Setting in info package

Hi,
When we create info package on 3.x data source, we can find the setting like Separator for Thousands and 'Character Used for Decimal Point' in info package but where can I find these setting in info package when it is created on 7.0 data source?

Hi,
You will never get such option in Infopackage level for any datasource be it 3.X or 7.0 except for Extraction tab of Flat File data source.
The option for decimal character and separator comes in the EXTRACTION tab of the Flat File data source IP only and no where else. I think you are getting confused with this
In the flatfile data source you require these settings to be done before hand so that while extraction system can recognize the correct field values and field sequence.
Hope this clarifies your doubts.

Any one can suggest how to set request number of info package using start routine or any other mode so that only selective request should proceed using DTP?

You'll probably want to do this in a start routine. It is probably not advisable to hard-code the technical name of the InfoPak. They seem to remain the same upon transport, unlike DTP technical names which are locally generated.
I would do a SQL select like this in a start routine, and then filter based on the results of the SQL. You'll probably want to sort the results by date and time, both descending. Or do a MAX in the SQL.
Please let me know if this isn't clear.

Info-package setting: Data selection tab

Hi,
I have to give selection conditions in info-package.
The need is to restrict the values of a particular field to start with BP and BQ.
i.e i need only values starting with BP and BQ.
I gave from and to values in the selection screen of info-package as BP* and BQ*
But the error says CP(Compare Pattern) is not allowed.
How else can i make the info-package to select values starting only with BP and BQ

Hi Yeshwanth,
If this is a character string, then check the length and start from BP0000, as per the length of the feild till the end which in our case would be BQ0000.

Info Package in Process Chain taking long time

Dear All,
Info Package in Process Chain having 0 records is taking 1 hr 5 mins to complete. Time out time is set to 10 mins.
Does any one of you know the reason why it is happening like this?

When the status was red, I checked BD87 and SM58 and there were no entries.

Dump error while creating or double click the info package

Hello experts,
I have actived infocube 0FIAR_C03 in BI content. Ago, The creation infopackage have been deleted in the past , today, I created a infopackage, while I update mode selected u2018initialize delta processu2019, then click save button , the system prompt u2018Deltas already loaded for request REQU_D64R47LDUSZHY9CBIB86WMLFJ init.selection; no 2. initu2019, I canoti save it for my setting. Why is this?
Then I have search cause in SDN, and I have reference OSS Note 852443 to do .
Note 852443 have mention some table: RSSELDONE、RSSDLINIT、RSSDLINITSEL、ROOSPRMSC、ROOSPRMSF.
I have to delete that request of record using se16 in these tables: RSSELDONE、RSSDLINIT、RSSDLINITSEL.
in my BI 7.0 system, ROOSPRMSC、ROOSPRMSF is no any data.
I was no found delta queue in RSA7.
Now . Dump error while creating or double click the info package, how can I change this?
Please let me know the solution.

Error in Scheduling INIT Info package

Hi All,
We have a standard extractor in CRM which we have replicated to our BW system. We also had transfer rules ready as a part of the BI content, but were present as 3.x data flows. So, we migrated the 3.x data flow to 7 successfully and finally created an INIT info package since the data source was meant for delta extraction. Now, when i schedule my INIT info package, i get an error saying that "Job was terminated in the source system". I also traced this issue in the source system and i found that there was a run time error which says
Runtime error - OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
"An exception occurred that is explained in detail below. The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was not caught in procedure "CRM_BW_CMG_LINKS_INIT" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the CLEAR statement."
Can anybody help me out with this? What shud i do now?

Hi,
You need check Selection in RSO2 in ECC then that field is available for Selectgion in InfoPackage.
Here I'm giving 0CUST_SALES_ATTR DataSource Example for Selection Change, so see the logic and accordingly you can change your DataSource Selections.
See the properties of that field in RSA2 in ECC and you can also make it for selection, use the following program and see it.
In ROOSFIELD table give the datasource 0CUST_SALES_ATTR and see , select only Active version Fields.
For the following fields you can find FIELD = X, it indecates that it is abailable for selections, so in this way you try to do it by using following program and check.
KUNNR
SPART
VKORG
VTWEG
REPORT ZBI_ROOSFIELD NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING .
tables ROOSFIELD.
Update ROOSFIELD set SELECTION = 'X' where
OLTPSOURCE = '0CUST_SALES_ATTR' and

Info package in a PC failed

Hi Experts,
An Info Package in a PC has failed.
When I see the status tab it shows that "Request Successfully Updated in the data target"
But the status is Red.
It is a Master Data
Please help me in this regards.
Should I Manually change the status to green ?

Hi Ashwin,
In the Infopackage monitor screen, go to the details tab. In that check if the following mentioned tabs have completed successfully
1) Extraction
2) Transfer
3) Processing
If everything is green and processed sucessfully, then it means that ur request has been updated successfully in the datatarget
Also sometimes it may occur that your Request might have run for a longer time than usual and crossed the maximum wait time settings defined..to cross check this... goto
In the infopackage monitor screen goto Setting--> Incorret waiting time for status, and check what value is present there, if the IP run time is more than the value defined there, change it temporarily and refresh, then the request should turn to green..
This should help i believe...

Creating Info-Package Groups

Hi All,
We are running a Job through Process chain. But due to some bug it is taking 4 Hrs to complete. We tried executing the Info-Packages manually. It completed with in 30 Mins. So we are planning to create IP group to trigger that Job instead of through Process chain.
Can you please explain how to create the Info Package Group and how to include info packeges in to the IP Group.
After creating IP group we have to schedule a Job to trigger this IP group which inturn triggers the Info packages.
If possible please explain the steps for the above process.

Hi,
Procedure to create InfoPackage Group
Go to InfoSource tree in modeling of the Administrator Workbench and choose in the standard toolbar of the right area of the screen Show InfoPackage Group.
On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see the InfoPackage group tree.
Highlight a node of the InfoPackage group tree and create a new InfoPackage group using the context menu (right mouse click). This is always inserted underneath the highlighted node.
Select an InfoPackage (in the InfoSource tree in the middle area of the screen) that you want to transfer to the InfoPackage group and move it into the InfoPackage group you want by using drag & drop.
You can assign as many InfoPackages as you like to an InfoPackage group.
InfoPackages with the same selection conditions, same assignment for combination of InfoSource / DataSource / source system, same data type (transaction data or master data), and same data target cannot be assigned to the same InfoPackage group.
Alternatively to the above procedure, you can also create an InfoPackage group in the monitoring view of the Administrator Workbench. However, in this view it is not possible to insert InfoPackages into the InfoPackage Group.
You have created an InfoPackage group and have inserted InfoPackages into the InfoPackage group. You can now
Scheduling an InfoPackage Group
Choose Show InfoPackage Groups in the InfoSource tree of the Administrator Workbench Modeling, or choose the InfoPackages view in Monitoring of the AWB.
Select an InfoPackage group from the InfoPackage group tree and choose Schedule.
You arrive in the scheduler (InfoPackage group maintenance) with the InfoPackages and Scheduling tab pages.
Select the InfoPackages you want to load.
By default, all InfoPackages are selected.
On the tab page InfoPackages, number the InfoPackages that are assigned to the group according to the sequence in which the loading process is to be carried out.
For the InfoPackages, select whether you want the monitor to run a check during the data update to see if the first request from the list has been completely and correctly processed. Only then will the request for which this indicator has been set be processed.
Define a fixed delay of one minute for the individual InfoPackages. The delay represents the wait time until the next request is carried out.
Schedule the InfoPackage group in the background.

Error Handling in info-package strangely doesn't work

Dear All,
I'm trying to load master-data from R3 containing time-dependent attributes which, I know, are sometimes overlapping. As I still want to load the correct part of data, i've set Processing - via PSA and Error Handling - "Updating valid records, reporting possible" with number of errors more than the dataset itself. However, the load still fails and what is more interesting, all records in PSA are marked as "green" whereas the errors are reported in a log.
And what makes me wonder even more is that the same info-package from the same DS is loaded in a test system OK - with errors handled and "trashed" in PSA and remaining updated in Info-Object MD.
Does anybody can help to resolve this strange problem as i can't honestly see the difference in global settings of test and productive systems that could allow this...

Hi,
Here you are extracting data for master data with one of the attribute as time dependent . So there are two more fileds are neccessary in extraction ,i.e, 'from date' and 'to date'.
And it seems there is overlapping of this range for two records. Make sure it in PSA with record numbers. And make sure there will be no overlapping.

Info Package filter for not pulling some materilas

I have requirement. I need to put filter in the info package for not to pull material no XXXX and YYYY.
I do know how to restrict in the infopackage. But in this case I need to write MATNR N0T EQUAL TO XXXX and YYYY.
Can you please provide me a code that I can write in the info package.

There are many way to achive this, few are:
1. Create a Infopackage routine and exculde the values u do'nt want.
2. Create a OLAP varriable and in customer exit exclude the values u do'nt want.
   To achive this u have to create a customer exit varriable in BEX the same will be reflected here.[Process
   of creating a OLAP variable remains the same as is done in case of query's]
3. You can exclude values by including all the values around the ones you dont want:
   Let's say you don't want types 103 and 506. In your infopackage, input three intervals:
   001-102
   104-505
   507-999
   You can add more rows for your product type selection by hitting the "insert duplicate row" button, next to the check-button on the bottom left corner.
4. Load the data and then delete the records in DTP Filter, start routine or end routine. This will lead
   to large data set being loaded better approach is to delete the data at Infopackage leavel.

Info-package change mode

hi guys,
we trasfered all the infopackes FROM DEV TO QA Environment
when i try to creaate an info package in QA client it was in display mode.
as i know the reason that client doesn't allow any changes in QA cleint.
is there any other way where i can create the info packages in QA without chaging the Client setting.
we dont want to transfer all the time from DEV to QA.
just i need a solution to create info packages in QA without distubing client setting.

hi naga,
usually, we do not send the infopack from dev to quality systems. They are created in quality system itself as and when needed according to requirement.
To make that setting, go to Q system,
RSA1 --> "Goto" menu --> Transport Connection.
in the transport connection screen, there is a button in upper right section, "Object Changeability".
clicking this button will provide you list of type of objects that are allowed to change/no change. So you can set infopackges as changeable objects.

Failed info package, failed request turns from red to green after 1 hour so

There is a failed info package and if u go to monitor screen, the request status will be red in colour but then the same request after 1 hour or so turn from red to green automatically, why is this, what could be the possible reason??????????

Hi Lieu.
The system automatically sets the status for the load to incorrect if the waiting time is exceeded. The load will still be running even though it might look incorrect, and that is why it turns green when it is complete (and everything is correct).
You can set the waiting time if you go to the monitor -> choose a request -> settings -> waiting time up to status incorrect (ctrl + F9).

Info Package Problem

BW Gurus,
I am facing a weird problem in the info packages.
I am trying to pull data from SAP 3.1i system and my info package is set to "Full update". I am interested in one sales document. When I enter that sales document in the data selection screen of the info package and hit the check button, it just vanishes displaying a zero!!!!!. the document does exist in SAP 3.1i. Has anybody seen this weirdness in info packages?

Error handling in Info Package

Hi,
I am flexibly loading master data into an Info Object (0DPM_DCAS) Info Provider.The delta loads occur on a daily basis.It is fed from two data sources serially in a process chain.
My concerns are regarding load failures.
What ideally should be the "Error handling" setting in the info package? "No update,no report / Valid update,request red / Valid update,request green"? What might be the implications of each on a long term basis?
Also, if a delta load fails from one of the data sources do I need to set the QM status manually to green to make the subsequent loads go through? If so how do I obtain the data for the failed request?
How safe is it to manually change the QM status?

Hi Avishek,
The Error handling mechanism works whenyou load to PSA and subsequently update the data target (InfoObject in your case). This is provided for in cases where you know that there is some junk data that will be extracted, and this can cause a load to fail in BW. Eg. you are loading around 90,000 material values and even if one has an extra char, the whole load will fail. To prevent this, you can use error handling. In Valid update,request red the correct records are updated and incorrect are left behind, but the data is not released for reporting. Using the Valid update,request green option, the correct records are updated and are also available for reporting. You can later edit the incorrect records (stored in PSA as a separate request) and update them to the data target.
If a load fails, never set it to green else you will miss out on the next delta. Always make sure that it is red and then delete it or request the next delta. Changing the QM status is quite commonly done, but it is important to be very careful.
