ODM 11g tutorial

Hi Mark ,
This version is looking good as compared to Classic(ODM 11g Release1) .I request you to provide ODM 11G release 2 Tutorial .
Thanks
DBS Suresh

Hi DBS Suresh,
There are two sources of tutorials for ODMr 11.2
1) The cue card tutorials that are contained in the UI itself.
In the top level menus, go to Help -> Table Of Contents.
The Help table of contents will be displayed in a separate window.
Look through the table of contents, at the end of the contents is a section titled: Data Miner Cue Cards.
There are 4 tutorials:
A. Getting Started With Data Miner
B. Data Miner Transformations
C. Data Miner Text Mining
D. Star Schema Mining
2) On OTN, ODMr 11.2 also has a similiar set of tutorials that are constructed in the Oracle By Example (OBE) format.
A. Using Oracle Data Miner 11g Release 2
[Using Oracle Data Miner 11g Release 2|http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/11g/r2/prod/bidw/datamining/ODM11gR2.htm]
http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/11g/r2/prod/bidw/datamining/ODM11gR2.htm
B. Star Schema Mining Using Oracle Data Miner
[Star Schema Mining Using Oracle Data Miner|http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/11g/r2/prod/bidw/datamining/ODM11gR2-StarMining.htm]
http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/11g/r2/prod/bidw/datamining/ODM11gR2-StarMining.htm
The data for both tutorials are provided as part of the UI driven installation and user granting process.
There will be additional OBE tutorials published over the next couple of weeks.
We will also be publishing a more comprehensive installation tutorial.
Thanks, Mark

Go into project properties - technology scope and add ADF BC.

  • Webcenter 11g tutorial

    Hi,
I would like to follow the webcenter 11g tutorial which stands in the oracle fusion middleware 11g documentation library.
For this tutorial you need to have sample tutorial files. In the tutorial there is this link http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/files/webcentertutorialcontent_11120.zip, but this link doesn't work anymore.
Does anyone have another link where I can download the tutorial files?
    Regards,
    Herman

    Is it this one:

  • ODM 11g R2 Case studies

    Hello All,
I have been trying to find some examples of using ODM 11g R2 in problem solving (case study). Can anybody help me with links for websites or videos other than those in this link:

under General Info there is a link ( ODM overview and several demos) which is a .exe file. I don't really know what to do with it, i download it and run, But no idea what it did. Any idea what does this .exe file do.
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi,
Try looking at the Telco Churn case study which is on the same link you noted in your posting under the following heading: New White Paper: Using Oracle Data Miner 11g Release 2 with Star Schema data - A Telco Churn Case Study
I will touch base with the Data Mining Product manager to see what the issue is with the online video.
    Thanks, Mark

  • Error while running HRFacadeClient of JDev 11g Tutorial

    Hi,
I was following the tutorial under Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces
Section 19 says to run application under OC4J,
<strong>19.</strong> Right click the <strong>HRFacadeBean</strong> in the Application Navigator and select <strong>Run</strong> from the context menu to launch the facade bean in the Embedded OC4J sever.
Curently OC4J not available under JDev 11g Production version, so it runs under Web-logic Server which comes with JDeveloper 11g. Please see the log below:

    Regards,
    Santhosh

    Hi Heidi,
I tried once again to install a fresh instance of Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.0 and upgraded it to 10.1.3.4 successfully. I did all the JDeveloper 11g installation and configure SOA process all successfully. I can create a connection to OC4J using 12401 RMI port successfully but none of my applications are deployed to server.
This message is repeatedly displaying in messages tab:
Exception returned by remote server: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: Disconnected: oracle.oc4j.admin.management.shared.SharedModuleType. local class incompatible during deploy ...
The default OC4J RMI port is 23791 but in my installation it is set to 12401 when I checked the Runtime Port option of Oracle Application Server and the connection is fine with this port but applications can not be deployed with this configuration.
I can deploy applications on separate standalone OC4J instance successfully but not able to do it with my SOA application server.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks again
    Esfand

  • Webcenter 11g Tutorial: Building portlets and wiring them fails at step 6

I'm running through the WebCenter Tutorial. I've done everything up to this point. I've created the portlet, checked the view.jsp works, and registered it as a WSRP producer in my tutorial application.
Step 6 asks me to drag and drop the portlet from the resource palette onto my page. This works, except when I run the page I get portlet unavailable on the generated page.
The only thing I can think of is that the portlet deployment is being stopped when the tutorial app is being deployed - so I can't run then both at the same time, but that's me guessing from the error messages. Can anyone help?
In JDev it says the following:
[Another instance of the application is running on the server.  JDeveloper redeploy the application.]

    Hello,
I want to start with the tutorial of Jheadstart 11G to get familiar with JHeadstart.
In the tutorial you need some tutorial files. This stands under chapter 2.1 in the tutorial. In this chapter there is reference to point 2:
"2. Tutorial Files for Offline Viewing and Database Setup [http://download.oracle.com/consulting/JhsTutorialFiles.zip]"
This link doesn't work. Where can I get the source-files to start with the JHeadstart tutorial?
    Kind regards,

    Hi Jean-Marc,
I'm downloading the sources right now. Yesterday and this morning I got an 404-error page, strange..
    Thanks,

  • WebCenter 11g Tutorial - webcenter schema required locally?

    Hi,
I recently installed WebCenter 11g on a linux 64bit server - this included installing WebLogic 10.3.2, an 11g database with the webcenter schemas installed and the webcenter domain under WLS (WLS_Portlet, WLS_Services & WLS_Spaces servers).
I've started going through the WebCenter tutorial (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/webcenter.1111/e10273/prepare.htm). The steps to setting up the tutorial state that a webcenter schema must be installed.
I'm slightly confused now. As I've installed schemas as part of the original WebCenter install, do I need to install another schema or are these tables the same?? Checking through the install script described in the tutorial, I see it creates tables with the same name as those created on the original install but some tables referred to in the install script don't actually exist in the tables of the original install.
Can someone clear up the relationship between the webcenter schema tables mentioned in the tutorial and the schemas installed as part of the webcenter install.
    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Is it this one:

  • 11g tutorial - FileNotFound Exception

I'm working through "Developing RIA Web Applications with Oracle ADF" using JDeveloper Studio Version 11.1.1.1.0 which I downloaded on 2nd July (Fusion 11g).
Platform is Mac OS X 10.5.7 (Leopard) \[ which I understand is a certified platform for this release \]
I've got as far as the section entitled "Binding Data Controls to your JSF page" item 9 where I try to Run for the first time. This fails.
In the server log I see this:-
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /var/folders/gp/gp1gPqTdGuKbVycxxGdzyk TI/-Tmp-/adfmeta883844420450827226.xml (No such file or directory)
There is no directory on my file-system named "/var/folders/gp/gp1gPqTdGuKbVycxxGdzyk TI"
However, there is a directory named "/var/folders/gp/gp1gPqTdGuKbVycxxGdzyk+++TI"
    This directory contains 4 sub-directories:-
    -Caches-
    -Tmp-
    DocSet_Downloads
    TemporaryItems
Has anyone else seen this and/or know of a workaround?

As far as I can tell, the only essential pre-requisite for running JDeveloper on Mac OS X is the creation of a symbolic link for classes.jar / rt.jar. In fact, the installation instructions state that this is required in order to run JDeveloper. In fact, I discovered, this is essential for the installation process to work.
Mac OS X uses an unusual (to say the least) mechanism for handling temporary directories. However, the actual location should be completely transparent to any application.
The actual path to the temporary location will vary by user within system. For example, on my machine, this code \[fragment\]
    File t = File.createTempFile("Andy", null, null);
    System.out.println(t.getAbsolutePath());
    ... reveals this ...
    /var/folders/gp/gp1gPqTdGuKbVycxxGdzyk+++TI/-Tmp-/Andy6602723369474613581.tmp
    This is entirely as expected.
So let's remind ourselves of the error reported during the deployment...
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /var/folders/gp/gp1gPqTdGuKbVycxxGdzyk   TI/-Tmp-/adfmeta1025791649343788752.xml (No such file or directory)[01:42:37 PM] ####  Deployment incomplete.  ####
Now, if we take that path literally (as reported), it would be impossible for such a file to exist because the directory "/var/folders/gp/gp1gPqTdGuKbVycxxGdzyk TI" doesn't exist.
I suspect that the temporary directory (or maybe the full path) has been "massaged" in some bizarre manner which has caused the characters "+++" to be replaced by " " (i.e. 3 spaces)
I'm currently looking to see if there's a way to coerce the system into using a different location for its temporary files.
In the meantime, I'm certain that this is a bug in the current release.

  • 11g Tutorial "classes" not found

I was going through the setup steps to install the "Oracle ADF: Build a Fusion Web Application" tutorial found under Turoials this site and when I run the "build.xml" ant file an error is display that says:
    BUILD FAILED
C:\download\jdeveloper\FOD_11\Infrastructure\Ant\build.xml:38: destination directory "C:\download\jdeveloper\FOD_11\Infrastructure\Ant\classes" does not exist or is not a directory
The directory "C:\download\jdeveloper\FOD_11" is where I unziped the FOD_11.zip file to. Under the "Infrastructure\Ant" direcortory there is not a "classes" directory. How is that created? It is not in the zip file either, does it have to be built, if so how?

  • ODMS 11g (11.3.0.0.0) for Microsoft Windows install repwizard.bat failure and resolution

    Hello,
I'd like to share my experience with installing Oracle Database Mobile Server 11g (11.3.0.0.0) for Microsoft Windows. Hopefully this can be resolved in a future release or this workaround can help someone else.
This was a new installation on Windows 2008 R2 server. The repository is to be in Oracle Standard database 11.2.0.3 64 bit. GlassFish 4 had been installed previously for Oracle APEX. Java version is 1.7.0_45.
During the repwizrd.bat process, the progress would stop at 95% on the "installing Mobile Server" step.
Examining the logs in the MobileServer home folder (D:\oracle\MobileServer11gR3_1\Mobile\Server) showed errors with the MOBILEADMIN  user.
The workaround is to manually create the MOBILEADMIN user. Once the user MOBILEADMIN  was created manually with the unlimited quota on the USERS tablespace the repwizard process seems to be happy with everything and completed successfully.
This makes no sense since the SYSTEM password was provided. I am suspecting that this script was developed with an existing installation and not tested in a completely clean environment and therefore a bug.

thank you for the feedback.   Did you work at all with ORacle support on this issue?  We do our internal testing on clean environments.  I would like to understand in more detail what happened here because if there is a bug in the install code, I would like to get it addressed.  Feel free to email me directly on this.  [email protected]
    thanks
