Hi friends,
I have a list region.....which consist of the following......
*)BC request
*)Training request
If i clicked the BC request means, it will navigate to page 3, and i i clicked training request means, it will navigate to page4........
Im having my company's employee hand book which is in the PDF format............
whether it is possible to open inside the application.......
In the sense what i meant is, whether it is possible to add in the list along with the above two request....
so that if i clicked my pdf link means, automatically the pdf will open.....
It is possible to do so......

How i made the list means,
I created a label for each and every page
That is for Business Card page, i created a label called Business Card Request and for this label i specified the page number for the business card page as a target......
Similarly for Training Request page, i created a label and given the page number of the Training Request Page as a target to this label.......
So if i clicked the label means, it will navigate to the corresponding page.....
Tony is it possible to upload the pdf in workspace_images folder, since i have only one pdf......
Soon after the upload how i can make it view the pdf in my application, by clicking the label of the pdf or link related to the pdf.......

You cannot send two responses per request. The solution is to let the client create two requests. Common approach is to add an onclick to the commandbutton/commandlink which opens the PDF in a new browser window and let the actual command action invoke a redirect on the current browser window.
E.g.<h:commandLink value="Download PDF" action="#{myBean.action}" onclick="window.open('http://..../xxxxxe43cb072378947fe8c1b7bcc7201691a.pdf');" />where the #{myBean.action} invokes a redirect and the http://..../xxxxxe43cb072378947fe8c1b7bcc7201691a.pdf opens the PDF in the new window.

I've read your question/problem once more and now I am a bit confused. All you want to do is to open the PDF file in a new window and you don't need to do something in the backing bean? Just use a link with target="_blank".

Is there a way to have Firefox open all of the links on a page without having to click on them individually?

I frequently visit pages where I end up clicking through to all, or almost all of the links on that page (e.g., a chapter list page). I would like to just tell Firefox open all of the links on the page, each in it's own tab.

Try this.
Open the document and select and copy a few pages, say ten pages.
Open a new blank document and paste the pages you copied into that.
Save it with a new name.
Work on those new pages to see if the problem has disappeared.
If this helps, continue breaking up the large file in to smaller chunks and working on them
You can of course later reverse the process and merge the files into one new one.
This suggestion is based on my experiences with large Word files. Breaking it up in to smaller chunks does two things. First, if there is any corruption in the old file, the new copies might escape that. Second, the Mac is faster handling the smaller chunks.

I did as you recommended and installed HTTPWatch and below is the outcome of that program. It is the exact string with the only exception of obfuscated servernames and portnumbers. The last part that begins with "sap_ep_baseurl=" makes me suspicious, is that part really correct? It looks like it's lacking things.

Opening .pdfs in the same window/tab.

I look at a lot of .pdfs (Journal Articles) in my browse. Generally, I only download a fraction of the ones I look at. Recently, Firefox has stopped opening .pdfs in the same window/tab. Instead, it prompts me to download every .pdf I want to look at. I then have to save them, open them on my desktop, look at them, and then delete the ones I do not want to keep. Does anyone know how to get Firefox 10.0.2 to start opening .pdfs in the same window/tab again?

If I save it, there is no problem, I can open the file and see the content but if I try to open the content, I get an error in Acrobat Reader ("error opening the document.File not found"). Cannot open PDFs from a link in another PDF

Hello, I am having a strange issue on some of my users' adobe readers. (2 users on windows 8.1 PCs)
I have created an "app choser" (see below image) which is basically an "easy one page choser" for the different "fillable forms" I have created which has been working perfectly up until this week. Basically there is 12 buttons and when the user presses one of these buttons, the chosen fillable form / app opens which they can then fill in and send on as required.
However the 2 users that are having problems, cannot open the forms at all. They click on the button but nothing at all is happening. Adobe reader is just not registering that there are links at all.
The "app choser" works on all my users PC's except 2, so I know its not a location error or to do with updates etc.. Does anyone have any clues or ideas.
I have already tried going into preferences - trust manager - internet access from PDF - change settings - Allow PDF files to access websites...... but this made no difference at all.

doesnt matter i've fixed it. if anyone else is having the same issue then I fixed it by doing the below:
Edit - preferences- Security enhanced -
unclick "enable protected mode at startup" - restart adobe reader
bizarrely i've not had to unclick this on any of my other users PC's (on both windows 7 & 8.1), but was necessary for some reason on the ones having trouble with opening PDF links from the "app chooser PDF".

Cannot Open pdf from a link inside a web page.

I cannot open a pdf that is in link in a web page. I get an error message saying "cannot find file ... Make sure that path or Internet address is correct"it is looking for the PDF on our network and also when I open the Web page from a flash drive on the same computer where the web page and PDF are in the same folder, it asks if I trust the site and I choose Allow and the PDF does not open then either. But when i do the latter on a different machine, open the folder and web page from a FD where they are in the same folder, it asks if I trust the site and I choose Allow, it opens the PDF.

Mac won't open pdfs from web links.

I am running Mac OS v 10.5.8 and it suddenly stopped displaying PDFs that are opened via web links. All I see is a grey screen with the file title.pdf at the top, no error message. Has anyone experienced this or aware of a fix? Soooooo frustrating.

Alternatively, you can select any PDF file from Finder, hit Command-i, or right click on the file and select Get Info.
From there, change Open With to Safari.
Then hit the button Change All.
And done.

Revisiting an earlier post here, because a solution is revealed.
The string below, when entered into the "Jump to URL" value on the Navigation tab for Textbox properties, works IN A REPORT PUBLISHED to a Report Server. This would NOT work in the Visual Studio project on my desktop.

Unfortunately, it opens the PDF file on the same browser tab as the SSRS report that contains the link to the file.
