OIF 11g Admin Interfaces Unavailable

Hey,
We have an install of OIF 11g r1 that will no longer allow us to access the EM management interfaces associated with the IdP or SP. The error we get is as follows:
Configuration settings are unavailable because /Farm_IDMDomain/IDMDomain/wls_oif1/OIF(11.1.1.2.0) is down.
However, when I go to check the Farm_IDMDomain the Deployments and Fusion Middleware components show that everything is up and running. Strangely enough, I have another instance on another box that is showing something is down in my Fusion Middleware component view but nothing is actually down and the server seems to running fine. Not sure how to proceed. I've logged an SR but so far have had no response.
tks

The OIF 11g administration is done via the em (enterprise manager) console of the weblogic instance where OIF is deployed.
1) Start the weblogic admin server.
2) from the browser: http://host:port/em (the default port is 7001, unless you hv given something else during install). Give login/password.
3) Then start the OIF application from the console.
This is going to work.
Instead of 3 above, you can start the applications from the command line also, but this is easier to do.
Hope this helps. Let us know.

• Error while starting the AqAdapter in SOA Suite 11g Admin Console

facing an issue with the AqAdapter(Resource Adapter) in Soa Suite 11g Admin Console.
we go to Deployments --> Select Aq Adapter --> Currently it shows the status as Prepared
Now we try to Start it again --> it comes back with the error message mentioned below
weblogic.application.ModuleException: weblogic.connector.exception.RAException:
Jndi Name is null or empty. Errors were encountered while performing this operation.
source path on the admin server is mentioned here for this AqAdapter:
/opt101/app/oracle/SOAD/SOA11gR1/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/connectors/AqAdapter.rar
deployment plan :
/opt101/app/oracle/SOAD/SOA11gR1/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/connectors/was/Plan. xml
We check in the Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pools -->
here it shows the Group as javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory and under it we have setup
2 connection pool instances with JNDI names as : eis/AQ/aqSample & eis/aq/B2BAQ
Could someone please help here as to what could be the reason why this error is coming and
how we could resolve this.
With Regards & thanks

This is what we have done :
1.Created the JDBC data source & connection pool as below :
data source name : B2BAQ , JNDI name : jdbc/B2BAQ
Connection Pool :
URL : taken from the tns entries of the instance
Driver Class Name : oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
Tested this connection ..it works fine from the Admin Console
2.Then go to Deployments --> AqAdapter -> Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pool Group -->
Create a new connection pool instance -- General tab
connection interface factory : javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory
JNDI Name : eis/AQ/B2BAQ
Then in Properties tab : Enter the Data Source Name : jdbc/B2BAQ
Then we try to Start the AqAdapter from the Admin Console..it goes into Prepared status.
The error message which comes is mentioned above.
Is there any way we could resolve this ..that would be very helpful

• WCS11G - Start Menu Items for Admin interface?

I'm looking into WCS 11G since I need to migrate a 7.5.5 site.
As it looks now, code or structure won't be modified to better support features such as supporting the contributor interface better so a lot of our users will expect to use the admin interface.
I am however having an issue enabling simple start menu items for content. I.e. a simple Start Menu Item for a Page, simply will not show up. It shows up just fine in the contributor interface however.
I've been going through all the documentation, but I cannot see any references to there being any limits on what kind of assets can be presented in the admin interface.
Is this a bug I'm experiencing? Or simply an approach taken to force users over to the contributor interface?
Thanks
/Lars

By default the Admin UI will not show certain asset types, this is intentional and controlled by the property advancedUI.enableAssetForms in futuretense_xcel.ini. If you set this to true and restart then the Page assets and others will show up. Here's an extract from the Property Files Reference Guide:
advancedUI.enableAssetForms
Used to enable and disable the WebCenter Sites
Admin interface for content contributors. Access
to the following assets is affected:
• All flex assets and their parent assets
• All basic assets
• Engage assets, such as recommendations,
segments and promotions
• Query, Collection, and Page assets
By default, this property is set to false, which
disables the WebCenter Sites Admin interface for
content contributors. The assets listed above
cannot be created, edited, searched for, or deleted,
except from the WebCenter Sites Contributor
interface, where they are supported by default.
Note: In the Contributor interface, asset types and
assets intended for developers are either available
only for inspection or they are inaccessible. They
must be accessed from the WebCenter Sites
Admin interface. For a comparison of features in
the Contributor and Admin interfaces, see the
WebCenter Sites User’s Guide.
Default value: false

• OIF 11g in Clustered Mode

Hello,
I have installed oif 11g in clustered mode.
The 1st OIF, adminserver & EM is on the same machine. 2nd OIF server is on another machine.
I can start this remote server using node manager but I cannot access the OIF admin from EM console, it gives 'agent unreachable' error.
I tried re-registering instance and emagent but still getting the same error.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

"High Abvailability" and "Clusturing" are general basic requirement for any production installation but it does NOT mean that any system installed in production MUST have "High Abvailability" and "Clusturing" configured.

• OIF 11g as IDP supporting multiple SPs

Hello,
I have OIF 11g setup as an IDP using OAM/OID as the authentication engine. I have configured it following the steps provided in section 3.2.3.2 of the doc here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/oim.1111/e13400/deployment.htm#BABCAABE. There is an OAM policy protecting fed/user/authnoam.
I currently have 2 SPs: sp1 and sp2. Can I have different OAM policies for each SP? For example, I want to allow only users in the ldap group sp1_group access to sp1 and users in ldap group sp2_group access to sp2. The issue is that when an authentication request is sent from any SP, it gets sent to fed/user/authnoam, which is protected by one OAM policy.

I had this requirement too in my previous project where for one SP, we want to authenticate aganist consumer data store and another SP, aganist customer. If i remember correctly, the product doesn't support that. Not sure about 11g R2 though.

How much memory have you configured for the servers?
When the memory (Xmx and Xms - JVM parameters) is too small start-up times can get long.
I saw that you have SOA environment. To tune your environment this link might help: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=6040

• Can't connect to router's admin interface (WRT54G v3.1)

Hi.
I have problem with my Linksys WRT54G v3.1 router. I can't connect to its admin interface and broadband Internet connection doesn't work.
The power LED is flashing. When I restart the router or unplug and plug it again, nothing happens. The power LED just continue to flash and I can't connect to the router. I even tried to put new firmware but program that I downloaded from linksys.com can't connect to the router.
When I enter http://192.168.1.1 into Firefox or Explorer, I get "Connecting to http://192.168.1.1..." and nothing else happens.
I hope that someone can help me because it's pretty annoying that my home network doesn't work...

Sounds like your router is bricked, flashing power LED is not good. Contact the RMA department and explain whats going on. Your router has the Linux operating system. When you talk to them make sure you mention this and you want the same router as a replacement which is the WRT54GL. If you dont specify that you want the same they will send you a version 6. Then you are looking at more headaches.
In the RMA form you have to add "ONLY" to the version box on the RMA form. That's because most customers prefer the latest if they have it, and they try to accommodate as much as possible. Rarely is there a need for a specific version.

• SG 300 web admin interface does not display properly

Went to log into the web admin interface on my SG-300 today and I get this in both IE and Firefox:
I'm not able to login by typing user/password and just pressing enter. I've tried power-cycling the switch, and this didn't help, however, since the power cycle, the font-panel system LED has been blinking green. I seem to recall, though I can't locate the reference now, that this means the switch is running with factory settings, but that cannot be right because:
1. I had previously saved a new configuration on the switch, which it should be using now.
2. It is answering on the configured non-factory IP address -- just not rendering the web admin interface successfully.
I've had this unit for approximately a month. This is not the first issue I have had with this unit (see:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3486734) and I'm experiencing some strange LAN speed issues since I installed it. Do I need to RMA this thing?

Hi Lamont
There was a issue and work around for a issue with IE in the release notes, it may be relevant to you.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/csbms/sf30x_sg30x/release_notes/Sx200-Sx300_R1.1.1.8.pdf
Problem: Some WEB GUI pages require full version compatibility of JRE, Browser and JRE-Browser applets. For XML compatibility reasons, MSXML DLL Version 6 is required for IE browser users.
Solution: For download and installation please refer the following link: www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=993C0BCF-3BCF-4009-
BE21-27E85E1857B1&displaylang=en
This may or may not be relevant to you. I would like to think that you are using 1.1.1.8 ?
If you really are experiencing some weird problems , why not get the product verified by the Good folk at the Small Business Support Center.

• 1z0-053 11G Admin 2 Exam

Wondered if someone could help, I have a few questions about the OCP exam, 1z0-053 11G Admin 2.
I am using the Oracle Press book by Bob Bryla to study for this exam, but the objectives in the book do not match up to the objectives on the Oracle website. For example, in the book Objective 15.2 is named as Working with Database and NLS character sets. But there is no mention of this objective on Oracle's website.
Also, I am thinking of buying the transcender practice tests. Does anyone have any experience of these? Are they worth the money?
Any other tips about taking the exam would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

ok thanks for this.
Does anyone have any transcender experience?
Also, sorry for the vague question but compared to 1z0-052 how much more difficult would you say it was. I passed 1z0-052 fairly comfortably, and I work in app support with apart half my time spent purely on dba work.

• Customize the APEX admin interface

Is it possible to to customize the APEX admin interface, might sound silly but what i am specifically looking at is replacing the Oracle Application Express Logo on top left corner with a custom logo.
Would anyone know how easy or difficult that is in case its possible.
Thank you,

Browser extensions like Firefox+Stylish are useful when it is beneficial to customise the builder UI—such as changing font sizes and text contrast. For browsers that don't have such extensions, local user style sheets can be created.

• How to add Sub Tabs to Admin Interface under Account Tab.

Guys,
Is there way to add sub tabs to Accounts Tab in admin interface.
Regards,
Vinod

It can be done -
The necessary java code to achieve this needs to be put in the file: includes/bodyStart.jsp above the line that creates the navigation bar:
<% String navBar = p.getMainNavigation();
For example, let's say we want to add a new tab that gives us a shortcut to the debug/session pages, and a sub-tab below it that lists all configuration objects in the repository. Here's the code for it:
// Add a tab..
com.waveset.ui.PageNavigation DEBUG_PAGE = new com.waveset.ui.PageNavigation("Debug", "debug/session.jsp", 0);
DEBUG_PAGE.setRequiredPerms(new com.waveset.object.Permission[] { new com.waveset.object.Permission(com.waveset.object.Type.SYSTEM, com.waveset.object.Right.VIEW, true) });
p.addPage(DEBUG_PAGE);
// Add a sub-tab..
String urlDebugListConfiguration = "debug/List_Objects.jsp?List_Objects_Type=Configuration";
if (! DEBUG_PAGE.containsSubPage(urlDebugListConfiguration) ) {
com.waveset.ui.PageNavigation DEBUG_LIST_CONF_PAGE = new com.waveset.ui.PageNavigation("List Configuration", urlDebugListConfiguration, 0);
DEBUG_LIST_CONF_PAGE.setRequiredPerms(new com.waveset.object.Permission[] { new com.waveset.object.Permission(com.waveset.object.Type.CONFIGURATION, com.waveset.object.Right.VIEW, true)});
DEBUG_PAGE.addSubPage(DEBUG_LIST_CONF_PAGE);
As seen above, appropriate rights can be coded to limit the visibility of these tabs to administrators with certain capabilities. For a complete list of rights, refer to the IDM documentation and the java-docs for com.waveset.object.Type and com.waveset.object.Right.

• Oracle 9iAS admin interface layout

To all:
I know I can created a portal the way I wanted but is it possible to change the layout of Oracle portal admin interface as well. For example, to use different color on the banner or use of our customized icons.
Thanks

If the 'Edit' link appears on the page you wish to change, then you have the appropriate permissions. The main admin page is within the 'Portal Design-Time Pages' page group.
Another way to find the main admin page is:
1. Click the 'Navigator' link.
2. Select the 'Page Groups' tab.
3. Find the 'Portal Design-Time Pages' row.
4. Click 'Edit Root Page'.
If you do not have the correct privileges, then you will not see the 'Edit Root Page' link.
Good luck!

• Attributes in admin interface different than in Debug page

Hello everyone,
I'm facing an issue on how to update attributes on the admin interface to reflect the same on the debug page. On the admin interface, when I lookup a user's attributes under the Attributes tab, I see their old attributes eg. user status-T,jobcode- xxxx, user type - contractor. But when I lookup the same user in the Debug page, I see the new values reflected eg. user status-A(active), user type- EMP. This is happening for selected users only where they have changed from a contractor to an employee.
Can anyone suggest how to update the values to ensure both are the same? Has anyone done this?
Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.
