how do we identify benefit enrolled employees during open enrollment process whether employee enrolled into medical/dental benefits during open enrollment?

you can check elections made date for the life event in ben_elig_per_elctbl_chc_popl for the per_in_ler_id of open. This will tell you that the person has made explicit elections and not defaulted. and then, as you rightly said, you can check ben_prtt_Enrt_rslt_f to see the enrollments.

How do I restrict certain plans from appearing during Open Enrollment?

We have 15 benefit plans for which all employees are eligible. We do not want to change the groupings or settings for our Open Enrollment period but would like to restrict the plans that appear for Open Enrollment so that only 12 out of the 15 plans are displayed and available to employees in ESS. Can this be done? I know I can restrict which plans are available when using IT0378 Adjustment Reasons but cannot find a way to restrict the list for Open Enrollment. Thanks for any suggestions.

I had that exact same delima, but one of our consultants pointed us to the transaction: HRBEN00ADJRSN
This is a mass load of adjustment reasons. You just need to feed the program the total time allowed for adjustments and things like start of records date and end of records date. Because of the dates and the potential for different plans to have different dates, we actually have two open enrollment adjustment reasons. We have one for Flexible spending where I give the 1/1 begin date and a 12/31 end date since it is only effective for the year in question. Then we have our main open enrollment for all other plans where the begin date is 1/1 of the new year and 12/31/9999 for the endda. I then run the HRBEN00ADJRSN twice for the population: once for the flex enrollment, and then again for the main open enrollment adjustment reason.

ESS: Benefits: OPEN ENROLMENT NOT VISIBLE in ESS

This is regarding a SAP HR implementation for US.
Open Enrollment Service is giving a dump with error
u201CNo Correct Adjustment Reason Specifiedu201D.
Following has been checked, still unable to view it in ESS.
u2022     Employees are configured for running Open Enrollment for employees.
u2022     Employees are assigned to appropriate PA and PSA. Country grouping for both the employees is USA: 10.
u2022     Maintained appropriate data in Infotype 0171(General Benefits Information). Correct benefit program grouping is done for both employees ie maintained first and second program grouping for both employees.
u2022     Maintained Benefit Adjustment Reasons for both the employee i.e. Infotype 0378(Adjustment Reason Data).
u2022     Maintained Open Enrollment Offer for employees between 09.13.2008 and 10.13.2008. (MM/DD/YYYY).
u2022     Program HRBEN001 is running correctly in backend. Both employees are able to choose different benefit plans during the open enrollment period.
u2022     User is having SAP_ALL authorizations.
u2022     Resources and Services are correctly defined and linked in the backend.
u2022     HR_BEN_ESS_RFC_ENRO_REASONS is a SAP defined function module to fetch benefit data from Benefit module and post it to ESS internal tables. Testing it in the background using transaction se37 gives correct results in the backend. It is displaying Open Enrollment as one of the Benefit Reasons.
Kindly help with any pointers at the earliest.

Benefits Open Enrollment using BSP

Hi All,
I am new to the BSP forum. I am a HCM functional person. I wanted to know your view in this matter. We are live in SAP ECC 6.0 with all modules but dont have ESS/MSS right now. We have been doing Open Enrollment via sharepoint forms till now. After employee completes the form the data is udpated in Sharepoint library and then we download these data to excel. We finally upload these data via LSMW/custom program to update Benefits Infotypes. This is a tedious process and takes a lot of time especially the download values from Sharepoint has to to be mapped to SAP fields etc. ESS/MSS may happen next year. We are weighing the pros and cons of creating the forms in BSP instead of Sharepoint. With BSP it might be easy to update the Benefits infotypes.
Is it possible to create forms in BSP and store it in an internal table and then upload these data via a custom program / standard function modules to udpate IT167, IT168 etc.
Please share your thoughts.

if those form fields needs F4, etc better to go with ABAP webdynpro.

Open Enrollment

Hello Gurus,
I am working with Benefits service first time, i have some doubts please clarify.
when an employee going into Open Enrollment through ESS the previous years elections are defaulted. For example, if you selected Medical Plan HMO last year, will Medical Plan HMO default for you the following year?
Otherthan adding links to the plans in the service, where else we can post the some informative texts for users which can informative to them.

Open Enrollment in ESS Senrio is disable

we installed ESS bsuiness package 60.2 on portal and backend is ECC5.0.when i logon to portal and check Employee Service-->Benifits&Payment.under "benifit" there is link called "Open Enrollment" .it is disable or glared.can anybody help me how to enable it.please help

Open Enrollment Confirmation eMails

Want to see if anyone has done the following..,
Under Open Enrollment, after plan review and after SAVEing, the user has the option to Print New Plan Selection. This has the effect of displaying a .pdf file to the screen with the users elections.
I would like for that .pdf to be automatically generated and e-mailed to the person after a save. (regardless of whether or not they had pressed Print New Plan Selection.
Before I start enhancing, I thought Id check to see if anyone had already done this, and if so, where the touch points were.

We're running :
NW 2004S, ESS 1.0 SP09 Web DynPro Version
with ECC 6.0 ERP2005 on the R/3 side

Have not done it, but it's very possible...especially if you want to clog up your network with unread emails including PDF attachments. haha (one thing to keep in mind is security concerns around sending this type of info in emails...and make sure the generated PDFs are cleared from the servers cache/temp files for the same reasons)
That "Print Confirmation" basically just goes out and pulls the configured Benefits Confirmation form. Beforer they "re-added" the feature back to the Benefits Overview service, I had to write a separate custom BSP app to allow the employee to print this at anytime. It was VERY easy.
I first called.....

You could do the same but after generating the PDF attach it to an email. There are TONS of examples out on this forum for doing this.

Editing Certain screens on Open Enrollment

Hi all,
I have a requirement to add a note to EACH Open Enrollment page based on selection. For example if the employee selects "Opt Employee Life" we need a note on that screen with details about our plan. Again, if they select "Opt Spouse Life" we also need a different note on that screen for that plan.
Could anyone please tell me how this would be possible and give me a push in the right direction?

You can add a note via Web Dynpro to the VcBenefitsPlanSelection component.

ESS Open Enrollment Error message

Hello experts,
I am coming to you because I cannot figure out why we are getting this particular error message when an employee is doing open enrollment.
When an employee goes into ESS and tries to do an open enrollment for their medical/savings/insurance plans, the following error message occurred.
No entry for period parameter 30 / payroll year / payroll period
This is not happening for all of the employees within this payroll area. Just some....but enough to make it a good portion of our employee population.
I have looked at the period parameters/calendar and modifiers etc. to see if the period was set up and could find nothing wrong. We do have the period set up and the calendar goes out to 2010.
I would really appreciate help on this issue since open enrollment begins very soon for us!

Yes,I have checked those tables (thank you though) and all appropriate values seem to be there.
This is the first time we are doing open enrollment. We went live with SAP in Jan 2008. At that time all employees were converted in with their respective benefit plans. We have had new hires throughout the year who have enrolled and while we had a few onesie twosie issues, nothing of this nature.
Do you think it could be in the ESS set up somewhere?
My problem is that it works for some people and not others. I am looking to see what is different on an employee that works vs one that doesn't.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

ESS Benefits open enrollment - Issue

When we click on the benefits open enrollment link, we do not want some of the plans to be displayed to the ess user. Is there any way to control it ( SPRO or BAdI ).

"The plans presented in benefits enrollment (PZ14) and Participation Overview (PZ07) are list output from ABAP. You can go into the program and select or exclude some of them based on certain criteria. I've seen customers extend the Plan infotype to add a flag field to make it configurable to show, not show a given plan."
Since specific instructions weren't given, I wouldn't consider the issue answered.
However, I can provide the following work around:
Due to the fact that different populations have different open enrollment period timeframes, and all populations have been configured under one benefit area...we decided to create an "Open Enrollment Adjustment Reason" for each group instead. Thus, the Adjustment Reason permissions will only display the plans we want the employee to see via ESS. Prior to the open enrollment period for the population, we will run the Mass Adjustment Reason report to create IT378 for all relevant employees. The OE offer will appear as another Adjustment Reason under the Enrollment service in ESS.

Regd:Benefits Open Enrollment Issue

I have problem in Open Enrollment which is in ESS.
We have used the Portal Navigation for designing the Navigation instead of Homepage Framework.
When we were using Homepage frame work the open Enrollment works fine(ie) it will be highlighted when the period is opened and it will be glared when the period is closed.
But now after changing the navigation design it is working fine when the period is open but its not getting blared or disabled when it is closed instead it gives me the error.
I need to make it disable when the period is closed.
Is there any configuration that I have to do.
Please put me some light on it.

Issue with Open Enrolment Link in ESS - Benefits

Hi Experts,
We are facing two issues with open Enrolment Link in ESS for benefits, Need your help in resolving this. Please find the details below :
1. Benefits cost is not appearing in open enrolment Screen
Details : Monthly Contribution cost is not appearing against the Benefits Plan for which employees are already enrolled in Open Enrolment Screen, Because of this employees are not able see previous contribution before deciding on contribution amount for next Financial Year.
2. URL for Benefits plan Gets disappeared in Open enrolment Screen
Details : When Contribution is removed for any Benefits Plan the corresponding URL link disappears, But this comes up when the page is refreshed.
Could you please let us know if this is related to missing configuration or Java webdynpro code.
Our Live system is ECC6.0 SP level A4 , Please let me know if you need more details.Looking forward for your response.

In regards to your first question, it could be a date issue for the infotype record. If the records for open enrollment are set to be effective for a future date, and the current record is delimited, then you won't see it in the open enrollment screen. This is true for benefits like a flex account because they have to be re-elected every plan year.
Let's say that any elections made in the current open enrollment period you are in take effect June 1, 2014. If the current record has an end date before June 1, then in the enrollment screen the employee will not see the current record because SAP is looking at June 1.
Take a look at the employee's record and at the benefit you want them to see and see what the end date is for the most recent record.

Query to extract new enrollment amount during open enrollment

Can someone share a query to extract the new enrollment amount employee chooses during a life event enrollment. I need to do some validations based on the new amount employee chooses during self service enrollment.

This is pretty old but still for the people who will be visiting to this thread just like I did.
We had a same issue... I have checked Web Dynpro java application for benefits enrollment and it shows this message when it has ZERO plans to show in open enrollment.
Then I did debugging in ECC Function modules and found why it is not sending any benefit plans even though user has them in Info type 168 (insurance plans).
It could be any reason for plans not to populate, our reason was user have Vol Spouse Life insurance and Voluntary Child Life Insurance but they dont have Spouse and/or Child records in Info type 21.
So, this error will show up when there are ZERO plans / records to show in portal. Find your issue why by debugging.

we are using oracle Learning Administrator 11.5.10,i have two query for enrollment screen in self service page,one is regarding total count show of enrolled employee ,because we have to count manually no of participant instead of automate,and 2nd one is ,we need to show to employee no field as well,right now we can't understand by name becuase in same case may appear name duplicate,

When we go in class detail ,where we can see information about the class like tile ,calass location etc,at the left sied of top there are four option link which are,

Resource Booking
Learner Access
But when we click to entrollment link system display all enrolled employee those who pertain that class,after appearing enrollment page ,there is not field(Total enrolled employee) and we have to count manually. How can we display total filed at the bottom.
