  • Replace windows 7 home premium 64bit oem

    Hi I've a Lenovo g770 laptop from Poland and using in uk. Changing language to uk does not work 100% on home premium edition. So if I buy new windows 7 in uk could I install this as a new oem version on the laptop replacing existing (which would be used as recovery) and therefore replacing the key associated with the machine, or just keep the original oem recovery as is and install new uk version - ending up with two keys one on machine for original and one for the Dvd version. Hope this makes sense.
    Thanks

    There is something else you may want look at first. Use Anytime upgrade to upgrade your existing version to Windows 7 Ultimate. That would allow you to install language packs and change your current version of windows to whatever language you want.

  • Oracle 11g OEM job issue

    Hi all,
    After Oracle 11g migration, i have been facing issues in OEM scheduling. Twice the job did not run even after 11.2.0.7 upgrade. Hence i would like to explore the possibility of scheduling the same in DBMS jobs (we have not faced even a single failure since migration). However there is no mail alert available for successful completion of the job. In this regard i would like to have your views and help to create alerts to proceed further.
    Thankx

    Hi Ravi,
    Really the link helps,eventhough i have been looking for the rootcause to overcome from the job failure(scheduled jobs)

  • Process flow fails in OEM

    I am trying to schedule an external process in OEM. The task has been successfully deployed from Deployment Manager. The process flow location is owf_locn and the process flow name is stg_tgt. Hi Igor
    We're getting close, but not quite there yet. You may have missed my last posting due to the similar time of posting.
    My batch files will require reference to an application on a remote machine. Thus while I can copy the batch file to the server, the application referenced in the batch file must refer to files on another remote server specified as \\server2\d$\external.ear. As you can see this requires an administrative account on the remote server to access the 'd$' directory. In my last posting I had reached the stage where the batch job was denied access to the remote server, but otherwise (eroneously) reported success. What account do these jobs run against so that I can set up access permissions on the remote server?
    I tried your suggestions. #1 fails for the above access problem. #2 runs for hours until I cancel - this is the case anytime that I have tried using c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe. #3 Not sure what you mean by set up and register a file location?

  • IFS problem in OEM

    I've installed OCS 903 on Solaris 8, when I wish to start the service from the OEM Page -> System Componenet -> "iFS_xxx:1521:storage.xxx:IFS_IAS", I got this error "Servlet error: Renderer failed: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError" appeared at below the button "Set Local Componenets". Anyway to fix it?
    I'm running Xvnc on port 2, I can access to other system component with no problem, just the IFS given me the error msg.

    1 the service_name parameter of your database is not orcl.
    2 The database isn't open, so the database didn't register itself with the listener
    3 You didn't set up static registration of the database in listener.ora (required in 9i) so you don't have other mechanisms to connect.
    Apart from that: this very question has been asked at least 1 milliion times.
    You are kindly requested to search this forum before asking it needlessley again.

  • OEM agent deployment : Status=255

    Hi,
    I am deploying OEM Agent 10.2.0.2.0 on Linux (32-bit). As first installation was failed because of permission issue, I tried to reinstall it. I ended with this error :
    Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2007-02-26_03-45-43PM/jre/1.4.2/bin/java. Please wait...
    Completed with Status=255
    I tried to delete old installed folder but still same.
    Can anyone help in resolving this?
    Thanks in adv.

    I am following the orale documentation, the link is following:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/manage.1012/b16228/deploying_the_management_agent.htm#CIHEJIJC
    I installed agents on 3 other Linux (64 bit) successfully. But this time it is giving error. This time I have applied OEM plug-in where OEM is installed to monitor Oracle Application server and after that tried to deploy an agent on host. First time the link, setup was successful but at the end it suggested to change the permission os an .xml file. after doing that I end up with the error. It seems some cleanup issue. Pl. give your suggestions...

  • OWB and OEM Version ERROR (Urgent)

    Hi All,
    I am using OracleWarehouse builder version 9.2.0.2.0.8 and OEM version 9.2.0.2.0.10 and i am getting error while creating cubes in OEM. Is it due to different versions of OWB and OEM.
    Please Let me know, if anyone knows about it.
    with regards
    Mukesh Harjai

    Hi Mukesh,
    You do not need to create the dimensions in OEM, you can use Warehouse Builder to do this.
    On how to do this, check out this viewlet: http://otn.oracle.com/products/warehouse/htdocs/OLAP_viewlet_swf.html, and perhaps take a look at the following whitepaper: http://otn.oracle.com/products/warehouse/pdf/Enabling_OLAP_with_OWB.pdf.

  • Sql Tuning using OEM and Logon triggers

    OEM = 10.2.0.4/Agent 10.2.0.4
    Target = 10.2.0.3 Db
    We have several db users that have session level adjustments made by use of logon triggers. When OEM is used to review one of those session's performance and sql tuning opportunities - are the logon triggers and the session level settings taken into consideration? Another way to ask is if the suggested changes from the sql profiler are making decisions based on the user's session level settings?
    Thank you in advance.
    -abe

    Your logon triggers affect the new sessions. When you monitor with OEM, it is no affect on OEM's activity. Hoping that, your logon trigger did not affect the user which OEM uses to connect to repository DB.

  • OEM does not start up

    Hi there,
    I have a strange behaviour of OEM, It doen not even start, I have a message saying: fatal error, registry problem.
    I tried to re-install the product (coming with IDS, Oracle8i Entreprise Edition Release 3 (8.1.7)), the same problem occurs again.
    I understand that there is some pb with the registries, but I could not fix it.
    Help please
    Thanks in advance
    JF

    Okay, I've done some more investigation.
    I logged into sqlplus as SYS AS SYSDBA
    Tried to connect to SYSMAN but the system responded with a message that the account is locked and then it disconnected my session.
    Connected back to the database via the command: CONNECT SYS AS SYSDBA
    Entered the password and connected successfully
    Unlocked the SYSMAN account via the command: ALTER USER SYSMAN ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
    Connected to the database successfully as SYSMAN
    Tried to open OEM: Opened directly to the Status display with out opening the login page
    Went back to sqlplus and tried connection as SYSMAN but the system said the account was locked
    Trace file emoms.trc also says the account is locked.
    So it does look like the attempt to open the OEM, or something else, is locking the sysman account

  • OEM:oem agent doesn't start in case of using OS authentication.

    Dear experts!
    I've got 10gR2 and I'd like to use OS authentication (Win 2003 server). Having changed parameters os_roles=true and os_autent_prefix='' and restarted DB I tried to start OEM. Of course, I had an error of starting oem agent - "ora-01045:user dbsnmp lacks create session privilege ..." because of enabling OS authentication. But I don't know exactly how I can change DBSNMP-user from password-authentication to external-authentication. Should I create a new os-user DBSNMP? Or I should just alter existing oracle-user DBSNMP to external authentication?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Alexey.

    The first thing to check is that all administrator users have the "Logon as batch job" privilege under Win 2003's Security Policy.

  • OEM notification

    I have resumable timeout set to 15 mts. Wanted to get notified when ever session gets suspended due to space issue.
    I have defined new notification rule in OEM 10g, In metrics section i have choosen "Session Suspended by Tablespace Limitation" and made the rule PUBLIC.
    The issue is, i have generated scenario where session is suspended due to lack of space, In OEM database page i could see the Alert, but the mail
    is not yet triggered. After 15 mts i got email about tablespace 100% full.
    I want to get notified as soon as my session gets suspended?

    I want to get notified as soon as my session gets suspended?Impossible to guarantee. There is inherent, uncontrollable latency in email routing.

    Please not already I have created KARTHIK schema.

    Arthik,
    I think I know what may have happened.
    As I can see you are trying to create support for an updateable materialized view.
    You have to make sure the name of the schema that owns the materialized view is the same as the schema owner of the master table (at master site).
    From the code you have shown, I bet the owner of table EMP is SCOTT.
    From the other hand, you want to create materialized view EMP_MV under schema KARTHIK that refers to table SCOTT.EMP at master site.
    According to the documentation, the schema name used in DBMS_REPCAT.CREATE_MVIEW_REPOBJECT must be same as the schema that owns the master table.
    Please check the documentation at the link below
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14227/rarrcatpac.htm#i109228
    I tried to reproduce your example in my environment, and I got exactly the same error which actually confirms my assumption that the reason for the error is the fact that you tried to create the materialized view in a schema with different name than the one where master table exists.
    I'll skip some of the steps that I used to create the replication environment.
    I have two databases, DB1.world and DB2.world
    On DB2.world I will generate replication support for table EMP which belongs to user SCOTT
    SQL> conn scott/*****@DB2.world

    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_REPCAT", line 1332
    ORA-06512: at line 3 I reproduced exactly the same error message.
    So the problem is clearly in the schema name that owns the materialized view.
    Now lets see if what would happen if I create the MV under schema SCOTT which has the same name as the schema on DB2.world where the master table exists.
    SQL>conn scott/****@DB1.world
    Connected.
    SQL>CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW SCOTT.EMP_MV
      2    REFRESH FAST
      3    FOR UPDATE
      4    AS SELECT EMPNO, ENAME, JOB, MGR, SAL, COMM, DEPTNO, HIREDATE

    Materialized view created.
    SQL>conn mviewadmin/******@DB1.world

    SQL> BEGIN
      2       DBMS_REFRESH.ADD(
      3         name => 'MVIEWADMIN.MV_REFRESH_GROUPA',
      4         list => 'SCOTT.EMP_MV',
      5         lax => TRUE);
      6    END;
      7  /
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.And now lets run CREATE_MVIEW_REPOBJECT.
    SQL>   BEGIN
      2       DBMS_REPCAT.CREATE_MVIEW_REPOBJECT(
      3         gname => 'GROUPA',
      4         sname => 'SCOTT',
      5         oname => 'EMP_MV',
      6         type => 'SNAPSHOT',
      7         min_communication => TRUE);
      8    END;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.As you can see everything works fine when the name of the schema owner of the MV at DB1.world is the same as the schema owner of the master table at DB2.world .
