Transport overwrites original - although locked in transport request

Dear all,
we have a very special system landscape and therefore a very special transport problem.
An include in the original system was overwritten by a transport although it was locked in a transport request.
To explain the circumstances:
We develop and support several releases of a pre-configured SAP Template for BW 3.5 and ERP 2004. After launching a new release we build up new systems as support stream for this release.
For example BW development system for release 3.1 was TBD, after launching of release 3.1, we copied TBD to TBE. Thus, TBE is the support system for release 3.1 and TBD becomes the development system for the next release 4.0.
Normally, a correction in release 3.1 (TBE) has to be included in 4.0 (TBD), too. Thus, all support systems are included in one transport landscape.
It happened that a developer made a correction in an include in TBE and transported it to TBD. Unfortunately, another developer had enhanced this include in TBD and didnt release the transport. So this changes were overwritten with the import from TBE although it was locked in a transport.
I investigated this case and found out, that it could be overwritten because TBD is the original system of this include and therefore it has no repair flag when its locked in a transport which protects it against overwriting.
We have to import the transport with the option Overwrite originals because in most cases a correction has to be imported in the original system.
Do you have any suggestions how we can avoid this happening?
Is there a possibility so set the repair flag in TBD manually?

I tried this already but it doesn't work.
Following system message occurred:
Cannot change task type
Message no. TR857
Diagnosis
You can only change the request type if this is permitted by the type of objects in the request.
The requirement is not met in this case.

Hi
I am not sure of locking an individual request. But you can lock the import Queue itself if required.
To do this, go to STMS->click on import (truck)-> choos the system whose import queue needs to be locked-> Either double click on the system or click on display -> now u can see a lock symbol-> click on that.
It will lock the import queue which means that no one can import any transport request into that SYSTEM.
To unlock, follow the same procedure. Instead of lock symbol u will see UNLOCK symbol.
PS: PLease note that u need to lock the import queue onle WHEN u are sure that u dont need to import any requests

Is Lock Object transportable to LIVE from development server?

I had created a customized lock object on a customized table.
I can only managed to save it to $ENQ package. I tried ZSD1 but no use.
Now, since I am working in my development server, I had problem getting it across to my "LIVE" environment.
Can it be transportable?
I tried to change but no avail.

The lock object transportable is the one created with SE11, not the function modules and group generated.

Normally I don't have to fill it, but why now?
And what country I have to add there?

Have you checked the incompletion procedure of the country/area you're importing from? You can do that in transaction VI29.

Transporting BEx objects: objects not showing in request

I created a new request for Bex. but when i display the request in se10, i dont see the objects that I assigned to it. why is that

First you need to make sure you have written all your objects in one request and assigned to a transportable development class/package. If the request you have created is a local change request (you can see this in SE10), then delete this request or if it's a transportable request (when you click on the request, properties, you see a target client) then you have already assigned your objects to a transportable package, you can release this and then have it imported into your target system.
Alternatively you can delete your request(s), and then goto transport connector, accumulate the objects you need, when you scroll to the right you see a column by name "package", make sure you have the right package for all the objects (you can change the package name by right clicking and change the package) for all the objects and click on transport icon which will prompt you for a transport request or you can transport by using BEx transport (shiftctrl0). How to stop active transport process?
Hi.
Generally we transport only one TR at a time.
If we find that any transport is stuck for any reason.
How do we resolve this.
When we tried to delete the Long pending transport entry, it says, long text not found.
The problem is, we started one transport. It got stuck for more than 30 min.
and when we tried to delete the entry it was giving some error of long text not found.
We tried to start another. And it also got stuck.
How do we really handle such issues of transports.
Though, one could say, restart of server, is the only option because there is nothing much can be done when the transport is done, one at a time, as a practice.
Can sap not handle requests - one by one, even if the practice is to transport one TR at a time .
Why is the system getting confused and blocks further transport requests too.
Can anyone advise.

Object already locked under transport request by another user

Hi Experts,
While trying to generate transport request for my developments, the request is getting generated as a sub task under previously created request.The program has been earlier modified by another user and that request was not released.Can I create my own request number without creating it as a sub request? I cannot release or delete earlier requests.

This restriction is there for a reason. Somebody has already applied changes to the object you are changing now, so there would be a logical conflict if you would be able to lock it again under a different request. Before you release or delete anything, make sure you understand all changes done and if they can be moved together to subsequent systems. Speak to the "other user" if unsure.

Original System incorrect after transporting from BD1 to BQ1 systems

BI 7.0 SP 10
We have having problems with the 'original system' of our DataSources and certain transformations when transporting objects from BI dev system to the BI QA system.
DataTargets are coming through the Transports with the correct 'original system' name but for DataSources and Transformations that are used to map from the DataSource to the DataTargets are incorrect.
We have ensured in our 'Conversion of logical system name' has:
- ID1 -> IQ1
- CD1 -> CQ1
- BD1 -> BQ1 (we were once missing this but this has been added and transported retransported but still it doens't seem to work)
Could it be becauce we accidently activated the DataSources from IQ1 and replicated these in BQ1 and the Transports of the DataSources are not overwriting properly? I would have assumed that the Transports (with overwrite) option would overwrite the existing DataSources and replace it with those from the Dev system.
As for the Transformation, could that be due to the incorrect orginal system setting of the DataSource which in turn is causing issues to the Transformation attached?
Any ideas?

Transporting a business function: lock out users and suspend batch?

Hi gurus,
SAP advises in help.sap.com to lock out all users and suspend batch jobs before activating a business function in development. I did that in development, activated the business function, and saved it to a transport. Does the same recommendation to lock out users and suspend batch jobs hold true in the QA and Production systems when the transport is moved in? ... or is it ok to transport it during a time when there is user and batch activity going on?

You do have to lock out users and suspend batch, even using a transport. There is a pdf called
SAP Enhancement Packages Selecting and Activating Business Functions, In it, it says to lock out users and stop batch activity in all systems,

Transports... Lock Objects report?

Hi All,
Is there a report that will show me all objects that are locked in all transports? I know I can go into the individual transports and see them, but I have reason to believe that locked objects were removed from a transport that was created in Production and I have an upgrade getting ready to go-live. I need to make sure that all objects are unlocked before the upgrade begins.

Maybe a bit late but you can use SE16(or SM30) -> select table TADIR -> select SRCDEP field and add an 'R' -> Execute.
Might take a while because it's a large table but result is a list of all objects with "repair" flag set. Those should all be the locked objects too.

How to handle returned products originally issued out using Transport Order

Dear Experts
I transfer a batch containing 10 cartons from production plant NDE1 to sales plant NDE2 within same company code using a stock transport order.
Each carton is valued at 1dollar each, that is total value of transfered stock is $10
After two weeks, 3 cartons went bad and needs to be returned to production plant NDE1.
How do I capture this return process in SAP?
If it were an outright sales to a customer, a Return Order with reference to the invoive will be created, return delivery done,PGI done which brings the returned stock into inventory, and a credit memo posted against the original billing.
How do I handle my 3 cartons of returned stock since it was given out using a transport order?
What will the accounting entries be in the system? i mean which accounts will be credited and debited by the $3 value of th ereturned three cartons?

It depends how you handle the stock .Your accounting document generated in NDE2 in plant only.
The first step you transfered the material through sto from NDE1 to NDE2 ,here there is no impact on accounting entries as you are transffering the stock with in company code.
After you get return stock from customer NDE2 you can directly scrap or after inspecction of the stock if the stock is good then you can keep in Unresticted use for further sales.
I dont think so you need again one more sto to get return stock from NDE2 to NDE1 as it is damaged stock and un necessary paying transport costs.
If you scrap the material then the 3 qty of stock 3 doller price hit to scrap account.

Lock Screen transport controls erratic

On iOS 7, more often than not, the transport controls (both on the lock screen, and on the control center) do not work while the device is locked. This even extends to attempting to play/pause using a click on the in-line mic on the earbuds. It's incredibly frustrating. I don't want to have to unlock my device to pause it. Is anyone else having this problem? Any advice?

I just need somebody to tell me if this is happening on their ios7 device. even if you don't have the answer to how to fix it. I want to know if this is a bug or if it was intentional.

Locking of transports with IMG projects

I am not sure about locking the system for specific transports. You can do that if you are using any thired party tool / z program to perform imports other than STMS into quality system. With the help of STMS transaction code > over view > systems > select the system press F9 like this, we can make the system not to accept imports.... i mean we can lock the system.

ALE Transports overwritting local settings in SD account determination

When sending over ALE transports for SD account determination changes, it is deleting existing entries in the local system. For example we maintain entries for sales orgs that are maintained on the local system, but when we ALE entries for the other sales org, the local entries are deleted. Why?
This is also happening with international addresses that are maintained on the local box. When we ALE over the English address the international address that was created on the local box is deleted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Like MM-FI Integration is done solely by the Finance people, they will ask MM counter part only in some cases....FI-SD integration is done by SD people....you (finance) just need to supply the GL account information.....
Use VKOA to maintain FI-SD integration..

Business Objects SAP Transports overwrite the BW 7.3 Upgrade Crystal Object

Hello All,
We recently Upgraded our BW environment to 7.3 from 7.0 NW. And we also implemented BI 4.0 SP2, and as part of Integrating BI with BW put in 8 SAP transports which I have listed below. After the 7.3 upgrade to BW we were asked to put in SP5 and then the SPAU comes back with a conflict with one of the BI transports. After doing a compare it seems the CRYSTAL namespace is now part of 7.3 and these BI transports for SAP were created in 2005, so by putting these transports in (for BI to BW connectivity) we have overwrtten some 7.3 code?
My question is do we have a new set of transports for BI to BW 7.3 connectivity? I couldn't find any such in the installation guide or OSS notes for BI

Hi Paul, I opened a message with SAP under the BI area, and it has been routed to the BEX-BW team now. I would suggest open a message for the BEX-BW group since your Upgrade is getting stuck during Enhancement. Also talking to the BI folks on phone I got the impression that althoguht BW 7.3/7.0x have most of the objects in the standard SAP namespace they still want us to import the 8 or 9 transports as mentioned in the BI Guide. It feels that the SAP BW development and SAP BI development are not at the same page and causing these conflicts. Sorry couldn't be of much help to you.
