Online Archives for Outlook 2013 do not appear in Outlook 2013 running on Terminal Server

Hello,
We are currently attempting to get our users away from using PST files and instead use the Personal Online Archive feature but have come across a problem
Environment
Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Server)
Office 2013
Citrix 6.5 XenApp
So on the Exchange side I went through the steps of setting up my PST use as a guinea pig for testing.  I was able to setup the Archive database, enable archiving on my mailbox, and import my PST into the Archive database.
I then opened Outlook 2013 on my stand-alone PC and there was my Online Archive. Great!
I then double checked and also saw it on the OWA site on the Exchange server.  Super!
I finally logged into our RDS (Terminal) server and opened Outlook 2013 there.  But the Online archive was not there.  Hmmm..
I did some researching and this article about Outlook 2010 suggested it was a permission issue:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/1e8d5d4b-e26b-4be6-b646-eb6e796c6295/exchange-2010-mail-archive-missing-in-outlook-2010-shows-in-owa?forum=outlook
So I ran through those steps in Powershell but no change.
I also don't think it's a licensing issue because the license I have on my stand-alone PC is the same volume license keys (MAK) as on my Terminal Server.
Soo... I'm a bit stuck and was hoping for some help.  I can't proceed with migrating other PST files to the online archive until I get this resolved.
Thanks

Hi,
In theory,
Outlook reads the
msExchDelegateLink attribute of the user in AD to display the additional mailbox (Online Archive folder).
Since the standalone client can display the archive mailbox properly, it seems this attribute is available in AD. I suspect the issue locates on the way that the terminal
clients access the server. I suggest we check whether the client has properly permission to connect to AD when accessing remotely.
Thanks,

  • Sync calendar entries not appearing in outlook 2010

    Hi there,
I'd be grateful for any help on this one as I'm just bout pulling my hair out.
Basically, when I sync calendars on my iPad 3 using iTunes, the entries do not appear anywhere in Outlook 2010 which is my default mail/calendar client.
    My setup is as follows:
I have iCloud enabled on my iPad, but for some reason I have some of my calendar entries on the iCloud calendar and some on the calendar on the iPad itself.  I thought the easiest way to sort everything out would be to get the entries stored on the iPad onto my PC, then I could easily copy them into iCloud using Outlook.
Within Outlook I have a number of calendars under the main Calendar folder shown in the navigation pane.  Some of these calendars are also on the iPad.
As I had multiple calendars with the same name 'Calendar', I thought it would make things easier if I renamed the calendars on the device.  In this case, I renamed the calendar which has the entries I want on my PC to Calendar1.  When I sync with iTunes and select Calendar1 to be synced, this does not appear in Outlook.  Even if I create an empty Calendar1 in Outlook, the entries are still not being copied over.
I'm running Windows 7 64-Bit, iTunes 11 and iOS 6.12.  I have changed the backup option in iTunes to use my computer instead of iCloud.  This made no difference.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Hussein.

    Hi there,
As a follow up to the previous post I disabled iCloud and opted to keep all items on my iPad thinking that I'd rather have too much data than too litt.e  I then did an iTunes sync which replicated a lot of data in Outlook, but the renamed calendar still isn't being synced over or the entries that have been added to it.  I put in a test entry on the iPad and it's going into the renamed calendar1 but not showing up in Outlook.
Any further tips.  I've tried installing OpenSSL as advised on another Apple support KB article but this has no effect.
Thanks for any advice on this.
All the best for now and take care.
    Hussein.

  • Exchange 2013 mailboxes not accessible in outlook

    Hi,
In the middle of migration from one exchange 2010 server to 2013 server and thought things were going well.  However migrated mailboxes to exchange 2013 are not accessible through outlook although they are through OWA most of the time.
I ran test connectivity comandlet on 2013 server on mailboxes and they tested okay.
However when you connect to mailbox it says exchange unavailable.
I have a new ucc certificate on the exchange 2013 server that includes mail.contoso.com and autodiscover.contoso.com.  These are both setup to point to 2013 server with split brain dns.  The 2010 server has a certificate for mail.contoso.com.
The SC for autodiscovery right now for both the exchange 2010 and 2013 servers are https://mail.contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
When I run outlook connectivity test I get the following failure:

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that Outlook client cannot connect to Exchange server 2013 while one member of DAG failed.
If I have misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
I want to double confirm whether all account store in MBX1 experience this issue, users in MBX2 works fine.
Please run following command to double check the database status:
    Get-MailboxDatabase –Status | select Name,Mounted,MountedOnServer
If it works in OWA, the issue may be related to Outlook side. Please run “Test E-mail AutoConfiguration” and “Outlook Connection Status” to get more details, expecial the setting of proxy server, it’s more helpful

  • Contacts Added in iPhone Not Appearing in Outlook 2007

When I add new contacts on the iPhone and then sync with Outlook 2007 the newly added contacts are not appearing in Outlook. What is to be done? Please help.

Make sure when you go to add the contact that your contact list group filter is set to "All "Exchange account name"" or Contacts under your Exchange account info. If it is selected to "All Contacts" and you add a contact it is added only to the phone and not to the Exchange Group.
When you are viewing your contact list what does it say at the top of the screen? If it says "All Contacts" it will only add the contact to the phone and not to Exchange. Kind of dumb if you ask me.

  • Presence not appearing in Outlook 2013

I have a user who is running Lync 2013 and Outlook 2013 (lync 2010 server/exchange 2010). The presence for other individuals shows correctly in Lync, however they all appear as white boxes in Outlook. We have tried everything from Repair, new profile, editing
some registry lines and made sure that the "Display online status next to name" option is selected. Nothing seems to work. We can attempt a complete reinstall of Office, but I'd like to look for other options before we take that route.
As a side note, we've had this happen in the past, and running Outlook with the /cleanfreebusy switch resolved it. For some reason, MSoft has decided to retire that switch in Outlook 2013.

    Hi,
Please first make sure the user's Lync 2013 has installed latest update.
Which registry key did you check? The registry key related to presence is:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers]
    "DefaultIMApp"="Lync"
    and
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers\Lync]
    "ProcessId"=dword:00002458
    "UpAndRunning"=dword:00000002
    For more information, please refer:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rathomas/archive/2012/12/04/outlook-2013-users-are-unable-to-see-the-presence-info-in-outlook.aspx
In addition, if the domain name in the Email and IM address fields were
different than the SIP address for this contact in the Lync address book, this issue may occur. You can refer to the following blog and look at the 'Out-of-Date Outlook Contacts' section:
    http://blog.insidelync.com/2013/09/lync-2013-presence-issues/
If the problem is as described in the blog, please try to correct the email and IM address in the Outlook contact and sign out and back in to the Lync 2013 client to resolve the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Online Archive for Shared Mailbox Shows Main Mailbox SMTP Address, Not Shared Mailbox

First off, we are running Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010.  Exchange is running SP3UR5 and is stable.  Outlook has the latest updates.
We have archive mailboxes on all our production mailboxes.  We automatically archive items older than two years into these.  We have several colleagues who have access to one or more shared mailboxes, who had no issues when they were using a Windows
XP workstation.  However, when they were moved to our Windows 7 systems, their archive folders all show their primary mailbox SMTP address. If you click on a folder in the archive mailbox, the search bar shows the correct mailbox name. And to confuse
things just a little bit more, the primary mailbox for these shared mailboxes shows the correct name.  Has anyone else seen this, and, more importantly, does anyone know of a solution? TIA ...

    Hello Willard,
As Andy mentioned, this issue is a known issue which resolved in Exchange 2010 SP3 RU2. I know we are currently running Exchange 2010 SP3 RU5, however to resolve
the issue, we need to install hotfix for Outlook clients as well. Please refer to the following hotfixes for Outlook 2010 and 2013:
Note: Exchange 2010 SP3 Ru2 or later will update the “OwnerSmtpAddress”
for all alternate mailbox. And before applying the following Outlook hotfix, we should have RU2 installed first.
    Outlook 2010 hotfix:
Description of the Outlook 2010 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): August 13, 2013
    http://support.microsoft.com/KB/2817574
Issue description: You connect to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 mailbox
by using Microsoft Outlook 2010. When you enable the feature that lets you view the online archive of a manager in Outlook 2010, two online archives that have the same name are displayed. To resolve this issue, you must also have Exchange Server 2010 Service
    Pack 3 (SP3) Update Rollup 2 installed
    Outlook 2013 hotfix:
Description of the Outlook 2013 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): August 13, 2013
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2817503
Issue description: When you enable the feature to see the online archive
of the manager in Outlook 2010, two online archives that have the same name are displayed.
After apply both update for Exchange server and Outlook client, the issue will be resolved accordingly. And I recommend to install the latest updates for Outlook
    clients:
Title: How to install the latest applicable updates for Microsoft Outlook (US English only)
    Link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2625547
Moreover, the issue will affect the “auto-mapping” archive mailboxes, since the issue only affect few users, please check the differences on the Outlook client side,
and make sure the version and patches/updates are the same. If needed, we can first remove the auto-mapping full access permission, then re-add non-auto-mapping full access permission, at last, add
additional mailbox from Outlook manually, thus it will not diplay same name for the archive mailbox we access.
    Remove the full access permission:
    Remove-MailboxPermission –Identity “Shared_mailbox” –User “affected_user_mailbox” –AccessRights FullAccess
2.Re-add the full access permission with non-auto-mapping:
    Add-MailboxPermission -Identity “Shared_mailbox”
    -User “affected_user_mailbox”
-AccessRight FullAccess -InheritanceType All -Automapping $false
       3. Then on the affected user mailbox outlook side,
    add additional mailbox manually.
Please refer to above information and if anything unclear, feel free to let me know.

  • Acrobat XI PDF Add-ins do not appear in Office 2013

I just installed Acrobat XI on a computer with Win7 and Office 2013. The program works fine but I have been unable to get the add-ins to appear in the apps. I had previously done  the  same installation on another computer of mine and all works fine. I have spent at least 10 hours trying everything I could find online and in the forums with no success.
I have unistalled and reinstalled Acrobat. I have done a total repair on Office. The results are always the same.
In Outlook, the pdf maker is shown as disabled. I click to enable it and then restart. It still does not appear and the pdf add-in is again shown as disabled. I removed the add in and then manually added it back. Same results.
In other apps (e.g. Word), the pdf maker is shown as enabled but it does not appear on the toolbar. Again, on these apps, I've tried unchecking and checking (restarting in between) with no luck. And have also deleted the add in and then manually put it back in. No success.
I also repeated all of the above by starting applications as adminstrator thinking that would make a difference. No success.
I've tried using the registry editor regsrv32 to install the .dll file but I only get errors.
I suppose there could be some registry entries that need to be deleted, but I don't have a clue which ones or where to look.
I can't find anything else to try! Any suggestions will be helpful!

I suspect you have AA 11.0.0. Update the product. OFFICE 2013 came out after AA XI and you need an update for opertion. I understand that AA XI has beeen updated to work with OFFICE 2013. In the meantime, just print to the Adobe PDF printer.

  • 8830 messages on handheld do not appear in Outlook 2007

I have just one user who is using an 8830 world edition.  Random messages will appear on his handheld but not in his Outlook in box.  There are no filters or rules in place on his account either in outlook or on the Exchange 2007 server.  IT policies in the BES server match those of all other users.  An attempt to forward the message from the handheld to anyone results in the error that the message has been deleted with the Red X.  It is not alwasy the same sender that gets dropped.  This has been happening for about 2 months now.  I really need to know where to go next.
    Thanks

If you open the message with the red X, what is the message status at the top?
Have you done any troubleshooting already, like wiping and reactivating the device, or removing and readding his account on the BES, or anything??

  • Outlook contact groups not appearing in iTunes Sync

I was having trouble getting contact groups to appear in iTunes froma outlook. For awhile I got 1 group to appear and no others. I expermentally deleted that group and it remained while nothing else showed up. Apple support had no idea what to do and I stumbled upon a solution eventually. Since other people seem to have had a similar problem judging from the forums I thought I'd post my fix if nothing else is working for you.
When you create a new group in MSoutlook (by right clicking and selecting new folder) in order to keep your contacts orginized it makes that folder in a subfolder of whichever folder you clicked on. This doesn't display in MSoffice at all, all folders simply appear in a straight line with no way for you to tell where they are. The issue is that if you have these groups in any other directory besides Contacts they will not appear in iTunes. In my case everything was a subfolder under Suggested Contacts. In order to fix/check this simply click on your groups 1 at a time and select the "move folder" option, select Contacts, then hit OK. Rinse and repeat until all your folders are filed under contacts.
Once you've completed that open iTunes, go into the info tab of your device, and sync contacts with outlook. Just select sync all if nothing appears. After the sync all your groups should appear below for you to pick and choose which groups you'd like to upload. I hope this helps.
This fix was using Office 2010 on Windows 7 (64-bit) with iTunes 10.5.2.11

    Hi,
I would like to create two folders - one for me and one for my wife. So under 'My Contacts' in Outlook 2010 it looks like this:
    Suggested contacts
    Contacts
    Suggested contacts (email address)
    Simon's contacts
    Julie's contacts
iTunes has picked up these sub-folders - THANKS!
However, I would like to keep the 'Contacts' folder with all the contacts in and only copy selected contacts from there and place them into my wife's folder and mine. The 'copy' function does not seem to work.
Obviously my contacts are different to my wife's and she does not want hundreds of names on her contact list.
So, basically how do I copy contacts without moving them out of the contacts folder and manually typing them all back in my wife's folder (some contacts we both need)?
Hope you can help on this one.
    Many thanks,
    Simon

  • Shared 2010 Calendar Color Categories not appearing in Outlook 2007

I have a SBS 2003 (exchange 2007) environment wih a mixed Outlook use between 2007 and 2010. One 2010 Outlook client has shared a calendar to several 2007 users and they swear that when they received the email invite to view this shared 2010 calendar, the
color categories list in their Outlook changed to match the shared calendar without any interaction from the users. A new hire was given the same invite to view this shared calendar, she accepted, the calendar is visible however, the color categories
    are not appearing.
I've tried setting an appointment in the 2010 Outlook shared calendar with all the color categories in the list, then going to the client's 2007 Outlook and updating the color categories in her mailbox but nothing changes.
I've read about 20-30 blogs, tech form and MS tech answers on this subject and I get conflicting solutions. One states that you can't transfer the master color category list, you have to change it on each Outlook client while others state the use of an appointment
and upgrading the categories from the properties in the client's mailbox (which didn't work) or using a third party add-in to manage a "Master Color Category list" (which costs money). I would like a straight answer to my question, which is,
"why can't the Outlook 2007 client see the color categories in the 2010 shared calendar?" and "How to I fix this?".
This questions has been asked in so many different ways that I'm not sure if someone will help me without having to call MS support and pay for it. This has got to have a simple solution that I don't need to pay for it, yes?
    Anyone, please help me.....

Hey mate i had the same issue and was dumb founded till i came up with a solution that worked for me, and possibly someone out there looking for the same solution. Half the info i looked up was all bullshit and took me months to come up with a fix as
    im busy with other priorities.
still busy so ill be quick...and not gonna get too technical just gonna lay it all out in steps
    1. create a mail account in exchange eg.
    [email protected]
    2. log into the account through outlook and share the calendars you set up.
    3. go to the exchange management console on the 'server ' right click the created
[email protected] mailbox > manage full access permissions> and start adding the users who need access. (only thing that worked for me)
    4. close and reopen outlook on the users computer and then you should see the colour co-ordinated catergories that you assigned for scheduling that they can all access and book appointments in a easy colour co-ordinated layout.
if it dosent show up try - *on the users computer* start >run>cmd>gpupdate/force
this will force the update on some computer that didnt show up with the effect. only had this problem with 1 user and this fixed it :)
hopefully this idea helps you! as it did me cause no geek out there never gave me this easy fix option, instead right properties and blah blah blah technical crap that dosent work, wankers!
    thanks :)
P.S this worked between 2010 and 2007 microsoft outlook

  • Appointments inserted in calendar on Q10 not appearing in Outlook

    Hello
Our company recently updated their handsets to the Q10.  On each, we have set up the person's Outlook account using Microsoft Activesync.  We use Exchange Server 2010.
If a person puts an appointment in their calendar in Outlook 2010, it immediately appears on their Q10.
It is a wireless, not wired, sync.
If they put an appointment in their calendar on their Q10, however, it is not syncing with their Outlook calendar.
is there a fix for this, or is this facility not available on the Q10?
We do not wish to use Blackberry Link/wired sync to resolve this problem.
Apologies if this query has been resolved elsewhere on this forum.
