Problem with 'BACK' option for ALV grid
Hi Friends,
I'm using FM, REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY in my report.
Once I got an ALV output, when I press the BACK button,
it's going to blank sceen again when I press BACK am getting selection screen.
From output am not able to goto the selection screen. Kindly suggest on this issue.

"Select Layout" Option for ALV Report
Hi All,
I have developed a ALV report.
In the output, on clicking the "Select Layout" button, a small window opens with some layout option/variant say "ZSLEB".
When i choose this layout, the output changes and takes the form of the chosen layout i.e. ZSLEB.
Now, on refresh, the alv output doesnt display this new layout, but goes back to the default layout/variant.
Actually, i am not passing anythin to the IS_Variant parameter in the ALV_GRID_Display FM.
I suppose i need to somehow manage to fetch the "ZSLEB" layout value during refresh and pass it to Is_Variant. Please help me in doing this.

Output print options for alv which has more than 30 cloumns

if an alv output(oops or normal ) has 30 coloumns in the output,
if i give print option in the spool i check it will have only 13 coloumns generated other coloumns are not at displayed. how to get all the coloumns print in the spool if alv has more than 30 coloumns.

Layout change and save for ALV report
Hi,
I ahve created R3 report in which report has been displayed using ALV grid, I am able to change the layout as I can see the layout -> change option in settings menu, but save and choose option is disabled.
Please advise how to enable layoutr save and choose option for ALV grid.

According to sap help you need authorization to save Layout
[ALV -Layout|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32/helpdata/en/82/839d37664e4d45e10000009b38f8cf/content.htm]
To save layouts for all users, you need the authorization S_ALV_LAYO with activity 23 as of Release 4.6C. You can only go to the layout administration if you have this authorization.
You must maintain the authorization object S_ALV_LAYO using the user administration.
If you would like to use or save the Excel view in your layout, you also require the additional authorization S_BDS_DS with activity 01,02,03,06,30; CLASSNAME ALVLAYOUTTEMPLATES and CLASSTYPE OT.
Furthermore, there are applications that have their own authorization checks installed.
In some ALV lists, you can only save user-specific layouts. In these cases, the indicator "user-specific" is active , on a grey background and unable to be changed. This is related to the parameter I_SAVE. This controls which options you have to save the layout.
To be able to define default layouts, the parameter I_DEFAULT must have the value 'X'.
Notes 409190 and 601803 also provide further information on authorizations. -

Is there any way to enable Save layout(Ctrl+F10) option for Block ALV?As i cannot see any option to do so with Reuse_*Block like i_save in Grid and For list ALVs...FM.And its by default it is Disable.

i need to add coloums for the existing report which picks from G/L account.
in this report I need to add some more columns from COSP-KSTAR, which shows the cost element details from G/L account.
I need to restrict that cost element number according to the company code.
Plz see this and let me know the things.
1. I need to add FISCAL YEAR(COEP-GJAHR) in selection screen.
2. I need to add column: Employee Cost (CSKS-KOSTL)
3. add a column Staff Welfare (COSP-KSTAR) this is to restrict for the cost element 3000200 from G/L account
4. add a column Recruitment restrict for the cost element(COSP-KSTAR) 3100040 from G/L account
5. add a column Travels (suppressing some cost elements(COSP-KSTAR) and putting into Travels)
6. add a column Subcontracts restrict for the cost element (COSP-KSTAR)3100360 from G/L account
7. add a column Communication suppressing some cost elements and putting into Communication)
8. add a column Rent restrict for the cost element (COSP-KSTAR)3100055 from G/L account

It is not possible to save layout in BLock ALV display but possible to change layout. There is no parameter to save. It is not possible to store the layout as it has several structure.

The heading are in the table pt_fcat - you don't seem to be passing that in form....

Cant use Export to Excel functionality for ALV if I add a custom button

I have added a custom button the the ALV toolbar by creating a GUI status and using the USER_COMMAND event. However. Now I dont the get the standard ALV toolbar with all the options for sorting, exporting to excel etc.
Can someone show me how I can do both, add my own button to the toolbar as well as use ALV Grid toolbar. Currently the ALV grid standard toolbar has disappeared

I am not sure how you are creating your ALV report. If you are using FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY there is a parameter callled I_CALLBACK_PF_STATUS . Read the documentation for this field from the doc for the FM. It tells you to copy a standard PF status from fucn group SLVC_FULLSCREEN and then add your new button to that staus.
If you are using class CL_SALV_MODEL_BASE there is a method called set_screen_status that lets you do a similar thing - copy an existing PF status and add your button.

Multiple Filtering options within ALV Output.
Hi All,
Being a Functional Guy,I would like to clarify few questions in ALV functionality. In one of our requirement we need to create a ALV report.
Step1 : Enter values in selection criteria.
Step2: Execute ALV report.
Step3: Within Output I should be able to filters for a particular column. For example: We have a column as Country.In the Column can I select or enter India,US,UK and output should only contain only US,UK,India.
Step4: Within output We have columns Country and State , can we enter values like Texas in State, US in country in the filter will the output will have only values with Texas & US.
Can you guys advice if Step 3 & step 4 is possible in ALV.

Yes, you can hae the filtering options for all the columns of the ALV..if you can see there is a stadnard filter functionality available
for ALV that comes by default..
When you show the output in alv these default filter is already avaibale..first try to test it out..
Just go through the ALV documetns..filter is already there..for your output you will get the result..
