Not sure how to explain but mac 27" desktop - keyboard and track pad safari and chrome keys pressed sending me different places
Basically, if iam opening an email in gmail it opens a tab for the email or if I am typing a password it opens documents. Trackpad and keyboard keys opening things I did not open. Please help. I've restarted twice and it isn't helping. I've replaced batteries. Thinking it's internal and not the keyboard or track pad. thank you.

If I press anything on the dock it takes me to finder window. It lets me open from finder window

I've tried different browsers -same thing so I am thinking it's the computer.

Was Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed when the computer was new?

How to replace or upgrade a drive in a laptop
Step One: Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Step Two: Remove the old drive and install the new drive. Place the old drive in an external USB enclosure. You can buy one at OWC who is also a good vendor for drives.
Step Three: Boot from the external drive. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager appears. Select the icon for the external drive then click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Step Four: New Hard Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your new hard drive (this is the entry with the
mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of
the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive
is failing or has failed and will need replacing. Otherwise, click on the
Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from
the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended
(Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to
GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and
wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the
drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main
window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the
Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to
return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several
hours depending upon the drive size.
Step Five: Clone the old drive to the new drive
1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the
Destination entry field.
5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the
Source entry field.
6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the new internal drive. Source means the old external drive.
Step Six: Open the Startup Disk preferences and select the new internal volume. Click on the Restart button. You should boot from the new drive. Eject the external drive and disconnect it from the computer. -
BB Curve 8310 Not sure how to upgrade handheld OS/Which Desktop Software?, questions
I am a new smartphone user, this is my first.
The OS version I have on my phone now is V4.5.0
Should I upgrade to V4.50.306? (I have AT&T as my carrier and that is the most current upgrade available.)
What happens when I do the upgrade?
Will I loose any programs on my phone, like Documents To Go, Facebook, Email Accounts I've already set up, or information in my address book?

Also, how do I run Outlook from my BB and sync to my desktop? Does this use data to do this? Am I better off to use the calendar already provided on my phone? Or are their other options? Thanks!Ok, that is a lot of questions for one post, but let me take a shot at it.
First download/install desktop software 6.0.1, its the newest, its backwards compatable with all devices and its pretty easy to use.
When you plug your device in, desktop software will let you know if an update is available (only through your carrier though). When you update through desktop software it should preserve all your data.
As for syncing to outlook, you can set up desktop software to syncronize between your BlackBerry and a program on your computer (such as outlook) via your USB cable (not data). It can syncronize 4 things: Address book (aka contacts), Calendar, Tasks (aka to-do list), and memo pad.

okay so I'm not quite sure if anyone is going to understand what I'm talking about...
But for some reason when someone adds me to skype (sends me a request) it says "Hi, White Asian!... so and so wants to add you.. blahblah etc." It says something other than my current user name, or my current display name, or my first and last name. I have know idea why it says this. I've had skype for a long time now and several years ago I believe that I changed my display name to "White Asian" as a joke. It hasn't been that for a long time now and I have no idea why it shows up like that when someone sends me a request on skype. I've tried changing every possible thing to do with a name in the profile/user settings to no avail. THe only time it shows up (that I'm aware of) is when someone adds me.
So if you have any idea how I can fix this or why it's happening please let me know immediately!
Its driving me mad because I don't know how to fix this!

Not sure how to explain- website difficulties
Okay so here's the problem. I have had a website for a number of years for a film I produced. I am now selling dvd's on Amazon and wanted to update. The web designer said she would not do updates and when I asked how to she said by dreamweaver. Well that wasn't going to happen so I re-did everything on iweb. used the tutorial from Hostmonster on how to bring iweb pages up but what's odd is that when I type in my address, on FIrefox it's showing the old web pages. But when I use Safari it goes to the web address, well not exactly it goes to domain name /welcome. It won't come up just with domain name. HELP please
Try clearing Firefox's caches and try the URL again. Go to FF's Advanced/Network Preference pane where you can clear the caches.

Well when a family memeber rang my facetime, i realised that only my iphone rang and not my macbook, i waited for a while to see if it just needed time to introduce the call, however this didnt work out. I registered my new iPhone 5s to my usual Apple ID, however it isn't showing in my devices when I log in. I tried to register it by adding a new device, but it tells me it's already registered to a different Apple ID. I'm really not sure how to fix this. I only have the one Apple ID and the phone is brand new, purchased directly from Apple.
When I check on the phone itself (iCloud and App Store settings) the Apple ID is correct. I'm not sure where else to check.
Whilst setting up the phone, it prompted me to register, which I did. Then when connecting to my laptop through iTunes it prompted me again so I registered again. I even got a confirmation email to the email address associated with my Apple ID that the registration was successful.
How can I add my iPhone 5s to the list of devices on the correct Apple ID?
