OIM Task Failure

Hi All,
I am seeing username against a failure of a task that is assigned to a Group "System Administrator". When I see the "Task Assignment History", I see two rows for it. These are as follows:
Row 1:
Task Status: Rejected
Task Action: User
Assign Type: Group
Assigned To User: Angelo Saiano [10026374]
Assigned To Group: SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS
Assigned By: 10026374
Assigned Date: April 18, 2012
Row 2:
Task Status: Pending
Task Action: Engine
Assign Type: Group
Assigned To User:
Assigned To Group: SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS
Assigned By:
Assigned Date: April 18, 2012
As per me, it should have gone to Engine. Why it is going to the user? Am I missing some setting in OIM that is causing this error? This is for OIM 9102 BP11.
This task pertains to change AD password. It is sporadic in nature as it works for most of the users and fails for some. Once a system admin reset the password of user, it starts working for that user.
Please advise.

Hi
your JDK version is not supported.
You need to use JDK1.6.0_10 and later.
Please correct this and
Other reason could be your environment variables. Ensure that you follow installation guide.

Now if again this ORA-00942: table or view does not exist is coming, possibility is that there is no issue regarding privileges as you already have given all privileges to DEV_OIM...
Anyway try again giving full permissions to it just in case for some reasons permissions might have reset...

  • OIM task Scheduler

    Hi guys,
I have few doubts regarding OIM task scheduler:
    1) I have defined a class to run using task schedler everyday. I like to set the status of task scheduler to COMPLETED or FAILED after each run. How can I achieve this?
    2) Or I should not catch any exceptions in my code. So that it marks the task scheduler status as FAILED?
I have gone through below link about status of task scheduler but can't make out anything:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31081_01/idmgr/b25940/oimadm.htm#CIADIAEJ

    Hi,
I think that the BaseScheduledTask sets that status itself when it finishes its run. I've used "getStatusString" to set the task status during the reconciliation process.
By the way, if the Scheduled status is not NONE or INACTIVE when it finishes the job, I think OIM won't let you start again the Scheduled task (someone correct me if I'm wrong, plz, at least it happens when it Stucks on "Running").
In my case, "NONE" is the status that I get when the scheduled failed, and "INACTIVE" when succeed. So maybe you should try to throw the exception and see what happens.

  • DAC task failure: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_Full

    Hi,
The Incremental DAC load failed yesterday night for two workflows:
    SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate
    SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_Full
The workflows belong to the Out-Of-Box Container SIL_Vert.
The workflows populate zero records on other regular days, but this is for the first time it resulted in an error during DAC load.
The DAC log doesn't show any detectable error message with the root cause information. But since there were many dependent tasks running on top of it, they all got stopped and henceforth resulting in the DAC failure.

    Hi gs,
    This is database dependent command
    depending on conncetion type @DAC_SOURCE_DBTYPE
which DAC reads when you define Source database type in Physical datasources,
By default it will invoke the informatica workflkow SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_ORCL
    however if your
source is DB2 it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_DB2
source is mSSQL it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_MSSQL
source is Teradata it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_TD
Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks,

I am not sure if this information will help everyone, but here goes...
For us, these problems with FlexUnit tests crashing the Flash Player appear to be related to couple of factors. Recently, we moved up from Flex 3.2 to Flex 4.1 as our development baseline.  Many people complained that their development environment (Flash Builder, etc.) was much more unstable.  Apparently, 4.1 produces SWFs that require more memory to run than 3.2 does?  Anyway, we still had Flash Player 10.1 as our runtime baseline.  Apparently, that version of the player was not as capable of running larger FlexUnit test SWFs, and would crash (as I posted months earlier).  I upgraded to the latest 10.3 standalone player versions, and the crashes have now ceased.  It would be nice to know exactly what was causing the crashes, but memory management (or lack of) is my best guess.
So, if you are seeing these issues, try upgrading to the latest Flash Player version.

    Trevor

  • OIM - Task Assignment Adapter - How to get the object instance key?

    Hello experts,
I'm trying to use a task assignment adapter to assign an approval task dynamically. Basically, the user can request a resource like "CustomApp Profiles" and we create an object form to let them choose the profile that he needs. Each profile has an owner, which is populate in a Lookup (Owner is the code and Profile is the decode).
So, in the approval task, I need to get the profile selected by user in the object form and search into the lookup who is the owner of that profile. But I don't know how can I get the object instance key using the parameters that can be mapped to a task assignment adapter.
Looking into the OIM documents, I believe that the easier way is using the request key, because the REQ_KEY is a foreign key in OBI table.
Did anyone knows how can I get the object instance key using the request key? Can I use some API or should I execute a SQL statement directly in OIM database?
    Best Regards,
    Nitto

To retry a task that is in a rejected state, you use the SCH_KEY which is the task key.  In OIM, all rejected tasks are listed in the OTI table.  It contains all the important information about a rejected or pending task.
You can use the APIs found in the tcProvisioningOperationsIntf class to retrieve open tasks.

  • Bizarre Task failure

I have a function module that performs a call transaction to create a transfer order. I have two tasks that call this function module; one tasks method calls the function and passes a flag to inform the transaction to be processed in foreground, the other tasks method calls the same function, but passes a flag to inform the transaction is to be processed in background mode.
The first task tries to create the transfer order in background; if it cannot create a transfer order, an exception is raised, and in the workflow the exception path then invokes the other task to create the order in the foreground.
In the test environment, this works as desired.
In the production environment, the background task **always** fails; However:
    1) Processing the foreground transaction from the inbox always succeeds (I have 50 instances of this so far without failure)
    2) If I use the Business Object Builder, and invoke the method used to create the object in background mode that the task uses, it works with no errors.
    So in summary:
    Test environment - no problem.
Production environment - background task always fails.
Production environment - foreground task always succeeds with no errors; uses same Function module but calls transaction in foreground mode.
Production environment - Can call the method in Business Object Builder test tool and it works fine.
This is also happening with another two tasks that I wrote with a different function module to do a similar transfer order creation.
Anybody shine some light on this madness?
    - Tony.

    Hi Mike,
WF-BATCH is exactly the same in Test and Production, APART from the email address was missing in production; I have just maintained that and now they are identical.
There is a task before these steps that provides the workflow container with material numbers, but this is to guide the workflow, and reads from a database entry that definitely exists at time of read (there is at least a day between the creation of the sales order where it reads this from and the creation of the transfer orders).
One other difference; both of the failing tasks are in two separate parallel paths of a fork (one for each material of up to two in the order). Can't see how that could affect things, but then again I can't see what's going wrong here anyway.
I have functionality in all of my tasks to write the transaction messages back to the IDoc that started the workflow off; I'm going to activate that when I get back to work, and see if that shows anything.
    Cheers,
    Tony.

  • OIM - 'Task Effect' in Process Definition - Task Properties

    Hi all,
I am trying to understand the drop-down selection 'Task Effect' on the General tab of Process Definition - Task Properties.
On page 7-18 of the Design Console docs it says:
"When the disable action is chosen, all tasks associated with the disable action are inserted."
Can someone elaborate on this? If I have four tasks, each with a Task Effect of 'disable', will they all fire if one of them does?
Any hints, or documentation references, would be greatly appreciated. I am using OIM 9.0.3, btw.
    thanks,

  • OIM Import Failure

    Hi,
I have a process form with a field having length 100.
Now i modify this field length to 50.
I try to import this onto another environment and my import throws error saying cannot reduce field length.
But the problem is after this failure, i am not able to see the earlier version of the form with field length 100 in my design console.
    Thanks in Advance.

I try to import this onto another environment and my import throws error saying cannot reduce field length. It seems that Form was already there in your database and you tried to import in the same Database. Export/Import Utility doesn't support changing Field Length.
Go back to stable state of OIM by Database backup if you have.
If you don't have Stable state's DB Backup then Check the database and see does your form resides there ? If you are not able to see your Form in Design Console then it may be due to some permission issues. Check FUG table for permission related to your form.

  • OIM task Assignment Tab

I am trying to understand how the assignment tab works. In process Def, I have a task, like create user. That has a assignment tab which has one entry in it. It has escalation time and a Default Rule. I entered an escalation time of 10 mins and then proceeded to create another entry below that. However, it says it needs a rule and the Default rule is not applicable since its already used by the first entry.
What rule do I need to create? What should be in that rule? Thanks in advance.

    See
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14049_01/doc.9101/e14061/resmgt.htm#BABIHAIJ
You have to create Task Assignment Rule for this. That Task Assigment Tab is used for assigning that task to someone.
Suppose you have approval workflow and you have create Approval Task in that. Then you can assign it to anyone to approve that task.
In Task assignment tab, you select the user or group who will be responsible for completing that task. If you are giving some time duration in Escalation then it will escalate after that particular time but it tales value in ms.

  • OIM Task

If i have to send an email on immediate submission of request and i have a process task to do this, where i need to put the process task? I have only prov process and no approval.

As you are not having approval process definition, you may want to send it through the process definition.
So as I can figure out, provisioning task is getting assigned to user and you want to send email notification.
In process definition also you can send email using both Notification and Assignment tabs, these are OOTB functionalities.
You can also use custom code for the same create an adapter of the same and attach it in the process task.
Hope you are looking for this solution.

  • Execute powershell script in OIM task

    Hi everyone,
    I have a powershell script.
I want to execute this script on exchange machine.
    How can I do this?
Can you send a code blok that executes powershell script if you have?
    Thanks.
    Best regards.

    Hi FXE,
first of all, to protocol execution you can use the cmdlets Start-Transcript
    and Stop-Transcript.
If it doesn't create a transcript at all, your error is with launching the console from task.
If it does create a transcript, you can (hopefully) see what the script wrote.
On general principle I'd recommend trying these things:
Try specifying the full path to powershell.exe
Make sure the user running the task has the necessary permissions
Make sure it's running as local admin (with maximum privileges)
    Cheers,
    Fred

  • Site backup task failure

Ever since I did a site recovery my site backups are failing, I know you can set it back to no then set it back to yes but thats all the options I have (and that didn't work btw).
    MSB

    Hello Marc,
I would personally try and solve each issue separately. If you can start the backup job manually by starting the service, then troubleshoot the directory structure first. If you look at the link I provided (updated), it shows how to trouble-shoot this. Here
    is the direct link here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2012/08/01/support-tip-a-backup-site-server-maintenance-task-may-fail-to-run-in-configmgr-2012.aspx
Using Procmon with the filter settings listed really shows what each process is doing and why it failed.

  • How to call an external web service from OIM?

    Hi,
I have a question on how to call an external web service from OIM within e.g. creating user process? How should it be done; through adapter and task in the process?
    Any recomendations?
    Thanks in advance!

it is not clear to me if you are having problems with calling java code from OIM or if the problem is the web service API.
Lets do some divide and conquer:
Can you create a simple java class that just writes a couple of lines to the log? Please attach this code to the OIM task and make sure it runs.
Once this works we can start looking at the web service call.
    Best regards
    /Martin
