Online Music Service Quest
Rhapsody, Yahoo, Napster etc.. all have "to go" subscription services. They say you can download as much as you want to your player for whatever price per month.
My question is, is it possible to sign up for one month and download everything you would possibly want to your player and then cancel the service? I am about to buy a new CL player for this reason if thats the case. I have an Ipod mini but of course it doesn't work with those services.
Yup, that's why it's called Subscription music. Once you end the subscription service, the license within those audio file will expire and won't be playable. If subscription music isn't your cup of tea, you can always opt for pay-per download music which you will be able to keep those music.

Hello, I've tried to reinstall the desktop manager, formatted the 16GB Media Card, in the Memory section of the Options (Compression - Disabled, Media Card Support - On, Media Transfer Protocol - On, Mass Storage Mode - On, Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connnected - Yes).
I can sync Pictures, Videos, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks. However, when I select Music from Media Sync I get "Music Services Failed to Load "An unexpected error occurred."

What are other online music stores? No iTunes access. Microsoft-esque Apple
Yesterday I was greeted with an iTunes screen TELLING me to upgrade and denying me access to our account, in effect my account is being held hostage. We operate iTunes on a computer the whole family uses. We don't want to use iTunes7 - Don't want the kids to access to some of the services inherent with iTunes 6&7 and don't want to upgrade QT on the family system as it'll mess up some existing software the kids enjoy.
We have asked that access to our family account (and our existing store credit) be restablished to the same state it was just days ago when everything worked just fine.
In the event we are not given access to our account we will have to do our music shopping elsewhere. I'm looking for pointers to other online music sources. Any direction, links, suggestion will be most appreciated.
Feeling truly alienated by iTunes Store.Is everyone on this board so iTunes reliant as to have no knowledge of enjoyable, postive experiences with non-Apple online music stores??
Geez, this has only served to further fuel my desire to terminate using the iTunes store. -

USELESS ONLINE HELP FACILITIES
For all the amazing productivity aids that APPLE offers the world I have to report that their online support service is worse than useless and has recently been the source of immense time wasting and irritation.
Incident 1. Since many months attempts to download new and updated APPs produced a response – Apple ID Disabled. I had no time to consult an APPLE Store due to work in distant lands. When I finally visited yesterday I was told that as my IPAD has been reported as stolen, and APPLE in its wisdom had blocked its usage! I am not sure how they became so misinformed and nobody every advised me while with a few swift moves APPLE could have located me by email address or SKYPE.
Incident 2. Once the above anomaly had been fixed I tried to down load a newspaper and diligently input my address, credit card number and personal data. Repeatedly I was advised that my Credit Card was invalid and my postal code was incorrect! Really!
I was left to guess that having moved from UK to the US I should have advised APPLE! Not being told of this requirement brought about a second visit to APPLE Store in the same day to waste both mine and their time with a routine anomaly. How parochial in the context of a globalized world!
In each case I tried to resolve the issues using online access to a help line and by calling by phone at the numbers on the APPLE Website. In each of four separate occasions I diligently went through the routine and ended up with a message that thanked me for contacting Apple followed by a polite ‘Good Bye’!
In desperation I went to an Apple Store for the second time in a day as it is close to where I live when I am not working. On both occasions I was courteously attended to by Apple Staff.
However, my work is usually far away from the US and it is generally many thousands of miles to the nearest Apple Store therefore online help is viewed as imperative if one is to resolve issues away from home.
Why can Apple not provide a clearly marked EMAIL address and Telephone number at a Help Desk with real people to respond to requests for help? It would cost nothing in relative terms and might restore my high level of anti-APPLE sentiment that these two recent events have provoked.

If that is your question, the answer is at the bottom right of this web page. It is clearly marked "Contact Us" and is the best way, really the only way, to contact Apple.
If there were a publicly posted email address for concerns such as yours, it would be quickly filled with spam in about three minutes, thereby becoming instantly useless to you and everyone else. Apple would need to change it hourly, if not more often. That is also the reason you ought not to post your name, location, and what appears to be your iPad's serial number on this publicly viewable website.
Apple does not respond here and I can find no other questions for your fellow Apple users to answer. -

I've managed to configure my farm so that Microsoft Online Directory Services (Office 365 etc.) can be used for STS authentication, but what I'm actually trying to do is allow user authentication - that is, I'm hoping to be able to use the user's
O365 credentials to authenticate them in my own farm so they can view certain parts of it. If I need to write my own login form or authentication provider or whatever that's fine, as long as the user doesn't need to enter anything when they access my farm
(provided they already have cached O365 credentials in their browser session).
FWIW I actually need to be able to support the possibility that users are coming from multiple O365 tenancies, whereby each site collection will be configured to allow users from a different O365 tenancy (more or less).
If it's not possible to do with my own development farm on a PC, it is possible if the farm is hosted in Azure?

Low Resolution when uploading to online printing service
When I upload photos from iPhoto to an online printing service (Walmart, Costco, Shutterfly) photos show up as low resolution. When I take the picture I use the higest resolution. Are there any suggestions on how to rectify this situation? I have uploaded and printed before with no problem. Do I have to use the memory stick directly to the site or change settings?
My camera is a Sony DSC-W55.

How are you going about uploading?
Are you digging the files out of the DATA folder in the iPhoto Library Folder? If so, you're using the thumbnails that iPhoto uses for display purposes.
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
I suggest you use the File -> Export option and export the pics to the desktop. There iPhoto will make a copy. Upload that, and when the upload is finished you can trash the copy on the desktop - your original is safe in iPhoto.

Here is the solution that worked for me, based on antoniovtorres post (I resisted the urge to get PO'd and tried to figure out what he must have done):
With desktop manager closed, using Blackberry user tools, navigate to 'Blackberry\system\' (make sure that hidden files are shown or you won't see the 'system' folder).
Move or delete the folders 'Media Sync' and 'media' from the system directory.
Re-open desktop manager.
Click yes to any dialog that appears.
You should now be able to sync music again.
Note that your device may want to double up on your synced pictures and videos, so you may want to delete your pictures and videos off of the device before your next picture or video sync. Hope it works for y'all.

Nokia Music Service Unavailible
On my Lumia 920 and my daughters Lumia 820 we cant play any music from the Nokia Music service. It previously worked. We have tried with WiFi and Cellular conections.
The service appears down.
When we go to a mix radio station the first song comes up. Then it times out and goes to the next song.

My daughter has been missing for a week and has a serious medical condition. She has an iPhone 4S and when I log into find my iPhone it says online , location services off. Does that mean there is no way to track the phone? Please I'm willing to try anything to get my baby home. Thanks.
Without location services, there's no way the device can be tracked. It's location services that provide the device's location to any apps that need that info, including the Find My iPhone service. Sorry.

Online printing services and that built into Aperture
Hi,
I regularly have pictures printed by a well known high street photo store here in the UK but just recently I've been disappointed with some of the results.
They're coming back too dark and with a yellow cast even though the original files look fine when viewed on several different modern monitors, some calibrated, some not. I even run my monitor at minimum brightness when preparing them to try to simulate how dark they will look when printed using this service. I also add much more exposure to some pictures in Aperture to the point where they start to look washed out and even then they come back a bit dark.
I'm therefore looking to find an alternative service. Can anyone recommend a reliable and affordable online printing service that produces results close to the electronic versions viewed on their monitor?
Has anyone tried the built in "Order Prints" option in Aperture? How did it go?
I briefly tried to use this option last night but for some reason it didn't recognise my Apple ID which I thought was the same as I use to log into these forums ie "d60Dave" in my case. Am I mistaken?

Export for online printing service question...
Hi all...I am new to all this exporting business so please bear with me. In the past if i wanted prints made i just burnt them to a disk and took the disk to a local photo lab to have printed. So the question is when using an online printing service such as Mpix, would i just export versions as original sized jpegs and send them to the printing service and that's it or do i also have to mess with the dpi setting? I noticed the default dpi setting is 72 for all the export presets. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...Dave

when someone else is doing your printing always ask them how they want your Versions delivered first prior to burning the DVD, for example, 16bit TIFF, 8bit TIFF, colorsync (color mangement), dpi...there is an excellent tutorial/information on this in Aperture's help menu "Photography Fundamentals"
what i do is edit the photograph by softproofing to the printer used. in Aperture select the Proofing Profile & then Onscreen Proofing

Desktop Mgr 6 - "Music services failed to load"
I've got a T-Mobile Curve 8520.
This afternoon I uninstalled Desktop Mgr 5.0.1 and Office 2007 (with Outlook). I then installed Office 2010 (with Outlook), and finally installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0.0.
Almost everything works, but when I try to go to the Music page in the new Desktop Manager I see this:
Music services failed to load
An unexpected error occurred.
I've confirmed that the media card is enabled to act as a Mass Storage Device. I've rebooted the laptop, and shut down and restarted the 8520. I've closed and opened and closed Outlook and Windows Media Player. Desktop Manager is configured to use WMP, not iTunes.
Does anybody have any ideas as to how to fix this?

An error I see in the log states "INNER EXCEPTION: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException -- MESSAGE: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values". The parameter involved relates to a path. It occurred to me that the problem may be due to my music library being stored on a NAS and not the local hard drive, so I removed that library and only used a music library on my D: drive (same physical drive as C: ), but the problem remained.
If I set the Desktop Manager software to use iTunes the music pane loads without problem.
I've attached the log to this post. Thanks for your help.
