Objects modified by a patch

Hi,
Please let me know how to find the objects modified by a patch.
In OAM I'm able to see only the files modified by a patch.
I need modified objects.
Thanks
\RK

Hi,
I do not think there is a direct way to determine this. "Patch Impact Analysis" report would provide some useful information (like number of files in the patch, number and type of files the patch will install, products that will have updated files, files that will be introduced by the patch, ..etc).
Note: 457566.1 - Oracle Applications Patching FAQ for Release 11i -- Can I determine ahead of time how a patch will affect my system?

You may query DBA_OBJECTS and check the TIMESTAMP of the objects based on the date/time when the patch was applied.

Hussein

  • Report to find the objects modified during a period in time

    Hi all,
I need to find out the number of SAp objects that have been modified during a period in time. Is there any report in SAP I can use?
    Thanks
    Diana

I don't know a standard report (SE95 does not seem to include selection by date), maybe you can tweak SE16 display of table SMODILOG for your purpose.

  • SAP Standard objects:modified ones.

    Dear all,
my client wants to have a report where in he can see all the modified SAP standard object so that he can analyse his effort for the next upgrade.
there is already a report existing which does this but not sure if the logic is correct.
It is getitng all the entires from table "ADIRACCESS" and displaying.
I understand i can look at the txn SPAU and SPDD but ofr reporting purpose i waould need to get the tables/ FM which gives me the lilst of objects
any pointers to that would be appreciated.
    thanks in advance !

    Hi Dhruv,
As mentioned by Srinivas the ADIRACCESS table is where all access keys used within your system for modification to SAP standard code are stored and hence should be a good indication of what all / how many modifications to standard have taken place.
As to your doubts, append structures do not require access keys, since creating append strcutures is an enhancement to standard DDIC objects and only needs a transport since in actual, it only is creating a Z table structure.
Also, user exits and BAdis certainly dont require access keys. Again they are enhancement and not modifications and when upgrading they will NOT be overwritten. As SAP mentions, during upgrades all enhancements are retained within the system however modifications if not handled are overwritten.
Hope this helps in a way.
    Best regards,
    Aditya

  • Can we check the Objects modifiable " option for standard objects

    Dear Friends
In IR , we have imported SRM SERVER->SRM SERVER5.5
Then we  have checked the option<u><b> "Objects are modifiable"</b></u> then we imported the IDOC from R/3 system under SRM SERVER 5.5 swcv.
Then created the mapping. It is working fime.
how ever i am not sure whether it is right process. Can we check the "Objects are modifiable" for standard compoents delivered by SAP????
    Regards
    chandra

    Hi Jai,
<i> >>>Can we check the "Objects are modifiable" for standard compoents delivered by SAP????
No. As best practise you are not supposed to do so.</i>
In order to implement any changes in the mapping we can do it rite.
Because recently i have applied one SAP note to my SRM swcv and one of the MM object was changed according to the requirements.
    Thanks,
    Prasanthi.

  • Calendar object with Microsoft DST patch

We have been testing changes to the 2007 daylight saving time. We applied Microsoft DST patch to Windows 2000 with Java 1.3.1_18 and Windows 2003 with Java 5.0 Update 8. On both systems the calendar object return time zone of GMT although the system clock is set for Eastern.
If the Microsoft patch is removed, the correct time zone is again returned. Has anyone else seen this behavior when Windows OS patch is applied?

    > Does anyone know exactly what the problem is (what has Microsoft changed) ?
    a) Go to <http://www.ciac.org/ciac/bulletins/p-006.shtml> and search for the "CAN-" links. Each component has a one paragraph description.
    b) According to <http://patch-info.de/IE/2004/10/12/20-35-16.html> it contains:
    mshtml.dll (6,0,2800,1476 - 29,09,2004)
    urlmon.dll (6,0,2800,1474 - 23,09,2004)
    shdocvw.dll (6,0,2800,1584 - 27,08,2004)
    wininet.dll (6,0,2800,1468 - 23,08,2004)
    browseui.dll (6,0,2800,1584 - 22,08,2004)
    shlwapi.dll (6,0,2800,1584 - 20,08,2004)
    c) Some of the things that could be breaking are DOM references and DHTML, which are advanced features that not every application uses.
    From <http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-038.mspx>:
"Caveats: Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 834707 <http://support.microsoft.com/?id=834707> documents the currently known issues that customers may experience when they install this security update. The article also documents recommended solutions for these issues."
Among other issues, that page says [<b>emphasis</b> added]:
    - After you install the MS04-038 security updates for Internet Explorer, some dynamic HTML (DHTML) <b>drag-and-drop operations are blocked</b> by Internet Explorer.
    - Security update 834707 includes a change to the way that Internet Explorer handles function pointers. This change in functionality occurs when an event handler points directly to a Document Object Model (DOM) function [...] Change in Internet Explorer function pointer behavior <b>causes code to not be executed</b> when an event handler is set to directly reference a DOM function after installing MS04-038 security updates.
BTW, Note 785308 has been updated with a workaround.

  • Objects modified on Upgrade

    Hi people,
I have the doubt, on the upgrade of R3 4.7 to ECC 6.0. All the developments made on the standard of sap, How Can I adjust in the new version? I read the upgrade guide, but this point it´s confused for me.
    More thanks.

    Hi Ruben,
You need to use transactions SPAU/SPDD for this. Your ABAP guys would be able to help you with that as well. Please check:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/60/d6ba7bceda11d1953a0000e82de14a/content.htm

  • How to find out the modified or customized objects in oracle apps

    Hi all,
I have a proble, there is no documentation available from the client and I have to find out what all oracle seeded objects have been modified during customizations (in reports, forms, work flow, jsp, tables etc..)
Are there any tools or any particular way where we can figure them out.
Any suggestions will help me a lot.
And this is very imp and urgent.
Please help me if you have some thing..
    Thank you all,
    Nagender

    For JSP's
Diff between JSP in $HTML_TOP and corresponding PROD_TOP/html (like $IBE_TOP/html for ISupport Files)
Any file that you see differing between $HTML_TOP and $PROD_TOP/html are Customized.
    Database Objects:
You can look at the CREATE TIME. All seeded objects would have the same CREATE TIME. Any modofication would overwrite the CREATE TIME.
Note that one pitfall here is that of Objects created by a Patch applied after the intial Install.
I have no clue how you would identify the Workflows and Reports.

  • SPAM in test mode does not show modified objects

I am running SPAM in test mode, and I need to see the objects that have been modified with the modification assistant that are in the patch... how can I see that?
when I run SPAM in test mode, during the step step RUN_SPAU_? I can see only the number of the objects modified, not the actual object names.

Run SPAU seperately, are there too many objects that have been modified ?

  • How to get the list of object that are going to modify during the upgrade?

We are upgrading sap 4.OB to ECC 6, is there any place we will get the list of standard object which are going to modify in service market place? Please let me know the link to get those details.
    Thanks

Usually you get this list when upgrading first system (sandbox type) via SPDD and SPAU. (useful for objects modified in your system - SNOTE or mofications) - The whole list of modified objects will be huge,  many (most) objects were modified (created, even deleted) those last 13 years.
There are also tools that may help you like [panaya|http://www.panayainc.com/] (but i'm not sure for a 4.0B, it worked fine for a 46c) - look for tools/vendor at [Partner Information Center: Search|http://www.sap.com/partners/directories/SearchSolution.epx]

  • Business objects Security patch

I need to know if business objects has any sperate patches as security patch?  how can I get notified if any of the patches have include any security fixes?

It is much the same as most web applications.
Permissions, inheritance and the distinction between inheritance at different levels (universe, planet, country, city, etc..
Please read the documentation on the BO security model and integration scenarios on your side and then ask more specific questions if you get stuck somewhere.
These are "Expert Forums" not "Search Machines"...

  • Objects recently modified (Portlet)

    Dear all,
I was wondering if there is a portlet for Portal that lists (all) the recent objects modified; I mean public items published by any content manager. The default functionality that is close to this only allows to display a list of recent objects modified by you and not by all contributors.
    Best Regards,
    PM

    hi,
one solution is to use the custom search portlet and run it in auto-query mode. you can for example configure it to automatically show all items modified in the last 7 days in page group x.
    hope this helps.
    regards,
    christian
