Noobs first forum help request.

Hi.
I'm a Brit living in Korea and after 7 years of cell phone **** (having a phone that has only partial and badly written English menu)I finally got an iphone.
The manual is in korean and although i've changed all the language settings to English I have to admit that i dont know how to use some features.
Here are a few initial questions. I hope someone can help.
1. Is there any way to see a menu of 'all' the free apps in intunes and not just the top 100?
2. When I make vidios they play well on the iphone but are very stuttery on my pc. Is there a reason for this.
3. I have no idea how to transfer my mp3 collection onto my iphone. I plugged it in and on my computer it just shows up as a camera. When i look into it i can only see photos and videos. When i dragged and dropped a folder into itunes it just dropped the contents and they get mixed up with all the other song on it. After syncing though, when select 'ipod' it says no content? Im confused.
The tutorial videos on itunes seem more like marketing videos than actual in depth help vids. Is there any link where i can find specific vids to hep me. I used monkeysee.com but they were all from version 2.
4. It's a pain when i watn to organize the apps and their positions. Even when i do it with itunes. When i move one app say to the first screen it messes up the position of all the other apps. Is there anyone to lock an app so it stays exactl where i put it even if i move other apps onto or around that screen?
5. Why can't i get rid of the apps that i will 'never' use such as stocks?
6. Is there a manual i can download that shows me all the basics of how to use my iphone?

Hi, unfortunately there is no way to remove the apps that come pre-installed (from Apple) off of the iPhone. This is just the way they made it. As far as the music goes, when ever you drag a folder or import a CD the contents within that item will add into iTunes and not the folder itself or CD. If you want certain content in a certain place you can create playlists by going to File>New Playlist in iTunes on your computer. As far as "locking" apps goes you just have to keep them where you want them. If you put the app you want on a certain home screen between 2 other apps its going to put the one you want in the middle and vice versa.
As far as free apps in itunes you can try searching "free apps" and see what results come back. Not sure if this will show all or some but may help.

Normally pressing F1 helps gives Documentation present in Data Element assoicated with the field. Exactly in what cases would we be needing to use this event.

at selection-screen on value-request for p_file.
call function 'F4_FILENAME'
       exporting
            field_name = 'p_file'
       importing
            file_name = p_file.
If you code in the same manner in the selection screen you will able to search and select a file from your work station, so that it will be uploaded in SAP.

To display data element supplement documentation, you must code the following screen flow logic in the POH event:
PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST.
FIELD <f> [MODULE <mod>] WITH <num>.
After PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST, you can only use FIELD statements. If there is no PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST keyword in the flow logic of the screen, the data element documentation for the current field, or no help at all is displayed when the user chooses F1. Otherwise, the next FIELD statement containing the current field <f> is executed.
If there is screen-specific data element supplement documentation for the field <f>, you can display it by specifying its number <num>. The number <num> can be a literal or a variable. The variable must be declared and filled in the corresponding ABAP program.
You can fill the variables, for example, by calling the module <mod> before the help is displayed. However, the FIELD statement does not transport the contents of the screen field <f> to the ABAP program in the PROCESS ON HELP-REQUEST event.

First BB and First forum post for Help - UMA on the 8900 - Orange UK

Help!!!
This is my first BB and my first post on a forum.
I got my first BB about 5 weeks ago. Loving it.
I got the phone and connected to my home Wi-Fi straight away and the was able to connect using UMA, calls, txt etc.
Today, all of a sudden it will not use UMA, this is a big problem for me as where I live there is terrible network coverage. The Wi-Fi signal is good, there is a broadband connection, my BB has connected to the Wi-Fi and using the browser it is connected to the Web.
I'm on Orange UK - using BT HomeHub for the Wi-Fi.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I should have read the other posts about this problem sooner!!
I'm now back and working on UMA.
Anyone else who has this problem (with common factors), simply turn off, remove battery, turn back on and reconnect with your Wi-fi ( deleting your previous Wifi profile will not hurt!!!) and it should work ok. It did for me.

Find and Replace Issue Help Requested.

Hi all. I've been digging around for a couple of days and
can't seem to figure this one out. For starters, I have already
looked at the Regular Expression syntax and tried the MS word
clean-up option, but no luck. We have about 1,500 pages of content.
They are in DNN, so the pages are created dynamically.
Unfortunately, the page content was written in Word and then dumped
in DNN. We are trying to clean up the pages. We are grabbing the
content from Dot Net Nuke and putting it into Dreamweaver 8.0.2.
Then we are manually cleaning out things like:
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
and

We are using the Find and Replace funtion in Dreamweaver to
clean out these commands, but I know from the documentation, there
is an easier way to clean these pages.
Bottom Line: Since the pages are dynamically built, I know I
have to grab the page content and put it in Dreamweaver manually
and then put it back in DNN, but I am trying to find a way (using
Regular Expressions or something) to look for all the little
variances of MSO, <?XML, etc. in a straight shot. I would like
to find a way to use a wild card to look for all tags that have MSO
or Microsoft or ?XML in them and then replace them with a null
value. From what I can tell, the Find would have to use a wildcard
because the advanced find features don't carry what I am looking
for. Something like Find \<?xml * [<-wildcard] to \> to
grab the entire tag. The Find tag command doesn't work because the
tags I need aren't listed. Also, because the content is dynamic, I
can't do a Fins and Replace against the entire site for these
commands, but it would be nice to "Find" all of these items with a
single pass since the "Replace" value is always null.
The wildcard syntax and multiple Find instances are the main
questions. The wildcards seem to be character or space specific.
Sorry for the long explanation - I just don't want to waste
anyone's time typing responses to things I've already tried to do.

there are two main sections, as follows:
<\?xml[^>]+>
and
<[^>]+(?=class=Mso)[^>]+>
They are separated by a vertical pipe (|), so they simply act
as
alternatives.
The first one searches for <?xml followed by anything
except a closing
bracket until it reaches the first closing bracket.
The second one is more complex. It begins with this:
<[^>]+
This simply looks for an opening bracket followed by anything
other than
a closing bracket. What makes it more intelligent is the next

So I went to bed at 3am last night, I did go far, as I was taking updates, installing drivers, changing drive letters… etc..
System seems to be stable at stock/default 10.3 bios settings, all I changed was to set fans on CPU (I selected 70C to be my goal) and SYSFAN1 to run at 50% (my 140mm internal fan, which is strapped to the drive cage).
The NIC card seems to be working fine, Intel IGPU video works fine (using dvi to hdmi cable). I haven’t installed any temp monitoring software so I cannot tell you how is my IB CPU.
The only problem I found last night was I couldn’t get any audio from rear speaker output (I tried display’s and 2.1 speakers). The driver seems to be working, because I can see sound bar moving up and down. Also when I connect my headphone to my front audio output, I can hear sound and I get pop up saying I have headphones connected. When I remove headphones I get another pop up saying the headphones have been disconnected. When I connect anything to the green output (speaker out), I get pop up saying rear speakers were detected, however there is nothing no static, noise or anything… I tried to disable/enable device without luck. I’ve used all drivers from MSI website, should I try to see if there are newer/older drivers? Since I’m currently using 10.3 BIOS, should I try latest 10.5? Have you guys heard about this problem before? If you have any ideas please let me… I did poke around BIOS but I couldn’t find anything related to audio…
Overall (other than small audio hiccup) “so far” I’m very happy from my purchase…

I know, another Time Machine help request

I get the Time Machine back up error. I recently purchased a Seagate GoFlex Desk external drive. Time Machine seemed to recognize it right away. The following morning I found the dreaded "Time Machine could not complete the backup. Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup folder."
I have formatted the external drive per Pondini's step by step; MAC OS Extended (Journaled). No luck. Then I downloaded Time Machine Buddy Widget. I don't know how to copy the error messages in the pop-up. Apparently it is having an issue with a movie that was downloaded from Itunes. I proceeded to exclude it (band-aid). However, I will run Time Machine again and it will have a problem with another file. The error code is consistent; Error (-36)

Help Requested - Creating Solaris 10 x64 Virtual Machine on an ESX Server

I have been trying to create a Solaris 10 64 bit Virtual Machine on ESX and VMWare server Virtualization Platform.
One of the forum entries said - The installer doesn't really care. At every boot, the processor type will be determined and a 32-bit or a 64-bit kernel will be run (unless you override it)
I hence downloaded the iso from http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/get.jsp and I installed it. When I run uname -a command on the terminal, this is what is displayed -
SunOS unknown 5.10 Generic_127128-11 i86pc i386 i86pc
This indicates that the kernel is 32 bit right?
Please help me create the 64 bit VM.

JAX-WS contract first solution help needed

I am trying to create a bunch of web services using jax-ws which I will deploy on Jboss. I would like to create xml schemas and wsdl files before I create my solution because I want a clearer contract betweent client and server that is not defined by the server code.
I have managed to create an xml schema and generated the message files. I also created a wsdl file and implemented a service endpoint which refers to the wsdl file.
My problem now is that I cannot seem to get the mapping (marshalling) to the Java objects to work correctly. When I create a simple client that calls the service defined in the wsdl file I have managed to get the request to map to the webmethod in my endpoint. But I cannot seem to figure out how to get my message validated against the schema, which means that I can call the method with any type of request without getting an error message. This is also true for the return object. The solution doesn't seem to care whether I return a string or the object defined in the wsdl file.
I created my solution as a "regular" jar which I deploy on Jboss.

In multithreading, all the threads are independent. Here the threads miao and bau are independent.
There is no guarantee which thread executes first. In your program for miao you explisitly called sleep and hence bau thread executed.
Explanation:
========
When you start both the threads miao and bau both are in runnable start. Only one thread can go to running. Lets consider miao goes to running state. Because you called sleep miao goes to sleeping and bau goes to running state and once the sleep completed for miao it goes to runnable state and as bau is in running and once bau completes miao again goes to running state and then it also completes.

AppleCare or Customer Relations help requested

I have been a Apple customer for years. Started with a II+ followed by Mac+, MacII, iMacG3, MacMini G4, then another Mini G4, and now a MacBook Pro. Macs have worked well for me, and in return, I have bought several Apple products.
Unfortunatley, the string of luck with my Macs has come to an end.
I got on the waiting list to upgrade to a MacBook Pro as soon as they came out. By the second week they were shipping, the store called me and told me they had my MacBook. Very good service.
I get it home and first find that even though its a notebook, its NOT a laptop. Even Apple won't call it a laptop, they call it a portable. You know why? Thats because they run so darn hot, if you sit it in your lap while running, it will literlly burn your legs, and I have to put a pillow in between it and my legs.
After 3 months of using my new MacBook Pro, it started rebooting randomly, had lousy performance, and was overheating. I took it to the apple store for repair. They replaced the motherboard, heat riser, and a couple of other items and return it to me. The random reboots are gone, but it still runs mighty hot.
Take it home. Use it for a couple more months. Now it starts having other problems. Like it just randomly powers off. No warning. No battary low prompts. Just boom, and it shut off, even with a battary that has a 90% charge.
It also locks up frequently. Not completely locked up, just fits of no response. For 15 or 30 seconds, the computer just won't respond. No mouse clicks. No keyboard entry. Won't even respond to trackpack movements.
Then, after using it for a couple of hours, it gets dog slow. The same apps that ran okay right after you fired it up just start running slower and slower. It's not running out of memory, as I have 1.5GB of ram in it. For some reason, it just gets slower with use, even if you close all apps, and restart just one app. It's not whats running at all, it's just how long you use the computer after startup that effects it's performance. And no, I don't run PPC apps. I only run universal apps.
I post this information on a popular mac forum, and someone tells me that the fan is defective, the computer is overheating, and therefore, the processors are slowing down to protect themselves from generating more heat.
I know intel processor are designed to do this through their TM1 and TM2 thermal monitoring, so this makes complete sense.
I go to apple store, they do some tests, tell me that I have a bad battery. They replace it under warranty and call it fixed, and tell me to pick it up.
This may explain the random shutdowns, but it doesn't explain the constant performance problems. I told them about the overheating, and again, they failed to listen, although they did run 24 hours of testing. I guess they get so many hot MacBooks, that they don't really know when one really runs hotter than it is supposed to
I guess I'm just frustrated. I'm going to pick it up again tomorrow, but with only a battery replacement, I really don't think they have addressed the other issues, and I know I will be bringing it back in again.
As a devoted Apple customer, I am starting to loose faith. Can someone in AppleCare or cutomer relations help?

Don't take this wrong. But I'm not going to spend $60 more dollars on this computer to turn it from a portable into a laptop.
They sell these things to the un-suspecting public (at least in the beginning) as laptops. If the thing is designed wrong and gets too hot to put in a lap, then don't call it a laptop - which they don't now anymore.
I may sound stubborn here but let me make my point. Everyone wants me to spend money to cover apples less than stellar product. Buy a iLap to make up for the heating problem. Buy apple care to insure that my lemon keeps on running after the warranty 1 year warranty. Someone else has suggested that I try to debug the problem with this computer and take pride in solving it myself - and to some point, I agree with him.
But the thing that makes me mad is that I paid a premium for this computer. I was an early adopter that bought this computer in week 2. I bought this computer to move over to the intel core mac's for the extra performance they offer, and because I have had such good experiences with apple and Macs before. I'm just not going to invest more of my time in this thing. It's time apple step up and take responsiblity.
