Options in infopackage

Hi All,
I have noticed that there are 3 options in populating the selection criteria in the data selection tab in an infopackage.
They are
1. ABAP routine
2. OLAP variable
3. Free temporal selection.
I have an idea about the ABAP routine, but have no idea about the other two options. Can anyone please explain me in detail or atleast provide me any links the documents related to this.
Points are assured.
Thanks in advance...

  • ABAP Routine  for 0FISCPER  slect options in InfoPackage

    Hi,
I am trying to write an ABAP Routine for 0FISCPER as select options (range) dynamically.
    Ex:
0FISCPER selection for this year as 001.2008 to 012.2008
0FISCPER selection for next year as 001.2009 to 012.2009.
Now  we are changing InfoPackage every year manually, so I need to write a routine for 0FISCPER in InfoPackage to handle dynamically every year
    Thanks,
    SK.

    Hi
write an ABAP routine to get that value..But are you getting any planned data(why you want till end of the year...till infopackage runs is o.k i think, if you don't have planned data)...Any way you can check the below code, which can be useful...
You can see the below code at->your infopackage selections>Ty-->choose variable type as 6 and enter any ABAP routine name( to create) and then there is a button on the application tool bar called 'routine info'..this give you the following information...
    Definition
You can define complex selections for InfoPackages and control the automatic deletion of requests from InfoCubes in the scheduler, by using routines.
Routines are processing blocks in ABAP programs that consist of a pre-defined data declaration section and an ABAP subroutine (form routine). In the subroutine you can use all of the ABAP programming functions.
You can use the following routines for making selections in InfoPackages:
    1. Selection routines for fields, on the Data Selection tab page
    2. Selection routines for file names, on the External Data tab page
    3. Selection Routines for selecting the from and to dates for time-dependent data, on tab page Update
    4. Selection routines for determining old requests to be deleted after successfully loading a new request, on the Data Target tab page
    Program frame:
After you have called up the Editor for routine maintenance, you get the following program frame:
    1. Selection routines for fields, on tab page Data Selection:
    program conversion_routine.
'$*$ begin of global - insert your declaration only below this line -
    TABLES: ...
    DATA:   ...
$$ end of global - insert your declaration only before this line    -
    FORM COMPUTE_<Fieldname>
      tables l_t_range structure rssdlrange
      changing p_subrc like sy-subrc.
$$ begin of routine - insert your code only below this line       -
      data: l_idx like sy-tabix.
            read table l_t_range with key
                 fieldname = <Fieldname>.
            l_idx = sy-tabix.
            modify l_t_range index l_idx.
            p_subrc = 0.
$$ end of routine - insert your code only before this line       -
    ENDFORM.
    2. Selection routines for file names, on tabstrip External Data:
    FORM compute_flat_file_filename
         changing p_filename like rsldpsel-filename
              p_subrc like sy-subrc.
$$ begin of routine - insert your code only below this line-
              p_filename =
              p_subrc = 0.
$$ end of routine - insert your code only before this line-
    ENDFORM.
    3. Selection routines for selecting the from and to date for time-dependent data, on tabstrip Update:
    form compute_time_dependent_dates
         changing p_datefrom type d
                  p_dateto   type d
               p_subrc like sy-subrc.
$$ begin of routine - insert your code only below this line-
              p_datefrom =
              p_dateto   =
              p_subrc = 0.
$$ end of routine - insert your code only before this line-
    ENDFORM.
    4. Routines for determining the old requests to be deleted after successfully loading a new request, on tab page Data Targets:
    form compute_<InfoCube-Name>
      tables l_t_request_to_delete structure rsreqdelstruc
      using l_request like rsreqdone-rnr
      changing p_subrc like sy-subrc.
*Insert Source Code to decide if requests should be deleted.
*All Requests in table l_t_request_to_delete will be deleted
    *from Infocube <InfoCube-Name>.
*Add new requests if you want to delete more (from this cube).
*Remove requests you did not want to be deleted.
$$ begin of routine - insert your code only below this line-
         loop at l_t_request_to_delete.
         endloop.
         clear p_subrc.
$$ end of routine - insert your code only before this line-
    ENDFORM.
    Note:
Those fields flagged with <...> are dependent on the selection fields and are filled automatically by the system when you call up the Editor.
    Procedure
    Make the following entries:
    1. Between $$ begin of global ... and $$ end of global ... you can define data declarations. These are the declaration sections for the local data in the routine. This data is only visible in the routines.
    2. The subroutines begin with FORM and end with ENDFORM.
The subroutines for the particular routines are:
Selection routines for fields on tab page Data Selection: FORM COMPUTE_<Field name>
Selection routines for file names on tab page External Data : FORM compute_flat_file_filename
Selection routines for selecting the from and to dates for time-dependent data on tab page Update: FORM compute_time_dependent_dates
Routines for determining old requests to be deleted after successfully loading a new request on tab page Data Target: FORM COMPUTE_<InfoCube-Name>
The subprograms have the following parameters:
    Subprogram FORM COMPUTE_<Field name>:
    l_t_range
In the table l_t_range the routines for all selection fields that are filled, or have a routine, are made available.
The routines are executed in the scheduler last of all and therefore, you can change all the selections that you have carried out previously.
    p_subrc
Using the variable p_subrc you can report errors to the scheduler. p_subrc <> 0 signals an error and means the data request is terminated.
    Subprogram FORM compute_flat_file_filename:
    p_filename:
You give the name of the file that is to be loaded in parameter p_filename.
This is useful if your file name contains date dependencies that should be determined by sy-datum and calculated during runtime.
    p_subrc
You can inform the scheduler of an error with variable p_subrc. p_subrc <> 0 signals an error and means that the data request is terminated.
    Subprogram FORM compute_time_dependent_dates:
    p_datefrom and p_dateto
Fill these parameters with the from and to dates for time-dependent master data and texts.
    p_subrc
You can inform the scheduler about an error using variable >LS>p_subrc. p_subrc <> 0 signals an error and means the data request is terminated.
    Subprogram FORM COMPUTE_<InfoCube-Name>:
    l_t_request_to_delete
You give the request number of the request that is to be deleted in parameter l_t_request_to_delete. You can also delete requests from the table. These are then not deleted.
    p_subrc
You can inform the scheduler about an error with the variable p_subrc. p_subrc  signals an error and means the data request is terminated.
    3. Insert your program code for the routines between $$ begin of routine ... and $$ end of routine ... so that the respective subprogram variables are supplied with the corresponding values.
    4. Check the syntax of your routine with the Check function.
    5. You can then transfer the routine with the Save function.
You end routine maintenance when you exit the Editor.
    Hope it helps
    Thanks,
    Teja

  • Detete content of the cube option in infopackage not visible

    Hi All,
We are using BW7.0. I have a requirement and where I have to create infopackge and DTP. When I load every time it has deleted the content of the Cube and load the data to the data target. I have the option to delete the content of the cube in the process types of process chains. But I donu2019t want to use the process chain and with out process chain I need to achieve this requirement.
Can any one suggest me to achieve this?
    Thanks
    Sravs

    Hello,
Please note that with BI 7 the concept of data loading has changed.
The infopackage no longer pertains to the data target.
So there is no way of achieving this using infopackage.
Its SAP recommended methodology to use process chain. Any reasons why you cant use it.

  • Regarding selction options in infopackage

    Dear experts,
I want to filter from source 5000 Purchase orders for load (Since loading all will dramatically increase the load time and not needed)
Is it possible for me to restrict it for 5000 POs at infopackage level? Is  manual entry the only way or I can do it by loading a file containing the PO list  or by selecting from a list..
    Thanks in advance.
    Rajarathnam.S

    Hi,
    Check it in RSCUSTV6 Tcode.
If you have specific number range , then you can write Routine in InfoPackage for PO char.
    Thanks

  • Infopackages and IPG--- Scheduling Options

    Hi, BI Experts
Suppose there is a infopackage with a specified after event in its scheduling options and may be with some subsequent process.
And this infopackage is also scheduled through IPG (or Process Chain) -
immediate start at particular time i.e. it should start at particular time.
Then What will happen in IPG (or Process Chain) when scheduled time comes.
Will it wait for the after event present in scheduling options of infopackage or it will directly start the infopackage as on time of IPG (or Process Chain) .
Please explain in detail and also explain concepts may b related to this.

    Hi Arun,
Settings in Process chain takes effects. Process chain settings overwrites infopackage settings.
P.S : Its advisable to use different infopackages.
    Hope it Helps

  • Problem in seeing the details in Monitor of Infopackage......

    Hi,
I am doing INIT without data transfer.
When I go in monitor and try to see the details I not able to see any thing , its not displaying any of the TABS of monitor like Hedear , Status and Details.
When I go to data target and try to open from again it dont displays anything.
Can anybody let me know if have faced similar problem?
    Thanks , Jeetu

    Hi Jeetu,
Please can U check the Scheduling options inthe Infopackage screen, plz ensure that the job has been scheduled either immediately or to a specific time period.
If it was a immediate run, plz check the job status in SM37 for both source system and BW.  If the job has ran successfully then you should get some logs for that, U will not find logs unless until the job hasn't ran (or) started.
    Hope this should help U.

  • Execute Infopackage Through BAPI Using Excel Macro (BAPI_IPAK_START)

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem when execute infopackage through BAPI using excel macro. I have create a button in macro. When this button is clicked, BAPI for trigger InfoPackage will executed (BAPI_IPAK_START) and this button will disabled.
After this process completely done (traffic indicator for the request is green in update rules), the button will enabled again.
Here the subroutine or pseudocode that i will write :
    Private Sub ClickButton()
    Begin
    1. ThisButton.Activated = False   --> Disabled Button
    2. Call BAPI/custom Function Module to execute InfoPackage (BAPI_IPAK_START)
    4. ThisButton.Activated = True   --> Enabled Button
    End
The problem is i need some statement like this between statement no 2 and statement no 4
    Statement That I Want :
    3. Wait Until BAPI Execute Completely
So user can click this button again only after the process is finished completely. I don't know how to do this in macro (in ABAP i know i can use "WAIT ... SECOND"), others said this can be done using event in schedule option at infopackage. Anyone, please help me.
    Thank you.

  • BI 7.0 delta problem in infopackage - DTP

I have my DTP set as delta going to a DSO.
    FLOW -
Generic data source (numeric pointer) to DSO to cube.
How do I setup infopackages between data source (PSA) and source system.....
In infopackage, I am getting only 2 options -- Init or full load. How do create delta infopackages...
    Thanks.
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,
U need to maintain a separate Infopackge for the Delta. Once u take the init then u can able to see the Delta option in Infopackage..
In BI7.0 for loading the data from PSA to the target u need to use the DTP in place of the Infopackage as in the case of 3.x..
Infopackage's are used to load the data till PSA.. and from PSA the DTP will come into picture..
    Thanks
    Hope this helps

  • Hai l how to find weather our infopackage is used in any infopackage group?

hai is there any way to find out weather our infopackage is used in any infopackage group.Help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mark.

    Hi Steve,
go to RSMON Transaction there you can find all the infopackage groups and there you can check whether your infopackage is present there or not.
and also if it is included in any infopackage group or any process chain you can find the option like "infopackage is included in the infopackage group or process chain" in the schedule tab.
    Hope its clear.
    assign points if its helpful....

    DV

    Hi,
It will delete the data as well the request ID.

First let me wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year.
    I have one clarification here,
User was running a report with extensive selection, unfortunately the user got the error "TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED"
Then there was shortdump in ST22, saying that " No more storage space available for extending an internal table"
I would like to know that which query was this user running during that time. then i can investigate further what can be done to avoid this problems.
    I thank in advance.

    Hi,
TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED - No more storage space available for extending an internal table.
It is purely the memory issue. you can resolve this by reducing the data selections. For the temporary solution remove the OLAP variable in the data selection if its there and run with less selection It may help and try to use the option in infopackage scheduler as PSA only and Update subseqently in data targets

  • Setting in info package

    Hi,
When we create info package on 3.x data source, we can find the setting like Separator for Thousands and  'Character Used for Decimal Point' in info package but where can I find these setting in info package when it is created on 7.0 data source?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You will never get such option in Infopackage level for any datasource be it 3.X or 7.0 except for Extraction tab of Flat File data source.
The option for decimal character and separator comes in the EXTRACTION tab of the Flat File data source IP only and no where else. I think you are getting confused with this
In the flatfile data source you require these settings to be done before hand so that while extraction system can recognize the correct field values and field sequence.
    Hope this clarifies your doubts.

  • Psa information

    hi gurus,
In processing option of InfoPackage we have the fallowing options.
1:PSA and then into DataTargets (package by package)
2:PSA and  DataTargets (package by package)
what is the technical difference between these two.Give me the technical reason about which one is best.
    regards
    balaji.p

    Hi
    First Option:
In PSA and then at once in InfoCube or InfoObject
    Use
Select this field if you want to update data first to the PSA and then want to post it to InfoCubes or the master data table of an InfoObject.
If there is an error while posting to the InfoCubes or the master data table of an InfoObject, the data is in the PSA and you can post the data again from there.
    second Option
Select this field if you want to update data to the PSA and post it to the InfoCubes or master data table of the InfoObject in parallel.
When you post data to the PSA and InfoCubes or the master data table of an InfoObject in parallel, a second parallel process is started to post data to the InfoCubes or the master data table of an InfoObject, as long as there are sufficient free dialog processes.
If there is an error while posting to the InfoCube or master data table of an InfoObject, you can post the data from the PSA again.
    Hope it helps
    Thanks

  • PARALLEL LOAD - SPACE USAGE

    제품 : ORACLE SERVER
    작성날짜 : 2004-08-13
    SCOPE
8.1.6 이상의 Standard Edition 부터 지원이 되는 기능입니다.
Subject: Parallel Load - space usage.
I have put together a short summary of how Parallel Load handles
storage allocation in 7.1 which I am going to send to a customer.
This could also quickly turn into a bulletin or PR entry
    (if one doesn't already exist).
I'd appreciate if people could review and give corrections/enhancements.
Here is how storage allocation works with parallel loads.
For each parallel loader session, Oracle
    1) creates a temporary segment with the INITIAL and NEXT
from the table that is being loaded, and in the datafile
    designated by the FILE option.
    2) When a load is complete, the final extent used by that
parallel load is trimmed back to the last block which it
    used.
    3) Lastly, the extents belonging to the temporary segments
are then converted to extents belonging to the table
    being loaded.
This creates a couple of problems:
    * If your INITIAL and NEXT are different for the table,
then you will end up with multiple extents sized the
same as INITIAL, which doesn't follow general table
    growth patterns.
    * Extent sizes are not predictable for the last extent of
each load. This can lead to tablespace fragmentation.
    What to do about this?
    * Size INITIAL and NEXT to be the same.
This will eliminate the first problem listed.
    * Oracle 7.2 will have a feature in to specify the storage
parameters used by the parallel load (bug 187319):
    OPTIONS (STORAGE=(MINEXTENTS n
    MAXEXTENTS n
    INITIAL n K
    NEXT n K
    PCTINCREASE n))
    * Enhancement Request 236552 has been filed to allow the
user to select no trimming of the extents.

    Hi Karen,
The number of workprocess (Dialog/Background) could be reduced also by selecting the loading options in InfoPackage.
In InfoPackage Processing tab, there are various loading options,
PSA & Then into data target (Package by Package) - This option uses only one process at a time. One data package is lifted from the Source System by a background process to PSA, and then the same process lifts it from PSA to datatarget.
PSA & data target in parallel (Package by Package) - This option uses two process at a time. One data package is lifted from the Source System by a background process to PSA, and then another process lifts it from PSA to datatarget. The first process same time, gets busy in lifting another package from Source System to PSA.
The first option is good, but takes more time to load data than the second one, so there is a tradeoff.
Also it is good if you use another process in process chain to activate the ODS instead of setting it up on automatic activation.
Please let me know if you need any more help.
    Regards,
    Pankaj
