my opinion as a .v1 user, it has never worked really well. It seemed that NMT was more of a hobby than a serious attempt to create functional software.

  • Any way to sync iCal notes w/ Nokia phone?

I was pretty bummed to learn that even though my Nokia syncs perfectly with iCal and Address Book, it completely ignores the notes attached to my appointments and To-Do items. This is a major bummer. Is there any solution?
I did find a widget that allows me to sent notes to my phone, so a workaround is to copy the note text, paste it into the widget, and send it to the phone, but it gets saved in the Notes app, not associated with an appointment or to-do.

I do that by syncing my laptop iCal with my iPod, and then moving my iPod to my desktop and importing the calendars. The way this works is kind of clumsy, maybe because I don't know better. But what I have to do is delete the calendars from my desktop computer that I want to update, and then import the new ones from the iPod. Then I have to reset the colors on the calendars I just imported. It's not a perfect solution, but it works well enough.

  • Satellite U300-130 - TosBtMng has stopped working after Nokia PC Suite installation

I've got the same problem too... with Toshiba Satellite U300-130.
Bluetooth had worked pretty well before I installed Nokia PC Suite for my mobile on my PC (the newest version 7.1.26.0 from website).
To be correct, at first I even managed to maintain a Bluetooth connection between PC and Nokia and ran syncronisation of contacts. I made several attempts but each time syncronisation run ended with message "PC coudn't get answer from your Nokia".
After rebooting, my PC went crazy and started issuing message "TosBtMng has stopped working" and it restarted every time I ask it to close.
Installation of new version of BT Stack (6.40) didn't fix this error.
    Please help

    Hi there
I answered an existing thread with the same problem, but no-one can help apparently.
Anyway,,, I can at least help you with getting rid of the looping setup. You need to rename the directory with the Toshiba bluetooth stack.
I also have Nokia syncing and it worked fine until recently. - I have to say I think the problem relates to a Windows auto upgrade.
How to solve this is a different matter. At this moment I have given up. The Toshiba bluetooth stack disabled.

  • Problem updating Nokia N97 firmware over the arir ...

    OK here goes,
I'm having some real problems updating the firmware on my white nokia N97
I recently bought it of the web as a 12 month contract onto t-mobile (not there website though) in th uk
After noticing some problems i googled and noticed a firmware update had been released on 1st july 2009
I tried to get the firmwae over the air (OTA) via typing in *#0000# and selecting check for updates. I get no updates available for nokia and t-mobile (unsure what the difference is?)
So i heard try using nokia software updater.
i downloaded latest version 1.6.13 and installed it on a windows vista 32-bit home premium laptop ok
i have also installed all of the stuff that came with the cd with the phone (ovistore etc )
when i plug the phone into the laptop i get four options (PC, media, usb and something else) first time it ran it installed the necessary drivers and so therefore when i now plug it it just connects as expected.
so the laptop is detecting the nokia n97 at this stage
when i then load nokia software updater click next i put the phone into general mode on full charge with a sim card in it and click next again to detect the phone is pc suite mode
after about 2 minutes it says it can detect the phone although i can go to my computer and traverse the folder view!
i can even set it off looking for the phone pluggin it in and the autoplay options of vista will kick in in the background detecting the phone (ie outisde scope of nokia software updater)
i have tried all different connections mode pc suite mode etc different profiles nothing. tried it onto different pcs with different windows version on it. tried reinstalling software updater
my software version is 10.0.012 and my product code is 0587240
interestingly when i goto the can i update on nokias website it says no i have the latest version when i supply this information. weird
im kinda in catch 22 because there is a bug with pc usb detection of the phone in version 10 but i cant update to version 11 because of this bug
its driving me nuts any help greatly appreciated
    thanks in advance
    Cheers

just what i wanted cheers nokia
It will break your facebook as you have re-formatted the C: drive of you phone. Was you facebook installed to the E: drive by any chance?
Go to OVI Store and re-install it.
It may be work installing it from OVI Store then un-installing that one to clean off the mess you have been left with post formatt and then re-installing it fresh from OVI Store.
As I always say. Before doing a re-format always  uninstall all apps/widgests before doing a hard reset or factory reset.
I also do a this and a factory reset before firmware updates to clean my phone. Should really do a hard reset/format as this would be cleaner still, but tehn I would have to do a lot more set-up afterwards.

  • Has anyone got Thunderbird/Ovi sync to work?

Been trawling through posts discussing error "80043c93" when trying to sync with Thunderbird.
As they seem to mainly consist of people experiencing the issue with no feedback from Nokia, I was hoping it might be possible to find an OS/thunderbird/Ovisuite version combination that might work reasonably reliably.
Failing that, are there any plans to allow Ovisuite the old fallback of flat file import/export?
Any assistance at getting some rudimentary sync capabilities (contacts, at least) would be most appreciated - am even up for bespoke/non-nokia syncing solutions that support the E72.
    Thanks in advance.

I have a new E63 and I use Thunderbird on Windows Vista.
Trying to get any kind of sync seems impossible.
The 'PC Suite' installed, connected to the phone, and seemed to do a sync.
Despite saying things like '69 contacts synced successfully ...' - nothing had actually happened. So I tried Ovi Suite.
Nokia says you can install one over the other, so I did.
Ovi Suite installed and ran successfully but the error 80043c93 came up and ... no sync.
I uninstalled 'everything Nokia', turned off, unplugged, etc.
I then did a completely clean install of Ovi Suite from a newly downloaded copy (just in case).
    Exactly the same result.
This is categorically a major failing (bug) with the software.
The real problems, as I see it, are these:
    1) Cryptic error codes with no help or guidance in the software itself; and
    2) a seeming lack of responsiveness from Nokia themselves.
I cannot find any other sync solution at present so I shall have to abandon my efforts.
I am very pleased with my Nokia phone but it is hurt by this poor software and support.
I am not overly cynical but this 'upgrade' to PC Suite seems to be wholly geared to
leveraging cash flow from the Ovi store/library rather than helping/empowering users.

  • How to sync contacts

i m using nokia 500.. How s sync my contacts from nokia sync? I was sync my all contacts to ovi sync.. Bt now i updated nokia sync.. It doesnt sync my contacts.. Plz reply me..

This is because synchronisation with Ovi contacts has been discontinued. Do you want to synchronise your contacts? If yes, you can use Nokia Suite to do this. For more info, see the video tutorials on Nokia Suite page.

  • Nokia 5300 - Hard reset?

    Hi all,
I've got a problem with my Nokia 5300 XpressMusic (S40 phone). While searching for a good synchronisation tool (the Nokia Sync isn't really my piece of cake), one of those third-party tools I tried has been able to mess up my phone. The OS and all is still working, only the screen gets frozen during start-up (so I can still do everything, but without visual).
I have had this problem already some weeks ago, but I didn't suspected that tool then. That time, I've sent my phone to Nokia, and they managed to repair it (re-flashing or really resetting it, I guess).
But this time I'm trying to reset my mobile my self (as it takes some weeks sending it to Nokia and repairing it), but I can't seem to find the correct code... I have already tried *#7870#, which does work, but doesn't reset enough to get my phone working again. I tried starting up while holding "green phone" + "*" + "3", which seems to reset something too, but again not enough.
So, if anybody got some other resetting codes, or any other method to reset my mobile (e.g. by remote USB application, I tried OS upgrade, but it hangs at 25%), I'd greatly appreciate that
    Thanks in advance,
    maleadt

  • E6, sync with gmail, error "invalid remote databas...

    Hi,
I am trying to synchronize my Google calendar with Nokia E6.
    I go to
MENU -> SETTINGS -> CONNECTIVITY -> DATA MANAGER -> SYNC
and the new profile I created as guided on:
    http://nokiadownloadblog.com/guides/tipsync-google-contacts-nokia/
when I synchronize I got an error:
    invalid remote database
I check calendar name in gmail and in Nokia sync profile. In both ways the same.
Any idea what does "invalid remote database" mean?

I doubt this will ever work. I tried it once on Symbian^3, just for fun, got the same error and gave up.
I recommend to use MfE instead, which works exceptionally well with Gmail/calendar/contacts on Symbian Anna.

  • Nokia softwares for Mac

Does nokia support Mac? If so, where can i get relavent softwares for my Mac?
I've recently bought Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type, and despite reading great reviews, my experience with this phone hasn't been very pleasant. I'm mainly really **bleep** off because it doesn't play my mp3 files, and the quality of 5.0 MP camera is not that great. I've seen posts on issues with mp3 files, but no solution.

In  2006 I was looking for a  iSync PlugIns and I funded the "how to edit iSync" web page by

    Here: How to Edit iSync
I did use this trick for syncing Apple adresse book on two phone by editing the phone "MetaClasses.plist" file iside iSync.
I have just push my luck a little more and edit the "Nokia-7370.phoneplugin" to work as the  "Nokia-7020.phoneplugin".
    If you want to try:
    A Disclaimer...
Modifications to your iSync application are done at your own risk. Back up iSync before messing with it. The phones may not all work with the same code.
    Copy:

    As:
