On-demand process in page processing - possible bug?
Hi
Came across a possible bug today, certainly not a big one and unlike to affect many people but...
1. Create an on-demand application process
2. Create an on-demand page process that calls the application process
3. Delete the application process.
Now at this point, the page process is still available for editing/deleting etc.
4. Copy the application.
In the new version of the application, the page process shows as plain text in the application builder with no link to edit or delete it and when the page is run, it predictably fails at the processing point of the page process when it tries to find the application process (the id from wwv_flow_processing is shown in the error for the old application process).
The only way to get rid of the page process is to select 'Edit All' and then select and delete it - then everything is hunky dory again.
A minor issue I know, but maybe someone will have the same issue one day and stumble across this thread :)
Cheers
Ben
At the moment I cannot say if your link can help. Right now the call of the On demand Process looks like this:
Inside annonymous PL/SQL Region:
<script type="text/javascript">
get = new htmldb_Get(null,'||:APP_ID||'.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=F_REPORT_NAME',0);
gReturn = get.get();
document.write(gReturn);
</script>

Unable to see system process request page, process monitor page
Hi all,
We refreshed our test instance with prod recently. sysaudit and ddd audits were clean except for the following entries in sysaudit which i thought wasnt of much significance here.
SEC-30) Role User table (ROLEXLATOPR) should be populated when new User Profiles (entries in PSOPRDEFN) are created
sing User Profile component through PIA. The following User Profiles need to be fixed by simply opening and saving
hem through PIA:
per ID Description
OPP_PORTALADM Common Portal Administrator
OPP_PORTALMGR Common Portal Manager
OPP_USER Common Portal User
3 Total Rows
On logging to the superuser VP1, am not able to see many pages, such as system process request, process monitor and also do not have access to user profile page.
The upgcount was matched with prod instance and didnt find any issues there. For the same profile in prod, the user has access to all the above mentioned pages. In the cloned copy, no user has access to these pages.
We checked the permission lists and roles attached. They are all in place as the same user is able to access the pages in prod instance.
Could it be webprofile issue. We tried clearing the webserver and appserver cache and bouncing them. the webserver in use is websphere and OS is AIX.
Appreciate any valuble feedback i can get on this.
ThanksHere's just a thought.
Do you know if it is a security problem or a portal problem? I mean is the issue just that the links for Process Monitor, etc. don't show up in the menu, or does it give you a not authorized message?
Here's the thought:
Try to hit these links by pasting them into your browser:
http://localhost:80/psp/HR90DMO/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/PROCESS_SCHEDULER.PRCSMULTI.GBL
http://localhost:80/psp/HR90DMO/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/PROCESSMONITOR.PROCESSMONITOR.GBL
Make sure that you change:
- "localhost" for your servername
- "80" for your port
- "HR90DMO" for your weblogic domain name
If you can see the page, we need to look at your portal setup or portal security, maybe run Portal Security Sync. If you get an error message, can you post that message, and maybe we need to check the main security setup, etc.
Hope that helps at least get a little further toward a solution. -
Bug report: PL/SQL validation for page process
It looks like that the PL/SQL code which is entered for a page process isn't validated. It's not verified in the wizard and also not when modifying an existing one.
There is a "Do not validate PL/SQL code (parse PL/SQL code at runtime only)." checkbox on both pages, so I assume that the page is designed to do the check.

hi
my name is kapil and i am trying to open one (which is downloded) pdf document.which giving me an error as there was an error processing a page. there was a problem reading this document (110) for some page only. i am using acrobat reader x. is it any 3d setting or any thing else please give me an idea. i am waiting for replay as soon as possible...........
your sincerely
KAPIL TRIVEDIWhen I encountered an error "there was a problem reading this document 110" in Acrobat Pro 11 on 28.7 MB CS6 file, it indeed was very frustrating.
I solved my problem, but since I don't know which step benefitted me, I've to enumerate all the steps I took:
Read below:
1.1. I could copy the file anywhere on the drive, but couldn't 'save as' from Acrobat Pro.
1.2. No document security was applied of any sort on the file.
1.3. Still in the first tab of the document properties, all details under advance section were empty. No 'PDF Version' 'location' 'file size' etc were populated. Nothing.
1.4. I couldn't change and save anything in any of property dialogue. I could comment on the text, but as soon as I tried to save, it gave an error (some sort of 'File reading' error).
1.5. When I tried to extract a page (I tried many), it gave 'reading error'.
1.6. I didn't try 'splitting error'. Since I was 100% sure, it'll give me same reading error.
1.7. I opened the file in Firefox and tried saving it as pdf from there. But no error, but no save either.
1.8. I ran 'Remove Hidden Information' from protection panel without any errors.
1.9. I tried 'sanitize document' from the same tab, but didn't succeed.
1.10. Then (here I think the problem was resolved), from Document Processing panel, I did some commands. 1st, 'Export all images', successfully. Then 'Remove all links', it found 0.
1.11. Then in 'print production' panel, I clicked/tried to open acrobat distiller. The same opened, did some processing. But I don't know if it did something in solving the problem or not.
1.12. Although I think my problem was resolved till now, but the last step I did was 'Saved As' the file (from the file menu) as a .ps file. Though I've not yet reopened/used that ps file (to convert it into a pdf file again). But around here I wanted to close the file and it asked me whether I wanted to save the file, I said yes. And it saved the file correctly. And I checked that in properties dialogue, the missing information was populated too.
1.13. Sorry for so lengthy instructions, but I had no choice. -
How can I call a Page Process from the Select statement for Report Page
I'm able to call a javascript using the below:
img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#add2.gif" border="0" alt="Icon 4" onClick="javascript:add_connect1('||CPORT.ID||')"
But Now,
I'd like to accomplish (2) New things:
1. instead of using,....... onClick="javascript:add_connect1,
I'd like to call a Page Process, onClick=
2. I'd like to be able to call two different processes onClick.
a. onClick="javascript:passBack('||ID||')"
b. onClick= <Please see my question #1 above>
Can someone please help me with the syntax for this,
If indeed it can even be done?
Thanks- GaryGreg.
It seems that my situation is the one you describe in you second paragraph, where you mention:
you could then add the ID column value as a parameter to the javascript functionBut,
I do not know how to reference the variable in my javascript nor how to use it in my on-demand process.
If you can hellp me past this last little bump, then I think I will be able to use these skills in Sooo many different areas of my design.
Here's what I've got so far:
A. In the select statement I identify the javascript as:
onClick="javascript:connect_port('<font color=blue>''||ID||''</font>')";
B. In my javascript I have this:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function connect_port(ID)
var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=CONNECT_PORT',0);
gReturn = get.get();
get = null;
</script>
C. In my on demand function I have this:
BEGIN
INSERT INTO CCONNECTIONS_B
BLDG_ID,CLST_ID,PORT_ID,STRAND_ID
) VALUES
:P2004_BLDG_ID,:P2004_CLST_ID,:P2004_PORT_ID,:P2004_STRAND_ID1
END;
You can see that I dont know how to use the value for 'ID' in either the javascript or the On-Process function.
If you can help me out with this one, Then I can imitate it for the rest.
-Gary

Change max. size of a page process
Hi,
i have a problem with creating a page process. I try to create a page process with a size more than the max. size 30 KB. Is it possible to change this value to a higher mark?
thanks for help"user508335",
1) There is no way around this. That's a limitation imposed by modplsql.
2) Justin's recommendation is sound. There are many benefits behind implementing this as a PL/SQL package. My rule of thumb is usually, if I have more than 2x the size of the textarea to edit the process, I immediately consider a PL/SQL package.

Calling stored procedure from page process and PLS-00049 error?
Good morning guys!
I'm dealing with several problems this morning! The one that I need to deal with first is the following.
I created the page process (see below: 1st code) in order to validate if all records where LNG_GEBIET matches have the status 3 or 4. If that is the case I want to call the procedure "set_status_arbeit_zu_gebiet". If amountrs and countstat do not match, then nothing is supposed to be done.
The problem lies within the stored procedure itself. I receive a PLS-00049 bind variable error for :new.LNG_GEBIET.
Can you please tell me what I forgot to declare in code 2 below???
Thank you guys!
The page process:
Declare
amountrs number;
countstat number;
begin
SELECT COUNT(*) INTO amountrs FROM TBL_PUNKTDATEN where LNG_GEBIET = :P4_CNT_GEBIET;
SELECT COUNT(*) INTO countstat FROM TBL_PUNKTDATEN where LNG_GEBIET = :P4_CNT_GEBIET and INT_STATUS = 3 or LNG_GEBIET = :P4_CNT_GEBIET and INT_STATUS = 4;
IF amountrs = countstat THEN
set_status_arbeit_zu_gebiet;
ELSE
dbms_output.put('nothing');
END IF ;
end;Code 2 with the true problem!
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE set_status_arbeit_zu_gebiet
IS
cursor c2 is select LNG_GEBIET from TBL_ARBEIT_ZU_GEBIET where PNUM = 1114 and LNG_GEBIET=:new.LNG_GEBIET;
v_c2 c2%ROWTYPE;
BEGIN
open c2;
fetch c2 into v_c2;
if c2%notfound then
INSERT INTO TBL_ARBEIT_ZU_GEBIET
LNG_GEBIET,
LNG_ARBEITSSCHRITT,
PNUM,
INT_BEARBEITER,
DATE_DATUM,
GEPL_DATUM
VALUES
(:new.LNG_GEBIET,
52,
1114,
895,
sysdate,
to_date('01.01.1990', 'DD.MM.YYYY')
commit;
close c2;
END set_status_arbeit_zu_gebiet;One more question: Is it possible to integrate the first validation that calls my stored procedure into code 2?
Thanks for you time!
SebastianThe error is in following statement:
INSERT INTO TBL_ARBEIT_ZU_GEBIET ( ... ) VALUES ( :new.LNG_GEBIET, ... );
As the statement is part of a procedure and not trigger so it is not able to bind this variable with any value.
As a resolution, pass this value to the procedure from the process and use it in the insert statement.
The process will have following IF statement:_
IF amountrs = countstat THEN
set_status_arbeit_zu_gebiet *(:P4_CNT_GEBIET)*;
ELSE
dbms_output.put('nothing');
END IF ;
and the procedure will be as follows:_
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE set_status_arbeit_zu_gebiet *(p_lng_gebit varchar2)*
IS
cursor c2 is select LNG_GEBIET from TBL_ARBEIT_ZU_GEBIET where PNUM = 1114 and LNG_GEBIET= --:new.LNG_GEBIET-- p_lng_gebit ;
v_c2 c2%ROWTYPE;
BEGIN
INSERT INTO TBL_ARBEIT_ZU_GEBIET ( ... )
VALUES
( --:new.LNG_GEBIET-- p_lng_gebit, ... );
END set_status_arbeit_zu_gebiet; -

Invoking page process using AJAX
Hi,
Is it possible to invoke page process using AJAX, just like I can do it with application processes?
Regards,
PrzemekHi,
Could you not have a application process that does an execute immediate on a block of PL/SQL? This way in your app process you could extract the code from your page process.
So your code would like something like:
SELECT region_source
INTO v_plsql_source
FROM apex_application_page_regions
WHERE source_type = 'PL/SQL'
AND application_id = :app_id
AND page_id = :app_page_id
AND static_id = :your_static_id; -- or you could reference from region name etc...
execute immediate (v_plsql_source);
I'm not sure if you'll have any issue with bind variables in v_plsql_source

Catching errors on procedures inside page process.
Good Afternoon, my apex teachers.
I have a doubt on my page process, hope you guys can help.
I have a page process that executes a pl/sql block on page submit.
On this pl/sql block there is a call to a stored procedure.
What I want to do is, when this procedure, that is called inside the pl/sql
block, does not execute properly, my page process uses his error message
instead of his success message. Is that possible?
Thanks for all the help.
Regards, Leandro Freitas.Well..i thing i can help.
1.Create a hidden field with name PHiddenMsg.
2. On your block
DECLARE
err_code varchar2(100);
err_msg varchar2(200);
BEGIN
-- Your procedure call
PROC_ABC(.....);
Exception when others then
err_code := SQLCODE;
err_msg := substr(SQLERRM, 1, 200);
:PHiddenMsg := err_code || err_msg; --> you decide what to show
end;3. Put the field PHiddenMsg(&PHiddenMsg.) in the error message.
Yes?

Hello,
I want to call a plugin of type process from page 0. Is there a possibility to do this?
(APEX 4.0.2)
Thank you,
KirstenHi Patrick,
I use the plugin "(IR) Report to Excel (xlsx)" which I found in APEX-PLUGIN.com I did some adaptations to do the output on multiple sheets.
I expanded the action menu of interactive reports by the point "Download to xlsx" (dynamic action on page 0).
Everthing works great if I include the plugin on a page. The only problem is, as described above, that I don't want to include the plugin manually on every page.
Now I try, as proposed, to put the code into a package but by now I wasn't successful.
Best regards,
Kirsten

Difference between processes in the page rendering and in page processing ?
db11gxe and apex 4.0 ,
hi all ,
i am confused about the difference of the processes in these two columns , what is the diff ?
the same "Select the category of the process you wish to create:"? there is no difference i can see ?
so what is the diff again ?
thanksNewbi_egy
Yes. There are process types that are specific for the page processing or page submit phase and not the page rendering phase.
Just as there are process type that are specific for page rendering and not for page submit.
And there is even a process type that is specific for the user interaction phase. Namely the "Run On Demand Process"
But I don't understand what there is to exclaim about
1. to cry out or speak suddenly and vehemently, as in surprise, strong emotion, or protest.
2. to cry out; say loudly or vehemently.

I understand that it can be confusing at first. That you get the same wizard and the same options for process types no matter which process point you have chosen. But if you start building your pages using the wizard to create forms and reports. The process needed for those regions to work are automatically created. Showing you what the correct display point is for them.

Make CF process .CSS pages on apache
Hello,
I read a previous post stating that it was possible to have
ColdFusion process .CSS pages. I'm not able to find any
documentation to do this on IIS or Apache. Does anyone have a URL
explaining this process?
If possible, I'd also like to somehow cache the .CSS so it's
not reloaded for each page load. Is this possible using CFHeader or
some other method? Currently I've just renamed the .CSS file to
.CFM, which makes me wonder if there's a way to get around having
to double pound all of the CSS values.
EDIT: I'm using CF 7.02.TESTotnes wrote:

Anyway... Thank you for your answer, I'm just beginning, so this is all a learning curve. I've been changing the CSS as I go along, rather than inserting an external stylesheet, do I need to insert an external one for it to work?
You may need to explain it like I'm 5 Sorry!
If you change the css in your index.html file how does it change in the about_us.html...if you have no externally linked css file .........can't work that one out.
If you have no linked external stylesheet and the css is embedded at the top of each page then it can't change in another page?
