OBIEE download to Excel - Overlapping charts

When I downloaded a report (that consist of charts and pivot table) - to Excel, we encountered a issue the charts will be overlapping each other.
I would like to know if there's any workaround to fix it.
Thanks

sree,
change the download number in inistanceconfig file and check the updated value is available in EM after restarting the services(OPMN).if not enter the required value in download button w't have you been given in instanceconfig.xml.
Instanceconfig file path: <biee11g_install>\instances\instance1\config\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\instanceconfig.xml
change value in:
<DefaultRowsDisplayedInDownload>64000</DefaultRowsDisplayedInDownload>
check value after restart the service in em, same values is there or not: Maximum nuber of rows to download.

Please note i m using multiple charts in View Selector and user can select any chart of his choice and also re-arraging the graph option and report in compound layout.

  • Overlapping Views on Download to Excel

    Hi Guys,
I have a Pivot View and Chart view arranged horizontally in compound layout.
When i download in excel the chart view somehow gets overlapped with the pivot view, even though for other downloads powerpoint, MHTML it works fine.
Can you suggest how to get around this problem.
    Cheers
    Dhrubo

    Hi..
    don't know exactly why..
but try to format both views has same size..
so go for format View option of every view. ie.e. Pivot View and Chart view
And go to Additional format option, mention here sizes of width and height..
May solve your problem, but check and report back...

  • Download Excel with charts

    Hi my friends
My client has a jsp web app running on Websphere. Currently, it has a function downloading data into excel sheet
Now, they want to download excel with charts on it
I know it is not so hard to do in fat clients but this case, we have a jsp webapp, and i don't know how to deal with the excel charts, templates from a jsp server
What is the best way for me to archive that requirement.
    Thank you very much

POI can emit binary MS Office documents, but there are also text- or xml-based alternatives like csv or the newer XML-based document formats.
In our various projects we happily use all these approaches: POI/binary, csv, xml. Thanks,
at least there is someone here who has experience with POI. I may need help when implementing it. I have background in EJB and did lot of work with servlet, jsp too but the only front ends I worked with are Swing(and AWT) and (HTML, javascript) web page, so I have not had to learn new things for long :D
Now, with the new job, I have to deal with various projects and lot and lot of things I haven't done or even known
Now, we are in design phase and I 'd like to know that whether or not we can do it
So my question should be answered "yes, we can", right?
Here is what I plan to do
In the servlet, I should generate an excel sheet with data. Then generate the charts based on the data to attach to the excel file.
Finally, dump all file into the output stream

  • MB51, download to excel works different for online and background.

    Hi,
Have a question regarding excel download of MB51 in online mode against background.
If I run MB51 online, I can download it to an excel sheet that is easy to read and work with. Each column in the report in seperate column in excel.
If I run it in the background, try to download the spool to excel, I don't get the columns the same way as online report.
I’ve tried changing the layout, downloading to excel, downloading to text and then dropping to excel, etc.
Why won’t the download from a batch job work the same as online?
Any ideas or anyway to fix?

  • Download to Excel is hiding rows in a pivot view

    Hello ,
When downloading a report to excel from OBIEE Dashboard , certain rows are getting hidden . For instance , I have total 15 rows in my pivot view and when I download that report into excel format , the rows from 8-13 are not showing up . After 7th row I see 14th row .
But when I download the same report from Answers I can see all rows in the pivot view .
I tried looking at the formatting options of the pivot view and everything is normal . This is happening only with this particular report , other reports in dashboard download normally .
Please let me know if anybody has ideas .
    Thank you
    Karthik

  • Stop download to Excel from converting string of digits & dashes into date

    Hi,
How can I stop BI and Excel data from converting a column of string data that is comprised of numbers and dashes into a date format when it is downloaded into Excel?
I'd like to solve this problem in BI, so that any users can download the data from a BI report into Excel without having to change the Excel date column back into a string column.
    Thanks,
    Darcy

    Hi Again Darcy,
hmmm... That is very interesting. I just tried on OBIEE 10.1.3.2 ( a version before yours) on Windows XP with Office 2003 and an Oracle 11g DB backend and it did not have any problems pulling the value as text and not a DATE
Can you try something for me? In a new report, add any old dimensional (year, month name, etc) field twice into the report and change the second column formula to be following: '7001-2'
Try to export that report and see if that value comes through as text or a date. If it is something about the SQL server data set, then the above test should come through as text object in your excel download because we aren't pulling it from SQL Server, we'll creating it directly in OBIEE. If the above test does come through as a date, then it should mean that SQL Server isn't the issue. And if that is the case, I am starting to wonder if there's a setting in Office to can be enabled/disabled to avoid any data casting.
    Best regards,
    -Joe

  • Download to Excel 2007 (.xlsx) Help

Hi Everyone, I have an issue with the Download options - Download to Excel.
We have a few on-demand bulk reports that basically allows users to fire a detailed obiee report through GoURL.
Once the report is done, the Download Option - Download to Excel allow them to export data to an Excel Spread-sheet.
The issue is, OBIEE is exporting the data to Excel as Microsoft Office Excel 97-2003 Worksheet, (.xls) format. As we all know this has a max row count limitation (65000) per sheet.
I was wondering if there is any setting in OBIEE side that would force the Download to Microsoft Excel 2007, (.xlsx) format which has a max row count of 1 million.
If anyone can help me finding the configuration file or settings in OBIEE that would do the above requirement, is greately appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sai

       2. Choose Format > Cells from the menu to open the Format Cells dialog box.
With the Format Cells dialog box open:

       1. Click on the Number Tab (circled in red in the image above).
       2. Select General in the Category Window.
When finished, Click OK at the bottom of the Format Cells dialog box.
It will Show you 4 instead of 4:0000

  • Download to Excel after migration to 11g: Table lose formats

    Hi,
after migration to 11g we make some test.
Download to excel is not working correct. Calculated column lose the rounding, Table with green line lose the format of the borders.
    Is this a known issue?
    Regards,

Yes. Refer to ID 1380981.1 and ID 1451127.1
It depends on which version of OBIEE you're working with though and the Locale set for Excel.
    Please assign points if helpful/correct.

  • Download to excel titles off line

    Hi
I pressed the download to excel option from a dashboard in obiee version 10 1 3 and the result shows the report in column a2 to g11, for example, but the title that should be in a1 is in h1 instead. So it looks like its after the report instead of on top of the report.
Does anyone know how to resolve this please? I would like to see the header on top of the report in cell a1.

  • Download to Excel 2000 Functionality

    Hi,
I use the "Download to Excel 2000" functionality in OBIEE.
When i see the output in Excel, columns B and C of excel get merged and display the second column in my report
The point here is the first column in the report also has the same property and type as Column 1.but it is displayed properly in Cell A in the excel
Is this an known OBIEE issue?
Can anybody please help in this regard??
    Thanks in advance

I think you got it correctly.
I doubt this is Analytics problem - I think it's more of international codepages.
Even if you open the same spreadsheet in a different localized Excel version, you'll see similar results. And then if you save it and open it in original version, it'll be messed up.
