Number of active employees in a period

Could you please help me in this. I want to find a way to get the number of active employees in a period from SAP. And how can I calculate the average headcount.

Please try report S_AHR_61016369 - Employee list.
Let's say you want get the number of active employees for October 2010.
Then run the report as follows:
Data selection period : 01.10.2010 - 31.10.2010
Person selection period : 01.10.2010 - 31.10.2010
Employee status : not equal to 0 (this is the default value for this field)
Execute the report.
At the top you'll see the number of selected employees .

Try the following query
select count(*)

Number of active processes changing periodically

In my MacBook Air I'm noticing a strange thing. Using Activity Monitor I see that the number of active processes changes periodically. Initially I see 7-8 active processes and immediately after 2 seconds the number of active processes grows to 20 or even more and after a while it changes again to few processes. Is this normal?

It depends ob the processes, obviously, but it's probably normal. The system will naturally launch an assortment of background processes to handle different tasks as they arise.

We have Oracle Human Resources 11.5.7 and I would like to know which is the best way to use when need to query data for employees valid within a specific period (From/To) or at specific date.
For example:
Say Current Date= 25-OCT-05
1.
If I want to query the number of employees booked for a training event occurred as at 01-AUG-05 and one of the employees booked left as at 30-SEP-05, I would like to be included in the query.
or 2.
If I want to see the employees assignment details for a specific period to see the active(latest) assignment details as at that period.
I would appreciate any feedback regarding the best way to do such queries as far as accuracy of data and performance is concerned.

Actually I'm already using this..
My problem is when I need to retrieve information for a specific period of time.
For example say I want to retrieve all sickness absences for Year 2004 and want to retrieve the last employee details (people & assignment tables) that fall within this period (either with an effective date >= sysdate (ie. still active) or which was current upto 31-dec-2004 and might changed later on).
To be more specific let's say an employee took sick leave in 2004 for total 10 days and has the following rows in per_people_f and per_assignments_f:

16-MAR-2004 - 30-JUN-2004 3808 yyyy

and sickness days =10

Is It Possible To Create Different Personnel Number For One Employee

HI Experts,
My Client need to get Different Personnel number for one employee,i.e for Trainee one Personnel number need to generate and same person when moving from Trainee to Probation another new personnel number should generate and again when same person move from Probation to Permanent another new personnel number should generate.
1. How to generate 3 different Personnel number for One employee?
2. How these 3 Personnel number should get linked, if want to get report for this one employee?

Your requirement can be fulfilled but not recommended...
As you want to generate different position number at different stage of employment....
i.e Trainee to Probation to Permanent...
First go for Trainee Position Hiring .... and generate first Number Say 5000000
Then suppose employee complete training after 1 Yrs.. then again go PA 40 enter date as 01.01.2015 say... & execute... & give Ref. Personnel Number (5000000) & different position number... this time...
This will link up all the personnel date from previous hiring record... & as per your need you can modify it.... Finally one more number be generated....
Similarly,, you can do for Permanent employee...
Once training or Probation period gets completed you can lock/ separate that employee number
Report ...
You can get necessary details in IT0031...& with different Position numbers which you will using at different stage of hiring...

ABAP - Logic for finding out the active employee

I am trying to write the program where i need to set the flag "YES" to active employee for the particular time period for the particular position.
For example:
Row     Employee     DateTo     DateFrom          Position     FLAG
1     1     1.1.2009     31.1.2009          10     YES
2     1     1.2.2009     1.3.2009          10     NO
3     1     2.3.2009     31.3.2009          10     YES
4     1     1.4.2009     31.12.2009                           11     YES

7     2     2.3.2009     31.12.2009                           13     YES
Employee 2 gets assigned as of 1.2.2009 to the same position 10 on which employee 1 is already assigned. Therefore, as of 1.2.2009 emplyoee 1 is not anymore the primary employee of position 10. As employee 2 is leaving the position as of 2.3.09 employee 1 gets again primary employee of that position as of 2.3.2009.
Can any1 suggest me the logic for this?

My logic is something like this:

But here the problem is the it is taking the most recent datefrom and setting the flag as yes. How to check whether someother employee is active in the given time period and set the flag as YES? Only 1 employee can be active in the date period given.

How to generate BP number for the employee (ECC to CRM) ...

can any one give solution for ,how to generate BP number for the employee from ECC to CRM other than active status,as i downloaded employee data from ECC to CRM through ALE/IDOC,as only active employment status employees are got BP number generated,remaining also transfered to CRM but BP number is not generated for those employees,these employee records i can able to see in the HRP5580- HRP5587 tables.

Problem with WorkFlow of Purchase Orders related to non active employees

Dear all,
We are running into issues with the WorkFlow when people are linked to a PO who are not anymore an active employee. That will give problems in the workflow as those people are logically not going to goods receipt/invoice reciept/approve those invoices.
How should we deal with this problem?
We are thinking about a solution like creating an overview of ALL purchase orders (without Goods Receipt) in which the creator, project manager or project sponsor of that specific PO is not anymore an active employee.
Could someone please advise the right solution?

I want to get the no. of active employees in a employee subgroup on a particular date. I am not using logical database.
I am facing problem with the date .
my select query as below .

Please suggest the select query so the i can get no. of active employees working in employee sub group on LV_DATE.

You have to use a join with table PA0000 on PERNR with the condition ( PA0000-STAT2 = 3 ) Active and , LV_DATE >= BEGDA AND LV_DATE < ENDDA   .

Check the number of active users of oc4j in EBS

Hi,
I often see a recommndation of sizing jvm's to 1 per 100 active users. How can I find the number of active users currently using a jvm in EBS. We have 4 apps servers and 1 of apps servers also runs OBIEE with it's own jvm.
I can find out from a unix command prompt counting establish connections to the port but I like to know if there's a better way to find the number of active users using the jvm's

Hi,
To find the number of active user session on each of the application servers from a unix command line. I would find the port that Apache was listening on eg 8100. The use the following command on each of the apps servers
netstat -an | grep 8100 | grep -i est | wc -l
This gives a rough idea of how many active connections are established to the apps server. But I would really like to find how many users are actively using o4cj.
If you are using forms in socket mode again, you can grep on the forms listening port number to find how many active forms users are connected.
I can also see how many active connections are in the oc4j established to the database using lsof. Find the process id for oacore jvm.
lsof -p PID
But I'm sure there's a better and more accurate way of find active users of o4cj, specifically oacore.

I have an application deployed on jboss. DB used is db2. For monitoring purpose i need to get the number of active and idle connections at any point of time. I am trying to use commons-dbcp jar to get this data using BasicDataSourceClass. Following is the piece of code.

How to know the number of Active users logged in to a Essbase Application?

Hi,
Is there way to capture/log the number of active users who have logged into a particular Essbase application at a given time.
In Essbase or in Shared services?
I know we can see the EAS-Edit Sessions shows the actively logged-in users, then we can sort on the application/database & manually count the number.
Is there a way to capture it in a log at a given time on a regular basis. Any MAXL or Shared services feature?

You could use maxl .
display user all;
there will be a column called "logged in" which will display true/false for the users
but that will just show if they are logged into the server and not the application
You can also use use display session
display session all;
or
display session on application sample;
which should show what you are after.

How do I reset the number of activations on Visio 2003 after getting a "too many activations" message?

I just installed Visio 2003 on a PC, and got the "we can't activate this app via the internet because you've installed it too many times" message. I went back to phone activation, but, of course, that's no longer available for this product.
How do I get the number of activations reset? Apparently you used to be able to do this by calling Microsoft, but what's the number to call? Or is there another way to do it?
I'm probably going to need to do it for my copy of Office 2003 also.
