Open, Save, Save As Plus the pop up at the bottom of the page

When opening an .mdb file on our intranet home page (medium security) while in IE 8, the link activates the access database within the link and opens access in a new window (as intended).
We have been testing with IE 10 and the link now wants to open the older style "OPEN, SAVE, SAVE AS" pop-up (3x5 card with white background).
After selecting OPEN, we also get the new style of pop-up at the bottom saying "couldn't be loaded" RETRY, CANCEL, VIEW DOWNLOADS.
Regardless of what I select the access db still opens as intended.
The big question is,
HOW do I make it so no one will see the first or second pop-ups.  I don't want the user to have an option to OPEN, SAVE, or SAVE AS, and I don't want the bottom pop-up either.
I just want it to open like it did under IE 8.

Hi,
the default security slider value for the Intranet zone is Medium-low... and Medium on server versions of windows. mdb files are 'unsafe'. Check your registry for any 'unsafe files' whitelists..
look in these keys.
Const HKEY_Include = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\UnsafeFiles\Include"
Const HKEY_Exclude = "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\UnsafeFiles\Exclude"
Use GPO to customize your security zone settings and prevent users from changing your customizations.
file downloads are controlled by the IE Download manager, that checks the mime-type returned from the server with the extension on the file....
mdb==application/x-msaccess
Inspect the value of this registry key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mdb
I suspect that you will need to have a open sub-command that points to your access.exe file location in your Office folder.

    Hi StuNYC,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? Take a look at the article below, it provides suggestions that will resolve most issues that  cause an alert like that to appear in when starting the Mail app.

  • HT1277 I can recieve emails but I can't send them out.  The blue bar at the bottom left of the Mail page gets half way across and then the pop-up "Cannot send message using the server" comes up?  What do I do?

I have my Yahoo Mail "poped" over to Apple Mail.  I can recieve emails but I can't send them out.  The blue bar at the bottom left of the Mail page gets half way across and then the pop-up "Cannot send message using the server" comes up?  What do I do?

Your outgoing mail server is different than your incoming server. Usually the outgoing mail server will have smtp in it. I noticed yours said "cannot send message using the server mail.wavecable.com". That sounds like an incoming mail server. Try setting your outgoing mail server to smtp.wavecable.com
    I hope that helps.

  • How to make the calculation or formula in bottom of the coloum

How to make the calculation or formula in bottom of the coloum in Discoverer report.

    Manikandan

    Hi Ros
You have a couple of issues, one that is simple to resolve and one that is not so simple.
First, the simple one - the word TOTAL. To alter the word that Discoverer inserts next to a total, or to even remove the word altogether, use this workflow:
    1. Right-click on the total and from the pop-up menu select Edit Total
    2. At the bottom right-hand corner of the Edit Total dialog box is the area where the label is maintained. You will see a checkbox for the label
    3. If you uncheck the label you can change the label to anything you like, including nothing
    4. After you have set the label, click OK and close the Edit Total dialog box
Note: In Desktop, this is done via a drop-down from the Total dialog box. If you click the drop-down, the last item in the list is called Generate Label Automatically. If you uncheck this you can create your own label.
Your second issue concerning the non-totaling of the grand total on some items means that there is something preventing one or more of the totals from calculating. First of all, try to determine which item or items is causing the problem by adding individual totals to each of the desired columns. You will eventually find the column which has the culprit. If you use the above workflow to suppress the display of any labels your total line will look as though you have totaled all items.
Next, having found the column that will not total, try to figure out why the values will not add up. Could the column be a calculated item? If so, it is possible that you have used SUM on the outside of the calculation, like this:
SUM(some item - some other item) - this will not total if the original items themselves are in the query and are also being summed. This is because you are mixing aggregate and detail items within the total.
Try changing the formula like this:
SUM(some item) - SUM(some other item) and see if this helps.
If this is not the cause then try changing the formula for that column's total to CELL SUM instead of SUM. This causes Discoverer to literally add the values in the column.
If this is not the cause, could you possibly be trying to total repeated values? By default, this is disabled in the later versions of Discoverer. The repeated values will be caused if you have multiple joins in your query and the item that you are totaling is from the many end of a one to many relationship. Suppose you had items from a header table and line table in the same worksheet with there being multiple lines for the same header, and now let's say you have a column which is returning something from the header. That value will get repeated and if you try to total it would generate the wrong answer, hence out of the box Discoverer is trying to protect you from yourself.
However, it could be that the column really should be totaled but because Discoverer has detected a one to many join it will not total that column. To prove that this is the reason, change the join from a one to many to a one to one. Don't worry, this won't stop the query from working. If this allows the total to work then you can either leave the join as it is with a one to one, which won't harm Discoverer or you can edit the pref.txt on the server and change one of the preferences.
The preference I would change is called AllowAggregationOverRepeatedValues. By default this is disabled and will be set to 0. Changing this to a 1 will now tell Discoverer that repeated values can now be totaled. Don't forget to apply the preferences correctly by execiting applypreferences.bat, on Windows or applypreferences.sh, in Linux or Unix, and then stopping and restarting the Discoverer server.
    I hope this helps
    Best wishes

  • How can I use a POP up dialogue box on my mobile phone. gives me an error to allow the pop up box. I turned the pop up blocker off.

I am trying to open up a pop up box that allows me to enter times and mileage for a work application. I am on my android phone. I have a friend at work that is able to do it on his phone but mine will not let me give me an error. his does not. I turned off the pop up blocked and nothing changes.

  • Suppress the pop-up box in iCal when "The server responded with an error"

So there are tons of questions already on this site about this pop-up error in iCal when trying to connect to Google calendars or MobileMe calendars. My issue is that the connection is fine 90% of the time, but every now and then the connection fails (it checks every 5 minutes) and I get this pop-up.
Now in a perfect world, this error would not result in a pop-up that demands my immediate attention, but would fail silently and simply try again 5 minutes later. Normally Apple's software design is sensible and would do things this way, so I'm totally confused why they think a pop-up (and bouncing dock icon) is anything but annoying, especially when I know it's not a big deal and will probably connect successfully next time.
Soooo... is there a top-secret way I can suppress this pop-up box? It is one of those things that can drive one insane. I even switched to BusyCal for a while but decided it wasn't quite worth $50 just to be rid of the pop-up.

Is this the pop-up you get?
The request for account “[email protected]” failed.
    The server responded with
    “HTTP/1.1 502 Bad Gateway”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
I've never seen it before but am getting it this evening (UK time). Also if I try to log in to MMe Calendar it's not logging in but going to 'find my iPhone' like it did when Mail was mucking about a few weeks back.

  • The Pop-up That Won't Die In Pages Tracking

Pages version 4.1 (923) running on Lion, OSX 10.7
When you turn on Tracking, an annoying translucent post-it pops up—no matter where you put your cursor. It tells you the last thing you did in the document, and when you did it—like that's something you need to know.
And it won't go away until you click someplace else in the document.
AND there's no way to turn the feature off. Really, I looked everywhere in preferences, and an Apple Pages specialist confirmed that on the phone.
I swear, it's as bad as the paperclip in MS Word.
OH! And on Lion -- the damned thing stays on the screen when you switch apps. I'm looking at one right now at the bottom of the screen, while I'm in Safari. And it MOVES—now it's on top of this message's menu bar. It appears and disappears. To get rid of it, I'd have to switch pack to Pages and click somewhere in the doc. It's like a villain in Doctor Who.
Since there's no way to turn it off in the program, that leaves the terminal—which I've never used but am willing to brave if someone would be so kind as to tell me what the frak to do and how to do it?
    Pretty please?
Or is there someone smart enough write an Applescript or patch?? I'm dyin' here.
    Thank you in advance,
    outlaw

As far as I know, the local menu entitled "Bulles de suvi" in French isn't deeply buried !
Check the item "Hide All" and, what a wonderful surprise, the post-its will no longer pop.
To Peter's attention, it's not a system feature, just a Pages's documented one

  • I added exceptions for the pop up blocker but most of the time it still does not allow the pop ups for the sites I listed as exceptions

the pop up blocker is inconsistent. i added websites to the exceptions list but most of the times when i load firefox it does not allow the exceptions...sometimes it does but i can't find any reason or consistency as to why it sometimes allows them and sometimes doesn't. They are clearly listed on the exceptions option.

  • Why am I unable to update my Firefox 3.0 when the pop-up menu tells me that the download was complete?

I am repeatedly told to upgrade my version of Firefox.
Each time I attempt this, whether I disable my anti-virus software (AVG) or not, I get a pop-up menu telling me the download was completed but I still seem to be on the 3.0 version.

  • How do I stop the pop up "An ActiveX control on this page ...?

I recently installed an accounting program on my computer. In order to access several pages on this program, a message appears on the screen and I must address it before I can get access to my required page on the accounting program. The message is as follows: "An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page. Do you want to allow this interaction?" How can this be eliminated altogether?

Firefox doesn't natively run ActiveX controls at all. This capability might be injected into Firefox by a plugin or one of the "IE Tab" add-ons. Can you test the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Safe mode does not automatically disable plugins. If you want to rule out plugins that might be relevant, you can disable them here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category

  • HT204053 If I synced my iTunes on my 5s , where can I locate my library and songs on it? I clicked on the music note icon on bottom of the screen and it says there is nothing  and iTune icon also nothing. Help.

I synced my iTunes in my 5s but on it it does not show any song or my library. Where can I find my songs ?

If they were synced successfully then they be in the Music app (iTunes on iOS devices is just the iTunes store) :
How did you sync it ? You should be able to sync music by connecting your phone to your computer and selecting it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) and then using the Music tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select the music that you want on your phone, and then applying/syncing that selection - is that what you did ?

Bummer. Could be a problem with the MBP drive. Are you using Re-writable discs maybe?
Check the discs work in your HP machine. They may have burnt but not successfully. Your HP machine may not be able to open them either.
Have you considered using a USB flash device to transfer the photos, or just copy them over your home network? CD is a slow an cumbersome method.

  • IPhoto won't open.  Says CAUTIONThe iPhoto library is a Time Machine backup, and so cannot be used as the main library. Reopen iPhoto with the Option key held down to choose another library.

I tries to verify that my photos were being backed up on Time Machine to an external harddrive, because I would like to delete my Camera Roll on my iPhone.  I was not able to view any photos in my backed up photo library, after entering Time machine.  Now, I can't even open iPhoto on my iMac with the pop up box warning me that the library is a Time machine backup....which it shouldn't be, because I'm openning iPhoto on my Mac...NOT the external HD.
What happened, and how do I access my photos?

It sounds like you went into the Time Machine hard drive, found a library and "dragged" it to your Pictures folder or wherever on your hard drive.  That's not the way to do it.
Go to your Pictures folder and enter Time Machine via the TM menu in the menu bar:
