Optional variables within report  not shown on portal

Hello,
I have got following phenomenon:
I created a report with the Report Designer. This report contains different queries that all use the same optional variable. Our first tries showed the selection screen for this variable within the portal.
After we changed the technical name and the description and published it into portal again the selection for the optioanl variable isn't shown anymore.
It's no general problem because on queries for example the optional variables are shown.
Has anybody an idea what could be the problem and how we can solve it?
Greetings & thanks
Bettina

Hello,
if I execute the report within the Report Designer there occurs a drop down menu on the variable screen "Available variants:" with on item "Report with variable".
I can save this variant - but it's not possible to choose this special variant for publishing into portal (ok, maybe it works but my first tries didn't work). Do you have an idea how this setting can be used in portal??
Greetings & thanks
Bettina

  • Print option in iview tray not shown

    Hi all;
I have a WebDynpro JAVA application embedded in an iview . The iview configuration has its "show Tray" option set to true and the "show Print option" in Tray also turned to true. The problem is that when i navigate to the iview, the print option is never shown in the Tray.
Does anyone know why the Print option in Tray is not shown?
I´m working with SAP Netweaver 2004s
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Printing from Web Dynpro for Java is only supported from NWCE and 7.2 onwards, if I remember correctly
    See http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW73/SPS01/CE/wdr/com.sap.wdr/com/sap/tc/webdynpro/clientserver/print/api/IWDPrintService.html for more info
However, you could recreate your table using html/jsp, and open the rendered JSP in a popup. This way you should be able to use javascript print function, see /people/sap.user72/blog/2006/05/04/enhancing-tables-in-webdynpro-java-150-custom-built-table-utilities
As for exporting your context data to Excel, have a look at this article

  • BI Administration Cockpit - Queries not shown in portal

    Hi,
Has anyone experienced the following problem:
    - The BI Admin. Cockpit has been installed according to instructions without errors
    - The technical content as well as the process chains are working and data is being collected from the objects pointed in RSDDSTAT
    - The Business Pacakge "BI Administration 1.0" has been installed.
    - Both roles (BI Admin. & System Admin.) have been assigned in portal and BI Admin -role has been assigned to user in SSM.
    - The BI Admin. tab page is visible in portal and all of the IViews and pages are available in the portal content.
    - If the queries or the templates are executed from BEx or WAD they are populated with data and everything is working as it should be.
    - Even when executing the IViews or pages (f.ex. No. of BI Application Executions per User) in PREVIEW -mode from Portal Content Studio the reports are shown correctly.
HOWEVER: If one navigates to BI-Admin tab --> BI Usage Statistics --> BI Application Usage Statistics -report, both of the expected reports are just missing. The only things that are shown are the templates (tab strip and buttons) but the queries are missing.
There are no error messages etc. Please advice how to proceed with further investigations?
    -Miikka

It's exactly my issue at the moment.
    Hi Miikka.
You wrote: "Both roles (BI Admin. & System Admin.) have been assigned in portal and BI Admin -role has been assigned to user in SSM."  and afterwards you wrote, the solution was "to being activate them"
    My questions:
1.) Sorry, but what means "SSM"?
2.) As I red in the help, it's not needed to assign the BI-Admin to the role "System Admin" when you assign the role SAP_BW_BI_ADMINISTRATOR to the User and additionally set the feature "Accessability" within the role.
Does it only work with assigning the role "System Admin" as well ?
3.) What does ist means, "to being activate them"? There's no Activation forseen after assigning the roles to the Users. So what do you mean ?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

i have a web page which uses around 10 session variables to store values on a button click.and after assign session values Response.Redirect("~/url",false); to a a page which contains crystal report viewer.and report should show those session values.after keeping the application idle for 45 mins i click on the button which assign session values.then it's redirecting to the report page but the report is not shown.it shows a empty page and no errors shown(only happens application is idle for nearly 45 mins other wise works fine)
    i'm using iis 7
in the web.config i have set sessionState timeout="60" and application pool idle time out to 60 mins.
    any idea why this happens

Make sure you are on SP 8
Make sure you are using .Close and .Dispose on your report objects as you get done with them.
    What OS? (2003, 2008, 2012)
Provide more info on the following:
The problem is that the Crystal Report Viewer does not load after a few hours.
What does that mean? Errors? Warnings? Behavior? Symptoms?

  • BEx variables restricted value not shown

    Hello,
I have 2 variables defined and used in a query. I put both these characteristics as global filters.
When the query is run, a popup screen allows user to input these 2 variable values.
The navigation block in the worksheet shows only 1 of the 2 variables values entered by the user. That is, only the restricted value for one variable is shown. The other is not shown. The result is, however, correct.
Not sure why is it so. Hope to get some clues.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Mirella Russo

    Dear AVR,
    Thanks for the reply.
I placed the period and year infoobjects restricted by their respective variables in the free characteristics area but still the filtered values are not showing, although the period and year characteristics for filtering are shown as normal in the navigation block.
I have several other reports also using the same period and year variables in free char or global filter section without such 'anomaly'.
I noted that this problem report has columns restricted also by period and year variables. In fact, the year variable is an offset of -1. Is the problem caused by this restriction?
I tried creating a new query of the same design. The problem is replicated.
I hope you can throw me some more clues.
    Appreciate it very much.
    Thank you.
    Best regards,

  • How to deactivate the rosetta option if it is not shown in information page

    Hi,
by accident or why ever I clicked the option "start with rosetta" on my eyetv.app. STRANGE now the option is no longer viewable in information field and I can't start the application inside of the application folder because I get then the message "EyeTV can't run under Rosetta-Emulation" please deactivate the Option via Menu Ablage and unmark the option. BUT I can't see this option in information field. AND if i try to start the eyetv.app in an folder outside of applications it works.
    Anyone an idea

    Hi,
thank you for the hint with command+i BUT THIS DOES NOT help of course, because I already wrote that I used this.
I solved it now in different way which leads to a general question that somewhere the osx seems to note versions of programs and how to open them.
Description of this issue now in detail:
    - I installed EyeTV in Version 3.0 on OSX 10.6 and started it.
    - a message appears that this program is not made for this OSX version (it was made for 10.5)
    - stupidly Elgato has no direct access to update from 3.0 to 3.1.2 which works with 10.6 WHICH means EyeTV has a buildin update BUT is useless if you can't start this app
    - OK this leads me to idea to enable the "Start with Rosetta option"
    - Didn't work
    - I took then an 3.1.2 Version from my TimeMachine Backup and copied it over the old ones
    - tried to start it and the message appear "This cannot run in Rosetta Mode"
    - HERE IT COMES the little option field where you can disable or enable Rosetta in the information of the eyetv 3.1.2 is not shown so I was unable to disable it of course
    - so i copied the file to a different directory and it works there normally
    - ..... AFTER 2 hours i remembered that I had set the "Start with Rosetta" option on version 3.0 and the Snow Leopard seems to have noted this somewhere and i need a trick to see this option and the only way is to use a version 3.0 file maybe the option will appear there again
    - ok copied Version 3.0 over the 3.1.2
    - AND AH the rosetta option appears and was enabled and I had here the possibility to disable or unmark it
    - then copy back the 3.1.2 Eyetv version file and AH it runs
So imagine that someone else uses today an application which really needs rosetta, and a user activates this and after some month a Snow Leopard 64bit version comes and nobody tells the user to deactivate the rosetta version on old package before installing new one.... poor user, I guess the 64bit version will tell the crap "This application can't run under rosetta" and the user will never find the way to disable it.
Hope there is a better way to find out for which application in which version was set the "start with rosetta" option in the system.
IF ANYONE KNOWS PLEASE let me know

  • Table created in visual studio not shown in portal

i created a table in vs2013 for my azure sql database.
the update completed successfully so the new table must be up there somewhere,
but when i go to the portal, it is not shown.
    why?

    Hi,
Based on your description, you have seen the database update has been completed successfully from data tool operations, as far as I know, it means that your azure sql database has been updated, and the table you created must exist in azure portal,
I tried on my side, everything worked as except, please check your azure sql connection, and clean cookies and sessions, then open azure sql management portal again.

  • BI Reports not displaying in portal

    Hello,
When exceuting BI WAD Reports in backend, its giving proper output....while report is executing, showing portal path...but when i log into portal and search for the iview...i couldnt find any iview.
do i need to configure anything to get those reports in portal automatically?
    thanks & regards,
    Venkat

    Venkat,
You have to create a SAP BW iview in content admin.
Inside the iView you have to mention the Template id in the query string parameter.
or otherwise you can use Application integrator parameter in this iview then pass
the Template id from your service.

  • F4 input help on Variable screen is not working on Portal

    Dear Experts,
We are facing one issue when we run the WAD report on portal, variable screen gets hang after clicking on input help button (F4) for couple of variables. We are facing same issues when we run the base queries on portal. But when we run the same base queries in RSRT (Tcode) or in BEx Analyzer we are not facing this issue and able to get the input help screen with values.
I also have gone through some old posts related to such issues but didn't help much. We are already on SAP BW 7.4 SP Level 008 and for Char IO Query Filter Value setting is kept as "Values in Master Data Table" only. This is a MD IO with Compounding.
Kindly let me know if anyone has faced such issue.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Nilesh

    Dear Martin,
There is a no long running work process in the backend and data volume is more in Master Data Table, there are around 19 Lacks records available.
For BI Java patch and defaultTrace for errors I will check it with BASIS Admin team. Unfortunately I don’t have rights to do same.
    Thanks,
    Nilesh

  • ApEx 4: after upgrade, "when no data found" message on report not shown

I have a page that displays a tabular form. Initially, the table is empty, and so I have text in the "when no data found" block of the report attributes.
After upgrading to ApEx 4, this text is no longer shown when no results are returned. It displays the table header, but no rows. So for some reason, it thinks data is being returned -- even though the table is completely empty. I've tried several permutations, but have not been able to find a workaround.
I'll try to set up a standalone page, but I can provide a pointer to the existing page on apex.oraclecorp.com on request.
UPDATE: I think this may be related to the bug I reported on tabular forms.
Is it possible that the empty, hidden row we are adding now counts as a returned row, even though the SELECT statement returned nothing? And thus the report never thinks that there is no data found? This would also explain why it's displaying the table headers, even though no rows are visible.
Edited by: kswartz on Jul 8, 2010 12:18 AM

Interesting. I didn't see anything about this change in behavior in the Release Notes. Did I miss something? It definitely didn't do this in 3.2.
Overall, I think that's actually a very non-obvious change. Seeing a set of table headers with nothing below it looks to me like a mistake. Why would you ever show headers for something when you have no rows? In fact, I thought that was a bug the minute I saw it. With due respect, I don't think the new design is less desirable from a usability perspective than the old one.
It also doesn't work as you described regarding the proportions: in my case, the columns in the header row did not match the sizes of the columns as I defined them. Although I didn't place anything beside the tabular form, if I had, it would still alter the layout when "Add Rows" is clicked. If you know what the size of those columns is supposed to be (because they are text fields of size xyz, for instance), why wouldn't you define the header cells to use that information? You won't get it exact most of the time, but you can get close, if they're all text fields of specific width.
Plus, there's nothing on the Report Attributes tab that indicates the "When No Data Found" option won't apply if you are using a tabular form. The textareas should be disabled -- and at the very least, the on-line help should be mentioning this. It doesn't mention anything about this only applying to standard reports.
Finally, I think you should also put this in the Release Notes, because this requires changes to any application where someone with a tabular form required this. In one case, that was where I provided instructions to users entering data for the first time. Now I have to move it. (Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know that in advance.) On another page, I put a JavaScript block in there to submit and automatically add a row, because I wanted there to always be a blank row if nothing had been entered -- and that was the easiest way. Okay, granted, that's probably not something you intended to support, but there was nothing wrong with it, technically. And, again, it's fixed by moving that block to the header instead and testing for the number of rows in the table -- easy, now that you provide JQuery for us -- but still manual migration work.
    Thanks for the explanation.

  • APEX Interactive Report not shown complete on production system

    Hello,
I have a problem with my Apex 4.1.1 application on customers production server.
On our development system (Oracle 11.2.0.3) the Apex IR with the query down below delivers 1.500 rows and the page loading is finished after 3 seconds.
On our customers production system (Oracle 11.1.0.7) the same IR shows only the first 800 rows and then page loading runs endless. When i add a pagination with 500 rows everything works fine.
When i execute the Query in SQL Workshop the 1500 rows are delivered on both systems within 0,4 seconds.
    What could be the problem?
