My itouch (5th gen. 32GB) was working just fine, with a full battery. I set it down, and 15 minutes later it didn't turn on. I brought it back home to see if it needed to be charged for some reson, but it was still pitch black. I plugged it into the computer to see if anything would happen but nothing did. I know you can reboot/ restart it by holding the power and home button at the same time for a few seconds, but my home button is broken... I have no clue what to do...
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task:
1. iResq or Google for others.

What happens if you plug the device into the charger? Does it start? Without a functioning home button, it is impossible to do a reset on the device, which would help it recover from not starting. What model iPhone are you using? Have you thought about getting the home button fixed?

My iPhone vibrated for 3 minutes and died. The screen was black but the phone was still vibrating. I searched what to do but everything said to reset it. But one day my power button got stiff and doesn't work. I tried to plug it into iTunes but it was not recognized. What am I supposed to do?
let it charge for 60 minutes, see if it awakes.
Plug it to itunes , awake or not and hold both buttons for a couple of seconds -

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

last night i have used my ipod and in morning i found it dead please help me its not responding at all i have tried evry thing

I forgot my passcode, so I was unable to access my phone. I then tried to restore it, but it has frozen during the process. It won't connect to my mac again and I can't stop the process because my lock button is broken. What do I do?
My first advice is "Back up the device, then have it replaced." Second item of advice, "Don't forget your passcode."
One of the purposes of the lock button is to recover from certain software failures. Without the lock button, such a recovery is nearly impossible. My advice would have served you best when the malfuction first developed, not after you forgot your passcode. -
my ipod 5th generation won't turn on or charge and i can't hold in both the button to charge it because the hoe button is broken, what can i do to fix it?
You are going to have to take it to the Apple Store to see if they can do anything for you. The Home button is critical for using your device. You need to get it fixed.

I have an IPod 5th generation and I would like to delete all personal content, and be signed out of my Apple ID as well, but there are apps that no longer exist on the apple store that I would like to keep.
Do this:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
Then go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings -
My iphone 4 suddenly died on me. It had a good amount of battery life left. I cannot soft reset because my home button does not work. Is there a way to reboot without the method of holding the two buttons? I am thinking that letting the battery die will work but I assume it will take a long time since the phone is off. Any other way to get it to turn back on/rest?
Plug it into the wall charger or to your computer with iTunes.
