OMA 12c - Auto tuning doubts

Hi all.
This morning we've received an alert from OEM 12c saying that one of the agents has gone down. Analyzing the logs we could see that the agent was shutdown automatically and put up few minutes later. In the logs description was detected that an auto tuning had started and when it was finished the agent started again. Does anyone know if this is a normal procedure for the agent auto tuning task? Is there a way to change the time this jobs starts?

Thanks

Bruno,
It would be good to get the screenshots of the following:
1. The incident/event from Incident Manager that indicates the DB is down. Specifically - please capture snapshots of the "Updates" tab within the details.
2. The ruleset definition - since you say you got at least one email - I'll assume the target list on the ruleset is ok - so please provide screenshots of the specific rule including the selection criteria and the actions.
thanks

  • Circuit for auto tuning of pid controller in lab view

    Hi sir
for my  project in auto tuning of pid controller using labview, for that
i require a simple  circuit diagram(lab view figure) and have no problem in running for that
i will be very thankful  to you

    Hi!
I am not sure if I completely understand the question but if you are wanting to do autotuning for PID there is actually a VI that will do it for you.  It is called PID Autotuning.vi and can be found under the PID Control pallete in LabVIEW.  The LabVIEW Help file also contains more detailed information on the inputs and outputs to the VI.

  • Using PID Auto tuning VI

I woul like to know  a little bit more about the PID Auto Tuning VI.  I read (in the user's manual) that it uses the Ziegler-Nichols method. I know that this method increases de Kc (gain) parameter until the system becomes oscillatory and then with that Kc and the period of the oscillations Tu you find the PID gains.  I would like to know how the VI increases the Kc, and if it increases de Kc until the system is oscillatory.

    Hi Yen78,
Yes, the PID Auto Tuning vi increases the Kc gain parameter till system output becomes oscillatory. Page 2-6 of the manual http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/A25258DF0D3E3CB386256B41000BA9B9 gives more information on this. You can also open the block diagram of the PID Auto Tuning vi and specifically look at the PID Relay Auto Tune.vi to see how the code is written. This tutorial has a section on Tuning which is also informative http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/d4748f0d59cf436d8625702700809ef4#3
    Hope this helps!

  • About the auto tuning

there are notes i write but struggle hitting
the automatic tuning has never ( along with other things ) been explained as to how to do it
do you first record the raw take
    then double click on it
and then move the slider ?
how do u save the altered loop /take?
is it done automatically ? if you use the slider on it
    or
do i first move the slider then record the loop
    very confusing
    like the flex timing issue
    thanks for your help

First, I think the Garageband supplied auto-tuner is a simple implementation, so it's not going to give you the same quality a more professional ( = expensive) plugin will give you.
But, it's not bad for fixing simple tuning issues.
Just record the raw take. If you want to have GB "clean up" the tuning on the track, you move the "Automatic Tuning" slider for that track to the right. If it's at 0, there is no auto-tuning applied. Progressively larger values cause more aggressive correction. You can play with the slider to find a setting that helps fix your problem without having the whole track sound artificial. Also note, this slider control applies to the whole track , not just a region. So if you only want to auto-correct parts of your recording, you'll need to create separate tracks and split up the original region, and drag those particular bad regions into the new track, and apply the auto-tune to just the regions on that track.
You don't save the altered loop, it's a real-time effect that gets applied when the track is played.

  • Auto-tuning of gauge

    Hello
I am working on a gas mixer with three mass flow controllers. The UI which i am developing with LABVIEW contains a gauge for specifying the total flow of the three gases and three other guages for three separate gases which denote the ratio of the amount of the respective gases that shouldto be controlled by the individual mfc's. Now the problem is these ratio gauges have to be auto-tunable. Like, for xample, if i change the ratio for gas1, the other two ratios will adjust among themselves to keep the total flow constant. I am unable to find a solution for this because in C we use variables for denoting the change in one number while in labview we dont have such privileges. So can you suggest me a simple way out for the solution of this problem.
    Thanks and regards

Suppose there are 3 ratio gauges A, B and C. I have given the total flow as say 15units and I have set the ratio in A as 3, in B as 5 and in C as 7. Now I changed the ratio in A to 4. So B and C will auto-tune among themselves and will increase and decrease correspondingly and the changed value will be shown in the front panel. I am attaching the screenshot of the front panel.

  • Performance tuning doubt

    Hi,
I came to know from an expert that "*If the remote destination is slow and archiver is taking longer to archive to that destination, then the user needs to allocate more redo log groups so that there is a logfile available for a logswitch to switch into, and not wait for the archiver to finish archiving to the destination.*"
But, generally this is true for "checkpoint not complete" error, we increase the redolog group for this issue.
I am unable to understand why to increase redolog group if " the remote destination is slow and archiver is taking longer to archive to that destination".
Can anyone please clear my doubt?

    Your question covers the waits:
    log file switch (archiving needed)
log file switch (checkpoint incomplete)Key detail - the log writer has a limited number of online redo log files, so has to re-use them. It cannot re-use a log file unless the contents of the file have been made safe. In the first case this means that any data blocks made dirty by the changes described in a given log file must have been written to disc before the log file can be over-written. Secondarily, if the database is running in archivelog mode, the online redo log has to be archived (copied) to some other destination.
The idea of adding more log files (for either wait) is simply based on the assumption that the volume of work varies through the day, and you have to cope with peaks of activity that can be covered by having enough online log files (or large enough log files). Once the peak processing has passed we hope that the checkpoints and the archival can catch up.
The reason why you have to archive the log files even if running in one of the data guard modes is (probably) that in the generic case you could have a dataguard standby in one location and archival going somewhere else for a variety of reasons. Oracle simply applies the generic strategy, it doesn't have a code path that says: "we doing X, so Y has beome redundant".

  • Can anybody recommend useful performance and tuning books.   I plan to take the 12c perf tune beta on March 21st

Can anybody recommend any useful performance and tuning books.
I should probably limit my search to 11g or higher.
I am starting to prep for the 12c perf and tuning beta I have scheduled on March 21st.

    Hi,
    I will review your review.
I do see this Oracle 12c book at Amazon written over a year ago.
    Its not a certificaiton book.
I also did take the course at Oracle for 11g performance and tuning.

  • What's up with auto downloads for tv seasons?

I receive emails telling me to download new episodes of already purchased seasons on iTunes but, alas!, no joy.  The episodes do not autodownload and I have not been able to find a way to get at them short of (you've got to be kidding) buying them all over again.  Really?!?

One of the first things I learnt in a PSE class years ago was: Never use auto adjustments, they'll ruin your picture ...
Since then, I rarely ever use any of these auto tuning features in any pricture editing software
I would go so far as to say that is extremely bad advice. The trio of 'auto' functions in PS are among the most powerful and useful in the entire program. They can be used in concert with each other, and each one faded to varying degrees - which they very often should be - and changing the type of blending when fading is very powerful. They can adversely affect image quality if used carelessly, by no means will ruin your photos de facto. Like any tool, they have to be used wisely. I've color corrected probably 100k photos over 18 years with PS and for me these tools are absolutely critical.

  • Auto-tune method

For the auto-tune in the MAX, I wanna to ask how many counts that the motors should be runned?
Can I change the desired position?
    Regards,
    Ivan

The count value depends on the resolution of your motor. Set it to be the maximum counts you want your motor to travel while responding to the signal sent for auto-tuning. Take a look at the following tutorial for more detailed information on servo tuning:

  • Auto Tune prior to running motion control program (LabVIEW)

    Hi,
I am controlling Parker Compumotor (404-LXR) linear servo table via GV6 drive and PCI-7344 motion controller.
The problem is that I always have to run automatic tuning in MAX when I turn off all the system and restart it.
Before I use the automatic servo tuning in MAX, the servo table buzzes and oscillates wildly. Cabling seems to be successful as linear servo motor is completely controlled by LabVIEW after auto tuning in MAX.
I wonder how I can just run my LabVIEW program without running Auto Tune step.

    Hello Gino,
Thank you for using our discussion forums. Yes, you can programmatic load the PID parameters from LabVIEW. Tune your servo using auto tune, once you are satisfied with the response look under the Control Loop tab for the PID parameters. In LabVIEW use the Load All PID Parameters.flx and use the tuned parameters from Measurement and Automation Explorer as the PID Parameters input for this VI. Place the VI before the multistart.vi. This will make sure the correct PID settings are used. I hope this helps you out. Have a nice day!

  • When i go to editor on garageband 10.2 it does not have the auto tune option. How can i find it or auto tune at all? Do i need to re-install?

when i go tot he editor option in garageband with the new update it does not give me the option to autotune like what I've seen others have. What should i do so i can get that option?

Auto tuning is called "Pitch Correction" in GarageBand 10.
Select the "Track" tab in the Track Editor.
If "Pitch Correction" does not show, enlarge the Editor pane by dragging the dividing line to the track area  upward, until the pitch correction slider is showing.

  • How do you auto tune in GarageBand 10.0.1?

I have tried looking in the plugins, and tutorials on Youtube but can not find out how to do it on this version of GarageBand.

  • What's up with auto tone?

What's up with auto tone? It doesn't seem very smart or useful. It always blows out the exposure for me, midtones in particular. I do have a hardware calibrated NEC SV monitor. I would much rather Adobe bring over the algorithims for auto contrast, auto levels, and auto color from PS, which, when faded to varying degrees using different blending methods (normal, color, and luminosity in particular), are incredibly powerful and useful.
Auto tone seems to have been broken from day one and hasn't gotten much better. I sometimes use it as a reference, then undo it and manually move somewhat in the direction it's suggesting, but it seems really out of whack in general.

  • Fine-tuning pitch for software instruments?

i recorded a song today, and all my instruments had been tuned according to my real piano, which, apparently, is a little bit flat. so, obviously, when i went to lay down a piano track with the software piano, it came out sharp. obviously auto-tuning everything but the piano would both sound bad and be dumb, so is there a way to fine-tune the pitch of the software piano?

No, GB is strictly limited to a 440 Hz tuning. What you can do is take your recorded real instrument tracks into an audio editor and correct their pitch so they match GB's instruments.
