Option to change a Subject Line in a Forum question

Hello,
In Forums, many times I see that people create duplicate questions because after posting a question and getting some responses, they realize that the Subject Line is not descriptive enough .
e.g
/thread/1520926 [original link is broken]
/thread/1519271 [original link is broken]
I personally feel that if we provide an option to a question's owner to change the subject line at any point of time( even after many replies) if needed, it could avoid some duplications in questions.
(Let me know if its already there and I dint know about this feature

Hi Pooja,
You can change the title and the post itself, but you need to realize the mistake.
If I remember correctly, you have 15 minutes time for this.
There were some strategists in the past who posted "place holders" or went back and edited their posts once someone had provided a better solution. This is not main the intention of the forums and sharing you knowledge at the time of posting.
My recommendation is to do a quick check on the OP before answering by checking their recent posts via the user profile, and if you find the question interesting but are not sure about aspects of it, then don't rush in but take your time to work it out.
A respectfull OP should appreciate this, and the quality of the discussion around the solution.
Personally, I have also learnt very valuable skills from SDN when someone stepped in to say "Sorry Julius, but that is a legacy approach and you can now use XYZ..." or "That is bad advise, because you have not considered ABC.." etc.
Such discussions are worth gold to everyone, and there is nothing wrong with making "innocent" mistakes.

How do I change the subject line on incoming email

On my old PC I could easily start typing in the subject line of a received email. This would allow me to search for a name later on when looking for an invoice. I dont know how to change the subject line of an incoming email to my imac?

This site tells you how to edit the subject of a message. I just tested using OS X 10.8.5 and it worked, without altering the time & date stamp, or the original sender info.

Steps copied below:
Drag and drop the desired message out of Mac OS X Mail onto the Desktop.
Ctrl-click on the message copy on the Desktop.
Select Open With | TextEdit from the menu.
Make the desired changes to the message source.To change a message's subject, look for "Subject:" at the beginning of a line starting from the top. (hint, you can use 'Command-F' to bring up a search window to help you find the "Subject").
Close TextEdit saving the document.
Ctrl-click on the message on the Desktop again.
Select Open With | Mail from the menu this time.
Now select Message | Copy To followed by the message's original folder from the menu in Mac OS X Mail.
Close the message window.
Delete the message copy from your Desktop.
Optionally, delete the original message in Mac OS X Mail. (when I tested this, the original message was no longer there. Not sure what happened to it, but the changes worked without editing the time, date, or original sender information.)

Change Email subject line for PDF output through smartforms

Currently i am working in Client ECC6.and we are useing The Smartform for Sending PDF document to the Customer.
Since recently email was setup so these invoices can be mailed directly to the customers, but we face the problem that when invoices are sent via email, the subject is like this.

I set up an autoreply but i cannot work out how to change the subject line to the one I want

I set up an automatic reply but the subject line come up as re: and what the other person wrote. I want to change the subject line to a set one to all emails. How can I do that?

Sometimes I save an email and want to revise the subject line so it's more descriptive of what's actually in the message. I remember being able to do this in Outlook, but can't quite figure out how to do it in Apple Mail. (And I don't want o have to forward it to myself, as that changes the From line.)

Actually, MailTags will kind of do what you want. You can tag a message in a number of ways, and one of them is to make a note, and display that note as the subject of the email. For example, I have a message:

Which actually contains useful information, so in MailTags I make a note "Pablo's Thesis Results" and click "Show as Subject", and now I see the subject as

SAP Version to be added in the subject line while posting a question.

Hi,
We all have been posting and answering thousands of questions on the SDN. Many times I have seen moderators asking the person who posted a question to use a correct and informative subject line.
With respect to that, I would like to suggest the moderators to add a rule in the rules of engagement asking the users to provide the SAP Version in the subject line while posting questions.
This way the person answering the question can appropriately provide information based on that version only and would save the time and effort of everyone.
Example subject line can be :
ECC 6.0 Function module xyz is not returning correct results.
I would like to know the opinion of other users too on what they think about this suggestion.

In theory - a very good idea.
In practice - hard to enforce.
On second thoght, it could be a required parameter. It might have the added benefit of dissuading questions from people who can't figure out which version they have

Subject line on discussion forums.

When using my phone to post on boards like this. It tells me I have to enter something in the subject line and won't let me post.
Even if there is something posted in the subject line it still thinks its blank.

What browser are you using?
I have not have this happen with IE 8 yet.

Billing output by mail changing the subject line

i am sending the billing output by email, but the subject of the email getting changed regularly. my requirement is i have to set standard subject for all billing output by mail.

Go to Tcode - NACE - Choose V3 - Choose 'output types' on the application toolbar
- select output type - 'double click on mail and texts' at left hand side. See if you can add anything there and checck the mail.

How to change the Subject line of the mail when PO is sent to a vendor

Hi,
I wanted to send PO through Email.All the settings have been done and the output goes fine.
I wanted to change the text in the title and hence have set the programme as SAPMM06E and Form Routine as TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE .
After setting ,NAST table is picking the text under TDCOVTITLE field as desired.But in the SOST queue ,it is not updating correctly.The PO number is not appearing and is giving some default number.
Why it is not updating in SOST queue ,whereas the NAST table is picking the desired text?
Please let me know if some more settings are to be made in output types or somewhere else?

I want to change subject line and save emails from others

For instance my client may respond to an email question and I want to change the subject line because it includes an answer such as clients address, but I cannot figure out how to change the subject line and save it to my file folder I have for them.

Change subject line of Email sent through "spool recipient functionality".

A batch job creates a spool, which is send through Email using spool recipient functionality. The subject line of the Email is as follows
"Job<job name>, Step <step no.>".
Is it possible to change the subject line of the Email?

check the program name for job.
If the program is Custom program(starting with Z or Y) then you can easily change subject line of email.
If it is standard program then we have to look for alter path.

Change subject line of email when submitting a form using Acrobat X Pro

I have created an interactive PDF in Acrobat X PRO with a submit a form button. Everything works fine all the way through distribution except that I need the Subject Line of the submitted form when attached to an email to read "Form Returned: File Name" rather than "Submitting Completed Form". All of my past forms had the "Form Returned: File Name" subject line automatically...did something change and is it possible to change the subject line? Any help would be much appreciated.

Looking in other places I have tried a few things unsuccessfully. I did find this, which I thought would be even better than Form Returned: File Name in the subject line...actually taking information from fields in the form:

PO Subject Line Change

Hi SAP Gurus,
My client wants to change the PO Subject Line for Automail triggered to vendor when PO is sent.
I have made the necessary changes in Message output Type ZINV in Mail Title and Text with new subject line.
Then i created the PO and automatically by assignment Message output Type ZINV got selected and saved PO. Automatically mail got triggered to vendor with OLD subject Line which i checked BY SOST Tcode.
Again i created the PO and this time I manually added the same Message output Type ZINV in PO and mail got triggered to vendor with NEW subject Line..
My question is why this happening. When message o/p type is selected automatically in PO mail gets triggered with OLD subject line and when we add up the same message o/p type manually mail gets triggered with NEW subject Line.
I want to have NEW subject Line when the message o/p type is selected automatically while PO.
Why this happening? Am i missing something.....?

If there is no condition record maintained then how come sytem is determinig the message type. are you working on the same PO, Please check all the key combinations being used if there is any condition record exist.
