Object already locked under transport request by another user

Hi Experts,
While trying to generate transport request for my developments, the request is getting generated as a sub task under previously created request. The program has been earlier modified by another user and that request was not released. Can I create my own request number without creating it as a sub request? I cannot release or delete earlier requests.
Regards,
Sam

This restriction is there for a reason. Somebody has already applied changes to the object you are changing now, so there would be a logical conflict if you would be able to lock it again under a different request. Before you release or delete anything, make sure you understand all changes done and if they can be moved together to subsequent systems. Speak to the "other user" if unsure.

Is there a way to assign a development package to objects already in a transport requests?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
you can massively do that with SE03 / Change Object Directory Entries of Objects in a Request, select your request, position cursor on the first obj and menu edit / select block. Position cursor on the last and again select block.
hit object directory and change accordingly.
    hope this helps...

  • Change object from one transport request to another

    Hi,
I have a requirement wherein i need to change the object from one transport request to another. The thing is that i have saved
one in one transport request and when i am trying to transport it , it is not allowing me to transport as this transport request
contains some inactive object. I have also tried to delete that object from this transport request and put in another one
but when i tried to do that i was only allowing me to create sub task within the same request .
    Kindly suggest me
    Thanks
    Parag

    Hi,
you can either just delete the object from the object item list of the first transport request (just click away all warnings and hints). Then put it into a new request, lock it and transport it. You might ned to overtake the responsibility for the first request but with the appropriate authorization this should be no issue.
Other solution is using a transport of copies. This will tell you the object is locked in another request when you release it but still allow to transport it.
In all solutions you have to be sure that transporting the object without all other stuff in the request is possible as the objects are independent from each other. Otherwise you will not be able to import the request in the destination system.

  • Assigning the object to a Different transport request number.

    Hi all,
I have assigned a object to a different transport request  number and i now i want to assign it to a new one..can any one tell me some procedure to change it.
    Tnx,
    Joe.

    Hi Joe
In SE09 tcode click on display icon and enter the transport number in which the object was already assigned and click on display.
Now delete the object from the task of the main request number.
Now its ready to lock in some other transport request. Just goto the workbench object, try to save or activate, it will automatically ask for transport request afresh. You can now assign the request at this step.

  • Function module to lock mulitple objects in a single transport request.

    Hello,
I have a query regarding one of the requirments in my project. The requirment goes like this:
' On executing a transaciton lets say the user gets a list of data elements then the user selects say five data elemetns ( check boxes are there in the list display showing data elements ) and he sets that the documentations of each element as 'Self - Expalanatory' then the requirement is that all these data elements must get locked in a single transport request.
Is there a standarad API which takes object ID , Object type as input in form of table and checks if there are any existing transports in which the data element is locked if yes locks it under it, if not creates a new one and locks all the other objects in that request.
Atleast a FM which takes a table of object ids as input and locks them under a single transport request will also be helpful.
Some place where I can look for it.
    Warm Regards,
    Naveen M

If the objects are available in an existing request then they will be already locked.
If they are not available in request you can assign all of them in one request using
    SE03 transaction.
In SE03 transaction, select include objects in request and execute.
there click selected objects radiobutton, give your objects and execute.
save them in a request and they will be locked and you can transport them later.

step 2.There will be list of transport requests, go the respective request and point
the cursor on the object under that request and click on delete button.
step 3. Assign new request to the objects deleted.you can do this by activating all the objects once again.

  • How to move objects from one transport request to another transport request

    Hi Experts,
When I am changing the code I selected the wrong the transport request number. I want to move my objects into another transport request number in the same DEV and same client number. Could you please help to move these objects between the transport request numbers.
    Thanks,
    Chinna.

    Hi Chinna,
If you need to change a transport request number, you can use TCODE SE80
    Click on Repository Browser tab
Then Select the Object(s) you want to change the Transport Request number
Right Click > Other Functions > Write Transport Entry
After that you will need to specify other existing Transport Request number OR create a new transport request number (F8).
Hope this is what you are looking for.
    Thanks

  • Objects deleted under transport request by me-how can I know what were dele

I am using my collegue's user id and password.
I was creating data element and adding it to segment in we31 and then I did program change in se38.
Unfortunatley, I was created all the above under my colleague's existing transport request which contains so many objects.  After I realised, I deleted some to create all under a fresh request ( it seems some which are not related to my development were also deleted . so how can i find what ever were I deleted ? ) ...not sure what was I deleted...may be one program, one transaction code etc.
Kindly help me how to find out what were I deleted under that request  ?
YOUR HELP WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.

There is no easy way to find it out. Something you can do that you can find out the object list from TADIR table which is created by your friend and then go to E070 table and E071 table and check among those objects which are not attached with any transport request.
So thus you will get a smaller list of objects and your friends objects ( deleted by you) will be definitely in that smaller list. Now you can check with your friends so ensure which are the objects deleted by you.

  • How to move an object from one Transport Request to another TR

    Hi,
I have created an object under one TR instead of Required TR.
Now i need to move that object to apropriate TR.
    Please suggest me the way.
    Thanks,
    Sekhar.J

Go to SE10 select the Request and press Include Objects button( a box with a arrow above it) and select freely selected objects and add your object to the request. Before doing this you may be required to delete the object entry from the source request.

  • Moving object from one transport request to another

    Hi Gurus,
Am Having one query that i have been done some changes in the report and saved on one transport reuest number, but one function module which i have beeen used in the program saved in diffrent request and it contains some other objects, now i can i individually move the FM to other transport request number,Give me some ideas.

    Dinesh,
If the requests are not yet released then you can delete the object from the TR manually and then add it to the other TR manually or tag by doing a minor change. For ex
    TR 1 Objects list
    REPORT ZXYZ
    TR 2 Objects list
    REPORT ZABC
    FM ZZASDEF
1.If both the TRs are not released then remove the FM from the TR 2 manually and add it manually in TR 1,provided you know how to add the objects manually.
    or
2.If both the TRs are not released then remove the FM from the TR 2 manually.Go to the corresponding objects of the FM do a minor change, save, activate. Now it will ask for a TR,at this time choose OWN REQUEST and select TR1.
    Thanks,
    K.Kiran.

  • Transport overwrites original - although locked in transport request

    Dear all,
we have a very special system landscape and therefore a very special transport problem.
An include in the original system was overwritten by a transport although it was locked in a transport request.
    To explain the circumstances:
We develop and support several releases of a pre-configured SAP Template for BW 3.5 and ERP 2004. After launching a new release we build up new systems as support stream for this release.
For example BW development system for release 3.1 was TBD, after launching of release 3.1, we copied TBD to TBE. Thus, TBE is the support system for release 3.1 and TBD becomes the development system for the next release 4.0.
Normally, a correction in release 3.1 (TBE) has to be included in 4.0 (TBD), too. Thus, all support systems are included in one transport landscape.
It happened that a developer made a correction in an include in TBE and transported it to TBD. Unfortunately, another developer had enhanced this include in TBD and didn’t release the transport. So this changes were overwritten with the import from TBE although it was locked in a transport.
I investigated this case and found out, that it could be overwritten because TBD is the original system of this include and therefore it has no repair flag when it’s locked in a transport which protects it against overwriting.
We have to import the transport with the option “Overwrite originals” because in most cases a correction has to be imported in the original system.
Do you have any suggestions how we can avoid this happening?
Is there a possibility so set the repair flag in TBD manually?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Karin.

    Hi Max
I tried this already but it doesn't work.
    Following system message occurred:
    Cannot change task type
    Message no. TR857
    Diagnosis
You can only change the request type if this is permitted by the type of objects in the request.
The requirement is not met in this case.

  • One Transport request objects copy into new transport request

    Dear Experts,
I created a transport request under which i saved my objects. <b>Now i need to  copy  old request objects into new request  or  split that transport request into number of new transport requests.</b>  First of all It is possible or not , if it is possible please tell  me the solution how to do.
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Hello Krishna
    You can
    (1) add object lists of already released requests ("old" requests) to you current request (still changeable)
    (2) merge changeable transport requests together
    (3) split a changeable request into several requests
Whereas (1) and (2) are supported by standard functions of the SAP system (3) is a manual task involving the following steps:
    a.) Create a new request
b.) Copy required transport entries (e.g.  R3TR TABL ZMYTABLE) from one request to the new request
c.) Delete all copied transport entries from the object list of the "first" request
However, if you are not fully aware of the dependencies between different transport object entries the splitting of object lists may cause hassle when you import the splitted requests into the next SAP system.

  • How to find Object List from multiple Transport Requests

I have more than 300 transport request to review, going though all requests will take lots of time. Is there a way to find the list of objects from these requests so that I can go through objects only and by this way the list of objects will be certainly less than 300 for example.

Maybe you can use SE03 function "merge object lists" for this purpose. You can enter the 300 numbers and merge all objects e.g. into a transport of copies, that you can delete again after your exercise. Don't lock the objects inside this temporary request.
The benefit is that each object will only appear once (if not, choose "object list -> aggregate" in the request details), and you can navigate to the underlying objects, something which a simple SE16 for E071 does not offer.

  • Porblem while transfering objet from one transport request to another

    Hello all,
My goal was  to change objets from a  task TA(source) into a transport request RA to the task  TB(destintaion) into the transport request RB.
I used SE10 function on transport request RB(destination) and used function "Include objects" (Ctrl+F11) and then provided the source transport request (RA).
    Te result is :
    - source transport request RA remain unchanged
    - in destination transport request RB a line as been added :
comment : object list included : and the name of source request RA, it look like a reference
    Expected result was :
    - objet are no more in source request RA
    - the are assigned to destination request RB
What point did I miss ?
What can I do from this point to obtain expected result ?
    Thans for your help,
    Regards

I found an easy way to delete the reference line :
in SE01, display TR that contain reference line, double click to get the objects list, switch to change mode and use delete row function.
So at this point, my question is :
what is the appropriate way to change object from a transport task to another ?
    Thanks for help,
    Regards

All Datasources are shown in DataSource Replica but a few of them (not sure why) in DataSource (Active Version).
I wanted to know the if this is the right way to transport ???

Please help me in clearing my doubts.
