Hi Jetsam thanks for all u replies.
Well I know what was the problem
My href statement was
<a href="JSPFile4.jsp target = "Window3" onClick="window.open('','Window3','location=no,menubar=no,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes,left=' + window.screen.availWidth*1/4 + ',top=' +window.screen.availHeight*1/6 + ',width=' + window.screen.availWidth*3/6 + ',height=' + window.screen.availHeight*6/6)">Manohar</a>
was same for all the pages.Hence all the page was being opened at the
same spot.Well changed some info like top, left etc and the new window will be opened in different location and we will distintly see a new window being opened.
thanks again Jetsam for ur replies.

Also, if you right click, the menu will include; '''''Open New Tab''''' and
    '''''Open New Window'''''.

  • MSS Content only seeable over "Open in New Window" Function

    Hello,
we have established EP 7.0 with SP10 and MSS. First we saw all the content in the Webdynpros-iView in Portal. Now we can see this content only if we click onto upper right corner and select "Open in New Window". This works with all users activated for the usage of MSS. We assume therefore that we don't have a permissions problem. Could anybody help?

    Hi Sunil,
yes that is true. we were able to see all the MSS iViews after setting the permissions to everyone. Afterwards some copies as Deltalinks of the "content provided by SAP" were done, we are facing that mentioned problem. A possible solution to solve this was to create new pages and position all the iViews again onto them - but this is just a workaround. I want to know what was wrong?
Thank you I appreciate your help!

  • Create Hyperlinks that open in new tab or window?!

    Hello,
Ok, so, this has been asked other times for many versions of InDesign and most common response is to do it in Acrobat Pro. WHY?!!!! I couldn't even easily figure out how to do it there and frankly, don't want to. That seems so backwards and tedious to have to do...seriously. How is this not an option in InDesign Hyperlink edit creation/options yet?!! It is SO simple. Please tell me I'm missing something... I love Adobe products and especially CC products that are getting better and more time saving...but this is so dumb, I'm sorry. I'm no smarty software engineer but I know what user friendly is and how things should work for everyone...and it seems like an easy thing to make possible. Many people create PDF's in InDesign for viewing/downloading in a browser and this needs to be an option with-in InDesign CC. Simple as that. When the PDF is opened in Acrobat the links do open in new tab/window but NOT when it is viewed in a browser. This is why I should or maybe shouldn't work for Adobe, I wouldn't let little things like this, that actually makes a big difference in user experience, go unnoticed and unchanged over so many new releases and updates...or ever be taken away. I guess I'll put in an InDesign CC features request...
Thanks to anyone who agrees and relays...or lets me know I'm missing something.
    Andy

I would also like a solution to this problem. It seems to have been around for quite a while.

  • DW CS4 Help with jump menu opening a new window.

First, I can't believe that Adobe left out an easy to use behavior to do this.
I have some jump menus, and I would like the selection to open up a new window and have the content appear there.  I saw a couple of old topics here that offered some suggestions, but they didn't work for me.  I could get it to open a new window, but the content was not there.  I saw where you need to add a "GO" button, and add a "Open New Window"behavior to it.  That is what opened the new window with new content.  I do not have the "GO" buttons on the jump menus in this code, but did try it and it didn't work.   If anyone can help and tell me how to do it, and where to place the code, I would greatly appreciate it.
I know this is long, but here is my code for the page.

I'm confused by your post and code.  Adobe has a function to do this.  In the Insert Toolbar under the Tab "Forms" there is an option to create a jump menu.  The only options that menu gives you is the same window or a frame on the page (a very outdated action looking at it now).  But with basic knowledge of links you insert the menu and you will get code like:
      <select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
The "parent" denotes that this will open in the same window.  If you change that to "blank" then it will open in a new window.  A "Go" button is optional and also available in the DW GUI when you set up a jump menu.

  • Sometimes when I open a new tab, I get a blank burgundy screen that covers up the window and sometimes I can get rid of it and sometimes not. At this point, I'm ready to totally get rid of Firefox. what is going on?

When I click on the plus sign by tabs, a burgundy blank screen appears over my window, blocking the tab groups except for the top portion. I can still see the URL address field and the tabs above but when I click on a tab, it comes up beneath the blank burgundy new screen on my window. I then have to open a new window but I have to start over on the tabs. I can't use the ones behind the burgundy screen. sometime when I click on the home icon the blank screen goes away, sometimes not.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    * If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
    * If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

  • Opening a new component/view in new window

    Hi there,
I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I can't find it for some reason.  I am trying to open a component in a new window using a link.  Even opening a different view in a new window would be suffice.
I however read somewhere that some of the past features of "createWindow" only open the new view/component as a Modal.
    Please Help.

    Michael,
What are you able to do is 2 options only:
    1. Open a separate browser window with new WD application / arbitrary url.
    2. Open so-called pop-over in same browser window. Well, it is not "pure" window, but it walks & quacks alike
For second option you can use smth. like this:
    final IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createWindow
      wdComponentAPI.getComponentInfo().findInWindows("MyWindow"),
      true
The latest parameter is "isModal" flag. As of sneak preview it is always should be modal (true).
I'm working with SP6 and it seems to be possible to define this parameter as false, and resulting window really modal-less (I can click on elements outside pop-over).
    Regards,
    VS

  • Is there a way to open a new tab/window by clicking the Safari dock icon?

Is there a way to open a new tab or window by clicking the Safari dock icon? Right now, the default behavior seems to be that Safari simply un-minimizes or displays the last window in focus.
I want to be able to quickly fire up a new tab or window in Safari when it is out of focus, such as when Finder is in focus. The workaround right now is to right-click on the Safari dock icon, and select "New Window", or to allow the last window in focus to appear, and cmd+t or cmd+n. But this is too many steps over the course of a day for a highly frequented task like this.

I'm glad that helped. Thanks for posting back.
... when I save this as an application as "run only", it's relatively quick to run, but there's a delay to load... I assume it's opening Script Editor every time?
As long as the script is saved as an application -- Run Only or not -- it should definitely not cause the Script Editor to open. You can verify this by closing the Script Editor application altogether prior to clicking on the docked script icon that you saved. You should notice that the Script Editor does not open when the script is run.
FWIW, I went back and saved a version of the script as a Run Only app, and I didn't notice any difference between it and the original, which was saved without the Run Only option checked. The delay that you're noticing might be accounted for by the fact that the script, because it was saved as an application, will be activated just as any other standalone application would be. This happens prior to Safari being activated. Watch your menu bar when clicking on the docked script icon and you should see the name of the saved script app appear for a split second before Safari gets activated.
The only time I can think of that you might wish to save the script as a Run Only application would be if you wanted to conceal the script for some reason. If, for example you were publishing the script as a part of an application release and didn't want its contents known, or you didn't want an end user to be able to edit the script, you might select the Save As > Run Only option. To illustrate this, try dragging and dropping a script saved as a Run Only application onto the Script Editor's icon. You should see a warning dialog to this effect:
*Unable to read the file because the script is not editable (it was saved as run-only).*
Whereas if you drag a script that was not saved as a Run Only app onto the Script Editor's icon, the script should open in the Editor, and it can be edited.
I played around with the "stay open" option for saving the script as an application, but it appears I have to close the app and reopen it before I can get it to work a second time.
The Stay Open option is appropriate for scripts which use an "On Idle" handler, which really wouldn't apply in this case. Check out more on Idle Handlers here and here.
Is there a faster way to use this multiple times throughout the day?
One way you might speed up the action would be to save the script +as a script+ by choosing Save As > File Format: script from the Script Editor's File menu. The resulting script can then be activated by assigning a hot key to it using one of several 3rd-party keyboard shortcut programs available on the Internet. (I used Spark, assigned a function key to the script I posted earlier, and found the action to run significantly faster.)
    Good luck.

  • "open in new tab" and MMB click lead to a new window suddenly

    Hi,
today my FF 4.0.1 is behaving strangely. When I normally use my middle mouse button over a link, it opens that link in a new tab. Now it opens the link in a new window. When I go via right click -> "open in new tab" it also opens a new window. When I choose "open in new window" it does the same thing.
Can somebody help, so I don't have to reinstall firefox with all addons and passwords?
    FYI: - I changed two values - browser.link.open_newwindow and browser.link.open_newwindow. restriction from 3/2 to 0 (didn't help)
    - the little "+"-button does open blank new tabs still

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
    See:

  • When i open a new site it always opens up on the side in a narrow window

I used to click on a site and it would always open up in the full screen. Now when I open a new site it always opens up in a narrow window on the left, 1/5th the size of the full screen, and continues to maintain the previous site in the remainder of the screen (4/5ths). The only way I can create the new site on the full screen is by dragging it over to the 4/5ths screen and then x'g out the narrow one on the left. Why is this happening and how do I eliminate it so that each time I open a new site it will open on the full screen?
    Thank you in advance.

Are you using a bookmark? There is a little-known feature of bookmarks that can load them in Firefox's sidebar. This allows you to work with two pages side-by-side. To change that setting, right-click the bookmark > Properties, then uncheck the box for "Load this bookmark in the sidebar".
(You probably didn't set this yourself. If you use a link on a website to have the site add a bookmark to Firefox, due to restrictions on what sites can do, those will always be targeted toward the sidebar.)
If that's not it, have you noticed any pattern in when this happens?

  • Firefox always opens a new window with ad.yieldmanager

As soon as i click on an image or other views on a website firefox opens a new tab with adyieldmanager and i cant get rid of it.

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware/malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • Opening a new browser window from a JSP

    Hi,
I have 2 buttons on my JSP. When the user clicks on them, they produce 2 reports. I would like to produce these results on a different browser window. Can anyone please tell me how to open a new window for the results?
    Thank you in advance.

Use target="_blank" in your form declaration.<FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="someAction" TARGET="_blank">The _blank keyword tells the browser to load the results in a new window.
If you need more control over your window (size, address bar, etc.) you'll need to use javascript.<SCRIPT>

       newWin = window.open("",windowName, "menubar=no,resizable=no,...");
       document.myForm.target = windowName;

  • Open PDF in same browser when the preference is set to open in new window.

The corporate policy for all applications is to open the PDF document in new browser/reader but our application needs the reader to open in the same browser even the preference "Display PDF in Browser" is unchecked.... The setPreference from javascript (html) doesn't seemed to work... How do i make this work?
Also, I need the links the browser to open in new browser once the PDF is loaded... do I need to reset the preference once it is loaded for the links to open in new browser?
    thanks,
    - Ray

There is no way to override that from your application.   And if the Links in the PDF have an explicit "open in new window" setting, that is respected over the preference.

  • Firefox 5.0 won't open a new window if all windows are closed or minimized

Running Firefox 5.0 under Mac OS X 10.6.8. If I close all of the windows, or all windows are minimized, I can't open a new window. A new window is listed in the Windows menu with the name "Mozilla Firefox", but the window does not actually exist. The ghost window can't be selected from that menu and therefore also can't be closed

Well, the behavior I described is now intermittent. Sometimes I can open a new window and sometimes I can't. If I can't, command-Tab does nothing. So far I've found no consistent circumstances under which I can or can't open a new window.
Originally I was running computationally intensive program that required 3.35 days to complete its run. When the run was over the Firefox problem disappeared - for awhile. Then the problem recurred in the intermittent fashion I've described.
