NWDS - "Import Model" Window - Password field is disabled

Hi,
I am using the below version of NWDS;
Version: 7.0.14
Build id: 200711171656
When i try to import/re-import a model, the Password field on the Import Model Window is disabled. Can anyone please suggest what should i do to get this enabled. I am unable to proceed further.

I hope you are entering the landscape directory server URL in the specified path:
NWDS->Windows->Preferences->Java Development Infrastructure->enter URL (try to ping and check if this works).
once okay then just restart your nwds.
In case everything is fine. Please check with your network team.

How to Re-import model in webdynpro in NWDS 7.1 EHP1 version

Hi All,
We have webdynpro DC in NWDS 7.1 EHP1 version, we are trying to re-import the model which already exists in DC. actually in the BAPI ABAP people is added new field in the BAPI structure then we are trying to incorporate the same changes in webdynpro to reflect the new field in model through the Re-import model.
But when we right click on model and then selected the re-import then it is not happening any thing in studio its a kind of new action, but ideally in general it should open the new window where the SAP r/3 credentials should be given to re-import the model. In our case nothing is happening after we right click on the model on selection of "Re-import" model.
Please let me know what is the issue we have?, do we have any issue with our studio NWDS 7.1 EHP1 version? or should we follow any other procedure to re-import model in NWDS 7.1 EHP1 version.
In other versions of studio like earlier versions we were able to re-import the model thru re-import the model by right click on model. but the current version of studio NWDS 7.1 EHP1 should have problem for re-importing the model.

Hi,
1.Its Simple way. Just Right click on your Model--- Choose Re-Import. Then choose your RFCu2026Click on Finish
2. while re import the RFC u will get some error. By cache invalidation and Re Start the J2EE Engine Server you can solve the problem.
After Re-Import the model you can do cache invalidation
There is a need to restart the portal system to clear the cache. Once its done your application would work fine.
Another thing that you can try to clear the cache is
1. Go to link http://<servername> : <portname> /webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/WebDynproConsole
2. Click on the last link in detail navigation "Invalidation of ARFC Metadata Cache"
3. From "Adaptive RFC Metadata Cache Invalidation " tray, choose the JCO that you are using
4. From " Dictionaries Cache Invalidation" tray, choose the dictionary(model) whose cache you want to clear.
The above option saves time but in case it doesnu2019t work, you can go in for Portal restart. It would surely work.

How to disable Password field in Oracle User administration

How can I personalize the password field on the user - define form not updatable ? I have tried forms personalization on this field but it didnt work. Can anyone have an idea whether this field can be personalized at all

Save and close/open both forms. In Enter or Query modes, when ever user navigate to Password field, it is disabled and not editable.

Set MaxLength to Password field

I have developed small login window kind of application. I want to set maximam length for the password field. Narratively, I want to show the message "Password should contain upto 8 characters" if user types more than 8 letters. How to do that?

Remember that behind a swing control lives a Model.
The most appropriate way to provide constraints (such as max length) is to build the constraint in to the Model itself.
Text controls provide a getDocument() method which returns the Document (model) the control is associated with.
You will notice that Document provides a method to add a DocumentListener to it.
A DocumentListener added to a Document is notified of any changes made to the document.
So, suppose your document has a max length of 8.
When you receive notification of a change, you can check to see if this maximum length has been exceeded.
If it has, you can, for example remove the extra characters from the model.
There are probably other ways to do this - but remember that the Swing control is just a View of the underlying Model. The best way to enforce constraints is in the model.

Dynpro fields are disabled

Hi there,
I want to call a Remote function, but before that i want to set some fields by the values typed in by a web dynpro application.
I imported the RFC model, defined a view but when the view comes up for some reason all the fields are disabled.
Can anybody tell me what i should do in order to get the fields enabled

If the rfc imported is zabc_input, I hope you have done the following.

Suppose you have to input some String value and the attribute is name and mapped to an input field try out the following.
inp.setName(new String);

Switch from List of user to username and password fields?

I have my Login Window to display a List of Users by default.
Is there is shortcut key that switches to username & password fields so one can type in the username as well as the password?
I googled it and I found something like "hold opt+return and click on any username", does not work though...
I know that I can change it in System Pref. but it would be handy to know the shortcut key as well.

The "Option"-"Enter" trick should still work from the keyboard - use the arrow keys or type the first few letters of a listed name to highlight a username, then press "Option-Return":

As I recall, to do the same thing with keyboard + mouse, the modifiers to be used when clicking did change between 10.3 and 10.4 so some of what you find on the web may be out of date.

How can I prevent Safari/iCloud Keychain from saving data in our password field?

We have a web-based management system where administrators can set and update passwords for individual users. While I love iCloud keychain personally, the problem we are finding is that if the user, once prompted by Safari to Save the password in iCloud Keychain for Autofill, actually clicks 'Save Password', then our page wants to autofill that same password for any selected user or newly added user (and since we don't allow duplicates, constant errors result).
So the basic question: is there a way in HTML or Javascript to set form fields - or an entire form or div - to be ignored by iCloud Keychain, even if they are username or password fields.
We know we could just tell all our Safari users to disable in preferences with a pop-up banner, but that would be unfortunate (and IE-like)
(If this is the wrong place to find this type of info, any clue appreciated. Naturally we've searched a bunch already)

I have created form using Web Dynpro. In this form, I have provided connnectivity with R/3 using RFC. After creation of the form, I noticed that input fields are disabled. Can you please suggest me the possible reason for this. I have mapped input field with model's parameter.

Forgetting your Windows administrator login password.
With no way to get into the system, you can't even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up.
Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who's going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?)
But all hope is not lost.
There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we'll show you the light.
_1st Method:_
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.
_2th Method:_
There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Safari changes my keyboard layout when on password field

Hi,
after upgrade to Safari 5, I got really strange problem.
I have two keyboard layout configured, U.S., which I use regulary, and Czech, to which I switch on rare occasions when I need to write something in my native language. I have configured keyboard shortcut Shift-Cmd-Space for switching between those layouts.
Now, the problem is that whenever I enter a password field on a web page form in Safari, it immediately switches to the Czech layout and disables the U.S. one, so I even can not switch back! The keyboard shortcut does not work and the "U.S." item in the keyboard indicator menu is grey.
This is extremely annoying. Does anyone have an idea what is causing it and how can I fix it?
Also, I think (but I'm not sure) that I have sometimes seen this before. But now (probably after Safari 5 installation) it happens on all the passwords fields I tried (even on pages I never visited before).

mid-2008 15" MacBook Pro, Snow Leopard, Safari 5, all available updates. In the Language & Text section of the preferences, I have following settings:
Language: First English, then Czech, then the rest.
Formats: Region: Custom (mostly czech with some tweaks)
Input Sources: Keyboard & Character Viewer checked, Czech-QWERTY checked, English checked. Selected "Use the same one in all documents", checked Show input menu in menu bar.

Problem solved! I have installed Keywurl some time ago (I really missed Firefox's bookmark keywords). After I upgraded to Safari 5, Keywurl said "Ooops, I'm not tested with Safari 5, disabling myself", so I did not suspected it. But out of deseperation, I tried to remove the plugin completely from the disk. And it worked! No more problems with keyboard layout in password field. Strange, but at least it works.

I am working with MDM and loaded catalogue into MDM import manager. I did Mapping fields/Values and table mapping in Import status tab shows "Filed mapped 30 of 30". But the Import button (the exclamation point) is disabled in Import manager toolbar to import this to data manager.

Help with a password field

I have a Flash site I'm working on that has a private login
area. The login is not meant to be high security, we just want to
limit access to current and potential clients who we give a
password to.
Here is the site in

What I need help with is the client login window. The login
field is in a pop-up when you mouse over the word "client login."
The temp password is forumdemo. When you use the button after
typing in the password, everything is fine. But when you use the
enter key, it initiates the "incorrect' action every time, even if
the password is correct.
This is driving me crazy because when I originally built the
login box as an entirely separate movie, the enter key worked fine.
If you want to see it working, just click on the "client login"
words rather than using the pop-up box.
The code is the same in both. The only difference is that the
password field, button and other elements are now a Movie Clip.
Anybody have any thoughts? The scripts are below; developed
with the help of people on this forum (thanks!).
Ignore everything else - the content is not finalized. The
final site will be our company website, with work samples and the
like, and the main page will include a working demonstration of
what we can do with Flash 8 and green screen video. We haven't
finished that stuff yet.

No password field

Hi I have a windows 8.1 pro computer joined on a domain with all that latest patches. Today I ran the update to windows 10 directly from windows updates (not from a ISO image). Everything ran well for the install and the computer restarted. However
when the computer restarts I see my network user, local user and Other. I can select any one them and they enlarge into the middle of the screen, however there is no password field. I have tried Ctrl Alt Del and just typing, neither one of them
does a thing. My mouse move no problem and I can tab using the keyboard and watch the focus move with each tab press.
As it stands a have a dead computer, can anyone please advise!

Assuming you have build 10074 installed.
I installed 10074 yesterday, April 29th, and I don't have the problem you mentioned.
I used the ISO to install :
Download the ISO > right click at the ISO file > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
OR, if you care to try:
Download the ISO > burn it to a bootable DVD or USB with at leas 4 GB > use the bootable media to do a clean install.
