OLAP connections; which table?

Hi
For security reasons, we need to monitor the technical settings of the OLAP connection (like name, Server information, authentication user).
Is this information stored CMS_INFOOBJECTS7, or in another table?
Which columns do we need to query?
Is there another way to monitor?
Please advice,

  • Unable to create Business Layer on top of SAP BW OLAP Connection - BI 4.0

    Friends,
Need an useful information, why can't we create a business layer on top of SAP BW OLAP connection which is built with BICS driver.
Today when i tried to create a business layer in IDT tool of BI 4.0 it didnt allow me to do so. Is it a s/w bug or am i following a wrong approach. I do know, we can create a .unx universe through relational connection. But i dont want that, please provide your input.
    thanks,
    Tilak

    Hi,
this question has been asked many times before, so a search will reveal your answer.
as the warning told you when you tried the workflow in IDT - business layers aren't supported for Bics connections - i.e. you can't create a UNX ontop of Bex using BICS..
unfrotunately, it was a strategic product decision that seemingly can't be reversed/influenced, despite the inherent problems this causes.
There are lots of requests for this feature to be restored, on the Ideas Place here: https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/community/ideas/businessanalytics/sbosemanticlayer
Please search and Vote for one.

  • Creation of Universe based on Hana OLAP connection

I have to create a universe in IDT 4.1 sp2 based on SAP HANA OLAP
    connection ?
How can i access SAP HANA view which was created using OLAP connection in Business objects Explorer? It does not allow creating Universe on top of SAP HANA OLAP connection and gives an error
SAP Business Objects query and reporting applications can directly connect to OLAP SAP HANA connections. No universe is required, only a published OLAP SAP HANA connection.
    Thanks

    Hi Jyothy,
Refer the below link on how to create universe on Analytic View/Calculation View using relation connection in IDT

  • Which table keeps the Discoverer Report list?

    Hi,
I'm new to Discoverer, actually I haven't started to use yet.
I would like to know is it possible to retrieve a list of reports created in Discoverer so that I can add them to the standard reports that I developed using Oracle Report builder in my application. If possible, which table can I get the report list?
My second question, is it possible to run a Discoverer report directly if I have the report link? Or everytime I run I must enter the schema username and password?
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

    Hi
With regards to question 1, I don't believe this is possible any more. The older versions were rather flexible in that approach but sadly, no more.
With regards to question 2, using a VPD you can authenticate to your heart's content using any custom defined table you wish. This is just an out of the box idea, and I don't know whether it will work, but here goes.
The table that stores public connections is this one: orasso.wwsso_psex_user_info$
I am wondering what would happen if we put a restriction on SELECT from that table to not allow selection if the SSO user was not of a certain class or did not have a certain privilege.
Would anyone else care to comment here?
By the way, inside SQL, this code SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV', 'CLIENT_IDENTIFIER') will return the SSO user.
For more info on public connections, look here: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/html/B13918_03/conns.htm#i1016752

  • Universe based on SAP HANA OLAP connection

Can I create universe based on SAP HANA OLAP connection ?
How can i access SAP HANA view which was created using OLAP connection in WEBI and Dashboard? It does not allow creating Universe on top of SAP HANA OLAP connection and give an error.

    Thanks

OLAP connection are only meant for tools that make use of OLAP connectivity only like BEx ..and HANA analytic views and calculated views are also treated as OLAP cubes for them..
So these connection is only available with analysis product like Analysis Office (which is meant to be used with Bex or OLAP cubes ) and Design studio which is again mainly built around OLAP paradigm..
You can not create a universe or Webi on Olap connection on HANA as of now.. However it could be like exposed in a future release of BO which is not public yet...

  • How to find out which Tables have been accessed without looking at the SQL query ?

    Hi,
I would like to know is there a way to find out what queries have been executed and on which tables without looking at the SQL query.
I have an old C++ code which calls some library functions to access the Oracle database. The source code for the library is not available to me yet. The functions selects/updates/deletes and inserts based on some input parameters I give. I do not know which tables it affects. How do I find out the actual SQL query and/or the tables it accesses ? I was told about V$SQL table that
has the most recently executed queries, but
I did'nt see any queries connected to my process.
Could anybody help me on this ?
    Thanks

PRECISE/SQL can help you if you have access to it
2nd option can be that turn on SQL_TRACE
Run executable of ur c++ program
it will create a trace file in user_dump_dest
and then using TKPROF u can see all quesries and their plan also.

  • Ranking on an olap connection

    Hello guys,
    I'm using DS 1.3 OVER BI 4.1 SP3.
My model was universe-based until now.
Inside query specifications on universe, I was able to set TOP 10.
Now, I've advanced into OLAP over HANA, and I can't find a solution to TOP 10 (not even a dynamic ranking) on my Datasource.
Any simple solution for setting a constant ranking on a datasource which is HANA-OLAP-connection?
(And if we're at it, is there a solution for a dynamic ranking also? (plan for the future:))
    Thank you,
    Or.

    Hi Tammy,
Thanks for the reference, but It's not the right solution for me because I'm using graphical Calculation View.
From your link I somehow got into this link:
SAP HANA: Implementing RANK using Graphical calculation View
If I had "RANK" column it'll be simple actually as a Variable inside HANA,
but I have to say that this guide for creating a "rank" column is way-too complicated to replace the good-old TOP N inside SQL or other tools.
Do you know of any simpler way inside HANA, maybe in newer versions, of creating a RANK?
    Thank you,

  • In which table cound i find the info on EDI standard Message type??

    Example
EDI standard Message type Business process
    EDIFACT ORDERS Purchase order
                   INVOIC Invoice
    ANSI X12  850 Purchase order
                    810 Invoice
Like those 850..810..etc info, i dont know from which table could i find the related info?
    Thanks.

    Hi Hoo,
Electronic Data Interchange (or EDI) refers to the use of computers in formatting and exchanging business information using internationally recognized standards and formats. Standards organizations throughout the world have defined hundreds of document types to create a universal language for companies to conduct business while using dissimilar systems and processes. Common business documents, such as the invoice, purchase order, production planning schedule, ship manifest, and customs declaration, have been standardized and are sent and received electronically over private secure networks (Value-Added Networks - VANs) and the Internet.
So EDI is not an SAP product, It is a method to exchange the data over internet.
You dont get any information in any table in SAP. SAP supports EDI to exchange the data over internet. There are no. of third party EDI tools to connect to SAP.
following is link to know more about EDI message types.

  • Which table stores field names and their description?

When I go to se11; I can get information about a table; its field names and field description.
How can I access same information using an ABP Program? I have a third party tool which connects to SAP; it can pull data from any SAP Table or view. I do not know which table or view stores information displayed in SE11.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi zigzagdna,
The field names and their description are strored in table DD03L and DD03T.
SAP DDIC dictionary informations are generally store in DD* tables. You can search this kinds of DD* tables in SE11 using F4 search help.

  • In which table deleted user list is stored

    Hi all,
I have made one user ZTEST in sap through SU01. Its details has been stored in USR01 .
When i deleted this user than the details of this user has been deleted from the tables USR01.
After deletion on which table deleted user information is stored.
Any BAPI is available which sgives the deleted table list .
    Thanks & regards

    Hi Lolo,
There is no table available in SAP to view the deleted user information. But you can connect to SQL & see the deleted user information.
I think the command " SQL>show recyclebin;" will show you the deleted user information.

  • Which table stores the information about a user (name, username etc.)

Which table stores the information about a user (name, username etc.) .Is it LDAP server or MSSQL server? then hw to go to that table ?

I guess this is a question about CAD - and it doesn't matter much if it's UCCE or Express. The info is in the LDAP called Directory Services. In UCCE the Sync process updates the LDAP from the ICM config database.
You can use a free LDAP browser to connect to the LDAP (anonymous connection) and read the LDAP.

  • EVDESCRIPTION from BPC OLAP Connection

    Hello All
We have an OLAP connection to IDT in BI4 for BPC MS 7.5
We had a problem getting the EVDESCRIPTION variable to show when creating WEBI reports so we created a measure for the account Dimension, which works a treat.
    <EXPRESSION>[Account].CURRENTMEMBER.PROPERTIES("EVDESCRIPTION")<EXPRESSION>
Although when we try to use the measure for a Hierachy dimension like our Legalentity dim which has three Hierarchies(H1,H2,H3) we get no results from the query in WEBI.
We did change the Syntax to read as follows
    <EXPRESSION>[LegalEntity].[H1].CURRENTMEMBER.PROPERTIES("EVDESCRIPTION")<EXPRESSION>
Although we get the desired results when running the query in SSAS we get a 0 when we use the measure in WEBI.
Hope some experts have an idea of what we can do the change our code or what we are doing wrong?
    Thanks
    Kind Regards
    Perven

    Hello
We have got passed this issue by creating it as a measure and using it in the query for the dimension.
We created the measure with the expression "[dim].currentmember.properties("EVDESCRIPTION")".
    Works perfectly.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Victor,
    to your points:
Can you ping the BW server from the BO server?
what do you mean with "ping". i don t know how to do this in BO and i couldn t find this via google
In case of windows on the BO Server: Did you install SAP GUI and can you access BW?
Yes SAP GUI is installed and i can access BW. I created there Multiproviders and queries which      i wanted to connect to bo. So from this side      everything is fine.
Are you trying with an application server or message server? (For a test try with app server and/or IP Address)
i m trying with app server (with its ip Address)
    Thank for your help
    Cheers
