OCFS Linux Distribution confusion and planned production release

Hello, as far as I know are Oracle10g and Oracle9iR2.
supportet for SLES9. There is no support for RHEL4.
But up to now OCFS2 is developed for RHEL4.
Now I've 2 questions:
1. Will OCFS2 supported for SLES9?
2. When it's planned to release the production version of OCFS2?

You are asking realy hard questions.
And I don't think there is a person who is able to give you specific answer. (maybe Mark Fasheh or 2.6 kernel maintener)
Anyway there was OCFS2 added to linux kernel (2.6.12-rc5-mm1) but it is not still stable version but it seems good and I hope it will become stable and included in stable linux kernel soon.
When the OCFS2 wil be included in stable version of kernel then all new distributions will be support it. And also Companies (such as Redhat and Suse) could backport the feature for old kernels and for old distributions.
Till (I sugest) use OCFS(1) on production systems.

  • Consumption with CDP by using planning product

    Hi all
I use product A, with planning product B mainteined in MRP3 and transfered to APO as hiearchy PLANNING PRODUCT. The consumption works in APO if I do not use descriptive characteristics (material, plant, customer).
If I use descriptive characteristics consumption do not work. I mean, problem is here:
Each consumption group has mandatory characteristics 9AMATNR and 9ALOCNO. The characteristics 9AMATNR for real product and planning product is not the same and teherefore the consumption do not work.
Do you have any experience or idea? Is it possible ti use CDP forecasting consumption with planning material scenario?
    Thanks
    Pavel

    Hi Stefanos,
What you are doing is absolutely right.. However, I want to ask a few question..
    1. Are the characterestic values included in the filter ? ie. If you want to change for Country: UK, is UK present in filter?
    2. Are there any other characteristics that you have not included in the function and are getting changed by chance ? Like you might need to include 0fiscyer in To Change if you are assigning 0Fiscper.
    3. Write a small FOX function with hardcoded values to check if the system is accepting the values or not..
It should work.. Please write back in case you need more help..

  • Costing affect with MRP at planned order level and after production order

    Dear all,
How the costing affect with MRP at planned order level and after production order completion?
Edited by: Maulik on Jun 24, 2009 1:59 PM

    Dear Maulik,
check Mr. Vinod's inputs abt costing
    1. Maintain following master data:
MM01 Material Master with Costing and accounting view. Make sure all the cost Std, Moving avg etc is maintained along with valuation class in Accounting view 1. In costing tab pls make sure "with qty structure" and "Material Origin" are ticked.
CS01 BOM with components marked with costing relevance in Status/Long Text Tab. Also check all the qty are correct.
CR01 Work Center in Basic data tab maintain standard value key sau SAP1 and in costing tab maintain the workcenter, activity type and formulas (Usually standard formulas like for Machine Hours SAP006, Labour SAP007, Setup Activity SAP005 is used).
KL01 Cretae activity types, in basic data tab maintain ATyp Category AS "1" and cost element (as provided by your FI Guy).
KP26 Activity pricing, here with the combination of Activity type and the cost center you assign price to the activity.
    2. SPRO Activity
Maintain Costing sheet IMGControllingProd cost controllingProd Cost PlanningBasic settingoverheadsdefine costing sheet.
OKKN Define costing variant, you define costing type (In the costing type, you define the purpose of a material cost estimate by specifying, for example, which field in the material master record the costing results can be transferred to like std price, moving avg etc), Valuation Variant (defines how the prices are prioratized), date control and transfer structure.
    3. Costing Process Flow:
    1. CK11N CREATE COSTING RUN
    2. CK24 CREATE PRICE UPDATE (You Mark and release the prce to be updated)
    4. COSTING VARIANT WRT PP
    1. OPL1 DEFINE COSTING VARIANT WRT PP
    2. OKK4 or OPN2 DEFINE VALUATION VARIANT
    3. OKK1 or OPM1 DEFINE COSTING TYPE
    4. OPL8 ORDERTYPE DEPENDENT PARAMETER (assign the above creted costing type for both planned and actual)
Hope this will throw some light on product costing.
    Regards

  • Production Release Install Issues on Linux

I just upgraded from the beta to the production relase on Linux (Suse 10.0).
The following issues were easy enough to bypass, but should be fixed in the next release nevertheless, to allow a Linux installation as smooth as under Windows:
    * calculation of required swap space: when I installed the beta in November I had 512MB RAM and 1GB swap - no problem at all. Meanwhile I upgraded to 1GB RAM, 1GB swap. The production release complained during install. Why would I need more swap to install Oracle after upgrading RAM? Should the script not instead check total memory (RAM+swap) and be happy?
    * second, related issue: the installer complained that I had only 850MB swap space, it supposedly required 1GB. Fact: I have 1GB swap space, but about 150MB were used at that time. Instead of checking the total swap space, the installer checked the free swap space. Solution was easy enough: swapoff -a ; swapon -a. All swap space free, installer runs...
    * during configuration (/etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure) I selected not to automatically start Oracle at boot time. This set the ORACLE_DBENABLED variable (in /etc/sysconfig/oracle-xe) to false. Unfortunately this variable is used in /etc/init.d/oracle-xe to check before 'start' and 'stop'. As a result it was not possible to manually start and stop the database. Solution: either don't check the variable before start and stop or - as I did: set ORACLE_DBENABLED to true and prevent start at boot time by editing the runlevels (as should be).
Other than that: great product and great timing! Keep up the good work! Thanks a lot!
    Cheers,
    Peter

As an addendum to the above, I noticed that sqlplus failed wouldn't run - it was failing with messages such as:
    ERROR:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27121: unable to determine size of shared memory segment
    Linux Error: 13: Permission denied
    and:
    ERROR:
ORA-27140: attach to post/wait facility failed
Through scanning countless posts on this forum the solution turned out to be:
    chmod u+s `which oracle`
    chmod g+s `which oracle`
Speaking as someone who is in Oracle's target audience for this product (small company, currently using open source DBs), I have to say that my experience of installing Oracle was pretty painful and was far more hassle than PostgreSQL, MySQL or even (heaven forbid) SQLServer. Come on Oracle, you can do better than this!

  • Production order and planned order qty should not consider in MRP

    Dear All,
i do not want to consider the previous month production order qty and plenned order qty (Nothing but WIP qty) in the current momth MRP, but the stock has to consider in MRP.
    Example,
    Before MRP,
    material : XYZ
    Stock : 1000
    Prod Qty : 500 for 02.04.2008
    PIR Qty : 2000 for 02.05.2008
After MRP, the requirement should be as below said,
    material : XYZ
    Stock : 1000
    Prod Qty : 500 for 02.04.2008
    PIR Qty : 2000 for 02.05.2008
    Pld OrdQty : 1000 for 02.05.2008
For the above requirement ,i have done settings in the availabilty check like , for include planned order and include production order are "DO NOT TAKE IN ACCOUNT".
Even then also the planned order qty is generating for the "500" only.
please give the solution for the above said requirement.
    thanx in advance
    Regards
    Srinivas

    hi
MRP will always consider the prod order qty while doing nert req calculation. One thing u can do is TECo the prod orders and un MRP then it wont consider prod order qty.
The Availability check will check whether the components r avalaible or not based on ur scope of check
    Reward points if useful

  • Linux distributions supported on Oracle 8i and 9i

    Hello,
Can you please provide me with the web page which compiles certification information on Linux distributions for 8i and 9i, I cannot seem to find a page which does such a compilation.
Also, this is to the responder - do you work for Oracle?
    Thanks in advance.

    Yeah I saw that but...
Which version of Oracle can I install?
I have RH 9.0 basic version ($30.00 from best buy).
I am interested in learning Oracle with Linux for my own personal use at home.
    ie
I used to have Oracle Personal 8i on my Windows 98 SE machine. Now I see Oracle Server for RH AS 9.0 (or something) and no Oracle 9i or 8i for RH 9.0 most basic edition.
Sorry... Linux begginner and I forgot my version of RH 9.0.
I am a C++ developer on Windows and use the OCI 7 and 8 wih MSVC 6.0 (at work). I would like to use same OCI wrapper with C at home on Linux.
    Thanks

  • Mass update for production and planned order MRP controller

    Hi Gurus,
It's anyway possible to mass update MRP controller for Production orders and  Planned orders. If any please provide me step by step process.
    Thanks,
    B.Deethya.

I feel You have changed the MRP controller in Material master and want to incorporate same in production order & plan order.
For Planned order Run MRP with delete and recreate mode, system will create a new plan order with MRP controller in Material master
For production order, Mass change is not possible, create a simple BDC or LSMW, And change the MRP controller

  • WebUtil production release and support

    Hi
I've been trying to find a release date for forms 10g patch 1 which is supposed to contain a production release of WebUtil. I have found many different dates, all of which have passed already and yet there seems to be no product available. Can someone let me know when this will now be available?
Also, will the production WebUtil be supported for use with forms 9i/9iAS R2? Is it a new version of the existing package that can be plugged in similarly or is it integrated into the 10g release? If it can't be used with 9i then does it matter - Is there much changed between the two versions?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Patrick,
WebUtil will be released sometime between patch 1 and patch 2 and accessible for download here on OTN. WebUtil will be certified and supported with Oracle Developer Suite 10g and Oracle Application Server 10g. In successiv patch sets WebUtil will be bundled with the Oracle Developer Suite.
WebUtil production will contain bug fixes that we collected from pre-releasing it for 9i. If you are currently using WebUtil, then upgrading to Forms 10g WebUtil is just a matter of configuration (and even this hasn't changed)
Unfortunately I don't have a release date, but I am sure Grant will pick up this posting and provide more information if he has.

  • Production and Service order Release Log updation

    Hi,
Can any one help me how to update the release log of Production and service order.
I have a requirements to add new custom logs to the production and service order release process.
    sudha

As far as I know the standard behaviour is that the PR is created upon order save and not upon the status of the order or items changing to released.
To get around this you can set user status and use status management to prevent the PR getting created or use the BADI CRM_SRV_FIND_LOG_SC to supress creation of the PR.
    Hope this helps.

  • Do you Guys have any plan to release Photoshop for linux platform?

    Hi Guys,
Do you have existing any photoshop or any plan to release Photoshop for linux platform?
    Thanks,
    Shailesh

This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.
    Over at
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/
there is at least one long-running thread on the issue.
But if you should be unwilling to accept arguments that do not support your point of view it may not be worth the trouble to locate it.

  • Product Release Date being default set to 01-Jan-2000 when exporting and importing product file

    Hi there,
Just putting this out there to see if anyone else has experienced this problem.
    We've just redeveloped an art site that relies on the product release date to order work, newest first, by the date they added it  {tag_productlist,,,20,releasedate,true,true}
However, we've hit an issue whereby the 'release date' field is set to 01-Jan-2000 when we export and then import the product file, thus chnaging the ordering. The date can't be set on the import file (unlike web apps) and we haven't changed thousands of products manually. BC support have been stumped, suggesting it's our Mac's system date, but this is set automatically and accurate...and we don't want to change the release date anyway, that should just be the date the product was originally released.
Any thoughts or help would be greatfully received as this was a key part of the site design/development. This is the site http://hanguppictures.com
    Cheers
    Paul

Ran into the same issue. I was using the release date to flag latest products, regardless of ordering. Unfortunately running a product import then destroyed all that work.
Found this thread with a staff reponse regarding it not being possible to set release dates using import, but it doesn't explain why release dates get reset.

  • [SOLVED]can i install another linux distribution and keep arch?

    i have seperate boot,root,home partitions
is it possible to install another distribution and to use the boot and home directory i allready have?
and do i have to create another swap partition?

Anikom15 wrote:You can share swap, /boot, and /home. You could even get away with sharing other things like /etc but that's a little risky (and pointless). All Linux distributions have the same filesystem layout; you just have to make sure there are no file conflicts, and distributions have their system files layed out differently. You can use different kernels with one distribution with no separate filesystems as well, if all you want is a different kernel.
Sharing swap is only okay if you're not using hibernation (to swap) though.

  • Distribution of raw materials price diff. between FG and CO-products

    Dear All,
We do have production of Finished goods. Production scenario is process industry.
So process orders are defined as CO objects.
Goods receipt and co products receipt occurs as well.
We want to valuate CO-products by actual costs.
We have defined cost apportionment to CO-products in mm02 at the Costing with equivalence numbers.
The issue is that this structure mentioned above works only for distribution costs allocated from process order.
But raw materials, issued for process order, price difference are not distributed to CO-product. They distribute only to Finished good.
Could anyone advise us please, what badi or exit could be used for distribution raw materials price differences to CO-products?
    With best regards,
    Kamila.

    Hi
Only way is , after changing the raw material price, do the Costing Run for all dependent FG & SFG. and go to the below reports for your expected result.
S_ALR_87099930 - Results of Costing Run
S_ALR_87099932 - Variances Between Costing Runs
