OAS 10.1.2.0.2 J2EE Support

Here:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/OracleAS-NF-1013.pdf
is a document that specifies OAS 10.1.3 support for J2EE.
I'm trying to find documentation about OAS 10.1.2.0.2 support for J2EE (what apis/packages and what versions are supported).
Thx!

  • XI Install - ABAP Support Packs + J2EE Support Package install

    Hi
I am wondering what is recommended sequence for installing/upgrading kernel, ABAP Support Packages & J2EE Support Packages for XI installation.
Should we install/upgrade kernel, ABAP Support Packages & J2EE Support Packages before XI 3.0  is installed? Or should we install these only after installing and completing post install steps of XI 3.0.
The Web AS install guide recommends to install the patches immediately after installing it, but prerequisite for XI install is Web AS SR1 i.e SP9(ABAP + J2EE.
Any suggestions in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Chandu

    Hi Shravan,
    Thanks for the response.
I have already gone through the note. According to the note, I assume the following sequence has to be followed:
    Install SAP Web AS (ABAP)
    Install SAP Web AS (Java)
XI Install & post install steps
Support Pack Stack for ABAP & Java
    XI Patches
However, when carrying out post install steps after XI installation, I am unable to perform some steps. Also, there is an issue with J2EE engine after XI install.
Further, I have installed and completed post install steps as per following successfully:
    Install SAP Web AS (ABAP)
    Install SAP Web AS (Java)
    XI Install
Support Pack Stack for ABAP & Java
    Post install steps
    XI Patches
What are the implications of applying ABAP & Java patches before XI install or before completing post install steps.

  • J2EE support in HP-Unix?

Do any one know what latest versions of the following items are supported by HP-UNIX 10.20
    1. J2EE version?
    2. JDK version? (is it upto 1.1.8 or more??)
    3. JSP version?
    4. EJB version?
    5. servelt version?
    Please advice me.

First, have a look at the website of HP (www.hp.com). You can download JDK versions for HP-UX there. I know that there is at least a version 1.2.2 JDK for HP-UX. For J2EE support, there are many application servers that work on HP-UX. I've used BEA Weblogic 5.1 on HP-UX, and version 6.0 or 6.1 should also work.
BEA Weblogic 6.1 supports the newest version of the J2EE API's, upto version 1.3 beta.

  • Two related questions:  ColdFusion 10/Java applications and J2EE supported servers

    I have two related questions:
    1.  CF10 and integration with Java Web applications
We have a couple of Java applications running on JRun and interfacing with CF9 applications.  The JRun clusters were created through the JRun Admin and, apart from lack of Axis 2.0 support, have served us well for years now.  And, as would be the case, the ColdFusion9/Java/Flash application is a critical public-facing application that the business uses for bidding on projects.
It appears that with ColdFusion 10 on Tomcat, we will not be able to run those Java applications on a Tomcat-CF10 JVM cluster.  Is this correct?  IF so, what are our options?
    2.  J2EE Application Servers supported by Adobe for CF10
    Which of these is correct?
    A.  This URL (http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion-enterprise/faq.html) states "ColdFusion 10 supports IBM® WebSphere, Oracle® WebLogic, Adobe JRun, Apache Tomcat, and JBoss."
    B.  This URL (http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/coldfusion/pdfs/cf1 0/coldfusion10-support-matrix.pdf) states:
    "J2EE application servers: WebLogic Server 10.3, 11.1, WebSphere Application Server 7, ND 7 JBoss 5.1, 6.0, 7.1.0"
I *think* "A" above is wrong re. support for Adobe JRun.  It does not specify a version of Apache Tomcat unless it is simply referring to the custom version the comes with CF10.
Option "B" above shows no support of Adobe JRun or 'standard' Apache Tomcat.
    Thanks,
    Scott

Question 1 above was answered:  "No support for Java web applications under CF10's custom version of Tomcat"
Question 2:  No answer yet:  Is Apache Tomcat (NOT Adobe's customized version) supported for CF10 J2EE deployment?  I do not see any installation instructions on how to install CF10 on Apache Tomcat 6 or 7.
Is anybody using Apache Tomcat as their J2EE app servers and, again, NOT Adobe's customized/limited version?
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • J2EE supported versions for NW04 and NW04S

    Hi ,
Can Pls anyone pointout some documents for the list of J2EE version support list( For Ex: JSP 2.0 suported in NW04S ) for NW04 and NW04S releases ?
    Thanks
    Praveen

    Praveen,
Both NW04 and NW2004s are J2EE 1.4 compliant. You can get these details by accessing PAM [here|http://service.sap.com/pam]
Check this [wikipedia link|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_EE_version_history] as well for more information.
And Java EE is supported in  NW7.1

  • Is J2EE supported win'95, win'98 platform?

Which operating system is needed to run J2EE? Does it support Win'98 or
one has to move to WIN NT?
I am not able to launch J2EE server on win'98 platform.
    Thanks in advance
    Sakina

    Hi,
I have run J2EE on Win98 without any problems, although NT4.0 can/ was a source of problems at times especiallly connecting to Access database. I am now running Win2000 also, and I think this is a brilliant updated version of nt4. Recommend using cloudscape or I have now set up MySql as database system. Access is fine for testing, not much else!
    Never tried it on win95.
    I have been using j2ee v1.2.1 rather than 1.3
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle 9iAS J2EE support

    Hi
From which version onwards Oracle 9iAS supports J2EE standards. We are using 9iAS version 1.0.2.0.0. Is this version supports J2EE standards. If not, to what version I should upgrade to make it J2EE compatible.
    Thanks
    Santhosh.

    Santosh,
    You have two choices:
Oracle9iAS Release 2 v902xx is J2EE 1.2 compatible with support for many of the most popular J2EE 1.3 features.
    Oracle9iAS Release 2 v903 is fully J2EE 1.3 compatible.
Both of these products have been around for a while.
    Hope this helps,

  • JDEV 1013 and deployment to OAS 10g (9.0.4)

    Hi,
I have read that OAS 10g (9.0.4) is not supported by Jdeveloper 1013.
Is that mean that I can't deploy an ADF/JSF application to the OAS 10g (9.0.4)?
    Regards,
    Cezary

    Hi,
yes and no. What it means is that you can't directly deploy from JDeveloper to this Application Server. Building J2EE 1.3 compliant applications and deploy the EAR file to OracleAs 9.0.4 should work. Note that if using ADF I am not so sure if there are issues when deploying the ADF runtime libraries.

  • Error while deploying EJB on OAS 4.0.8.1

I have installed OAS 4.0.8.1 on Windows NT 4.0 with Support Pack 6a. The java compiler used is from JDK 1.1.6 provided with OAS.
The following error occurs while deploying EJB on OAS. The error is the same while deploying through the node manager or by using oasdeploy command line utility.
    java.lang.NoClassDefFound Error
    Code generation for
    D:\\orant\\ows\\upload\\425BrowserBean.jar failed!
    Creating registration files.....
Unable to expand attribute Unable to load from C:\temp\src425\oasbae.properties
Please let me know the possible causes for non deployment of the bean on OAS.
    null

With JDev 3.1, we only support deployment to OAS 4.0.8.2.
JDev 3.0 supported deployment to OAS 4.0.8.1.
I believe most of this restriction is due to internal changes in OAS that we were only able to integrate with 3.1.

  • OAS 4.0.8.1/Redhat 6.2? WRKSF problem

Hi, I've installed OAS 4.0.8.1 on Redhat 6.2 but when I start the processes up the WRKSF goes down after a few seconds, I've seen a previous posting on this subject had a workaround proposed by Dennis Irwin which seemed to work for many people, unfortunately it didn't for me, I've spoken to Oracle about this problem but all they say is OAS 4.0.8.1 isn't supported for the 2.2.14 kernel in Redhat 6.2, 4.0.8.2 will be but they can't say when it will be released, until then OAS is basically useless for me, has anyone any suggestions?. Thanks, Geoff

According to ORACLE representatives, OAS 4.0.8 isn't their major priority : since Oracle iAS will be available in few days, and many less CPY and memory hungry as OAS, can't you wait a bit longer ?
An other point is that oas 4.0.8.2 will probably be one on their last release of this product ...
Take a look at the oracle iAS white paper, the product will be more reliable and standard : essentialy based on Apache 1.3.12, mod_java, mod_pl and JServ 1.1, and Oracle 8i Cache...

  • How to determine 640/J2EE Startup Framework Binary Patch Level?

    Hi All,
We are running BI ABAP with Java Add-in on WAS 640/SUSE/Oracle.
In the ABAP world, there are many options for determining the current kernel patch level.  Disp+work -v, SYSTEM->STATUS, etc..
How do I determine the patch level of the J2EE startup framework (ie: jlaunch, jcontrol, etc..)?  If I run these commands with '-version', I get a patch level of 0. From System Information, the Cluster Kernel Version is 6.40 PatchLevel 105424.313.
What I am trying to determine is if I have the binaries that map to the latest applied SP (18).  Do I need to download J2EERTOS18.SAR and apply the bits or has that already been done?  Or is the current patch level for the bits fro the J2EERTOS14.SAR file?  Etc...
    Any tips/suggestions?
    Thanks much,
    Greg

    Hi
    You can check the patch number like this;
    D:\usr\sap\FT0\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386>jlaunch -version

While regarding which file(s) to apply, please notice that the files you are not talking like
J2EERTOS16_1, is part of the J2EE support package stack, which can be applied with JSPM.
Regarding the kernel, you can alway refer to note 19466, and downlaod the lastest kernel from:

  • J2EE's potential classification HELP

    Hello,
I'm trying to do some kind of J2EE potential classification. I've written some thoughts from my point of view. It would be great if you could correct my list or add some other important functional features that makes J2EE a very powerful technology.
    1. It provides a great abstraction of HTTP protocol (Servlet API).
    2. It supports MVC pattern, that helps to divide the system into clearly distinguished components...
    3. It forces to create robust, more flexible web applications much faster, allowing to use templete engines such as (JSP, Velocity...)
    4. It encourages to use Component-based UI, which forces a faster development.
I think these are the most important features that J2EE supports. If you could add some of them to this list or comment those stated above, i would greatly appreciate that.
    Audrius

    Hi,
Please let us know the problem you are facing while installing.
Install J2EE 1.4 application server. You could create web application using it. It contains xerces parser for xml processing.

  • J2SE vs. J2EE vs. JWSDP

    Hello,
I'm trying to figure out the differences between these three packages. Does J2EE contain both J2SE and JWSDP? Is there a detailed list of what each of these contains? Forgive my ignorance. I've been reading a lot of descriptions on the java website, but I'm not finding a clear answer.
    Thanks!
    -jeff

To run J2EE you will need J2SE. J2EE has additional APIs for developing enterprise applications. You can see these api Specifications under:
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/
The JWSDP is intended for developing webservices it contains the following APIs:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/nutshell.html
Some of the JWSDP API are includes in J2EE 1.4 because this version of J2EE supports WS. The JWSDP can be used with J2EE 1.3 for developing webservices.
    hope that helps.

  • J2EE IPv6

    Hello,
I am working on a client/server application with J2SDKEE1.3.1 and J2SDK1.4.0 on a SuSe 8.0 linux machine to transmit messages over JMS. Everything is fine when I use IPv4 net. But if the same Application is in pure IPv6 net, I get "JNDI API lookup failed: javax.naming.CommunicationException:Can't find SerialContextProvider" on the side of the remote client.
I have edited the J2EE_HOME/config/orb.properties with the IPv6 hostname of the server. The ping6 is working. On the server machine I can see the server is listerning on the IPv6 ports. But the application doesn't work.
    What would be the problem?
    Dose J2EE support IPv6?
    Thanks a lot,
    yzliang

J2EE does support IP version 4 and 6. (Um, why dont we see v1,v2,v3,v5?? Thats another long story). Anyway, what IP address are you trying to bind to in relation to the server? The server is Linux? Or another Unix-based OS? If it is, there might be a default (daemon) servivce running already. Ping works not to see if the service (port) is available, but rather weather or not that IP is assigned to a machine, and if so if that machine is running. Look into your network configuration to see if there is some type of service running on it.
Hum, wait...you said that the server is using 1.3?? J2EE 1.3 does not support IP-6, unless you recompile the VM and include the updated class files.
From the exception thrown, it seems as that the network-adpater is not able to bind through the VM, this appears to point to the need to use 1.4.x as the JRE so that the correct IP can be serial-connected to the adapter.
