Open Webdynpro ABAP application from UWL

Hello Experts,
The requirement is we need to open the Custom Webdynpro ABAP application when the user clicks on the UWL tasks instead of ITS based screen.
We have created a custom workflow task. Then we maintained the task entry with Webdynpro ABAP application name in SWFVISU transaction.
After re-registering the UWL connector in Portal I could not find the Task ID in UWL definition. In UWL the task item is visible but could not open the task because the UWL could not identify the task no for this.
Am I missing something in the above steps?

I assume it must be possible without transaction SWFVISU.

First you need to define a external service then you have to generate a task from this external service and then you need to include this task id in you workflow for a ACTIVITY step then this step can be either background or can be assigned to any agent

I am facing below issue in opening webdynpro abap application, this is first WDA application in production system, please help me in resolving this issue.

I'm facing the same issue with the POWL only if called from a part of the network outside our country (Italy) so I think it would be a network configuration problem as you suppose. Can you explain us the configuration of the balancer and dispatcher to solve the issue?

Login pop-up when launching Webdynpro ABAP application from SAP Inbox

Hello All,
We have configured our workflow to trigger WD ABAP application from SAP Inbox.
However when we launch the workitem from SAP Inbox, we are getting a login pop-up screen in IE which prompts us to enter SAP password.
Can you please help how can we avoid getting that login screen and how the WD ABAP application can single sign on from SAP GUI to IE for that user-id.

You can configure User(RFC) and password for your webdynpro appl'n using SICF tcode.

Debugging the webdynpro abap application from portal.

I developed a WebDynpro application and integrated in portal. I have to catch some portal events.For that i have written some code in my application. I tried to debug the application from portal by using all the available break-point types.but we could not .
Anybody have an idea how to debug a WebDynpro application from portal.

a) Check on number of R/3 sessions opened at a time.
b) Check that user ID configured in portal using System Mapping Under 'Delegate User Administration' is the same user for which you are setting external breakpoint in backend system.

Accessing WebDynpro ABAP application from external network

Hi All,
I have developed one application in webdynpro ABAP.
Now my requirement in to access this application through internet.
I dont want to use portal to run application.
Is it possible to access through internet ?

You can access the webdynpro application via internet with the help of SAP Web Dispatcher. Basis team will install the web dispatcher and then machine can put into a DMZ area which in turn can be opened to Internet with necessary controls.

Integrating WebDynpro ABAP applications with UWL for workflow in Portal

We want to integrate an abap webdynpro application as task in the workflow with UWL.

But no answer on the following issue:
We use the transaction SWFVISU to prepare standard setting for our task. This defines how a task is executed, once you select the task subject line on the worklist.

FPM Navigation - asking for Log on when calling WebDynpro ABAP Application

Hi Experts,
I want to call a Non FPM based WebDynpro ABAP Application from a FPM Component.
I have followed the method showed in the following thread by Rajkumar to call WebDynpro Application using URL.

I could successfully call my WebDynpro ABAP application using this approach,
However when the application opens in new Browser , it asks for log on again.
Can anyone help me to avoid this log in screen.
P.S. --> Both the applications are in the same server.

Issue in calling WebDynpro ABAP iView in UWL

Hi,
We have configured UWL to our ECC system successfully.
In our UWL for a task TS90105432, when the users click on work item in their UWL Inbox, initially UWL launches a standard page in new window. On this page users can see a link u201CNote for Approval Processu201D, when they have to click on this link a web dynpro page needs to launch in new window. But when users click on Note for Approval Process link no action has been triggering / taken place and no error message.
Actually we have created a web dynpro ABAP iView for the TS90105432 - Note for Approval Process in Portal.
Through content admin we can see the preview of Note for Approval Process WDABAP iView. But the problem is not able to call this iView when the users click on Note for Approval Process in UWL.
Shall we need to set any Visualization parameters in SWFVISU? Can you please share your iViews on how we can call this WDABAP iView in UWL

now I want to move this same application to another SAP system.
Is it possible via downloading to flat file and uploading from flat file to destination system or something like that?

First of all you should create outbound plug in the window you are trying to exit with plufg type "Exit"
Then create method handler in the view with this code

WebDynpro ABAP application opening blank in portal

Dear All,
There is a strange issue which is being faced by one user. when the user tries to access a Webdynpro ABAP application in Portal then it opens in new window but nothing is displayed in the tray. Now when the user right clicks on the opened window->properties and copies the url from properties and pastes it in new tab (IE 8 is used) then the application opens and works fine.
The portal and backend roles are fine for the user as he can access/work when the application is opened using the copied url.
Please suggest what could be the problem for the user. For other users the issue mentioned is not there.

Webdynpro abap application attached to SWFVISU is tested from se80

when webdynpro ABAP application is attached to workitem in SWFVISU the the workitem id is passed via url when calling the application. (though the url seen in the application in se80 in the webdynrpo abap component does not have workitem id paramter)

I am running this application from se80 - application - right click - test. (this is required to troubleshoot one of the issues.)
at this time it does not ask for workitem id and directly runs the application . It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id. the status of this workitem is complete in the system.

It is required to have a parameter WI_ID (as an Application parameter) in your WDA. And via this Application parameter WDA will receive the workitem id, when the task is exceuted from UWL (provided configuration is done in swfvisu)
Could you confirm, there is no Application parameter (WI_ID) in your WDA?
It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id
If you defined WI_ID in Application parameter and there is an option to provide value and it seems, you have defined some value over there or other way might be in your method (inbound plug), you may gave default value to WI_ID in the parameter
If your application is working properly from UWL and for testing purpose, you could put a breakpoint and change the workitem id, when executing from se80

Well, I think you can go for Portal Navigation concept.
Please check the required source code in WDR_TEST_PORTAL_NAV Web Dynpro component. That will illustrate both Page based Navigation and Object based Navigation.

Dear Ajay,
Assuming that both your applications WDA & WDJ are in the portal & you don't have to pass any parameters to the WDJ application.
Write the following code on the action where you would call the WDJ application.
DATA:
        lr_compcontroller TYPE REF TO ig_componentcontroller,
        l_component TYPE REF TO if_wd_component ,
        lr_port_manager TYPE REF TO if_wd_portal_integration ,
        wa_navigation TYPE navigation.
lr_compcontroller =   wd_this->get_componentcontroller_ctr( ).
l_component = lr_compcontroller->wd_get_api( ).
lr_port_manager = l_component->get_portal_manager( ) .
* The value inserted into the navigation-target field can be found in the Portal
* content administration tab of your portal. It is the ID or PCD Location field
wa_navigation-target = pcd. " Please provide the PCD Location of the WDJ Application here.
wa_navigation-mode   = '0'. "0 = INTERNAL(same page) and 1 = EXTERNAL(new page).
CALL METHOD lr_port_manager->navigate_absolute
    EXPORTING
      navigation_target = wa_navigation-target
      navigation_mode   = wa_navigation-mode.
You can get the PCD from the Page properties of the WDJ application page in the Portal.
