Opinions on your T430S screens? Should I order another or look elsewhere?

After 6 thinkpads I know not to expect too much of the screen, but my new T430S is going to be returned. It has got that "grainy" look about it. It is the 1600x900   (a 2356-GDG)
I am coming from a T410S that actually has a clear and decent panel in it ... So I was hoping that it would be similar. But I also worked at a client last year, where they gave me a T420 to work on, and that was a grainy screen too...  So are all the T420/S and T430/S that bad?  Or do they use different quality panels?
I really need the Thinkpad T series and the X230 with the IPS is too small, and I think the T530 with the 1920 panel is a litle to clunky....   Should I try and order another T430S or give up on them?
I even started looking at the Macbook Pro Retinas and  the Asus Zenbook .... But I know I'll miss the Thinkpad keyboard. Even the new chiclet style.

While I love my T430s in all other respects, I've been greatly disappointed by the poor screen quality. I realize Lenovo has to compete with others on price, but they should at least offer an IPS screen as an option. I know I'd be willing to pay for it. Fortunately I use my T430s with an external IPS monitor most of the time so I don't have to look at the built-in screen very often.

    The Bank and Paypal states that Adobe needs to process my transaction twice.
    I have no order number/ no status nor contact from Adobe. I called customer service and he transferred me to sales where the phone rang with no answer.

    Hi Kalpana
    Please reread my comment. I said to try and populate "Requested End" Date.
    Make sure the date profile assigned to the transaction includes this Date Type.
    If you can populate this either manually or programmatically the solution should be quite forward.
    If you cannot do this, only then should you look at making any significant sort of enhancement.

  • Screen Sharing.app fails through ssh tunnel with "You cannot control your own screen"

    I need to control a remote Mac mini running 10.7 through an ssh tunnel.  I've set up ssh with -L for the appropriate ports, and bound my local ports 5900 and 5800 through this.
    When I connect to 127.0.0.1 with Screen Sharing.app on my macbook pro which runs 10.8.4, it says "You cannot control your own screen" however, screen sharing is not enabled locally on my machine, I'm trying to access a remote machine.
    I tried something else.  I created an alias IP of 127.0.0.2 on lo0, and tried again, and got the same thing, so it's doing an ifconfig and looking through all the IPs to see if the IP address of what I'm trying to connect to is bound locally, which defeats the purpose of tunneling through SSH.  I don't wish to setup a VPN.
    How do I let the Screen Sharing.app know that I'm not trying to connect to my own machine and it should skip this check.
    I've also tried with another app, Chicken of the VNC, and that almost works.  It connects and shows a login screen desktop to the target machine, but I'm unable to click on any of the account icons displayed in order to login, and all key presses such as tab, space, and enter are ignored.
    When at the location (on the same vlan as the target machine) I'm able to remote into it just fine with screen sharing.app, but Chicken of the VNC has the same issue of showing a login screen, but not allowing logins to it.

    Your ssh command should look something like:
    ssh -L 22590:localhost:5900 remove.mac.system.address
    Then you connect using
    Finder -> Go -> Connect to server -> vnc://localhost:22590
    Have you been doing anything close to that?

    Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
    I am going to purchase a w540 soon and will be using it for accounting and for Photoshop CC. It is very important to me that the laptop works well with Photoshop as i edit images on a daily basis.
    Im not sure which screen resolution to order, the 1920x1080 or the 2880x1620. Of course i would love to have the higher resolution display, however, i have read that Photoshop will not run properly at the present time on a high rez windows display. The UI is virtually unuseable.
    If you can shed some light on the subject i would really appreciate it. Im thinking that i might be better off ordering the 1920x1080 display because i want the laptop to work well with Photoshop, but i wasnt sure how legitimate this problem is.

    Depending on what iPhone you have when you get to the connect to wifi you should be able to activate your device over cellular data. Try doing a hard reset by holding the home circle button an power button until an apple pops up and the  go through the setup again and when you get to the wifi part a option should be setup with cellular data iPhone 4 and above should give this option sometimes doesn't like showing up that's why u have to do a hard reset first

    I am working at Purchase Order in AFS and I added a custom screen using BADI (ME_GUI_PO_CUST) at item level that behave same as standard shipping screen but I want this custom screen should display in all condition, actually it disapper when standard shipping goes off.
    so, to accomplish this do i need make any changes in BADI or something to do in SPRO???

    To change or check the settings for your screen resolution, please follow these steps:
    -  From your task bar at the bottom-left corner of your Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows XP computer, click once on "Start."

    -  Select "Display" and then "Settings" from the tab menu.

    -  Slide the bar until it reads "1024 by 768" or greater.
    -  It is recommended that you use a fairly high resolution setting that will allow you to use the most screen space possible, anything from 1024 by 768 to 1280 by 1084. Anything higher than this will probably make some things too small to read on your screen, although the degree of detail will be higher.

    Thanks for the reply, been in contact with BT by calling 100 and connecting via broadband sales and spoke to someone in the UK - OMG SO COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!
    He looked at the new order placed which I could also see on my BT account and relates to the request I have been waiting for over a week now for our interleaving to be switched off to connect with a latency of Fast.
    The chap discussed with me various different reasons why connection speeds may be slow which is down to the BT's Network Traffic Monitoring and speeds will vary at any point of the day.
    He mentioned that the 4 services that have most priorities are
    BT Vision
    Voip
    Gaming
    General Internet use
    I asked him if BT have something similar to what Plus Net have regarding speeds for various Internet applications e.g. Video Streaming at say 5PM will be 1mb, 7PM will be 512 and so on.  He said no, this is because of the amount of speed that is available from the exchange to the customers connected at the time when you are on the Internet.  Simple. However, would be nice to see what we should expect and not calling if it is a fault ;-|
    He also mentioned a game that he used on his PC where for some reason was using two ports, one gaming and one Internet.  He advised that the ping on the Internet port was over 4000ms and he passed this to his IT tech team who studied the game etc and advised why it was slow.  Some games like football games may use conventional ports where as some use actual gaming ports which are prioritised.
    He provided me with more information which i wanted to hear and answred my query within half an hour, i have been speaking with BT India for the last week and waisted more than 3 hours!
    BT, Please bring back BT UK, or make BT India have more experience in Broadband and understand what we are asking!

    You have to get help of you ABAPer to create a BAPI which is small program. You have specify the text file in which all your required values for Sales order is maintained.

    Im really not sure, i suggest gettin it from the apple store, i ordered my 5g online 10/17 and on 10/19 was still porcessing called my apple store b4 and they said they didnt have it, called back on the 10/19 out of curiosity and they now have a "signifcant amount" in stock as i was told. Immediately cancelled online order and went to the apple store later that day and got my 5g, goin on 3 days now 1567 songs, 14 Music Videos, 1 Tv Show (Prison Break S01E01). And still growing, front screen still has plastic, and back has 4 hairline scratches already(not noticeable), awating invisble sheild. Whats funny about scratches you have no idea when or where it happened no matter how hard you try and take care of it.

    This site has the download for 2.2 although I waited for the OTA.  It also has the beta flash, but again I'll just wait for an official release.  But when you read through the site they recommend you clear your home screens before you update.  Whether it really should be done or not I don't know but I did it and my upgrade has gone flawlessly.  If it helps with a cleaner install it's worth it.  Plus you are going to want to reorganize your screens since you are getting 5 of them anyway.

    Pretty much just bragging rights for the nerd world.  A higher score doesn't necessarily mean it's a better phone.  Unless the devices are running the same apps, settings, etc it's a relatively pointless number other than saying mine is bigger than yours.  Below is the Quadrant score of my Droid running at 1GHz from a while back.  Does that mean it's better than the N1, Shadow/Droid X or Galaxy S? not really

    I am going to be ordering BT Infinity soon once I get back from holiday.
    My contract with my currect ISP doesn't end until the 8th of September.
    When should I order as I am told there is a wait for engineers? Or can I not order until the day of end for the contract?

    If you really want Infinity ASAP just order it now and pay the extra month to your old ISP?

    for that do like:
    A transaction with a variant can have its own transaction code, which you can then use to execute the transaction with the appropriate variant.
    To create a variant transaction, proceed as follows:
    Choose Goto ® Create vari. trans. from the initial transaction variant maintenance screen.
    Enter a transaction name and corresponding short text. Transaction type Variant transaction is already set. The following screen already contains default values for the name of the calling transaction, the variant name, and the client-specific or cross-client variant checkbox.
    Save your entries.
    Example:
    Variant ABC has been defined for transaction Z000. We now want to create the variant transaction ZVAR.
    Name of the new transaction: ZVAR
    Name of the calling transaction: Z000
    Name of the variant: ABC
    Transaction ZVAR starts transaction Z000 with variant ABC.
    If the variant specified for a variant transaction does not exist (in the current client), then the calling transaction will be started without variant.

  • After upgrading to Mavericks MacBook hangs at "Setting Up Your Mac" screen

    After upgrade install of Mavericks, and logging in successfully one time my MacBook (aluminum unibody late 2008) now hangs at the "Setting Up Your Mac" screen after logging in with password. I can restart the unit with the power button but same thing happens. I powered off the unit, removed the battery and held the power button down for 30 seconds, re-installed the battery and restarted the unit but same thing happens.

    Hold the Power button to turn off your computer and turn it on again. Then, see if Mavericks can start up.
    If not, hold Command and R keys while your computer is starting and reinstall Mac OS X
