OEM 10g Java Console on 10.4.3

I've installed the 10g client using the various bits of information I've found on the net and it installed without error. When I run oemapp console I can add a db to the tree. when I try to connect I get the following error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/i18n/text/converter/CharacterConverterOGS
at oracle.sql.converter.CharacterConverterFactoryOGS.make(CharacterConverterFactoryOGS.java:38)
Interesting thing is that the jar that CharacterConverterOGS is in, orai18n.jar, is in the classpath (which is set by the oemapp script). Not sure where to go from here. Anyone?
Thanks,
Jason

In a little more detail, please ... what did you rename from what source to what destination (or I suppose a soft link would work?) to get teh Raptor pre-release to work?
Using /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5/Home as the answer to the raptor startup query, and then adding 'SetSkipJ2SDKCheck true' to the raptor/jdev/bin/raptor.conf file still produces a java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:

  • Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console

    Hi ,
I want to use EM 10g in order to set up the replication environment.
In the Administration tab of the EM 10g there is a TIP at the bottom of the tab page ....
TIP Use the Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console to manage Advanced Replication and Workspace.
Which is the Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console and how can i call it.....??????
NOTE: The database 10g v.2 is installed in Windows XP os.
    Thanks ,a lot
    Simon

The EM 10g Java Console can be installed from the Oracle 10g Client CD and it is used the same way the 9i OEM. The difference is that EM 10g Java Console is only used in Stand-alone and does not include connection to a Management Server.
It has limited functionality. There are a lot of features not available in it and is only available as a backup to some functionalities not yet in Grid Control and DB Control. (e.g, There is no Replication in 10.1 Grid Control, but it is in 10.1 Java Console). It will be phased out in future Releases (no idea which release yet).

  • Where to find Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console software on OTN?

Hi All, Please let me know where to find Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console software on OTN? Appreciate your help!
    Thanks!

"The Java Console program is on the Oracle 10G Client software CD. When you are prompted to choose the type of installation, select the Administrator option and the Java Console will be installed with the rest of the software. After the installation is complete, navigate to the Oracle home's bin directory where you installed the Oracle Client and type in:
    oemapp console

  • Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console  for Windows

    Dear all,
I have download Complete Files of Oracle10.1.0.2 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit). After installation, When I opened Web-based Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g; I see the following tip on the Administration page
TIP Use the Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console to manage Streams, Advanced Replication, Advanced Queues, XML Database, Spatial and Workspace.
But I am still looking from where it can be launched. Have any professional experienced the Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console on MS Windows platform?
    Regds,
    Faran

It is not installed by default, you have to mark its
checkbox explicitly. In the package selection tree, it is
    under Oracle Client 10.1.0.2.0.
It's only a Beta! But it's much more stable and a little
bit faster than 9iR2. They probably didn't check it for
default installation as it's just a beta.
There's one another interesting issue with Enterprise
Managers (Java and web) in 10g: each of them recommends
you in the welcome page to use the other one. What was
first, the chicken, or the egg???

  • 10g & java console

the new em in 10g is purely webbased
on logging in near the botton of the page
it states that you need to use java console for aq
    etc etc
is there still a java ver of enterprise manager in 10g ?
ive installed 10g on linux & cant seem to find
any other version of em other than the web based one above

You have to use the OEM of 9i to do that. OEM in java based application is not available in 10g.

  • Does the OEM 12c console show DB objects, same as old versions of OEM Java Console?

I have read all the documentation for Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control.  Does any piece of this product show database objects in a tree style, like the old OEM 10G java console?  Please be specific with instructions.

    Hi Dawn,
12c is more advanced with high end capabilities when compared with 10g.
Many new features were included, with lot more stack changes. The old 10g uses the AS as it middleware, but the new 12c uses the WLS (Weblogic) as its middleware.
To understand what is 12c and how it is different, follow the below URL:

  • OLAP OPTION IN OEM 10g

    Hi...
I want to create a data warehouse (dimensión, cubes) using OEM 10g ... i found some examples about how to create this objects and i saw that OEM 10g in examples have an OLAP option that i can´t see in my OEM. The questions is .. how do i enable my OEM to use OLAP Option.. or wich version of OEM support and where can i download it ...
    Best regards

In 10g Java Console, Select the Database, then check under Warehouse -> Summary Management.
In DB Console or Grid Control, Select the Database, Select Administration, Select OLAP Dimensions or Cubes under Warehouse.

  • OEM Java Console in 11g database server

Will Oracle support / include the EM Java Console with the client software of 11g db server ?
I really like the EM Java Console for monitoring couple of databases instead of installing the entire grid control and the browser based OEM (scroll pages and pages in some cases).
    Thank you.

From past discussions, the OEM console will go away unless Oracle has changed their views on the java console. It remained in the 10g version for backwards compatibility reasons and because some components weren't in GC yet.

In addition to using Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control or Grid Control, you can use the Oracle Enterprise Manager Java Console to manage databases from this release or previous releases. You install the Java Console by using the Administrator installation type.

  • OEM java console client

    hello all.
Do you know if there is the oem java console client for windows 7 and oracle 11g client?

    Hi,
With Oracle Database 11g, it provides Enterprise Manager Configuration plug-in, which automates the process to switch configuration of a database from Database Control to Grid Control.
    regards

  • Diagnostic pack, Tuning pack are not in OEM 10g, Add partition to a table

    Hi All,
    I have 2 questions:
Q.1: In Oracle 9i Oracle Enterprise Manager java console, we had "Diagnostic Pack" and "Tuning Pack" which helped us seeing performance tuning info (session's statistics such as cpu time, pga memory, physical disk reads, etc.) and privded help for sql tuning and performance improvements. But in 10g, the same product (Oracle Enterprise Manager java console) does not include these 2 packs, due to which we are unable to monitor and control performance tuning information/statistics. Now my question is, do we need to install these 2 packs separately in 10g? if yes, where can we get them? (I am sure in 9i, these packages came with OEM console and we didnt need to get them separately)
Q.2: I have a partitioned table having 5 partitions based on range partitioning. Now our requirements have changed and we need to insert values beyong the 5th partition, so we need a 6th partition. Can someone tell me the command to add a new partition to the table? I tried "Alter table xxx add partition yyy ....", but it didn't work. If any one can me the correct syntax, it will be great.
    Thanks in advance.

OP is talking about java-based EM, not web-based DBConsole. In fact he/she has to change to DBConsole, because 10g java EM doesn't longer support these tuning features.
Alter table ... partition syntax depends on the kind of partitioning, see the documentation:

i'm cannot add hotes or cibles, oem 10g said "installing oracle management on computer hote" and my databases are oracle 8.1.7 platform aix 4.3.3 .
How do for managed databases ?
    Thanks

You need to install the remote agents on each of your database servers. Once you do that it auto discovers back to the oem console. -- be sure you are using oem grid control and not oem db control
