NVG589 RG low battery light blinks after power outage

ATT installed a new Motorola NVG589 RG about a week ago. After a power outage today, the low battery light keeps blinkingMeanwhile, an ATT automated call keeps calling my Uverse home phone telling me to replace the battery. Now, my Uverse phone has a low battery so I can't make any calls. It must be due to the low RG battery.I can't even call ATT (for some reason my cell phone is not working either) to get their help. The DSL is still working (so far).I see that the NVG589 has a battery.Do I need to replace that myself? (If so, where do I get a cheap one?)It must have been a bad battery to only work for a week.  Is there a warranty?I appreciate any advice you can send my way! Thanks a lot!EG

There may be a short (30 day) warranty on the Backup Battery, it would not hurt to ask.  Normally, though, you're responsible for replacing an exhaused backup battery.
Since the backup battery is designed to support the phone side of the RG during a power failure, it could be that the failure of that battery is causing an issue.  You could, for the time being, remove it and see if that helps with your U-verse Voice problem.  I doubt it's affecting your cell phone.
In your shoes, I'd click this U-verse Customer Service link to send a Private Message (PM) to the AT&T customer service team to help you resolve your U-verse Voice and Battery issue. You can expect a reply via return PM (the blue envelope   in the upper right hand corner of this site, next to your name and avatar) in a business day or three.
This is a group of U-verse service specialists who are knowledgeable about U-verse and will stay with your problem until the end (instead of forgetting about it when the phone hits the cradle). Speed things up by including your Billing Account Number, and the best time and way to reach you.

  • RE1000 power light blinking after power failure

I've tried the 8 sec reset and the 30-30-30 reset but can't get the light to stop blinking and so can't connect to the unit. It was working fine before the power went out. Any suggestions?

I had the same issue after a power outage today. I online live chat with an agent for about 15 minutes until he provided me three options all about that I would have to pay extra to get it replaced or fixed because mine was just out of warranty yesterday. I was lucky enough because mine RE1000 was not dead completely. I followed the instructions in this community and restored its service successfully.
    Here is what I did.
    1. Reset the extender by 30-30-30 method. The LED still blinked after reset.
    2. Turned off wifi on my laptop and assign a static IP on my laptop: 192.168.1.x. Ping RE's default gateway 192.168.1.1 with an Ethernet connection. It returned good result.
    3. Log on Web Admin Page and I was prompted to upload its firmware. Followed the screen instruction to upload the firmware that I already downloaded previously. Waited until everything was finished and it rebooted. Volla. It was back to life.
I guess it might have lost the firmware somehow after power failure. Is there a battery inside the extender to power the flash rom?
Here are few instructions I followed up:

  • Yoga 2 13" Dead? Battery light blinks 3 times but will not turn on.

Just purchased a Lenovo Yoga 2 13" about 3 weeks ago. I like the PC, but I have an issue. I was using it last night and I shut it down and left it to charge. Today when I went to turn it on the battery light blinks 3 times (1 second on, 1 second off x 3) and that's it. It won't boot at all. Have tried holding the power button for 3 - 30 seconds and pressing the reset button but all I get is the 3 blinks of the battery light (no power button light at all). Is there anything I can do? Hard reset button combo or anything like that to try? Thanks.

I'm having the EXACT same problem! The light blinks 3 times and the holding of the power button will not work either. My laptop said the battery was dying and was at 10% and before I could figure out why it wasn't charging, it died completely and the power cord will not charge it any more for some reason. I have only had this laptop for 6 months! And I replaced my old laptop (Yoga 13 original because of charging problems too!) I'm so upset about this. I will NEVER buy another Yoga/Lenovo.

  • HT1657 Was watching a movie on my iPad2 and it just stopped, thought it was a low battery but even after charging itbto 100% the movie won't play anymore. It shows the movie chapters but says the movie content can't be played. Please advjise

Was watching a movie on my iPad2 and the movie stopped playing, I thought it was because of a low battery but even after charging the battery to 100% it still won't play. I can bring up the movie & all the chapters but when I press play it says movie content can not be played. Please advise. Thanks!

I am having almost the same problem, with the same OS, iTunes versions, and kids waiting to watch their favorite movie (Frozen).  I am (trying) to play the content on the computer, and hooked up to Vizio TV and external stereo.
The video will display on the TV, but the audio will only play through the laptop. The movie will still play with both audio and video on the laptop.
In researching this morning, it seems that i need to purchase a new TV and stereo that are HDCP "compliant" (NOT just compatible). Folks are also complaining that the same "won't play" issues directly on Mac hardware.
I could not find any current software workarounds or patches (Apple seems silent on this as a "problem").
Upgrading hardware is insulting and (frankly) impossible.  Why should I get new hardware that works perfectly well?
I was going to get an Apple TV for Christmas, although not if new products cannot be used with my current hardware.   I would rather go back to all Microsoft hardware and software than constantly deal with troubleshooting Apple hardware and software.
I'm going to uninstall iTunes v 12 and reinstall v 11 to see if that works.
Please post if there is a solution!

  • Hyper-V - virtual machines don't start automatically after power outage

    Hi,
I have a HP server running Windows 2012 R2 + Hyper-V. On this server, four VM have Windows Server 2003 R2, and one VM has Windows 2012. After power outage, 1 2003 R2 VM and 1 2012 VM are started properly, but the other three machines aren't. I've started
it manually. All VM's have last version of Hyper-V integration tools installed, the option "Automatically start VM if it was running before the service was stopped" was chosen. I'm not very familiar with Hyper-V, so, I've investigated only Hyper-V-VMMS
event log. There are some recurring errors:
The Integration Services Setup Disk image could not be updated: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. (0x80070020).
    and
Failed to get the disk information.
    But I think it isn't a clue.
How can I clarify, why these machines aren't started automatically?

    Hi EugenBerend,
Maybe it is related to system resources allocation during the start up .
I would suggest you to configure a startup delay for those lower priority machines so that system
can locate enough resource for them.
    Hope it helps

  • E4500 firmware corrupt after power outage

Latest firmware with CCC corrupted after power outage. I reseet the e4500 several times and tried to reload the firmware and still no good. Only way I got it back up is to install the older non-CCC version 2.37. Strange all was fine until the power outage. Not sure if I should even bother to upgrade to 2.38 again.

Yes, power outages may caused some damage either on the hardware or software of the any device especially if there's some activity going on inside the device the time of the interruption. If everything is fine with the old version then there's really no need to update it but if you've noticed some issues, better upgrade to the newer version so to fix any problems.

  • Lion server : local user account disappear after power outage

On the server computer. After power outage I restart server the machine starts up ok.At login screen local user name disappear but there's others account same as client computer.I can log in to network account but can't log in as local.
In sytem preference local user account is still there.
I don't want to reinstall lion server .
    What can i do now?
    Thank you for your assistance.

It sounds like the user directory is damaged. You might try booting into the recovery partition, running Disk Utility, and doing a Repair Volume (and maybe a repair permissions) on the server volume.

  • X61 battery light blinks

    Hi
My lenovo x61 is 15 months old and the 8 cell battery on it was giving me around 4hrs battery life.. and then couple of weeks ago the system update software updated the bios and whole other bunch of software and after that the battery light started to blink when AC charger was plugged in and it would not charge the battery. The battery information says only around 320 cycles. and that battery cannot be charged.
I dont think a bettery can just die.. some firmware on the battery chip is causing this. lenovo refused to exchange it as it was just out of warranty.  Is there a solution to get that battery fixed by some kind of firware reset?  All this problem started after the bios and other updates done by the system update software.
Any advise to get the battery working would be appreciated.
    Lenovo X61 type 7764-cto
    Thanks

    I met the same problem.
    I bought my X61 on Sept. 2007.
6 weeks ago, when I was using the laptop, suddenly I noticed the battery indicator light was blinking very quickly. It's abnormal. Then I found the battery neither charged nor discharged. Now I have to use my AC adaptor always.
My battery's FRU P/N is 42T4505, I checked the recent recall:
    http://download.lenovo.com/lenovo/content/batt/082009/LandingPage.html?lang=en
But my FRU number is not listed on that page.
I downloaded the "Battery Verification Tool" from this page and run, then the tool direct to a webpage which said I couldn't replace the battery from Lenovo. And I found they will only change battery for free for those user who satisfied their 3 terms simultaneously
The battery must have already failed due to the Irreparable Damage error.
The battery FRU part number must be on the list support by the extended warranty shown in the model/part list on this page.
The age of the battery must be no more than 6 months past the expiration date of the battery warranty.
I checked by the windows battery manager, there isn't any warning message like "Irreparable damage" or "Battery cannot be charged" described on the above recall page. It only said the battery status is poor.
Does anyone know any other solution on this issue?
    Best regards,
    Sean

  • Camera not working and light blinking after upgrade

After upgrading to Mavericks, the built-in camera on my MacBook Air (mid-2013) has stopped working in all applications. When I start an application that uses the camera, the image does not appear, and the camera light blinks rapidly until I close the application. Console shows the following messages:
    11/24/13 11:34:08.000 a.m. kernel[0]: AppleCamIn::power_off_hardware
    11/24/13 11:34:08.000 a.m. kernel[0]: AppleCamIn::power_on_hardware

The latter two messages repeat until I close the application.
This is not the same problem as the Skype camera issue that was resolved with a previous update. I have tried resetting the NVRAM and PMU, reinstalling Mavericks, and using the guest account.
This user has the same issue: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23721483#23721483
Any help would be greatly appreciated — I would really like to have my camera working!

    Hello grmurchison,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your built-in iSight camera.  You have taken some really great steps to isolate and troubleshoot the issue.  I found an article with a couple of additional steps (you can skip the steps you have already taken):
    Built-in iSight cameras
These steps are for iSight cameras that are built into a computer, such as the iMac G5 (iSight) or later, the MacBook, or MacBook Pro.
See if the issue is application-specific.
Try another application (iSight works with applications like iChat, PhotoBooth, and iMovie HD 6) to see if the iSight camera exhibits the same behavior in all applications. If it only happens in one application, try reinstalling that application.
See if the issue is user-specific.
Test your iSight camera in another user account. If the issue only occurs in one user, the issue would be isolated to user settings.
Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight
Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder). Under the USB header, check to see if the iSight camera is detected.
    Reset SMC or PMU
Reset your computer's SMC or PMU, and then check System Profiler again. (SMC reset instructions for iMac G5 (iSight), Intel-based iMacs; PMU reset instructions for MacBook and MacBook Pro.)
If your built-in iSight camera is still not behaving correctly after trying all these steps, you may need to contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

  • Bogus Low Battery light? Results in Shutdown.

I charged my PB to 100% and put it on sleep mode. I dragged my finger on it and woke it up to find it reading low battery..it was only sitting for 15min! I ignored it and opened a few apps and poof...the low battery icon went away and the battery read 75% power. It has done this a few times. Just last night I had it on stand by with 100% charge. Low batt lite came on, i again ignored it as before. This time it just shut off and re started itself. Another time it just shut off with no warning. I have done the security sweep and hardboot with no luck. It's only a couple of moths old and hardly used. I have tried selling this before it happened and people laughed at me for buying crappy RIM products. I love my Curve phone but this thing really does suck. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

if you wiped it and still present, maybe you have a defective unit. non of my 3 playbooks does this.
it does have a 1 yea warranty from RIM.

  • Ix2 red light blinking after RAID 1 to RAID 0

Just bought a brand new Ix2 Lenovo unit. Quick start setup was easy, and I was able to connect to the unit. When trying to change disks to RAID 1 to RAID 0 through webpage configurator, it asked me to erase all data. I selected OK, since there was no data inside.
When building RAID after reboot, it goes to red light blinking. I have tried using manual reset button, but after few minutes with light blinking white, it goes to red again.
What did I do wrong?? Can you please help? It is a shame since I didnt have the unit for 24hrs.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Pemba21
If the unit has not passed the flashing white boot process, then there is something stalling the unit.
Did you run a factory reset from the web interface or from the rear pin-hole reset?
I recommend swapping the internal disks to opposite bays while the unit is powered off then try booting again.  It should only take about 5 minutes.
To access the disks, pull up on the faceplate and to unlatch it from the chassis, then pull the faceplate away from the chassis.  The disks will have a plastic tray that locks them in place.
If that does not seem to help, I recommend contacting LenovoEMC support to create an incident.

  • 865PE Neo2-PFISR problems after power outage

I need some help with a problem.  A recent power outage while my supposedly "surge protected" 865PE Neo2 based machine was running, apparently messed something up.  After our power came back on, I powered it back up and discovered that I now have 4 ongoing problems.  Problem 1) it now hangs twice during the boot process, once at "auto detect 3rd master - press escape to abort", which if I then press ESC, it then moves to "auto detect 3rd slave - press escape to abort" and hangs there until I press ESC, at which time it then finishes booting like normal.  (by the way, I don't even have any 3rd master or 3rd slave installed)  Problem 2) I can no longer enter the Bios setup, even though I press the DEL key at the appropriate time.  Problem 3) The case light for hard drive activity stays on constantly, even though the drive seems to be working normally without any other problems.  Problem 4) A few issues here.  My sata dvd/cd combo drive is no longer recognized as being installed; the activity light on the drive is constantly on even though the drive is not running; the drive bay will no longer open.
I'm guessing that something has possibly been damaged on the motherboard or maybe the bios was affected somehow, or maybe the power supply was somehow damaged.  Either way, I'm not sure what to do now.  With the exception of the problems I listed, my system otherwise works normally as it always has, with the only real downside being that I don't currently have a dvd/cd drive.  I haven't tried any troubleshooting myself because I'm not sure where to look or what to look for.  The specs for my system are listed in my signature, with the only change being that I'm still running the original Antec 350w power supply that came with the case.  I could sure use some expert advice and help with this.

    Problem Update.
Well, I finally got my machine up and running "almost" as good as it was before my power surge problems.  Thank you to everyone that responded with advice.  I ended up replacing the Antec 330w TruePower psu with the new Enermax Noisetaker 420w (EG425P-VE SFMA V2.0) that I had, and I had to replace the MSI sata combo drive (went with a Pioneer 710 DVD-RW, which is an excellent unit) and now things are back to normal.  Plus, I bought an APC 650VA/390watt battery backup with soft shutdown to help prevent any power outage problems again.
When I said "almost" as good as new, that is because this morning when I booted up, all I got was a black screen (no post) for a couple of minutes, and then a message appeared that approximately said "the dram timings are too tight, reload timings", or something like that.  Well, since the timings have never been changed, I'm not sure what is going on, but after turning it off and then re-powering it up again, it booted (though slowly at first) and I've just been letting it run all day.  Ha, just when I was ready to venture into OCing this rig.  Think I will anyway.  If the problem continues, I'll be back seeking helpful advice again.

  • Apple TV 2 blank screen after power outage

I recently had a power outage in my apartment and my Apple TV 2 never turned back on. It was plugged into a Cyber Power UPS surge protecter. I unplugged it and then replugged it in the next day and I got the white power light. I changed my TV input to the correct HDMI setting, and the screen was blank. I then tried to restore it using Itunes, Itunes did its thing and said the restore process was successful. I plugged it back in to my TV, and the screen was still blank. I've checked the HDMI cable and even changed outlets. The ATV has the white led light and even blinks when I press a button on the remote. I noticed that it will blink 3 times before "starting up" I don't remember that happening before. I also checked my router's signal light for the connection and there is no signal light on my router indicating that it's plugged in. I'm starting to think that maybe it's now just a dead box that so happens to turn on?

    Fixed it.
I got tired of dealing with it, so I unplugged the power and left the USB cable plugged in (purely being lazy).  After a day or so and several reboots I decided to try the restore one more time.  Surprisingly, iTunes still recognized the ATV was plugged in even though it didn't have power.  So I let it download and update the device.  Somehow it worked with no power plugged in, but I am now enjoying my ATV again.  Good luck to everyone else!
