Odd touchscreen lack of response within one app

I am aware from the forum that a number of users have had touchscreen problems but as far as I can see the touchscreen on my new Xperia Z3 Compact is working fine....most of the time.
However ... with one app that has worked well on my earlier Motorola Razr Maxx (Android 4.1.2) I am getting odd results that I do not understand.  In the absence of any current response from the app developers I wonder if anyone here has any ideas what the problem may or how to fix it.

It is a paid app giving a cloud (those white things in the sky not the Internet related one) identification guide with some great images.  The main list screen has a vertical list of cloud names that can be scrolled down and then selected with a tap on the relevant line.  Then a description of the cloud type with images should pop up.  That worked fine on the Motorola but on the Xperia no clouds listed below about half way down the screen will bring up any details if tapped.  So clouds shown in the list above half way will bring up the details (possibly slowly) but those in the lower half do not.  I can scroll the cloud list up and down so with most I can bring them into the upper half of the screen and then access the details but the last 4/5 on the list can never be accessed in this way.  I know the relevant details are there as it is possible to get to them in other ways but this is long winded and not satisfactory.
I have closed and reopened the app and I have uninstalled and reinstalled it but still the problem continues.
I have run the on phone diagnostics and the screen checks out fine.  I have tried a screen testing app and the touch screen seems to work over all its area for both swipe and touch.  The phone's keyboard which appears in the lower half of the screen seems fine.  So as far as I can see there is no obvious hardware fault and similarly no obvious software fault with the phone but I cannot work out why the app should work on one phone and not on another.
I normally have a case on the phone but the problem continues even if I remove it.  There is a screen protector fitted which is the one supplied loose in the box (not the one that is on the phone when it arrives and has a pull tag at top right) however the tests referred to above have all been conducted after the screen protector was fitted so that should not be an issue.
I know this is an odd one and so will be grateful for any suggestions.

    Using Notepad for creating a new copy of an OSD is OK, but requires some thinking:
    Inside the new OSD, the NAME= and/or VERSION= attribute should be modified: you shall not have two applications with the same Name+Version combination
    the name of the new OSD file should be added to .sprj file (similar to the original OSD file name) as this motivates the Sequencer to load both OSDs when opening the package
    inside the OSD in the <MGMT_SHORTCUTLIST> section the name of the shortcut file (.lnk) shopuld be adjusted
    The new OSD won't get added to the MSI (if you are using that) unless you open & save the package in the Sequencer.

    Application Virtualization Explorer to add/modify shortcuts (you'd need the Professional Edition for App-V 4)

    If you already have the package with just one OSD: select the 'Modify an existing packge' in the Sequencer, then use the 'Add
    Application' wizard. Quite at the end this will bring you to the 'shortcuts and file type associations' step. In there you can create a new shortcut (resulting in a new OSD).     You can only use apps that are compatible with your dvice and ios version.
    The secons gen ipod touch can only go to 4.2.1.
    If you are running 4.2.1 then you can only use apps that require 4.2.1 or lower.

  • Two response objects within one servlet...

    Heya guys, quite new to java and got stuck for the whole day on this.
    I need to combine two responses inside one servlet. One response retrieves picture from the database and it works fine. Another one retrieves text from database also works fine on its own. Second i try to use both end up with hundreds of exceptions.
    Any idea what to do, not how...but what???

    just want to state for the record that what seems like our lack of
    response or interest in this forum is not intentional.
    The lack of timely responses is due mainly to the fact that
    we have *lots* of things going on behind the scenes here. Some of
    us read the forums in real-time, and chime in any spare moment we
    have, and it's also frustrating for us to see folks struggling.
    Some posts are easy to answer within a couple of minutes, and some
    take hours to help folks figure out what's going on in their
    pages/apps/site.
    You bring up some very valid points, and I've forwarded them
    on to the appropriate folks internally.
    That said, it seems like most of your questions that have
    gone unanswered revolve around validation widgets. I'll try to
    answer your questions, and perhaps poke other who know more if I

    I contacted customer service via email about purchasing a new MacBook Pro for my daughter with her College Money. When we purchased it we told the Best Buy employee about our difficulty getting her approved on the 3rd party website that checks her enrollment. We purchased the computer one day prior to going on vacation. We never could get her cleared and were going to send all of the numerous items to the 3rd part group but seeing that no one would do anything after 15 days it was pointless. My complaint is that now we cannot take advantage of the student discount and now the computer has also droped another $45 in price which is double frustrating. This was not my money but my daughters college money. If this was not my daughters money I probably would not even care but it was her hard earned money. I was very proud that she saved and was able to purchase this item and also pay for her own tuition. So now we are looking at a computer that is less than a month old and now could have purchased for $145 less if I went directy to Apple.If you look at my account I had previously been an Elite member for years and purchased all electronics and appliances from your store. Well now that I have eveything I need at my home I did not purchase as frequently so my Elite status dropped to a regular membership.Being in Sales and Marketing for the last 20+ years I know how important it is about communicationg with customers with opportunities with your company. This is why I wrote in the first place. The answer I received was a canned answer that did not give me a resolution or closure to my situation. I replied to the email and never received a response. I had been planning on purchasing another MacBook and IMacsince they are both over 5 years old and both previously purchased theough Best Buy as wereall of my appliances at my home along with Denon and Def Tech speakers.Not once was I given any reason to continue shopping with your company. Even a small gesture may have kept me shopping with you but nothing was offered. Through the years I have seen what a little customer service or lack of can do to a company.   • Developer Application Provisioning Issues -- Only one app at a time?

    _The upshot:_
    You can have one and only one developer provision and developer application on the iPhone at a time otherwise you get installation errors (i.e. 0xe8000001).
    _To fix:_
    Use Xcode Organizer to ensure that you have one and only one application and provision installed to the iPhone that uses your developer certificate.
    _To any Apple people:_
    If I am wrong about any of this, please let me know. I have wasted 3-4 days over the past 2 weeks due to these issues, and any explanation would be well received! Having one and only one application and provision installed to the iPhone fixed the 0xe8000001 issues for me.
    _Long winded explanation:_
    It turns out that I am working on multiple iPhone applications at the same time.
    Each application has a different AppID (as registered on the iPhone Developer Portal).
    I have spent quite a bit of time having major issues with Developer Provisioning and application installation from within Xcode and Xcode Organizer, which led me to not be able to debug my application on a live iPhone.
    I finally discovered my problem: I can only have one app and one provision on the iPhone that uses the same developer certificate.
    When swapping between Xcode projects if I remove all provisions and applications using Organizer and re-add only the provision of the application I am working on, then the install errors at build time go away.
    Samples of install errors that manifest themselves using the 0xe8000001 code:

    These errors seem to be occurring because of an install time check against the installed provision files to verify the app, and it seems the provision from an already installed application is being used.
    This is probably occurring because the main developer certificate has to be the same between the 2 applications. As the scan through the provisions is occurring, the certificate of the new app matches the certificate from the already installed app, and the provision check fails due to different App IDs.
    There is one and only one developer certificate allowed per iPhone Standard program.
    I hope that this helps some other people out there with their development provisioning and debug / installation errors.

    This is why you should create a wildcard developer certificate (com.youcompany.*)...follow the directions in the program portal. Then you can then install all your apps on your phone.

    UNDERSTOOD FACTS:

    You can sync iTunes across up to5 different computers using your Apple ID: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420, however there does not seem to be alimit of how many Apple devices youcan sync within using a single iTunes account (Apple ID). *NOTE: beware automaticsynchronization of new apps..
    4)  iTunesin the Cloud is a different animal altogether! This should allow sharing of all iTunes content across all “your” devices, aslong as it was purchased thru iTunes (If not, you need to shell out an additional $25/yr for iTunes Match)
    SCENARIO:  I got a new iPhone, and am giving theold iPhone to my spouse. ALL iTunes content has been managed and purchased using oneApple ID that matches one iCloud ID. Ideally, just like anyother family using multiple Apple products and usingiCloud; we would like to SHARE songs & Apps, but NOT share calendars, mail etc...(sharing contacts would be nice).

    I have the computer authorized to use the Apple ID content (been using iTunes since 2007).
    My issue is I cannot create sperate iCloud IDs for each device. I get prompted/directed to create a new Apple ID, which is what I want to avoid. I want to use one "FAMILY" AppleID as it is, and use iCloud IDs for each device.
    My logic is: ALL my purchases are tied to an AppleID, and I just want to share on devices that leave the house, like another iPhone.
    So- what to do? How to get a seperate iCloud ID without a seperate AppleID? I have an iPhone &amp; iPad, husband has an iTouch &amp; iPhone. How to share selectively? All devices were originally setup using one Cloud ID and one Apple ID. Now I need new IDs to represent the new user on the iTouch &amp; iPhone.

A case in point - I downloaded the CNN app. It is a great app, but I couldn't figure out how to play videos. Videos just wouldn't play.  It would be so easy to have a "help" screen that would tell you how to do this. I am not singling out CNN.  Many of the apps posted on the ovi store suffer from the same drawbacks.  It's just that this was the latest one I downloaded.
    Well, I'm not stupid (at least I don't think so).  I like to try to figure things out if I can. I discovered that the videos will play if I change the settings within the app. I have the phone settings to use wi-fi only, but CNN defaults to my cell phone provider data to play videos.
    What other unknown surprises lurk in some of these apps?
    I think Nokia should require any app posted on the ovi store site have a "help" screen or some kind of a "how to" screen.

    We are running WLI20 and are using Sybase(11.5) as a respository database. We are
    having the following problem with eventnodes.
    1: Within one template we are using the action 'post external xml' to post three
    unique messages to the destination JMSQueue "com.bea.wlpi.EventQueue".
    2: In the same template we have added three eventnodes which are listening for
    the unique messages. The number of unique messages is the same as the number of
    eventnodes.
    We get the following result:
    All messages are sent to the JMSQueue(this is verified).
    Often one or more of the eventnodes does not receive the xml-message. It is no
    obvious pattern in which eventnode that doesn't receive the message. Once in a
    while all three eventnodes get their messages.
    Attached is a test template that will raise the problem.
    Have you got any ideas of how to solve this problem?

    I am also getting exactly the same behaviour. In one template I have 4
    tasks. each task posts intenral xml event and waits for the response with a
    unique key value.
    Sometimes the all the steps in the workflow get completed and with the same
    message input, one of the event does not invoked even though the XML message
    does contain the key-value that matches that event. I even verified this
    with the EventWatch table..
    Looks like there is problem. Pls WLI guys test it out.

    Apps for the iPhone can only be sold through the iTunes Store. You are not allowed to host apps on your own site, if that's what you mean, nor could they be loaded on any customer's iPhone without the customer jailbreaking the iPhone.
    If, however, what you mean is that you want to have a link on your web site to your app in the iTunes Store, you can use the Link Maker tool that Apple provides for the purpose:

    You could similarly include such a link within one of your apps to point to another of your apps, I would assume, again assuming that the app is in the iTunes Store.
    If this doesn't answer your question, please post back and clarify what it is you wish to do.

    I think the real reason they choose INDesign is because it a first a layout tool. Which is what magazine's use for the content. They know the this is where the distribution sector is. You get the Magazine corporations to adopt it, then you add the Multimedia capabilities that provides these same corporations the ability to use their existing layouts as a base then build the interactivity from there.
    My issue is that I can't be the only one who saw this need arising. A tool that incorporates layout, multimedia and publishing to various platforms which has power and ease of use is so badly needed. I am amazed that Apple did not partner with someone, especially Adobe to create a tool of this nature.
    Creating great applications, apps, and multimedia documents in my opionion should not be developed only by those with great technical skill. Anyone who can conceive of an idea, has good knowledge of Adobe and Apple Professional tools should be able to easily create apps and multimedia documents. Yet no one has developed a good WYSIWG tool. You still need so much coding to get anything done.
    All I can say is... the labs division said that September was the release date for the tools they used for the Wired App. So where are they?

    I have full CC subscribtion and I have Creative CLoud application on two machines as I was instructed by Adobe agent it should be all right. Now it gives me error message and indicates that it is a third machine with my  id - while I have given away my older lapton on which , initially, I hade CC agent with this |ID but I have uninstalled both CC agent and app;lication fro it befre I have installed them on my new lapop. SHould I do something online to remove this old machine from Adobe database? What would you suggest. Pls help.
