On hold 45 mins-completely unnacceptable.

My husband just called VZW over an issue. He was just on hold for over 45 mins. From the time they put him on hold, til he talked to another person, 45 mins. How is that even ACCEPTABLE? That is DISGUSTING.

Good evening and thank you all for your replies. I know how frustrating it can be experiencing long hold times.  We try our best to serve our customers in a timely matter and do provide you with other alternatives in contacting us. Keep in mind you can tweet us @VZWSupport where we are available Monday-Friday 7AM-PM CST and  Saturday AM-PM CST. • Broken SIM card slot tray holder - N97 mini

I've got my N97 mini since several years ago, and now I meet a problem. I was trying to put my micro-sim with a adapter in it to check if it works, but unfortunately, when I was pulling it out, it got stuck. Then I used a little bit force. However, after it successfully came out, I suddenly found that the SIM card slot tray holder bended and was a total mess.
Have anyone else experienced like this? How and where to repair it in VIC? And how much does it cost?
Thanks for all the guys who answer me! ^ ^

    hi mate,
Oh no. Did the same thing with my N8 a few years back and had to have it replaced at a Nokia Care point. I really feel for you buddy as it is quite catastrophic and can damage the phone. Your best bet is to actually follow the Nokia Care procedures on the Nokia Australia website. All the Nokia Care points across Australia have closed down (here in Perth, and one I saw in Melbourne on that main street near the main railway station, Flinders is it called, that one is closed down too). Therefore the procedure is that you have to send it off to Rydlemere in NSW where they will assess whether they can repair then mail it back to you.

  • URGENT HELP! My mini completely died!!!

I was in the process of transfering some music files to my external hard drive and all of a sudden its power cut off completely! All of the other things plugged through the surge protector did not cut off so its not a power issue on that end. I tried unplugging everything and plugging back in, and messing with the power input jack but no luck. Does anyone at all have any expierience with this problem, I have work that I need it for, this is urgent! Is my mini toast or is there something I can do? Plugged into it currently is broadband, power cable, vga moniter, firewire solo recording interface, maxtor 200 gig external usb hard drive and a belkin usb hub with my keyboard, printer, and m-audio keystation. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Well, I ended up taking the mini to the Apple store in Tysons Corner. Not only was it an hour and a half drive from my home (which isn't a real problem except annoyance) once I got there, I had to wait for about an hour before my name was called, about 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment. When I finally was called I got a "genius" who grabbed my computer, plugged it in, said it would have to stay there and would not answer any question I had with more than a word or two. If this is the way Apple treats their customers, it's not a very good business practice.
To put a long story short, I still have no idea what is wrong with my mini even after speaking with a "genius". He gave no potential answers or seemed to care at all, I just signed a paper, he threw it on the shelf and said come back in 7 days. That's it.
After all this, with terrible customer service/appreciation AND faulty equipment on a machine that's only a few months old and supposed to be quite reliable, my confidence in Apple computers has been shaken if not destroyed. Once I get the mini back I may infact sell it in the local classifieds and put it towards a nice Windows laptop. This mini was to be used for my small business I'm starting up at the beggining of the summer, but now I don't know if it will work or break down unexpectedly again. Anyway, sorry to release my steam, I just wanted to let everyone know a "genius" is now on the job...

  • Mac Mini - complete reset

Hi, i have a mac mini that i have been usign for a few months and now i am going to give it to a family member.
Is there a way to set it back to its out of the box settings, where it will a the next user for an account? And what is the best way to remove all the changes and file i may have made?
    Thanks
    M

For a true out-of-the-box experience, use the install disk that came with it. Insert into the drive, click the option to instaLL MasOS and all the applications, then select the erase and install option from the 'customize' button. This will reformat the drive and install a completely new copy of MacOS and all the original software, and when rebooted after that, will run through the same set up dialog as it did when it was new.
Of course, this erases all data, music, files, software that you may have put on the system. If you prefer not to do that, you can select the 'archive and install' option, which retains previous contents while archiving a copy of the original MacOS install in case anything is needed, and creates a new one.

  • Hold switch is completely dead

I recently installed my new 3rd party battery, but the hold switch doesn't work. My mini is stuck on hold every since I replaced it. I tried every possible mention of getting rid of the hold (reset, restore, depleting the battery then recharging it.) Is there any possible way to get rid of the lock besides of shipping my mini to Apple?
    Thanks in advance.

  • 2nd gen mini completely dead, does nothing

The other day I plugged my iPod in to charge it. I noticed the lightning bolt charging icon. About 10 min. later when I looked at it, the screen was blank. When I looked at iTunes, I noticed it had not reverted to the screen it usually does whenever I plug the iPod in, nor was my iPod showing up in the left hand column like it usually does when charging. I tried turning the iPod on and nothing happened. I tried restarting the computer. Still nothing happened. The iPod does not show up in My Computer. I've tried resetting by holding Select and Menu at the same time. Several times. Nothing. Even tried giving it a good whack on the desk as suggested in another thread, but still no luck. My current iTunes version is 7.0.2.16. I have tried downloading the last few times an update was available and always get an error message when I triedto run the application, so I've not been able to update to the current version. I am trying one more time as I type this up, but this may be a separate problem for another forum. Anyway... any suggestions on what else I can try? Thinking that I might need to uninstall and try re-installing the whole thing, but would rather try other options first if any exist. Thanks.

So after trying various and sundry things gleaned from scouring topics and websites I have made a tiny bit of progress. Perhaps.... I now can get the apple icon to show up and the sad ipod icon with the exclamation point and then the charging icon, which never shows any further than 1/4 charged. I couldn't get anything at all before, which is why I'm considering this progress. Oh, and I was FINALLY able to update itunes to the most current version. Beyond that, I still can't get my ipod on and usable or get my computer to recognize when its plugged in.

  • Mac Mini, complete home station

When is Mac going to capitalize on what the mini is and include a blu ray player, applet tv software, and wireless base station capability all in one tidy package?!

You already have the "wireless base station" built in.
Make sure you're connected to a wired network, then click the Wi-Fi icon in the menubar, click Create Network, and do that. Or you could always go to System Preferences, click Sharing and turn on Internet Sharing. Either way's fine.
And there's always Blu-Ray via internal upgrades or external drives.
And there's always Front Row (or XBMC, Google it) instead of the tv software.
And the company's not called Mac. It's called Apple. They make computers called Macs. Get it right...

  • Battery only holds 10 mins?

Well yesterday i charged my Ipod all the way up and then left the house. 10 mins into using it (about 3 songs) it had a full battery in the top right of the screen but a no battery symbol came up and then it turned off. Then i can turn it back on and it will work for a little bit then it turns off with that dead battery symbol? What should i do? I called apple and they told me they can't talk to me on the phone unless i'm within the 90 days of purchase. I haven't even had the ipod for a year tho. Thanks for any help! -Chase

I had the same problem so i brought a new ipod battery of ebay for about £10 but now im not sure how to change the battery into the ipod!

  • HT1725 Is it possible to change my security question answers? I forgot mine completely

Is it possible to change my security question answers? I forgot mine completely

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • IPad Mini completely ran out of battery and now wont turn on at all, even after being on charge for a number of hours. What can I do?

My iPad mini ran out of battery yesterday and now won't turn on at all. How do I resolve this?

When the battery goes flat it can 15 to 20 minutes of charging to then be able to get a response from it, but if you've charged it for longer than that they it should have picked up some charge. Have you got a different charger or cable that you could try just in case there is a problem with either of those - an iPhone or iPod charger will work with the iPad, but as they are lower power will take longer.

  • Is there a way of installing 10.4.2 on a Mac mini without password?

I am trying to help a friend who purchased a Mac mini from a relative a few years ago.
The OS needs reinstalling (too many faults to mention). I have the original install disc 1 and 2, but every time i try installing, the administrator password is needed. Unfortunately the first owner did not keep a record of it (all alternatives given have failed).
Is there a way of installing the OS without the administrator's password?
As a final attempt, i am a bit worried to erase all volumes using disc utility, because this might turn the mini completely useless if the OS will not install afterwards.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Um, I can't specifically answer that because I don't have a FV master password set and I am reluctant to set one just to see if I can unset it. I would think that if you do have one set it would only be requested if you were doing something related to FV. If you could provide cases where you are being asked for a password it might help us track down the reason. I am mostly asked for a password when I am adding software to the computer or doing some other administrative task. In that case it is asking for my admin password. The FV one I think is only as a backdoor to a FV account in case somebody has forgotten their password.

  • How to "hold" G/L Account Document?

I use T-CODE F-02 to Enter G/L Account Document.I want to hold current document and input tomorrow again. So I select the menu Document->Hold.But the sap show the error message like below.
Is there any one could tell me how to resolve the problem or give me some advice?I will appreciate him/her very much.Thank you.
    error message:
Held documents must be converted; read long text
    Message no. F5410
    Diagnosis
The structure of the document data has changed in the meantime. Before new documents can be held or held documents can be processed, the documents held up to now must be converted.
    Procedure
The conversion of the held documents is carried out by report RFTMPBLU . For larger data volumes (more than a couple of hundred held documents), the report should be planned as a batch job.
The conversion of held documents is generally supported for documents which were entered in release 1.3A or later.
A conversion of older held documents is not possible. You must delete these documents with the report RFTMPBLD . Afterwards, you must start the report RFTMPBLU to activate the version management for held documents.
If only small datasets are to be converted or deleted, you can carry out the action in another window and after completing the action, continue the current processing.

    Hi,
In the new versions from SAP (ERP 2004 and ERP 2005) There are 2 versions to keep documents:
    Parked documents.
Hold documents. (this is not the option Hold data, from system / user profile / hold data)
For completing them there are special transactions. The best is to use one of these options (I use parked documents) otherwise it is difficult to found documents back. This is the reason to for the coversion question

  • I photo 11 version 9.4.3 maximum photos it will hold

i photo 11 version 9.4.3 maximum photos it will hold? Mine keeps reseting.

iPhoto 11 v9.4.3 uses the same library as Aperture 3 and so holds the same amount as Aperture 3 - 1,000,000 items.
From iPhoto 6 up to that it holds 250,000
Prior to iPhoto 6 the limit was 25,000
Your problem has nothing to do with numbers.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Mini stopped recognizing thunderbolt external drive

I bought a Mini just a couple weeks ago and a LaCie 2big Thunderbolt drive. It's been working flawlessly, but today it doesn't recognize the drive and doesn't recognize even having Thunderbolt support and I can find nothing on Lacie's site or Apple's regarding this issue.

    Hi John,
It sounds like you may have some sort of motherboard issue?
    As I'm using Thunderbolt too.....
From my experience having intermittent USB/Firewire ports I would suggest to do the following:
    1) Shut down your whole system including the Lacie TB drive.
    2) Pull out the power cables from both your computer and Lacie unit. Pull out any USB cables from the Mini as well. Leave the system powered off for at least 30 minutes before plugging it all in and starting the computer.
    If the above fails:
    3) Try a PRAM reset on the Mini by shutting off the Mac first, then holding Command, Option, P & R keys together while pressing the power button to restart it. Let go of the keys on the second chime. Failing that....
    4) With the power cables unplugged, try to hold the Mini's power button down for 10 seconds. Then replug everything in and restart the system.
    5) Check if you have the Thunderbolt update installed on Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1451
    Hope that helps.
