OBIEE - Apply thousandsSeparator in dashboard

Hi all,
After research on docs, I do not find the option to apply the thousands separator at all of my dashboards.
I would like to view all of my numbers with the thousands separator to avoid tick the option "use the thousand separator"

Hi ,
Once you configured the thosand separator for that column ,where ever you use that column will be effected for that
in the column proerties we will have the option .After selecting the thousand separator for that column below we will have the save icon (incolumn properties only)
if you click that you will get two options
1.As the system while defalut for that colum
2.and for that date type.

Issue : OBIEE applying default prompt values when pressing return button

Hi All,
On my dashboard, I am showing a summary report. This summary report has a link to detail report. I have provided a link for detail report just below the summary report on dashboard. Following is the issue which I am facing
[1] I run the dashboard for a particular prompt value on the dashboard. Let's say a date value = '1/1/2010'.
(There is no default value for the prompt).
[2] Now my summary report is updated according to the prompt value which I selected.
[3] I click on any value on summary reports and it drill down and recalculated the metrics
[4] Now when I click on the detail report, i get the detail report too ( in a new window). The issue starts from here.
[5] When I click on return link from the detail report page, it takes me back to the summary report page ( I land on the report which I got from step 3)
[6] I click on the return button under the summary report (rememeber I had drilled down) to see the report which i get in step 2
But, when I click on the return button under the summary report, it changes the prompt value too and applies the default value to the prompt and provides me the initial summary report with default promt value. The report which I got in step 2
Whereas what i want is when I click on the return link then I should get the report which I got in step 3.
Why does OBIEE applies the default value when I try to return back to my original summary report. Is this an OBIEE feature or I have some setting issue ?
Hope I have been able to explain the scenario!
Can anyone please reply on this. Any help would be much appreciated.

hey kart,
the issue is not about going back to the summary report ...the issue is when i click on the return link below the summary report after returning from the detail report ( which opens in a new window) then it takes me to the initial summary report ( which was loaded by default when the dashboard was loaded) with all the default prompt filters whereas my requirement is to go back to the summary report with the filters which users selected from the prompt ....

OBIEE Report Export from Dashboard to Excel doesn't suppress the columns as

OBIEE Report Export from Dashboard to Excel doesn't suppress the columns as expected even after the properties are set to Suppress in the report. In Dashboard it is suppressed Properly but in the excel export it is not suppressed and values for the columns are repeated.
Added the following to the instanceconfig :

But then could not restart services.The following error occured :

Only one Apply button for Dashboard Prompt in obiee

Hi experts,
We have a need wer we need to place prompts at specified places like one at right top then next 3 one below other. But only one Apply button.
Please let me know how to customize OBIEE 11.1.1.5 to achieve this.

Hi,
You are using OBIEE 11g ,so constrain the second report should be on the first prompt.I mean,In the second prompt properties we have an option like "based on the other prompt";where you need to give the first prompt column name.like wise third prompt also.
Then you will get only one apply button for 3 prompts.

How to remove the hide option in the obiee report at the dashboard

Hi,
I've created a report in obiee 11.1.1.6.0 and placed on the dashboard. When i do right click on the report i can list of option of user controls. Using the edit properties i have unchecked all the controls, even though i can see the hide column option in the dashboard report. User should not have access on report controls. How can i remove the hide column option.
Please guide me on this.

Obiee 11g Agent- Device (dashboard) is not set in (Userid) delivery profile

I am sending the mails succesfully But i am receiving below error....
Eventually succeeded, but encountered and resolved errors...
Number of skipped recipients: 0 of 1
AgentID: /shared/SSystem Administration/26APRAGENT
Device (dashboard) is not set in (Userid) delivery profile.
Please suggest me if i missed anything

Steps to configure device..
After login into analytics....click on ur username u used to login and select My Account..there u can Add email..
As for as i know u can do this only if u are sending ibots to few users...

Go to {OracleBIDir}:\oraclebi\web\msgdb\l_en\messages and Open the globalfiltermessages.xml file.
Find this text

Edit the 'Go' which is there between the TEXT tags.. for e.g.., replace the Go with Confirm

Non OBIEE Publisher reports and dashboards

I have developed several Publisher reports that source data from direct SQL queries against an Oracle DB (They're not star schema reports that are appropriate for OBIEE). The reports are parameterized and direct SQL requests are used to populate the lists of values for the parameters. My task is to make them available on a dashboard.
I have a report attached to a dashboard but I cannot figure out how to prompt for the parameters in the dashboard. Everything I've read about dashboard prompts and presentation variables assumes the report is sourced by OBIEE.
Is there a way to do this?

You have to create parameter in reports and as well create prompt in dashboard with same name.
With this link, the values will be passed into report parameter.
Use that parameter in report to filter

Calculate Revenue's Percentage per Year, Month or any filter that is applied to the Dashboard in DAX using Excel PowerView.

I am facing an odd issue here with a Dashboard Report in PowerView.
The task is to display, in a table, a percentage of total (revenue) by any filter that the client wants. For instance, if the client selects the year (to be short) 2013, it should display for each Customer the percentage of total as Participation field.
If the client select 2014, the data should change dinamically and the same if he selects both years.
The issue that I am facing is that it calculates correctly (showing total of 100%) for either 2013 or 2014, but when I select both it sums up and shows 200% total, altering all other lines with the same behavior.
So, basically what I need is to immitate a PARTITION BY analytic function, for instance, PARTITION BY YEAR and calculate the data over the total of the selected year only (if there are many years selected, the should be calculated over it, resulting in a
100% total).
Here is the formula that I am using in the column:
=[Valor NF]/CALCULATE(SUM([Valor NF]);ALLEXCEPT(Faturamento;Faturamento[Ano]))
Where [Valor NF] is the source column (invoyce total), Faturamento is my table (Revenue) and [Ano] is the year column, (I am calculating only by year to test)
I'd appreciate any suggestion.

OBIEE 10g answer or dashboard parameter default to all values.

I have an answer report with one parameter "branch", which has multiple values. I build a dashboard which includes the answer report. I want the dashboard to have default branch to all values. How can do that? I tried in answers to set an filter to all branches but in the filter how can I select all choices? I can choose each item of course but there are more than one hundred values (branches). I see there are value, sql expression, variable for the filter, I tried sql expression but don't know the syntax for all values.

you should not distracted by the above just try to grab the logic (ie your aim)

OBIEE 11g - create dashboard with Answers Analyse and BI Publisher Repport

I have one question . I create dashboard in OBIEE 11g .In my dashboard have one analyse and one bip report .I create one prompt filter , that changes the both .But I wanted when i click in analysis and change it, this change is reflected in the Report . Is this possible?

I am talking about object permissions in the catalog (eg. Folder permissions..). This is in addition to the permissions for the data source.
You need to be able to view the folders from where you can select the analysis as a data source in the BI publisher report.
Here is an excerpt from the Guide:
For a role to access an object in the catalog, the role must be granted Read permissions on both the object and the folder in which the object resides. Permissions can be granted at the folder level and applied to all the objects and subfolders it contains, or applied to individual objects.
To grant catalog permissions to a role:
Navigate to the Catalog.
Locate the folder or object on which you wish to grant permissions and click More. From the menu, select Permissions. Alternatively, you can select the folder and click Permissions in the Tasks region.

OBIEE reports from my dashboard .If yes can any one tell me what is the process.
Now i create report with the report_id and the report_name columns and give navigation option for the report_name column so when the user clicks on the report_name it should navigate to the shared folder where there report is kept(non-OBIEE reports) and is there any possibility that we can use the write back option in OBIEE and when the user click on the report_name his user_id and the session is written back to the data base .....

Yes you can use Write back to capture user ID and session.

Nested Dashboard navigating to wrong Path OBIEE 11.1.1.5

I have created nested dashboard with hep of below thread. But I am facing an issue. I am not sure whether I am wrong some where or its a Bug. Just to make sure we are using OBIEE 11.1.1.5.

Here is the issue:
I have created a Dashboard "1" and have pages A & B. I have embedded the Dashboard 2 in Dashboard 1- Page A. Dashboard 2 have pages 2a,2b...Etc. Now when I click on dashboard page B which is at Dashboard 1, it give me an error and says that "path not found". The problem is OBIEE is looking for Dashboard Page B in extension of Dashboard 2, Where as it should Ideally look for dashboard page B Under the path of Dashbaord "1". Further When I remove the Embedded content it work fines. Is it a Bug???

First create a dashboard prompt for start date, base it on the date dimension, date column and at the bottom of its list of options opt to set a presentation variable. Give the variable a name eg. pv_dt_start
Next create a simple request. Add the measure column for Inventory amount and edit the formula to make reference to the presentation variable. You will need to use the 'Filter using' syntax. It will be something like this:
Filter("Fact Table"."Inventory Measure" USING "Date Dimension"."Date Column" = '@{pv_dt_start}')
That's it in a nutshell. Repeat the procedure for your end date column.

Passing filters to hyperlinks in BI Publisher-Obiee 11g integrated report

Hi,
I've a report requirement to build a BIP report in integration with OBIEE.
In my dashboard, I've a dashboard prompt, obiee reports and a BIP report.
BIP report contains hyperlinks (created in template builder) which direct me to the obiee report pages.
Now, when u apply the prompts, BIP report filters the data accordingly and displays it in the same page. (OBIEE reports also gets filtered accordingly).
After this, when I click on the hyperlinks it takes me to the obiee page which is NOT filtered according to the prompt.
So I would like to know how do I use the filters in these links?
Can I please get some help on how to make this work? This is an urgent requirement!

Hi,
You can try these steps
On the BI Publisher 11.1.1.5, Go to Administration --> System Maintenance --> Server Configuration. Under the catalog heading,Test Connection. If the connection is successful, then click on the button Upload to Bi Presentation Catalog".
After the above step you should be able to see your folder under catalog.
